"So after all that trouble last night, we're still no closer to finding Mizumi's killer."
Kurumu frowned as Kokoa slipped on her shoes in the genkan.
"I told you right away that Ginei wasn't guilty of that."
Moka nodded, slipping her schoolbag on.
"Ginei was with us in Okinawa at that time."
"I'm not stupid. I was hoping that worthless club president of yours would have made some progress."
Kurumu sighed as Kokoa pushed open the door and stepped out.
"He told us that at lunch before the paintball game. And he can't poke around too much without Lord Chiki knowing."
"Why don't you have Ms. Nazohashi talk to him again?"
Kurumu slipped on her loafers as Moka did the same.
"We can't do that until we know why he has Mr. Sabaku and Mr. Utsubari."
"You're supposed to be finding Mizumi's killer."
"We're doing our best, Kokoa."
Kokoa scowled as Moka joined her outside. Kurumu fixed her schoolbag about her torso, parting her jacket to hide most of it.
"Seems like all of you are more interested in doing stupid articles about nonsense than any serious investigative reporting. You have nothing on Mizumi's killer or those bank robbers."
Kurumu sighed again as she strolled out to join them. Moka closed the door, promptly locking it.
"It seems that way."
"What if the bank robbers are also responsible for Mizumi's death?"
Kurumu smiled softly as they started walking away from the suite.
"I suppose that's always been possible."
"Tsukune!"
Moka bolted from their side towards the young man whom was walking with Rubi and Yukari. While Yukari was sporting the green jacket for their school today, Rubi had donned that white, long sleeved blouse with the frilly collar which was tucked in her black sailor pants.
"Good morning, Moka."
Moka misjudged his stride, stopping her advance too late to avoid an awkward collision. She laughed sheepishly grabbing him by the jacket as he staggered back. The weary look in his eyes suggested he had not slept well with the witches last night.
"Moka."
"You are far too eager to greet my boyfriend."
"It's disgraceful. Mother never threw herself into Father's arms."
Kurumu ignored Kokoa's protest.
"You look tired, Tsukune."
"It's been a rough morning."
Moka leaned into him, taking in a deep breath.
"Mmm. Tsukune. You smell so delicious."
"Moka?"
"I can't resist."
Tsukune stiffened when Moka sank her fangs in his neck. Kurumu pouted as Kokoa gagged, waving a finger at the couple.
"Have you no shame?!"
"Is she going to be like this the entire walk to school?"
Not bothering to answer Yukari's rhetorical question, Kurumu hurried over to the couple. She placed a hand on Moka's back as the vampire lifted her lips from his neck with a gasp. Tsukune sagged in the vampire's embrace with a vacant gaze.
"Even better than the last time."
Kurumu slipped behind Tsukune, tugging him out of Moka's grasp.
"Just look at him now. You took too much."
The vampire had a distant, blissful look. She absently rubbed her breast.
"Did he take some of Rubi's blood last night?"
Rubi blushed, clasping her hands at her navel and squirming.
"Mr. Aono and I are now bound by blood."
Kurumu shivered as her body stirred from holding Tsukune. She carefully turned the weakened boy about in her arms though his face promptly found its way into her bosom. She held in the moan, tightening her grip about his torso as he reflexively touched her sides for support.
"I hope nothing else happened."
Yukari snorted, shaking her head.
"This dummy was so happy about it that she served us breakfast this morning."
"There's nothing wrong with-"
"In only an apron."
Kurumu whimpered. She promptly slipped her hand up to the back of his head to push his face firmly against her chest.
"Forget all about that, Tsukune. This is the only body you need."
A heavy hand struck her in the head, causing her eyes to water. She staggered back, dropping Tsukune in the dirt as she rubbed her head indignantly.
"What was that for?!"
Moka frowned at her.
"You shouldn't hold Tsukune like that. What if you charm him again?"
Kurumu growled in frustration, pouncing over the dazed boy to grab Moka by the collar. She shook the vampire angrily.
"He's barely conscious after what you did. And I was robbed of being his first apron only experience."
"I would have thought you would have done that by now."
Kurumu shoved Moka back and turned her scowl on Yukari.
"Excuse me, but getting my baby maker torn out kind of killed my sexual drive."
Kurumu staggered forward as Moka shoved her from behind.
"It's not like you stopped having sex with him."
Kurumu whirled about, wagging a finger at Moka.
"I spent most of my mornings serving breakfast for two ungrateful vampires."
"That's your job. Teach this whining servant a lesson, Moka."
Moka stepped up and wagged a finger in Kurumu's face.
"I thanked you after every meal."
"But you don't support my relationship with Tsukune at all. You won't even let him have my blood."
"You're my blood claim."
"And what does that get me?"
Moka faltered.
"My Mother-"
"I pledged my life to your sister. I doubt your blood claim has anything to do with how your mother treats me. I get nothing out of letting you have my blood. Nothing."
Kurumu reeled from Moka's heavy handed slap. Her eyes watered and she felt the slight trickle of blood creep from her nostril. She snarled, swiping her palm through the air to catch the vampire on the cheek. Moka let out a pained cry, stepping in to grab her by the collar and shake her like a doll.
"You call that fighting!"
Kurumu hardly cared what Kokoa thought. It was difficult to not lose her bearings as Moka was stupid strong. She flailed her arms, pounding on Moka's shoulders and head to force the vampire to let her go.
Balls of cold slush peppered her side, causing Moka to release her. Moka whimpered, turning about to face their new assailant. Mizore calmly walked towards them, dressed for school and sucking on her lollipop. The snow girl ignored their angry stares, strolling over to Tsukune and helping him up.
"You're all too noisy for the morning."
"Thanks, Mizore."
"And you're up earlier than usual."
Mizore cocked her head at Yukari's observation as a wobbly Tsukune brushed off the dirt from his outfit.
"I couldn't sleep knowing Tsukune was nearby."
Tsukune chuckled nervously, backing away from Mizore.
"I didn't mean to trouble you."
Mizore turned a glare upon Moka.
"Taking his blood again? Aren't you worried about him becoming a ghoul?"
Moka pouted at the snow girl.
"He's had your blood this weekend and took Rubi's last night."
Mizore turned her attention on Rubi, whom squirmed in response.
"I don't give my blood to him for your sake, Akashiya."
"But I need it to acquire his power."
"Aono is her blood claim. My sister doesn't require your permission."
"Stay out of this."
"You will not talk to your Lady in such a tone!"
"Don't you ever tire of this, Tsukune? You could always run away with me."
Kurumu stepped up to Mizore, wagging her finger at the impassive girl.
"Don't you start with that nonsense."
"I never needed you to have a baby with Tsukune."
Kurumu pouted, shoving Mizore back. The snow girl nearly toppled over, unprepared for the contact.
"You better take that back or I won't ever use you when Tsukune and I get back together."
Mizore regained her composure. She glanced at Tsukune.
"Face it, Kurumu. Tsukune doesn't want you."
Kurumu clenched her fists. She wanted to lash out but a part of her wanted to embrace the fact that it was over. Give up. Move on. Though there was nothing else to live for. No future. It hurt so much.
