Votes for Me, Not for Thee
Ah, high school. A place where students go for their education. Is a typical day for these teens. Is thirty minutes before eight o clock. So, the majority of the students are outside the building chatting, playing games, or simply looking at the banners that have the face of two candidates for student body president for this school.
A teen looking at his picture in the banner smiles. He has short black hair that is styled perfectly, brown eyes, ivory skin, a clean-shaven look. He is tall with a lean psychical body despite not having much muscle to show.
He is wearing a white dress shirt, black dress pants with a brown belt, and black shoes. He also has a silver pocket watch with his last name Peterson engraved on the back.
"Pandora did a real good at the photoshoot," The teen said. "Once I become student body president, I'll make sure to be convincing on raising the art funds."
"If you become student body president. Which you won't Gabriel," Declared a female teen approaching the candidate.
The girl is five feet and seven inches tall. She has a nice lean build, light brown skin, black curly hair with dyed blonde tips, and black eyes.
She is wearing blue jeans, dark green shoes, a black shirt with a pink circle on it, and circle frame brown glasses. Lastly, a necklace around her neck with a deck of cards attached to it.
"Hey Yasmín," Gabriel greeted, not that excited to see the girl. He keeps a smile on his face. "Come again to try and convince me that I'm losing this election?"
"Of course," Yasmín said like her motivation was obvious. She looks at the picture of herself on the banner then gazes back at her opponent. "How else am I supposed to make you look like an awful person?"
Gabriel understands the rhetorical question. So, he proceeds to ask a question himself. "Why do you want to be student body president? Whenever you're with your friends you stay on the sidelines and provide unnecessary commentary."
"Because I get perks," Yasmín answered. "Free breakfast and lunch at the cafeteria. I can skip whatever classes I want when pretending to do important business stuff. But my favorite perk becoming student body president is that all those boys will do my homework to get with the most powerful woman."
"Wouldn't that be this school's director?" Gabriel pointed out.
"Pfft, as if those people will go for her," Yasmín answered then laughs. "But enough about my desires. I found a guaranteed victory for becoming student body president." She claps her hands three times.
A girl pops out of a bush nearby and stands next to Yasmín.
The teen is lean just like Yasmín but five feet and five inches. She has green eyes, warm ivory skin, light freckles across her nose, and a painted blue crescent moon on her forehead. Her hair is a reddish-brown lanky mullet at shoulder length.
Her outfit consists of a green bandana tied in an up-front Cinderella-style, dark brown crop top, dark orange palazzo pants with an intricate celestial yellow pattern, and light brown moccasins. To finish, she has two small gold hoop earrings on each of her ears.
"Greetings Gabriel. You are looking quite professional today. For today, is a day of business and decision making," The girl standing next to Yasmín spoke with a smile while being a bit ominous.
"Oh, hi Aisling," Gabriel greeted. "Are you working with Yasmín?"
"Yes, for we have common interests. Like cards," Aisling answered.
"What else?" Gabriel wondered.
Aisling blinks twice. "We like cards."
"Aisling is helping the students out by reading their palms to predict their future so none of them screw up," Yasmín stated. "At the cause of voting for me as student body president. Is a win-win. I get votes, Aisling gets to spook people."
Aisling takes Gabriel's right palm and closes her eyes acting mystically. She lets go of the candidate's palm and opens her eyes.
"You won't last six episodes," Aisling said ominously while smiling.
"Um…okay," Gabriel said weirded out.
"Face it Gabriel, you're candidate run is done. Unless you get someone famous here before three, student body president is mine," Yasmín told then laughs. "Let's go Aisling."
The two leave Gabriel alone.
"Hmm, famous people," Gabriel thought, planning an idea in his head.
"Hi Gabriel!" A girl spoked, getting out of a bush.
"Gah! Is jumping from bushes some new trend?" Gabriel wondered. Once he sees who scared him, he chuckles. "Oh, hey Erin."
Erin has hazel color eyes, a round face, pale skin, and has blonde hair that goes down to her butt. She is five feet and ten inches tall.
