CHAPTER 5: MOVING ON

Two weeks after the "final dance" with Emily, Charlie Brown had finally accepted that Emily was in fact a ghost and was never coming back. He struggled with it for a while, but eventually he knew he couldn't linger on someone who was a spirit that had passed on years ago. Lucy was still shaken by the experience. After denying anything could happen like that, then seeing a ghost up front and being proved wrong did something to her. She was more affected by it than Charlie Brown. While he was hurt about her moving on, even if she was a ghost, Lucy was more shaken up about the situation than he was. Her parents decided to take her to get some counseling.

After coming to terms with Emily moving to the next plane, Charlie Brown returned to the dance school, determined to move on from that event. He sat on a bench, wondering if anyone would ask him to dance with them. At that moment, a pretty blonde-haired girl walked up to him.

"Hi," she greeted. "How are you doing today?"

"Pretty good," said Charlie Brown. "What's your name?"

"My name is Stephanie."

"My name is Charles Brown."

"Nice to meet you, Charles. Anyway, I need a dance partner and I was wondering if you'd like to be mine."

Charlie Brown was apprehensive due to what happened last time someone asked to be their partner. Was this girl among the living, or was she another ghost? His worries were relieved when another girl came walking up.

"Hi, Stephanie!" greeted the girl.

"Oh, hi, Alison," Stephanie greeted back. Charlie Brown smiled.

"I'd love to be your dance partner," he said. Stephanie smiled back.

"I hope you don't mind me saying this, Charles, but I think you're a cute boy." Charlie Brown immediately blushed. For someone who always said nobody liked him, Charlie Brown had quite a few girls, even deceased girls from beyond, that did. The day was spent getting to know Stephanie, and Charlie Brown couldn't wait to introduce her to the gang.
