Chapter 1

The scream went through the base as Jak sat up in bed, sweat over his coal skin as his red eyes glowed in fright from the nightmare he had. It had ten days after the attack from the vampire metal head. His life had changed so much in the last ten days. His thirst was almost out of control. The only thing he could think about was Kay and her soft, pale skin. His fangs ached as he fell back down onto his bed, taking in large gasp of air into his already sore lungs. He was not going to be able to control his hunger back much longer. The drug was only working to hide the fact he was a vampire now. Not the hunger itself. Daxter and Kay didn't even now what was happening to him. Torn had promised to keep it a secret but even Jak knew that Torn was going to be unable to keep it a secret much longer. He could already hear Daxter freaking and see Kay's worried look as he got up from his bed and walked to his open window. Jak knew that they cared but he couldn't handle how they would react to it. And he thought the fact Dark was bad. Jak brushed his messy hair out of his eyes and sighed as he reached for the pack of cigarettes and the lighter. Smoking seemed to calm him down a little and bring the pain down a little.

Lighting the cigarette, he inhaled deeply and finally started to relax as he heard a noise at his bedroom door. "Who is it?" Jak said roughly as he wasn't really in the mood to hear how smoking was bad for your lungs. 'As if I could die' thought Jak as Kay's voice came from behind the door. "Jak, are you okay? I heard you scream" said Kay as Jak cursed under his breath from bring so dumb. "I'm fine, Kay. The door is open by the way. You can come in" he said as Kay entered the room, a worried look already on her face. "Did you have another nightmare about the attack?" Kay asked as Jak gave her a slight nod. Kay saw the cigarette in his hand and her face went from worried to annoyed in a instant. "Are you smoking again?" she said as her hands went to her hips in annoyance. "Yeah it's calming me down. I'm okay though, Kay. Don't worry about it" Jak said as Kay folded her arms and her face changed again as she looked at him.

His skin was pale and deep, black bags were under this dark, blue eyes. His hair was messy and sticking up in places from tossing and turning in his bed and sweet still covered small parts of his body. "You look like shit" Kay said as Jak smirked and chuckled into his smoke. "Thanks" he said as Kay caught on to his little joke and giggled a little. Jak stopped laughing and put out his smoke as he knew that if Kay knew the truth about him, she would be able to help him with his hunger issues. "Kay, I need to tell you something. But you have to promise me that you will not freak out or tell Daxter until I'm ready to tell him myself" said Jak as Kay once again put her hands on her hips. "Okay, I promise. So, what is it?" said Kay as Jak took a deep breath and readied himself for her reaction. "The metal head that attacked me was a vampire metal head and it bit my neck. For a time, I thought it was nothing until three nights ago. Three nights ago, I drank the blood from a blood bag and take a drug that hides my vampire stuff, I guess. So, I'm kinda a vampire now on hunger drug that keeps my hunger in check. I wanted to tell but I knew you would be worried about me so I never told you but I feel that now you need to know the truth" said Jak as he looked at Kay, who was looking shocked by all the information that Jak had just told her.

'Great. That's fucking prefect, Jak. Fucking up your friendship with Kay with this secret. Fucking great' thought Jak as Kay moved closer to him until Jak felt her wrap her arms around him. He suddenly felt her shoulders shake from her crying and his night shirt was getting wet from her tears. "Kay, are you alright?" Jak said as he felt her hug him harder as he felt tears well in his own eyes as Kay looked up from his chest. "Jak, you must have felt so alone. Having to go through this alone must have been so hard. I can't imagine the pain and suffering you have gone through for the last few days. Knowing you are starving but not wanting to hurt anyone must have been really hard on you with her thirst slowly killing you" cried Kay as Jak held her tight, letting some of his tears fall from his eyes onto Kay's night gown. "I've been struggling so hard to fight back but I can't control it any longer" said Jak as his dark, blue eyes turned red and his fangs grew longer.