A sharp slap snapped her out of her misery. Moka trembled on the verge of tears, shaking a fist at Mizore. The snow girl had fallen back a step, clutching her cheek.
"Don't talk to her like that."
The temperature dropped rapidly as Mizore scowled.
"You're a fraud, Akashiya. You pretend like you care about everyone, but you don't help anyone!"
"That's not true."
The temperature continued to plunge.
"Tsukune told me how he mustered up the courage to ask you out that last night in Okinawa and your other half turned him down. All you do is make everyone around you miserable."
"Sounds like someone is talking about herself."
Mizore whirled on Yukari.
"What has she done for you? Has she kissed you? Held you? Promised to spend her life with you?"
Yukari pouted, wringing her hands.
"My age-"
"At least Kurumu tried to make Tsukune happy."
"Take her down, Sis."
"Please. Everyone stop fighting."
Of course he would ask that of them. He would avoid saying anything to correct Mizore's accusation because it was true. Kurumu shivered, feeling her nipples harden as her breath came out in mist. There was only one thing left to do.
"Shut up!"
Kurumu sprung on Mizore. As the snow girl was focused on Moka and Kurumu's intentions were not the least bit harmful, she got her hands on the chilly wench with ease. Before Mizore could react, Kurumu had a hand on the white stick in Mizore's mouth and tugged hard, yanking the girl forward as she bopped Mizore on the head with the bottom of her fist.
"Give me that!"
Mizore struggled as Kurumu tugged on the white stick, trying to push her away. Moka hopped in, placing a palm on each of their shoulders and pushed hard. Kurumu staggered back, holding a cherry lollipop in her hand as Mizore scowled at them but the temperature had leveled off.
"What are you-"
Kurumu smirked, stuffing the lollipop in her mouth and lifting her nose up.
"It's mine now. How do you like having something of yours stolen from you?"
Mizore frowned at her.
"I want to say that the other Moka refuses to be in a sexual relationship unless she has to by vampire customs. Vampire women don't throw themselves at men."
Kurumu snorted at Moka.
"You mean like you did a few minutes ago."
"That's not the same thing!"
Kurumu grinned around the lollipop. She hopped in and grabbed a swath of pink tresses, giving it a sharp tug which caused Moka to mewl.
"Vampires like it rough."
"Stop it."
Kurumu snickered as Moka meekly tried to push on her shoulders.
"Nobody will believe a weak request like that."
Kurumu cried out as her own hair was tugged from behind. Mizore smirked at her.
"Seems she isn't the only one."
"Only Tsukune is allowed to pull my hair."
She flailed her free hand about, catching a handful of Mizore's short locks and tugging. The snow girl let out a slight protest, but tugged even harder on Kurumu's hair in response.
"You are all so pathetic!"
Tsukune chuckled as they stopped pulling each other's hair to regard a flustered Kokoa.
"Deep down, they're all friends."
"They're acting like a bunch of toddlers."
Yukari snorted.
"I doubt toddlers would fight over sex."
"I hate you!"
Kokoa stormed off angrily.
"What's her problem?"
Kurumu let out a heavy sigh, releasing her handfuls of Moka's and Mizore's hair. She laughed as Mizore gave her another playful tug. The temperature had returned to the mild warmth of the morning, but her nipples remained hard. She hoped Tsukune would notice.
"Kokoa is frustrated that we haven't made any progress on finding Mizumi's killer."
Kurumu nodded at Moka's summary. She turned to Tsukune, lifting her arms up in a stretch which thrust her bosom forth. Mission accomplished. At least he still wanted her body.
"Yea. Same things Kokoa has been upset about since school started."
Blushing, Tsukune glanced aside.
"Yea, well… we don't even know where to start."
Kurumu frowned as Mizore swatted the back of her head. She backhanded the girl's shoulder.
"Give that back."
Kurumu smirked at Mizore's gesture. She tilted her head and pursed her lips.
"Pucker up for it."
"I have another one."
Mizore reached down into her schoolbag. Kurumu frowned, knowing Tsukune would have enjoyed seeing her smooch Mizore.
"How is Ginei doing?"
Yukari snorted, nodding back at her apartment.
"He's awake. Gave this deviant that spanking she desperately wanted."
Rubi pouted at Yukari.
"That was Mr. Aono's duty."
"I was not touching you this morning."
Yukari snickered at his hasty remark.
"I'm surprised Ginei did. Though his threats got her to put some clothes on."
Rubi shivered with delight.
"I didn't wish to risk him carrying that promise out. Only Mr. Aono can punish me there."
Tsukune shook his head with eyes wide.
"I'm not punishing you anywhere. We agreed that your blood was your punishment."
"But that hardly seems enough. I should be spanked for all of my sins against humanity."
Mizore unwrapped a lollipop and stuck it in her mouth.
"That would take forever."
Rubi tittered.
"True. I guess marriage is the only answer."
"Marriage?!"
"How else could you stay by my side to punish me for all my life?"
Kurumu could only shake her head at this nonsense. She sighed, regarding Yukari as Tsukune struggled with making sensible words.
"So what does that dog plan to do with his day?"
"He's still in bad shape. He plans to hang out with Ms. Chouda till after lunch and then swing by the dorms to check on Ms. Zanzou."
Kurumu sighed again, imagining that meant he would crash her photo shoot with the gymnastics club. Zanzou should still be in Okimune's room. Ginei had met up with her yesterday before their encounter in the cemetery to get Zanzou's report and to goad Nakamoto into following him again. Zanzou had slipped back inside the prison to check on Lord Chiki's guests, confirming that none had been released as of yet.
"Do you think Ms. Chouda will be okay being alone with him?"
"I don't think Ginei would do anything to her."
Yukari snorted at Moka.
"I wouldn't have thought he would do anything to Ms. Zanzou. No woman is safe around him."
Kurumu smirked, starting back towards Yukari's suite.
"I think we should convince Ms. Chouda to attend school today. Ginei doesn't need her company."
Nobody challenged her conclusion.
"I know it is early, but I don't have anything else for you to do today. You are free to leave for lunch, though please be considerate of your classmates whom might actually have lectures from teachers whom did feel like showing up for work today."
Kurumu smirked at Mrs. Itou's monotone delivery. She leaned over to slip her pencil into her schoolbag which hung off the handles mounted to the side of her desk.
"Do you think teachers are now participating in the boycott?"
Kumiko huffed at Abe's inquiry.
"Don't be stupid."
"What other reason would she have for not showing up to work?"
Senyou got up from his seat, gesturing at Satsuki.
"You're spending the night with your Aunt, right?"
"No. I'm staying with Ms. Sawayaka."
"Why there?"
Satsuki sighed as she stood up.
"Because I didn't want to impose and Ms. Meirowasa invited me to stay."
"Was Tora staying with you guys last night?"
Satsuki grinned, nodding at Kurumu.
"Yea. It really feels like a sleepover now that there's four of us in one room."
A hand squeezed Kurumu's shoulder. She smiled up at Juri.
"I don't see Ms. Sendou's satchel."
"Yea. She's going to eat with Rubi today. And find out when the Headmaster's weekly meeting with the town council is since she hasn't done that yet."