Her hair goes all the way down to her butt and is blonde. She is wearing an unbuttoned lab coat over her red tank top. The coat has several burn marks. The rest of her attire consists of white pants, white running shoes, cracked safety goggles on top of her head, and a satchel bag that she is holding in her right hand.
"Were you spying on my conversation with Yasmín?" Gabriel asked.
"No," Erin lied. Her goofy grin is not trying to hide it. "Maybe a little."
"Erin, we talked about this before. You need to stop getting into people's business,' Gabriel politely said while still being serious. He walks away.
Erin follows him. "Come on, you need help defeating Yasmín at the voting today. Do you think just being a nice person is going to make you the winner? You have to give people what they want."
"What people want is no homework," Gabriel stated. "And that is not one of my goals, so I'm not going to lie to my classmates and students."
"Maybe you can bring famous people to the school and have them convince the students in voting for you," Erin suggested as the two students continue to walk around the school building. "Your dad is the mayor after all."
"Wow, you really were paying attention to the conversation," Gabriel said then slightly chuckles.
The two students open doors that lead them into one of the hallways of the school. Gabriel goes to his locker room to open it. As he opens it, he talks to Erin.
"Even if I do convince my dad to bring the famous people I'm thinking about is not going to happen," Gabriel turned down the idea. "No way someone will be able to come here before three o clock."
"That's where I come in," Erin said in a sing-song voice as Gabriel takes out notebooks and a pencil case from his locker. "Meet me at my lab during lunch hour."
"Don't you mean the science lab for all students," Gabriel pointed out.
"You know what I said," Erin said then giggled. She skips around the hallway. This causes the students to look at her weirdly.
"Hope nothing bad happens," Gabriel told himself. He closes his locker room door.
Once lunch hour arrives, Gabriel enters the science lab. After closing the door, he examines the place from right to left. It is a simple classroom. You have the whiteboard. Tables and seats for students. A larger table and a black chair with four wheels next to the whiteboard belong to the teacher, who is not in the classroom.
To his left are cabinets where the materials for the science class are put inside. But what catches Gabriel's eye is Erin standing next to what could be a large machine under a white tablecloth.
"Erin, what did you do?" Gabriel asked.
"Oh this, this is just the new invention I made fifteen minutes ago," Erin answered casually.
"You skipped lunch?" Gabriel wondered.
"I don't have money to pay for my meal today, so I did this while waiting for you," Erin replied.
"What is it?" Gabriel continued with the questions.
"Behold," Erin exclaimed excitedly as she removes the cloth. "The teleport-inator!"
The teleporting machine is a silver cylinder with a downside cyan triangle in the middle. Erin presses a red button on her remote. This opens the teleporter's door.
Gabriel is amazed that Erin created this in just fifteen minutes. He notices an orange button with the words 'self-destruct' inside the teleporter.
"Um, why is there a self-destruct button inside?" Gabriel asked confused and concerned.
"Oh, that's just in case the teleporter goes rogue," Erin happily answered.
Gabriel decides to not ask any more questions. Well, maybe just one more. "How does the teleporter work?"
"I have the teleporter connected to my phone," Erin said as she takes out her phone from her white pants. "Where I put down the location I want the teleporter to transport the person to their destination."
"Does the teleporter come with the person when heading to the site?" Gabriel asked, a bit skeptical about how this machine works.
"Of course," Erin assured. "There's also a blue button inside the teleporter that allows you to come back to your first destination. Which is right here in my lab."
"Science lab," Gabriel said.
"Tomato, tomato," Erin shrugged while pronouncing tomato differently twice.
"Have you tested the teleporter?" Gabriel pondered, looking in the machine's inside.
"Nope," Erin replied happily.
"So, I'm the guinea pig," Gabriel looked at Erin deadpanned.
"Yep," Erin confirmed.
Gabriel sighs. "Well, here goes nothing." He steps inside the teleporter.
"Who are these famous people you are searching for so I can look up their location?" Erin asked.
"I was thinking of some contestants from that series Total Drama," Gabriel answered. "The show stopped after Crowstillo Island, but I feel like they are still relevant enough with our classmates and other students."
Erin uses her phone to check Sierra's blog. Sierra is the fan that got onto the show and is keeping up to date on everything after its end.