Kay looked at Jak as he turned away from her, covering his mouth as he felt the hunger rise in his body. His throat burned and his blood boiled in his veins. Kay reached out her hand to him as he tried to fight back. "DON'T TOUCH ME!" Jak hissed as he turned around to Kay again. Kay flinched and pulled her hand back quickly. Jak hissed as he moved closer to her, making Kay slowly stepped back until she felt the bed on the back of her legs. She had trapped herself between the bed and a already starved vampire in front of her. "Jak, please if it will make you feel better then feed from me. Please" said Kay as Jak grabbed her arms and held her in place as he breathed in deep breaths into his sore lungs. "I can't do it anymore. I'm so hungry that it hurts" gasped Jak as he fell to his knees and moaned in pain, holding his chest. Kay leaned down to him and pushed his head up to meet her eyes. "Feed on my blood, Jak" whispered Kay as she brought Jak closer to her neck and held him there.

Jak breathed in her scent. Her skin smelled like strawberries and her skin was soft and warm. Jak gasped and opened his mouth and sank his fangs into Kay's neck, drinking her blood quickly as it came into his mouth. Kay gasped in pain as she held Jak there and let him feed. Jak felt her life force enter his body as his lungs felt better and the pain slowly faded from his body. Kay felt light headed as she continued to let her friend feed on her blood. But after a while, she got worried when Jak wouldn't stop and let her go. "Jak, stop. Please. I'm getting too weak" Kay whispered as Jak stood up from the floor, still holding her and tightly held her as he continued. Kay started to pull and push him, trying to get away. But Jak's hold was too strong for her to break. Kay's eyes closed as her body gave in and Jak hissed as he released her neck at last. He looked down at Kay as she slowly opened her eyes a little and looked at him.

"Are you alright?" asked Jak as he put Kay on the bed. Kay didn't answer him. Her body was so weak and her mouth could not find any words to speak to him. She closed her eyes again and blacked out from the wave of sleep grabbed her. Hours later, Kay slowly opened her eyes as the first rays of dawn hit her face from the open window. She tried to sit up but a hand kept her laying on the bed. "How are you feeling?" asked Jak as Kay looked at him. His skin was darker and he had no bags under his eyes anymore. He was feeling better. She smiled at Jak and tried not to pass out again. "I feel like shit. But I'm okay. How about you?" she asked him as Jak chuckled and walked to the bathroom with a glass in his hand. "I feel okay. Much better than I did then a few hours ago. Thanks to you, of course" Jak said as he walked back into the room with the glass fill of cool water. Kay smiled and sat up a little to drink slowly from the glass. She still felt a little dizzy but the worst was over.

"You took a lot of my blood, Jak. I thought you weren't going to stop for a minute" said Kay as Jak rubbed the back of his neck. "Yeah, me too. But I did. Sorry about that" said Jak as Kay smiled a little at him. "It's okay, Jak. You were starving so I can't blame you" said Kay as Jak smiled back to her. They spoke for a little until they both heard Daxter and Torn waking up from their rooms. "I should get going before Daxter finds me in her room and starts a rumour that we slept together" said Kay as Jak felt his checks burn from embarrassment. "Yeah, that would be bad" said Jak as Kay turned around to ask him question before leaving his bedroom.

"Hey, Jak. How often do you need to feed on blood?" said Kay as Jak thought about it for a few seconds before answering her question. "About every three weeks, I think. It can very from vampire to vampire, I think" said Jak as Kay smiled at his reply. "How would you like a donor? As in me as your blood donor" said Kay as Jak stood there looking a little shocked. But his shocked expression turned into happiness at her response to his reply. "You can became my blood donor on one condition" said Jak as Kay looked a little confused at his reply. "And what is that?" she asked as Jak smirked a little. "You let me take you to dinner first" said Jak as Kay smiled at his condition. "It's a date" she said as she left Jak's bedroom to start the day. Jak smiled and rubbed the back of his neck and felt great about telling Kay about his secret. Their relationship was going to go to the next step.
