Alright pups, things are starting to pick up here. I loved reading the new reviews btw, i spent the last few days ugly laughing at all of them lmao. I hope Yall enjoy this because it's gonna get a bit more intense before the end.
Boscha smiled when Blake tried to copy her old sister's motions. The pink witch had given her sibling a strip of cloth to practice her hand sewing on, just like their grandma had done with her. Blake's tongue stuck out of the corner of her mouth in concentration.
It was moments like these that made the witch appreciate her younger sister. Blake's small hands fumbled a bit and her lines were crooked but it showed that she was trying. Her ears twitched hearing footsteps stomping down the hall. Boscha sucked in a breath. It could either be her other sister or her mother. Either way, it wouldn't be good.
"Blake, let's play hide and seek okay? I'll count to five and you hide." Boscha prayed that her sister didn't hear the nervousness in her tone. Grey eyes flicking towards her bedroom door.
Blake peered up at her slightly confused why her sister wanted to play all of a sudden. She opened her mouth to reply but was shushed by her sister holding a finger up to her mouth. Grabbing Sid, Blake nodded.
Boscha covered her eyes and began to count. Ear ears twitching wildly.
1..
Blake clutched her plushie closer to her chest and looked around the room.
2..
Her dual colored eyes landed on the trunk beside her sister's bed.
3..
Small feet padded their way over to the trunk. She tried to lift it but the lid was too heavy. Her arms shook with effort.
4..
Finally, she heaved the lid open before climbing inside. Still clutching Sid to her chest.
5..
The door flew open as the lid to the trunk slowly closed. The velvet lined edges barely making a sound.
"Hello dear sister!" Barbi called. Paying no mind to the door barely hanging on by its hinges. Ice blue eyes scanned the room before falling on a bundle of half eaten jerky on the bed.
Boscha cursed as she lunged for the strip of cloth Blake was using and shoved it into her back pocket. Never once showing Barbi her back. The corner of the table dug into her lower back painfully but she shrugged it off. Determined to keep Barbi in her sight.
Barbi sucked her teeth as she gestured towards the bed. "It's not dinner time yet B. How did you get this?"
"I took it." Boscha snarled. Careful to keep her gaze on her sister. If she glanced at the trunk her younger sister was hiding in, she know Barbi wouldn't hesitate to drag her sibling out of that trunk and make her watch. 'Making an example' their mother called it. "What do you want Barbi?"
"What? I wanted to spent time with my dear sister of course!" Barbi raised her arms as a sign of false enthusiasm, her eyes displaying pure hatred. Her demeanor changed completely when she grumbled. "And to pay you back for that incident at breakfast."
Boscha's throat bobbed as she swallowed. She really didn't want to do this with Blake hiding a few feet away, she wanted her sister to keep some of her innocence. "Barbi, I didn't want to do it. You know how mother is. She's trying to shove all the perfect bullshit on us because dad left."
Barbi sucked her teeth as she took in the sight of her sibling. "You've cut off all of your hair, you are hardly the most sane person in the room right now. I'm glad to see that you are reverting back to the way you were before dear sibling."
The blue-eyed witch smirked when she noticed her sibling tense up. "It means you finally grew out of pretending being something you aren't."
"Shut up!" Boscha bellowed. Her chest felt tight and her throat burned. Barbi snickered as she drew closer, her footsteps slow and calculated. Just like everything else she did.
"Face it, you'll never be perfect." Barbi pounced on Boscha. The three-eyed witch was hurled onto the table. Pins and extra needles rolled across the table, some puncturing the witch's shoulder making her hiss. Barbi gripped the collar of her sister's shirt in one hand and balled the other to start delivering blows.
Boscha grit her teeth. As long her sister was safe didn't care what happened to her. Her head snapped backwards as a fist connected with her nose. She was going to need some help. And she knew just who to call, if she could get away from her sister and to her phone.
After showering, Amity dawned the same pink dress.Deciding it couldn't be that bad if Luz liked it. Making sure to grab a pair of extra clothes. She tossed in a few bags of snails for Eda in exchange for car parts. Already mentally preparing for the hustler. Luz complained about being hungry so the two ordered a meal on the go.