"Who are the ones you are thinking of?" Erin questioned again.
"One from the oldest cast and one from Crowstillo Island," Gabriel answered. "Going with finalists. So… Owen and Sara."
Erin tries to see if any posts from Sierra's blog reveal their location. She finds a post about Owen eating at a restaurant. "I'll give you Owen's location first. While you get him, I'll search for Sara."
"Sounds like a plan," Gabriel agreed to the idea. He closes the door of the teleporter. "I'm taking you to court if I get any side effects after this."
"I'll probably win the case since you volunteered," Erin said then giggled. "Operation getting those votes is a go."
After putting the coordinates on her phone, Erin presses the button on her remote so the teleporter can activate and send Gabriel to his destination. The machine flashes a blue light before disappearing from the classroom.
Inside a fancy restaurant, Owen is chowing down on many types of gourmet dishes. The teleport machine appears near him. He almost chokes on his food.
"Great Pyramids of Giza!" Owen exclaimed. "I knew the aliens will come after me! They must have escaped Area Fifty-one."
The teleporter's door opens. Gabriel walks out.
"Holy smokes! The aliens are hot!" Owen exclaimed once again but with less fear this time.
"Um, what?" Gabriel said confused. "I'm not an alien."
Owen still panics until Gabriel slaps his left cheek.
"You're not a hot alien?" Owen asked, sounding a bit disappointed.
"No," Gabriel simply answered with a smile. "I'm Gabriel. I need assistance. I need to win an election for student body president at my school. Can you come with me so the students can vote for the correct choice?"
"Will there be food?" Owen asked as he gets up from his seat.
"There's a cafeteria," Gabriel answered.
"Will there be hot alien chicks?" Owen inquired to know.
Gabriel blinks twice before laughing awkwardly. "No Owen. For the last time, there are no aliens."
"Oh well, as long as there is food and getting to hang out with fans its no problem for me," Owen said happily. "Let's go!"
Owen rushes into the teleporter, accidentally pushing Gabriel inside with him.
"Can't… breathe," Gabriel said, both guys inside the teleporter. Owen closes the machine's door.
The teleporter flashes blue and disappears.
A mall is shown. Inside one of the bathrooms, a young woman is washing her hands with soap and water.
She has black hair that reaches her mid-back, tie into a fishtail braid and her bangs are swept to the right. The hair tie into a fishtail braid is dyed purple. She has a heart-shaped face, almond shape brown eyes, and plump lips. She is a petite girl with lean muscles and slight curves to define her shape. She is wearing a white tank top, a fake black leather jacket, dark blue ripped skinny jeans, and beat-up black converse.
As the lady continues to wash her hands, the teleporter appears in the bathroom. Seeing the flashing blue light, the woman turns around to see the machine.
"What the…"
The teleporter's door opens. Owen gets out of the machine.
"Woohoo! That was awesome," Owen exclaimed happily. He sees the lady looking at him strangely and chuckles. "Hey there Sara. Didn't expect to meet you today."
"Owen, what are you doing in the girl's bathroom?" Sara (Saraphina) asked. She is not angry at the loveable oaf being in the place at all. In fact, she is more annoyed than angry. She is not even questioning the machine Owen got out of. After all, she's faced pirate skeleton robots before. Plus, Total Drama did have mutants and an artificial island. Nothing is too weird for her now.
"The girl's bathroom?" Owen wondered.
Sara nods her head for confirmation, still annoyed.
Owen looks around the place and chuckles. "Nice. You know, I always wondered why the girl's bathrooms look better than the guys. Shouldn't the guys have equal rights to good bathrooms as well?"
Sara snickers. "Shut up Owen," She joked.
Gabriel, finally able to catch his breath exits out of the teleporter. An old lady comes into the girl's bathroom. She screams when she witnesses Owen and Gabriel in the place. She exits out of the bathroom.
"Oh boy, better make this quick before she gets the cops," Gabriel said out loud.
"And who are you?" Saraphina eyed the high schooler.
While Gabriel answers, Owen is looking at the toilet seats. The big oaf notices how sparkly each one looks.
"I'm Gabriel. I am currently running for student body president at my high school and need you and Owen's help to get me votes today to win," Gabriel explained to Sara short and precise.