Yukari huffed, standing up from her desk at the same time as Kurumu.
"I wasn't going to miss our durian dinner and we had more important matters to deal with yesterday."
"Whom are you eating with today?"
Kurumu took in a deep breath, nodding at Ichida before he took off.
"Haven't thought about it. I know Kokoa is eating with her fencing club today and Moka is going to eat with Kana. I could join them."
"You could eat with us."
Kurumu toyed with that suggestion for a moment. She grinned at a thought.
"Maybe later this week. Asuka would throw a fit if I shared another lunch with you before doing one with her. And I'm a little worried about Kiki."
"Kiki?"
"Ms. Honda. She's in our club and eats lunch with Asuka."
"What's wrong with her?"
Kurumu shrugged, noting that all of the boys had already left. Kumiko was still here for some reason.
"Don't know. She wasn't in school yesterday and I want to know if I should be worried."
"Well if you're not with us, then we're going to head out."
Kurumu smirked at Satsuki.
"I'll get my free PSC lunch later this week."
Satsuki shrugged indifferently, starting for the door which prompted Deshi to take off. Kurumu thrust her hand in her pocket, feeling her lunch card before falling in step with Juri.
"Are you eating with your softball team today?"
Kumiko glanced at her as she walked alongside Yukari.
"I'm joining my sister today."
Kurumu nodded as they exited the classroom. Yukari murmured a farewell, heading off towards the front of the school while the rest of them walked towards the cafeteria.
"Do you think your sister will be okay?"
Kurumu had brought up the absences of Sabaku and Utsubari to Kumiko earlier today which had alarmed the girl. Apparently her sister ate lunch with those two in Kusutate's homeroom despite the young man's death at Kiria's hands months ago. Having not spoken with her sister last night, Kumiko had skipped part of third period lab to confirm her sister was at school.
"She's confused. She plans to ask Ms. Yoshino if she knows anything about this."
Kurumu nodded, noting the back door to class three was unsurprisingly closed. Satsuki stopped by the door while Deshi hovered by the railing.
"Be careful. We don't know what this Lord Chiki will do next."
Kumiko huffed as they strolled by the PSC girls.
"I think those two have more to be concerned about than I do."
"I can't believe he has them in prison."
Kurumu smiled at Juri.
"I know. It sounds like he really wants something to pin on the Headmaster."
"I wonder if he'll go after your club too."
Kurumu chuckled as she neared the front door to class three. She shortened her stride.
"He already wants Ginei for being a pervert."
Juri giggled and Kumiko snorted.
"Good luck with that, Ms. Kurono."
"I'll see you after lunch."
Kurumu nodded as the two girls continued on without her. She stared down the hallway, knowing that Asuka would be coming out of Mr. Hakuru's lab soon with the rest of class one. The doors to class four were also close which had her wonder which instructor taught Taijin's class this period. It would either be Mrs. Sunao or Ms. Shuzen.
The first half of the day was already over. It looked like Yukari and Ichida would have a vote on Thursday, but it would only determine which of them was manager and which was vice. And apparently anyone could volunteer to be a secretary so no vote was required for them.
Moka was planning to interview Ms. Huang today. That would wrap up her article. Mizore was done with her short story and had left it with Ginei this morning to review. Ginei needed something else to do since they had stolen Chouda away from his game of strip poker which she had been winning. That pervert had already been down to his underwear in the short time Yukari had left Chouda in his care. He argued that removing his clothes was not molesting Chouda. Kurumu doubted that would hold up in court.
Mr. Hakuru's lab which was right next to the bathrooms let out first. Half of the kids went straight to the nearby crossover stair, heading down to the lunch line. The three track girls were among the other half which walked down the hall towards her.
"Asuka! Nozomi!"
Kurumu hopped up and waved. Then she blushed, clapping her hand over her mouth as she backed away from the door. She felt a pang of guilt, certain the students in both of these classes had heard her.
Nozomi had a snaggletooth grin as the trio passed by class five. Asuka skipped ahead of the others to seize Kurumu by the arm.
"Hey! Do you know what's up with Ms. Nekonome?"
Kurumu flinched at the blonde's enthusiasm. She planted a finger on Asuka's lips as her electric blue eyes sparkled with excitement.
"I don't have a clue."
Asuka pouted as Nozomi neared them.
"Hey, Kurumu. What's up?"
"I'm having lunch with Asuka today."
"Awesome."
"How are you today, Chisa?"
The tall girl blushed at the use of her first name. She stopped with Nozomi.
"Um. Okay, I guess."
"Will you be going to nationals with your boyfriend?"
Kakeru blushed darker, reaching back to fiddle with the long, silvery strand at the base of her neck.
"I can't."
"Why not?"
"Regionals."
"Is that the same weekend?"
Asuka giggled as the other two nodded.
"I would totally blow off my regionals for my boyfriend."
"Which you don't have."
"It was a theoretical statement."
Nozomi chuckled, jostling the shorter girl. Kurumu grinned, glancing at the front doors for classes three and four. She wondered if Mr. Nagamushi would scold them in English for making too much noise.
"You know… I never asked whom you guys got paired up with in lab. I know Mr. Hakuru pairs everyone up in alphabetical order, so you can't be together."
Asuka smirked, crossing her arms.
"I'm with Moe and Nukugata. They're both so timid and useless that I have to do everything."
"Everyone is timid compared to you."
"Yea, whatever. Chisa has Midori and that boring guy whom sits in front of me in class."
"Mr. Mamorinuku."
Asuka waved her hand dismissively at Kakeru.
"I knew his name."
"I'm with Asakira and Aida."
"Who's Aida?"
"Just some guy in our class."
Kurumu nodded, not really caring.
"Isn't Midori in the fashion club? Why doesn't she stick with you and Goto?"
Kakeru shrugged with an uneasy smile as Nozomi wagged a finger at Kurumu.
"How'd things turn out with Morioka last night?"
"Nozomi said there's a rumor that your senior is slashing up girls' clothing."
"Yea… We did figure everything out last night. I'm not going to lie for him though. He didn't do it, but you could say it's his fault that those red mist attacks were happening."
"Oh? Did you catch the real culprit?"
Kurumu grinned at Nozomi, nodding.
"We did. And they agreed to stop."
"That's good. I know Nikki will be relieved to hear that."
"So who did it?"
Kurumu smirked, tapping Asuka's nose.
"That's not important."
Nozomi paused with a frown.
"Hey. We spoke with Coach last night and she was under the impression that Mika was sent home. But when we visited with Chiku later on, she said Mika was not in her room."
Kurumu sighed heavily.
"Yea… According to Ginei, Hajihachi is being held hostage by Lord Chiki."
"Hostage?!"
Kurumu shrugged at the shocked expressions both girls favored her.
"That's what he said. He's got Hajihachi and a couple other students locked up in prison. He also has two of the PSC juniors in there."
"What the hell is he doing?"
"Do the teachers know about this?"
The door to class four slid open. The ashen haired Mrs. Sunao stepped out with her tiny nose twitching with annoyance. She stalked by them, shaking her head.
"You girls are too noisy."
"Sorry, Mrs. Sunao."