Until Amity's phone started to ring. Now, the punk drove without a care in the world but she absolutely despised driving while on the phone. Luz let out a muffled scream when the witch sharply pulled over to the side to answer her phone. Luz shrugged and returned to eating her frog legs.
Amity checked the ID and noticed it was Boscha. Curious she clicked 'Answer' and held the phone up to her ear. "Boscha?... Hey slow down! Boscha listen to me okay. Breathe. Where are you?"
Luz silently stared at the girl sitting next to her in concern. After a moment the witch sighed and ran a hand through her hair. "Okay, I'm not that far away. I just left my house awhile ago. Let me know when you're safe. I'm coming to get you."
With that, Amity ended the call and made a sharp U-turn. Tires screeching as a plume of smoke trailed behind them. The latina tightening her hold on the bucket of frog legs. "What's going on? Is Boscha okay?"
Her girlfriend's demeanor from before was no where to be seen, now replaced with tense muscles and a furrowed brow. "Boscha got into a fight with her sister. From the sound of it she barely got away. She's hiding at one of the camping sites we used to party at. I'm going to pick her up and make sure she's okay."
"Boscha has a sister?" Luz asked. Swallowing the last bit of her meal and putting the rest in a safe place in case Boscha was hungry.
"Two. Barbi is the oldest and Blake the youngest. Barbi is a bitch but Blake is a little sweetheart." Amity explained as she barreled down the road at break neck speed. "I met them a few times but Boscha always asked for us to hang out at my place."
They were getting closer to a large clearing in the woods. Luz could make out a slumped figure in the dim lighting. She heard Amity scoff next to her. "Now I can see why."
The punk stomped on the brakes pulling Susie to an abrupt stop before she threw the door open and ran towards Boscha, Luz following closely behind her whilst pulling a light glyph from her pockets and giving it a light tap. Now that the girls had light they could see just how badly Boscha was hurt.
The girl was slumped against a log, her legs sprawled out underneath her. Her face was covered in blood, most likely from her nose- which was bent at an odd angle. her clothes were torn. No, her clothes were shredded. A large tear started at the witch's shoulder, the fabric barely hanging on around her bicep. Another started around her ribcage, it looked it was cut. Shining metal pins stuck out of her right shoulder.
Luz couldn't help but feel worried for the girl. She couldn't imagine having a sibling that would willingly harm you in such a harsh way. A lump formed in her throat when she remembered there was a third younger sibling.
If Barbi did this, what is the mom like? Luz thought.
"Boscha!" Amity called as she dropped to her knees once she was close enough to the pink witch, her knees sliding across the loose gravel. Hesitant hands slowly gripped the girl's shoulders before giving a small shake. It was quiet for a moment, both girls holding their breath waiting for something to happen.
Boscha's face scrunched up in pain before she let out a small pitiful moan. Luz and Amity both sighed in relief. Luz let the ball of light hover in the air while she shrugged off her jacket and crumbled it up into a makeshift pillow. "Here."
Amity took the jacket and carefully put it under Boscha's head. Grey eyes blinked slowly before opening fully and staring at the two nervously hovering over her. Her throat bobbed as she swallowed.
"Hey guys." She croaked. Her voice strained as if she hadn't had a drink of water in years.
"What happened to you Boscha?" Luz asked, kneeling down to the injured witch's level. The light glyph hovering near her head.
Boscha cracked a delirious smile and answered. "I cut my hair."
Amity let out a bitter chuckle. "I see that, it looks good on you-" Amity watched Boscha's head slump backwards as she lost consciousness once more. "Come on Luz, help me get her to the car."
Luz nodded and rushed to the other side of the injured witch. Together the two girls threw each arm over their shoulders and carried a limp Boscha to the car. After getting her into the car, Luz retrieved her jacket while Amity searched in her trunk for a spare blanket. They could change Boscha's clothes later. The punk silently cheered when she found a soft blanket hiding in the corner of her trunk.
Tossing the blanket over Boscha's battered form, Luz and Amity shared a somber look.
"I'll call the gang." Luz stated, leaving no room for argument
Not that Amity was going too.