"And I'm guessing what you used to get here is a teleporter?" Sara wondered.
Gabriel is surprised by the correct hypothesis. "How did…"
"I'm seeing a machine inside a girl's bathroom. I have seen enough sci-fi movies at the orphanage I used to live at to know when this stuff happens," Sara explained.
"Oh, well then will you help me please?" Gabriel asked kindly.
"What's in it for me?" Sara wondered.
Of course she would say that Gabriel thought.
"Well, many students at my school are Total Drama fans. So, they might give you free stuff for appearing?" Gabriel replied to her a bit unsure.
"Hmm, free stuff. Not easy to find that nowadays," Sara admitted then smiled. "Sure, I'll help you out." She then narrows her eyes at the student. "But you better bring me back to this mall. Or my boyfriend will find you. Trust me, you don't want to tick off my boyfriend."
"Considering your boyfriend is a martial artist and took down a mutant shark yeah I'll make sure not to cross him," Gabriel understood the warning. "Owen, get in the teleporter first."
Gabriel and Saraphina look around and notice the blond is not there. Until he opens a woman's stall door and walks out. He fixes his belt.
"I will not go in there," Owen advised.
Sara and Gabriel's eyes widen in horror. Both quickly enter the teleporter. Owen gets in, making sure not to squeeze the other two in the process. The large man closes the machine's door. Blue light flashes as the trio teleport out of the bathroom.
The old lady and a cop enter the bathroom. They pass out after smelling Owen's stench.
The teleporter then brings the trio back inside the science classroom.
"Yeah, my teleport-inator is a success," Erin declared happily.
The machine's door opens. Owen, Saraphina, and Gabriel get out of the teleporter.
"Awesome," Owen said excitedly as he looks around.
Saraphina also observes. "So this is what a classroom looks like. Pretty lame to be honest." She looks at Gabriel. "The students are outside?"
"The majority of them are outside since its lunch hour," Gabriel answered. "Which means it will be best going there."
"I cannot wait to meet so many fans," Owen said happily.
"Remember to tell them to vote for me," Gabriel told the two Total Drama competitors.
"You're not coming with us?" Saraphina wondered.
"I'll be there in a bit. Just need to talk with Erin," Gabriel told the guest as he points at Erin with his left thumb.
Owen opens the door and tries to get into the hallway. He gets stuck in the process.
"Don't worry I got you big guy," Saraphina told Owen. She uses her strength and pushes Owen out of the door. She then proceeds to follow the dude.
Gabriel and Erin already can hear screaming coming from a bunch of students. They are screams of excitement and joy.
"I'm guessing you put the coordinates to Sara's place?" Gabriel asked.
"Yep," Erin confirmed. "My experiment was a success. Plus, no fires this time."
"That's shocking," Gabriel admitted then chuckled. "Thanks again for the help Erin. I owe you one."
Gabriel leaves the classroom to find Sara and Owen.
"Ah, another win for this scientist," Erin bragged as she leans on her teleporter. She forgot that the device's door is open and trips inside. This causes her to accidentally press the self-destruct button. "Well, that's not good."
The teleporter explodes. Erin is covered in ashes. "Oooooo, spicy."
Outside the high school building, the students want Sara and Owen to sign autographs. Whether it be their notebooks, clothing, or bookbags. Some students offer free school materials to Saraphina. Which the sweet bad girl obviously takes with appreciation. One of the cafeteria ladies comes by and gives Owen a plate with ribs. Owen drools out of happiness.
"Make sure to vote for Gabriel today," Saraphina told the students.
"Oh yeah, vote for that guy. He's awesome!" Owen added, almost forgetting to do his part.
Yasmín and Aisling watch the event unfold. The female candidate notices the slightly smug smile of Gabriel as he reunites with Sara and Owen. He has practically won the election.
"Ugh, why didn't you warn me about this?" Yasmín whined to Aisling.
"I read one's future. I don't predict when the event actually happens," Aisling simply answered with a smile. "Plus, no way I'll know this unless I read Owen or Sara's palm."
"Whatever," Yasmín mumbled in defeat and crosses her arms.