Kurumu murmured an apology with the other two as they all bowed slightly to the flustered teacher. Asuka quickly straightened up and hopped through the open door, gesturing excitedly as Yaisoku slipped out of the classroom behind her. The huge Munemoshi lumbered out on the small tennis girl's heels.
"Yuu. We're this way."
Kurumu offered a slight wave to Yaisoku as a trio of guys exited the back door of class four. The girl with the numerous black braids nodded at her before stalking off towards the cafeteria. She was one of three girls whom had attended gym yesterday from class four, the others being Taijin and Nomura. It had been difficult to finish that scarf yesterday without Orochi around but at least Juri had kept Sakamori off her.
Juri was giving school one more week since the archery club had officially joined the boycott. And now that some male class reps had joined the movement, more guys were following suit. Both Shouhei and Ichiboku were absent today.
"I'm going to take Kakeru with me to the other door. I'll see what our coach has to say about this prison thing after practice."
Kurumu nodded at Nozomi as the girl started off.
"I'll see you in gym."
Kurumu turned about and smiled as Asuka returned with her tall friend.
"Hey Taijin."
"Ms. Kurono."
"I didn't ask but did you two do well in your meet over the weekend?"
"We got second in the relay."
Kurumu grinned at the blonde's proud declaration.
"I didn't know you were in a relay."
"Mhm. The 100 meter relay. Real fast paced."
"What events are you in again?"
"Discus and javelin."
"Which is dumb. You should try one of the jumping events."
"I can't jump."
"You can't throw."
Taijin frowned, settling her weight on her back foot.
"I'm not that good at anything. I only joined because you insisted."
Kurumu smirked, vaguely recalling Taijin having told her that long ago. Asuka had done most of the talking for the first two interviews Kurumu had done for the track article.
"So is the relay your only event?"
"Naw. I'm also in the 100 meter but the competition in that is fierce. I can't even beat our anchor."
"Anchor?"
"For our relay. I don't know how Hatsuko can move so fast."
"Hatsuko?"
Asuka nodded, absently cupping her slight bosom.
"It's unfair. Shouldn't the extra chest baggage slow that bitch down?"
Kurumu smirked, knowing the remark was aimed at Hatsuko's race.
"Ota. You're anchor is Ota."
"I'm off the blocks better than the other two so I get to go first. But I can't beat Hatsuko at anything."
"If you're in the hundred, don't you race against Nikki?"
"Nikki doesn't know how to pace herself. I easily overtake her."
"But it's a sprint."
"Yea. And I'm twelve centimeters shorter than her and I beat her by a whole stride last Saturday. She slows down way too much for a dash."
Kurumu shrugged, having no opinion as she glanced at the door upon the sound of it opening. Mr. Nagamushi strolled out, wearing shades over his eyes and a black suit over a soft blue dress shirt.
"Ladies."
They bowed in response as he stalked off. Kurumu tentatively took a step towards the door, nodding at Izanai and Tomisaki whom both exited the room within seconds of the teacher's departure.
"Hatoko and Suzume are our middle runners."
Kurumu paused at the door, glancing at Asuka's grin.
"I didn't know that."
"Mhm. They don't run in the dash individually though. They both try to do the 400, but there's tons of good runners in that."
"Hey Kamitsuku."
Kamitsuku chuckled, pausing shy of the door.
"What are you up to?"
"Nothing. Just eating with Asuka's group today."
"Ms. Kurono!"
Ikazuchi bounded over to the door, grinning wide.
"Do you think you'll write an article about our team making the nationals?"
Kurumu giggled at the hopeful glimmer in his electric blue eyes, nodding.
"I was thinking I should."
Kamitsuku chuckled, slipping between her and Asuka.
"I'll see you later."
Kurumu nodded as the kappa departed.
"Are you still obsessing over that?"
Yougan strolled up to his friend's side, shaking his head.
"Of course I am. Going to nationals is a big deal."
"I heard all about it from Abe yesterday."
"It's on the first of October. You'll come, won't you?"
Kurumu hesitated to answer. She smiled at Suzume whom approached her with a curious look.
"I'm eating with you today."
"We can make room for you at our table like last time."
Kurumu glanced up at Ikazuchi's grin, shaking her head. The bell rang, officially starting the lunch hour.
"I wasn't talking to you."
Hatoko huffed as she strut over to join them.
"Nothing new. This guy yaps all day long."
"Not to you, Ms. Hanetsume."
"Good. We going?"
Kurumu nodded, retreating back out of the room with Asuka at her side. Taijin fell in step on Asuka's other side as Suzume and Hatoko followed on their heels.
"You didn't answer my question."
Kurumu laughed as Ikazuchi kept up with them. An amused Yougan tagged along.
"I still need to check with a coach to see if I'll be allowed to attend an event like that."
"Weren't you banned from sports events?"
Kurumu nodded at Suzume.
"In Kengamine. I have no idea if every school would do that."
"I already asked coach about that. He said there shouldn't be a problem if you don't blatantly interact with the officials or the other team."
Kurumu snorted at Ikazuchi.
"Why would you do that?"
"Because it bothered me when you first told us about your ban a couple weeks ago."
Kurumu smirked as they neared the crossover between classes five and eight.
"That's sweet, but I'm still going to ask him myself."
"Don't you trust me?"
"Nope."
The other girls giggled as Ikazuchi feigned a chest injury.
"Couldn't pay me to watch baseball. Boring game."
"I agree. Worthless sport."
Ikazuchi wagged his finger at Yougan.
"Baseball can be very exciting."
Kurumu smirked, recalling Abe's enthusiasm.
"Yes. I heard all about your thrilling loss to Imoshinai. They were down to their last strike and the guy got a lucky shot out of the park."
Ikazuchi snickered as they started down the stairs.
"I wouldn't say that. He was the first batter and he belted the first pitch out of the park. They were the home team, so the game ended with that."
Kurumu frowned.
"Is that so?"
"It would have been cool if it had come down to that, but it still ended as a one run game."
Kurumu doubted Ikazuchi would know why Kumiko had not bothered to correct Abe's wild story. While the girls had a bunch of free time after their Saturday loss to Shimote, Kumiko had not admitted to watching the boys play on Sunday. She had only confirmed that the boys had crushed Sekisei on Saturday, squeaked out a one run win against Nakamune and lost a one run game to Imoshinai.
"Why are these two still following us?"
"Because this is the way to the cafeteria."
Hatoko huffed at Yougan, shaking her head.
"Coach said that we would have one bus for anyone wishing to cheer us on. I would very much like you to watch us play."
"Where is nationals?"
"They're hosting it in Tenfuku."
Kurumu perked up at the familiar name.
"That's in Tokyo."
"Well… the prefecture. I understand that Tenfuku is near Mount Odake."
Kurumu mulled over the idea of convincing Moka to tag along with her to this event. That man whom claimed to be Moka's father had said he lived in Tenfuku. She wondered if Moka had ever gotten a response to that letter she had sent him.
"I will think about it."
"That's good enough for me."
Kurumu chuckled as they reached the bottom of the stairs.
"Why don't you extend that invitation to Asuka?"
