Prologue
It was a sad day, however it didn't look like it. The sun was shining and the birds were singing. In one particular hospital there was a woman. She was dying. Her son was sitting next to her. She had a black hair and dark eyes. She looked up to her son who was tall and had black hair and brown eyes. "Ajay my son, I have so much left to say to you. But I'm out of time. So please, take me back to Lakshmana. The journey will tell you more than I ever could. I love you and I will always be with you." She finished and smiled at her son who was trying to hold his tiers back. Few days later Ishwari Ghale died from breast cancer. The funeral was small, but lovely, as much as a funeral can be. Ajay knew his mother comes from Kyrat and she wanted to be returned there after her death. But he wasn't sure if he could do it on his own. So he asked his best friend for a favor.
Jessica Brown was a redheaded female, who was quite tall and had green eyes. Few days back she was on Ishwari Ghale's funeral. She knew her son Ajay from school and they have been best friends since forever. Jessica hoped that Ajay was alright. But how can he be alright when he just lost his mother. Jessica thought about this and decided to call him and ask him, if she could come to his place. But before she could do that her door rang. "I'm coming!" She yelled and went to the door. When she opened the door, she saw it was Ajay. "Hello Ajay, I was just about to call you." He smiled at his friend's concern and said. "Hey Jess, thanks. Can I come in?" Jessica nodded and he entered the house. Ajay looked around the familiar house and asked. "Your parents aren't home?" Jessica shook her head. "No they are in my brother's flat. He needed some help moving some things from here. Do you want a coffee or tea?" She asked politely. "Tea would be nice." Said Ajay and went after her to the kitchen. He sat in a chair and started thinking how to ask for this favor. Jessica made two cups of tea for each one and sat next to her friend. They both started drinking and Ajay took a deep breath. "Jess I need to ask for a favor." Jessica raised eyebrow at him and simply said. "Alright then shoot." Ajay was very uncertain, but he knew he can't do this on his own. "I promised my mother that I will take her ashes back to place where she lived for most of her live and that is Kyrat." Jessica was surprised but nodded and urged him to say more. "And I realized that I can't do it on my own. So what I'm asking is that, would you come with me to Kyrat?" Jessica thought about it for a while and smiled. "Ajay you are my best friend. Of course I will go with you! You didn't need to be nervous about it." Ajay released a breath he didn't realize he was holding and added. "Thank you so much Jessica! You are the best." She smiled as he hugged her.
In next few weeks both of them were getting ready for the trip. Jessica's parents, David and Jocelyn, were against the idea at first, but eventually their hearts softened at mention of Ishwari, since they were her greatest friends here in America. Jessica's brother, Ewan, was afraid for his little sister, so Jessica had to go through a long lecture about shooting a gun and self-defense, which he was trained at, being in army and all. When the time came, Jessica's parents took both Ajay and Jessica to airport so the two friends can take a plane to Patna, which is in India and later continueing by bus to Kyrat. Before they went to check in Jessica said that she needs to go on toilet. When she was away, David looked to Ajay and started speaking. "Can I count on you, that nothing happens to my daughter, while you are in that dangerous country?" Ajay nodded and added. "I will Mr. Brown. Jessica will come to no harm." David nodded in relieve and Jocelyn smiled kindly at Ajay. After a short while Jessica returned and both she and Ajay went to check in. Before that she had said her goodbyes to her parents. When she and Ajay were sitting in a plane next to each other, Ajay look at her and asked. "Are you ready?" Jessica smiled and nodded. "I am."
In the next hours they talked together and laughed at the old times, Jessica was careful not to mention the robbery Ajay was caught in with his now past friends. Eventually they got to India without any trouble. Ajay knew that had to take bus to Kyrat, so after they took their luggage, which wasn't that big since they took their backpacks only, they looked for a bus to Kyrat. After few misses they made it to the bus station and in a while bus arrived. They got in it and soon they are on their way to Kyrat. On the way there, they meet a man called Darpan. However he doesn't talk too much, but is very curious about Ajay. Little did Jessica and Ajay know, that this journey will turn into one hell of an adventure.