Ikazuchi snickered as they angled towards the end of the lunch line which had already stretched to the second door to the home economics room.
"I don't think this little lady is interested in me."
"I'm not. Kurumu forgets that I have regionals that day."
Kurumu flinched, feeling silly to have even brought it up.
"Yea. My mistake."
"Besides. I can't forsake my Mini Minx. My heart and soul belong to her."
Yougan chuckled as they lined up at the end.
"You're heart and soul will be very lonely."
Kurumu smiled, sucking in a deep breath.
"Maybe I should attend your regionals instead."
"Hey now. Going to nationals is a much bigger deal than track regionals."
"I don't have any friends on the baseball team."
The girls giggled at the wounded expression Ikazuchi made.
"What does that make me then?"
"A loli lover."
"Degenerate."
"A potential mate for Asuka."
Asuka wagged a finger at Taijin.
"I'm not mating with this jerk. He had his chance."
Ikazuchi chuckled, patting Asuka's head.
"I'm sorry, little one. I didn't have any candies on me at the time."
Kurumu had to cover her smile while Hatoko openly snickered at the remark. Asuka swiped at his hands, advancing on him to pound his chest five or six times as he stumbled back against Yougan. Both boys chuckled at her ire.
"You've angered the loli."
"Shall I pick you up?"
Suzume giggled, stepping between Asuka and the tall boy.
"Leave her alone, Mr. Ikazuchi."
"You're kind of tiny too."
Suzume pouted as Ikazuchi patted her head.
"I'm average height for a girl my age."
"Yea. So am I."
Ikazuchi chuckled, rubbing his chest.
"Maybe true. But you can't deny that you both have certain attributes that make you seem younger."
Kurumu sighed at his cruel playfulness.
"I hope you didn't go to their track meeting to tease them like this."
Hatoko snorted.
"Was worse."
Kurumu frowned at the boys. Yougan held his hands up defensively.
"I was only a witness."
"Et tu, Brute?"
Suzume suddenly grinned, beckoning to the stairs.
"Over here, Kiki."
Kurumu's heart fluttered. A wave of relief washed over her upon seeing Kiki and Michiko walking away from the bottom of the stairs. Kurumu turned a smile upon the two boys.
"You don't mind if they join us?"
"Not at all."
Kurumu nodded her thanks as Hatoko huffed. Kiki and Michiko came over, smiling apologetically as they slipped in with them.
"I didn't expect to see you."
Kurumu grinned at Kiki.
"I'm keeping an old promise to Asuka."
"It's crazy that I have to guilt her into having lunch with her friends."
"In all fairness, Kurumu has many friends."
"Apparently I'm not one of them."
Kurumu pouted at Ikazuchi's feigned protest.
"That's not very fair."
"What's not fair about it?"
"I don't think of most guys as friends."
Hatoko frowned at her.
"Ya seem quick matching folks up for not liking guys."
"It's not like I hate guys."
"Yea. She's not you."
"Fuck ya, peacock."
"It's more like… every guy sort of wants me."
"That sounds a bit full of yourself."
Kurumu pouted at Asuka.
"I'm being serious. As a succubus, I feel it when a guy looks at me and thinks about doing sexy stuff to me. Almost every guy on campus regards me that way."
Ikazuchi nodded thoughtfully, stroking his chin. As he did this, he also had some steamy thoughts about her which she could tell he was deliberately entertaining.
"I can see your point."
"That wasn't permission to do it. It's often a passing thought. Most guys aren't creeps about it."
Yougan chuckled, jostling Ikazuchi by the shoulder.
"Busted."
"Yea, but that doesn't mean you can't be friends with a guy."
Kurumu took in a deep breath.
"If I asked you out, would you turn me down?"
"Of course not."
"And that's why we can't be friends."
Yougan frowned.
"Hold on. There's nothing wrong with dating a friend."
"Could you be friends with a guy that wants to fuck you?"
"Well… I'm not gay…"
Ikazuchi chuckled at Yougan's drawled response.
"I think I would enjoy being friends with a girl that wants my body."
Hatoko snorted.
"As if ya be friends with a willing girl."
"I wouldn't want us to stay friends. But if I had a girlfriend, I think I could restrain myself."
"That is an admirable response."
"Don't ya fawn over him for that."
Kiki frowned at Hatoko's angry warning.
"I was merely acknowledging his sense of loyalty."
Kurumu smiled, thinking about how many guys she hung out with. She was not close to any of them. Not like she was with girls.
"It's difficult knowing that every guy would agree to date me. How can I truly be friends with any guy if the only thing keeping them at bay is my relationship with Tsukune?"
"I believe you're overthinking this. Friends can always become lovers."
"But lovers can't always go back to being friends."
Kurumu shivered at Suzume's soft response. While Suzume had not gone all the way in a physical sense, the girl had spent years thinking her future was with the young man she had been dating for years. Now that it was over, Suzume doubted she would ever speak with Shuiro again unless it was by chance.
"I'm glad you made it to school today."
Kiki smiled sheepishly, fussing with one of her russet tails.
"Yes. I spent last night in more supportive company."
"What does that mean?"
Suzume giggled, gesturing at her friend.
"You know how Mr. Morioka told her the whereabouts of the kimono club seniors? Well Kiki stayed the night with them."
Kiki nodded, blushing.
"I felt awkward even suggesting that I might go to school when neither of them planned to. I was somewhat relieved when Suzume came to my rescue last night."
"She would have stayed with them if I hadn't."
"Dumb bird."
"I didn't want to seem ungrateful or apathetic about their concerns."
Kurumu grinned at the flustered girl.
"Does this mean that you've finished your kimono article?"
"Not quite. But I could write it up today in the computer lab after school."
Kurumu mulled that over for a moment. Glancing at Michiko, she shook her head.
"I'm doing my gymnastics photos today. There's also a chance that Ginei will drop by, so you could ask him to look over your notes if you think he should before you actually write it."
"Is Akashiya's sister showing up?"
Kurumu frowned at Michiko.
"I don't believe so. She's got practice with her new fencing club."
"Do you think we will release our next paper before the end of the month?"
Kurumu shrugged at Kiki.
"Ginei has no idea what we will be doing with Lord Chiki on the loose."
"What does Lord Chiki have to do with this?"
"Seems to be upset at Ginei for his crimes against women."
"Good. Maybe prison teaches that dog the error of his ways."
Kurumu chuckled at Hatoko's gruff response.
"I do know that tomorrow night I need to do my laundry and I may as well put my new laptop to use."
"You have a laptop?"
Kurumu grinned at Ikazuchi, nodding.
"A perk of being brought into the Shuzen household as a servant."
"Sign me up."
Ikazuchi snickered at Yougan.
"I didn't have you pegged for having a thing for vampires."
"I get bossed around by girls already. May as well get some free stuff out of it."
Kurumu was mildly curious what girls bossed Yougan around.
"Anyways. I'll try to knock out my articles tomorrow night."
"Don't forget about mentioning our trip to nationals."
Kurumu smiled as she thought about everything she should try to do tomorrow.
"I also need to print out photos for a friend."
"And you own a printer?"
"Is there an application I need to fill out?"
"Okay. Spill it."
Yougan smirked at her.
"What?"
"Your experience that makes you qualified for being a vampire's whipping boy."
Ikazuchi snickered as Yougan frowned.
"Well… I'm a little brother."
"That doesn't mean-"
"I have four older sisters."
The girls all giggled. While Kurumu was unsure how this qualified him, she laughed all the same.
Kurumu looked up from her notebook, smiling at Michiko. She had decided to do Michiko after Touzoku and Kochimaru, mostly because she wanted to ask a few things without the others around. The other first years had started their stretch routine. Despite participating in the boycott, Kochimaru, Amesuki and Watakoma had all shown up for practice. None had wanted to miss out on having their pictures taken for the article.
"I know you'll want me to keep your love interests blank."
"Course."
"How are things with Noboru?"
Michiko shrugged. Like every other girl in gymnastics, she was wearing that black, sleeveless unitard. The skin tight garment betrayed how mature her figure was.
"Fine. Haven't spoken with him since dinner last Wednesday."
"I thought you would ask him out."
"Naw. Thought bout it but timing wrong. What with boycott and all. Feels off to fret over it now."
"Are you worried that he'll say no?"
"Yea. Said it at lunch. There be rumors about the school getting shut down. Doubt he wants to start something with that looming on the horizon."
Kurumu nodded, glancing at the other girls in the room. Most of them were first years though Roniushi was hanging around with Ms. Rin, Ginei and Sangi. Both had their cameras hanging from black straps about their necks. The wide grin on Ginei's face worried Kurumu.
Kiki had opted against her invitation, deciding to assist Moka instead. The two were going to visit the computer lab after the interview with Ms. Huang to get their articles typed up while waiting for Kokoa's fencing club practice to conclude. Ishiko was spectating Kokoa's progress.
Unable to do anything more with his article due to Ms. Nekonome's absence, Tsukune had gone home for the day with Mizore keeping watch over him. Kana had walked with them, having finished two comics which were on the thumb drive she had given Kurumu to pass on to Ginei for review. Kana's other two friends had joined the boycott now that the band concert was over, so it was just her and Touzoku now.
Yukari was planning to write her articles tonight. The weekly town meetings happened Sunday evenings but she would not be allowed to observe one without the Headmaster. And he had been requested to not attend any more meetings because Lord Chiki was hauling in town elders to determine if they were accomplices to the Headmaster's crimes.
Or she was going to read another volume of Gravitation.
"Kurono?"
"Sorry. Spaced out there."
"Anything else ya need me for?"
Kurumu glanced over her notes. She had already asked for favorites and future plans.
"No. I think we're done."
The girl lacked any serious plans for college, claiming her parents lacked the means to do that. She had siblings whom needed the support more. She was toying with the idea of becoming a nutritionist or dietitian, having already spoken with Ms. Uchikawa about it. It required college so she was going to take a crack at that Happily Ever After program.
"K. See you."
Kurumu nodded, clutching her notebook to her chest. Michiko stalked off to start her stretches as Kurumu wandered over to the trio of second years.
She imagined it was still before six thirty. Ginei had been waiting for them in the Housemother's office when they arrived about an hour ago. After having the girls change, Ginei and Sangi had handled the pictures while Kurumu had interviewed Ms. Rin. Then she had interviewed Kochimaru when they did the pictures of Ms. Rin with the older girls.
Having stopped by his room before pestering the Housemother, Ginei had changed into that pink, short sleeved, satin dress shirt which he had tucked in a pair of olive, cargo pants. He snickered at Roniushi, gesturing for her while holding his camera. The pigtailed girl grinned, placing her hands behind her head to thrust out her modest bosom. Clothed in that stretchy fabric, every sensual curve of the okami girl was blatantly defined.
"Aren't you done taking pictures?"
Sangi grinned as Kurumu joined them. The brunette was still dressed for school but had set her jacket aside in the corner of the room.
"Ginei is being a creep."
Roniushi smirked, placing her hand on her hip and tilting her head for the camera.
"As if that's something new."
Ginei chuckled, snapping a couple shots of Roniushi.
"I need something to keep my heart burning through the night."
Kurumu snorted, glancing at Ms. Rin. As far as Kurumu knew, Ms. Rin was the only teacher whom would wear a sundress to school, though she would often wear a jacket with it to cover her shoulders. Her simple, white garment was being held up by her bosom instead of its thin straps. The fabric was loose about her waist but taut at the hips before hanging down to her calves. Her chocolate tresses were bound in twin tails which danced upon her curvy derriere.
"I hope he isn't causing you any trouble."
"Mr. Morioka is behaving better than he did the last time he paid my club a visit."
Ginei chuckled, turning his camera upon the instructor.
"What do I have to do to get you to squeeze that amazing body into your gymnastics gear?"
Ms. Rin giggled, waving her hand dismissively.
"You should save that energy to appeal to your girlfriend."
"Do you have a spare that I could give her?"
"I keep those in my studio."
"Perhaps I could swing by your place later tonight. I'm sure you could teach me much in the arts of pleasing a woman."
Ms. Rin smirked at him. She turned her amused, pink eyes on Kurumu.
"I stand corrected."
Sangi chuckled, holding out her camera's memory card to Kurumu.
"Here. You'll probably want my pictures over any pictures he's taking."
"I have plenty of tasteful pictures."
Kurumu grinned, taking the memory drive from Sangi, though she had no place to put it. Her schoolbag and jacket were over in the corner by Sangi's jacket.
"Do you think Lord Chiki will let me visit Mika?"
"I don't want you anywhere near that prison."
Roniushi pouted at him.
"She's my friend."
"That guy is likely to throw you in the cell with her."
"What's your opinion on this?"
Ms. Rin sighed, shrugging.
"I don't know what he is up to but I've never liked him. He did things to Inari…"
She trailed off, shaking her head.
"I don't want any of you girls around that guy."
Kurumu nodded, fiddling with the drive.
"What are you going to do about this?"
"I'm going to help my lovely club member finish her article."
"I meant with Mika."
Ginei sighed dramatically.
"I think I might have to give up on her. Are you free?"
Sangi laughed, smacking his shoulder with the back of her hand as Roniushi pouted. Kurumu shook her head, stalking off to the corner to put away her things.
"We're being serious."
"Miya thinks we could break Mika out of there, but what would be the point? We have to wait this thing out until those killers are found or Lord Chiki gets rid of the Headmaster."
"Are those girls dead?"
Ginei nodded as Kurumu stuffed the memory card into the pocket of her jacket. Having stuffed the notebook into her schoolbag, she zipped it up before returning to the group.
"Ms. Yoshino told me that the first two are. No idea about Yoshizawa."
"You girls can't talk about this. Inari was very adamant that only the PSC members should know."
"The Headmaster should have come clean on this when the boycott picked up."
Ms. Rin frowned at him.
"You shouldn't have mentioned it to Mr. Kaiketsu. Now your rumors have Lord Chiki arresting people."
"It was a slip of the tongue. While I feel bad that I might have gotten him locked up, people were already talking about those two being dead before I confirmed anything."
"But a rumor from the newspaper club president has more credibility than a random student."
Ginei sighed at Sangi's casual remark.
"Yes. The curse of being popular and attractive."
"Does Ms. Yoshino know about Ms. Sabaku and Mr. Utsubari?"
"How would I know? Inari hasn't shared a bed with me since Lord Chiki addressed the students."
Ginei chuckled, taking a picture of Ms. Rin.
"Allow me to help you fight off the bitter depression of sleeping alone."
Ms. Rin smirked at him.
"There are things that only women can understand about each other."
"But only a man can fully appreciate the way a woman looks."
"I'll give you a free pass to have me do whatever you wish if Kurumu uses a single one of your photos in her article."
Ginei grinned at Sangi.
"Are you sure you want to make that bet?"
"I have faith that my pictures are more tasteful than the poses you had the girls do for yours."
"As the editor in chief of our paper, I do have a say in what gets published."
"I'm curious what you would have her do."
Ginei stroked his chin after Kurumu's remark.
"That is a good question. Something humiliating might be fun."
"Like having her call you Honey."
Sangi snickered, shaking her head.
"Did you seriously make Zanzou do that?"
"It was all part of a plan to flush out the red mist slasher."
Roniushi smirked.
"Are you sure that wasn't you?"
"Yea. Seems odd that you would pay for all the slashed up clothes."
Kurumu laughed at their suspicions.
"While he's innocent of the slashing, he's the reason it was happening."
"That's a school uniform for me and some track gear for the Ohira cousins."
"Last I heard, you were broke. How are you going to get the money for all of this?"
"I have my ways."
Kurumu eyed his grin suspiciously.
"Are you going to have Zanzou pay for it?"
"You better not take advantage of that girl."
"I did get her to wear a dress."
Both girls shared a glance.
"That's new."
"I'd like to see that."
"If one of you girls would give me access to the upper floors, I would gladly show her to you."
Kurumu smirked at his grin.
"She's staying with Okimune."
"Ruining all my fun."
"I think you have had more than enough of that."
"There's no such thing as too much fun."
Roniushi huffed, poking his shoulder.
"There is when your girlfriend is sitting in a prison cell because of you."
"Nobody said being my girlfriend would be easy."
"That's an understatement."
Ginei grinned, snapping another picture of Ms. Rin.
"I'm curious if Ms. Yoshino has shared any other sensitive information with you in bed."
The teacher smirked at him.
"The only thing sensitive in my bed is me."
"As a reporter, I must investigate the truth of that statement."
A loud slap sounded out when Roniushi's palm struck his cheek. The girl flinched, withdrawing her hand quickly as he laughed at her.
"You shouldn't flirt with a teacher."
"Hey now. I was told words were allowed."
"That wasn't a compliment."
"Yea, Ginei. That was a proposition for sex."
"It's still words."
"Words didn't flip my skirt yesterday."
Ginei wagged a finger at Kurumu's smirk.
"You can't say defamatory things like that around these two. They'll believe you."
"Because that's your reputation."
Sangi snickered, nodding in agreement with Roniushi.
"It's not even slander at this point."
Ginei sighed dramatically, shaking his head.
"I guess you leave me no choice."
In a blur of motion, Ginei appeared behind Roniushi and tugged the girl back to him with an arm about her waist and the other about her bosom.
"One false move and the pretty girl gets it."
Roniushi giggled, placing a hand on each of his arms.
"What are you doing?"
"I'm taking you hostage. I won't let you go until they agree to restore my good name."
Roniushi smirked as Sangi snickered.
"What am I going to get if they don't do as you want?"
"For starters, you can get what you're grinding on."
"I'm not grinding-"
Roniushi frowned.
"Are you hard?"
"Are you interested?"
Roniushi huffed, rolling her eyes.
"Kajiru is bigger."
"Do I have to beat the incest out of you?"
"It won't work with that puny package."
"I'm willing to keep at it till you think otherwise."
"Does Mika know you're this small?"
"That's it."
Roniushi stiffened and gasped as Ginei's hands moved in a blur.
"Stop!"
A boom rocked the room as Ginei was shoved through the wall. Antai hopped back, clasping her hands over her mouth as Roniushi collapsed to her knees with flush cheeks, heaving out her breaths. Ginei's legs hung out on this side of the wall.
"I am so sorry."
Sangi chuckled as she held a hand down to Roniushi. The girl looked up with a daze in her cerulean eyes.
"You okay?"
"Telling Mika."
"Are you dead?"
Ginei coughed and groaned in response to the concerned sylph.
"Nothing to see, girls. Keep up with your stretches."
Not a single one of the first years looked interested in obeying their instructor. Akegawa took a couple timid steps closer while Touzoku quickly bounded over to Antai's side.
"That was cool, Antai. I didn't even see you hit him."
Antai laughed sheepishly, rubbing the back of her neck.
"I thought he was attacking Ms. Roniushi."
"I thought he was too."
Roniushi staggered to her feet. Leaning on Sangi, she wagged a finger at the new hole in the wall.
"Drag that dog out."
"Yes, Ms. Roniushi."
Ms. Rin chuckled as Antai and Touzoku hauled a dazed werewolf out of the wreckage.
"Unless you have more to do, I suggest Ms. Sangi and Ms. Kurono take Mr. Morioka somewhere else so we can properly start our practice."
"No. Teach him a lesson."
Ms. Rin frowned at Roniushi.
"I don't think that's-"
"On the floor."
Touzoku and Antai shared a confused glance. Shrugging, they dropped the werewolf on the floor. The okami girl pushed away from Sangi, stalking over to the groaning boy.
"Roll over, dog."
Roniushi put her foot on Ginei, pushing him onto his back. His head lolled about and he let out a slight laugh. He held a hand up weakly to the flush girl.
"Want on top?"
Roniushi slammed her foot against his crotch, causing him to groan. He grabbed her by the ankle as she started to grind her heel.
"You should be neutered."
"Please. Think of Mika's children."
"She can get those from someone else."
"If you're done flirting, could you go join the seniors?"
"That doesn't look like flirting, Ms. Rin."
Roniushi yelped when Ginei yanked her ankle towards him. The girl tumbled backwards on top of him, the back of her head hitting his knees. He laughed as he wagged her foot.
"Silly girl. This isn't how you get on top of a guy."
"Shut up."
"How would you like it if I ground my palm into your crotch?"
"That would be criminal, Ginei."
"It sounds like we arrived at the right time."
Kurumu whirled about as Lord Chiki strolled through the open door. The tall man had silver streaks in his shoulder length, scarlet hair. Like the four men whom strolled in behind him, the Fairy Tale officer was garbed in the black attire representing Fairy Tale, though his trim was golden while theirs was white.
"What are you doing here?"
Ms. Rin fell back a step, holding an arm protectively in front of Kurumu.
"I am here to apprehend a wanted criminal."
Sangi shook her head, gesturing at Ginei whom was still on the floor.
"He's just playing around. There's no crime here."
"Unless you count sexual assault."
Antai held her hands up at the sudden attention.
"What? He did do that."
Ginei chuckled, pushing Roniushi off of him. Both rolled over onto their knees before getting up.
"I will add that to his list of crimes."
Kurumu flinched as a small hand touched her arm. She smiled at Kochimaru whom had settled in beside her. Both Amesuki and Watakoma were hovering behind Michiko.
"List? What else are you planning to accuse him of?"
"Let's start with treason."
Ginei chuckled, patting wall debris off his clothes.
"That's new."
Kurumu studied the four brutes behind Lord Chiki. Every single one of them was taller than Ginei. The bald one closest to the door was the broadest of the bunch. There was no way anyone would slip by him. The stringy haired guy slightly ahead of him had his broad nose pierced and several studs lining the lobes of his huge, floppy ears.
"I have spoken with Mr. Kitajima. He confirmed that you and your friends assaulted a Fairy Tale office."
"Why does that matter?"
"Because I finally read your paper. You have some audacity, Mr. Morioka. Bragging about taking down the branch office of Fairy Tale in Okinawa."
"Our actions were authorized by Mrs. Shuzen, your president."
Lord Chiki snorted at her.
"Why would the President authorize the annihilation of a Fairy Tale office? That is ridiculous."
"Didn't you read the paper?! Ginei said it was a rebellious faction."
"And why should I believe that? The official report about the loss of the Okinawa branch office is that it was a terrorist attack."
"Stay out of it, Kurumu. You weren't part of that fight."
Kurumu regarded Ginei with shock.
"What are you doing?"
"If you read my article, then you would know whom participated in that fight."
"Yes. I have already apprehend Mr. Koike Kousuke and Mr. Miyamoto Haiji."
"This is nonsense!"
"You will be silent, Ms. Kurono. The newspaper club has already admitted to being in Okinawa at the time. It is not a stretch to assume you were also involved in this treasonous attack upon Fairy Tale. Or perhaps I shall take you in as a fellow conspirator against this school."
Sangi stepped around Kurumu, shaking her head.
"Now that is stupid. How is she conspiring against the school?"
"By helping the Headmaster cover up his crimes against your fellow students and the good people of Mononoke. I am well aware that Mr. Morioka here knows those girls aren't missing."
Ms. Rin stepped between Ginei and Lord Chiki.
"Those girls are missing. Anything you might have heard otherwise are just rumors."
Kurumu glanced at the other guards, feeling the tense atmosphere. The shaggy haired guy closest to her had a wild look in his crimson eyes. He was thinner than his companions, though not frail by any means. The guy behind him had dark bangs hovering over his eyes. This brute was the shortest of the group and had huge, square shoulders. His long sleeves were on the verge of rupture.
"But that isn't true, Ms. Rin. I have a young man in my care whom has already confirmed their demise."
Ginei chuckled, shaking his head.
"I was only speculating with Kaiketsu."
"Not Mr. Kaiketsu. I am talking about Mr. Utsubari."
Ms. Rin scowled.
"I'm sure with enough torture, you could get anyone to say what you want."
"Torture is such an incorrectly used word."
"What else would you call it? Violent persuasion?"
Lord Chiki clucked his tongue.
"I see you haven't changed. You're still a vile, useless bitch standing in my way."
"It's not my fault you keep walking in my direction."
Ginei laughed, breaking the serious mood. Kurumu cracked a smile. Lord Chiki huffed with displeasure.
"There is a conspiracy in this school. According to Mr. Utsubari, the PSC was instructed to dispose of the bodies of three girls. I have confirmed that their parents have not been informed of their deaths, so this is a grievous affront to their families."
Ginei shook his head with wide eyes.
"I knew nothing about that."
"You will come with me, Mr. Morioka. I will determine exactly what you know."
"By beating a confession out of him."
Lord Chiki sneered at Ms. Rin.
"I should take you in for harboring a wanted criminal. Know that if you resist, Mr. Morioka, that I am authorized to use lethal force."
Ginei turned his shocked expression on the teacher.
"Did they dispose of their bodies?"
"Not now, Mr. Morioka. How am I harboring a known criminal? I wasn't aware that you were even looking for him."
Lord Chiki laughed at the gymnastics instructor.
"Ignorance of the law is no excuse to break it."
Ginei managed a laugh, shaking his head.
"Don't worry, Ms. Rin. I'll go peacefully."
"Wait!"
Ginei grinned at Kurumu.
"He's already threatened to use lethal force. It's best not to aggravate the situation."
"But-"
"Don't test me, Ms. Kurono. I am the prefectural officer of Niigata."
Kurumu scowled at the haughty officer.
"I wouldn't care if you were arresting him for all the times he's committed sexual assault. But he is not guilty of treason or conspiracy."
Lord Chiki shrugged indifferently.
"If it makes you feel better, we can officially say that is the reason."
Ginei chuckled, stepping around Ms. Rin and holding his wrists up.
"What is the penalty for that?"
"Depends on severity and frequency."
Ginei nodded at the stringy haired guy as shackles were fixed about his wrists.
"Ginei. Don't go."
"What's the point in running? I do have one request though."
"And what would that be?"
Ginei grinned at Lord Chiki.
"Could you put me in the same cell as Ms. Hajihachi? She is my girlfriend."
Lord Chiki snorted, turning his gaze away. The stringy haired guard knelt down to shackle Ginei's ankles.
"I believe that would be cruel to Ms. Hajihachi."
"You still have her, right? Haven't accidentally meted out justice upon her?"
"I have kept her safe from you. I will release her after you are secured."
Ginei pouted as the guard chained the shackles together.
"That's no fun."
"Take him away."
The stringy haired guard tugged on the chain, causing Ginei to stumble. The big brute in the doorway backed out, allowing them passage.
"Hey now. I can walk on my own."
Ginei chuckled as he was led out of the room. The other two guards and Lord Chiki remained where they stood. The big brute returned to his place in the doorway.
"You have your man. Now go."
Lord Chiki sneered at Ms. Rin.
"Unfortunately, that's not how this works."
"What are you talking about?"
"You are under arrest for harboring a criminal."
"Fuck you!"
Sangi hopped in front of Ms. Rin, shaking her head.
"That wasn't the deal!"
"This was never a negotiation with Mr. Morioka."
Lord Chiki grabbed Sangi and pulled her aside as the wild eyed guard and the one with the long bangs stepped forward to apprehend Ms. Rin.
"Watch her legs."
Ms. Rin lashed out with a kick, but the wild eyed guy easily darted around the teacher. Before Ms. Rin could do anything else, she was grabbed from behind and hauled off her feet.
"Stop it!"
"Take this wench."
Lord Chiki shoved Sangi to the big brute in the doorway. He strode towards the kicking and flailing Ms. Rin as the other girls all scurried out of the way. The big guy with the bangs over his eyes was looking for an opening to put shackles on Ms. Rin's ankles.
"Let go of me."
Kurumu stepped up to touch the guard before he succeeded. She shook her head.
"Please stop this. She's done nothing wrong."
"Don't look in her eyes!"
The warning was meaningless. Two heels found the chest of the guy whose eyes she had never seen. He toppled over backwards.
"Stay out of this, Ms. Kurono!"
She turned to catch the heavy hand of Lord Chiki across the temple. She staggered as her vision went dark and her thoughts scattered. Listless, she fell into the beckoning oblivion.
