So this is chapter 2. I hope you like it. Hoomanbean12 writes the next one. Also, I don't know anything about this on Wattpad because I do not upload that.

Chapter 1

Written by Moonpetal1

Peggy's POV

Peggy couldn't believe what had just happened. Bec was staring at her with shock and both of them were just staring at each other.

"I touched you and felt..." Bec's voice drifted off.

"You touched me and I heard..few seconds after..." Peggy's voice drifted off as well. "What happened?"

Bec shrugged. "I don't know. When I touched you, it was like I could feel your emotions. Why were you feeling dread?"

Peggy tilted her head in confusion. "I wasn't feeling dread. I was surprised, I think. Then scared when I heard your voice in my head. Or—I was in your head. I guess that could be mistaken for dread."

Then, Bec's eyes widened in realization. "We both manifested! I am an empath and you're a telepath!"

"I'm not a telepath." Peggy insisted. "It should be next to impossible."

Bec looked at her with her eyes that said, "Seriously", but then she actually began talking. "And why is that?"

Peggy wished that she was anywhere but here. She didn't want anyone to know about...that. "A month ago, I may or may not have manifested as a polyglot. And no one in my family that I know of is a telepath, so being a telepath is kinda suspicious and weird."

Bec just stared at her blankly at her for a few seconds. "Why didn't you tell us?"

"Because I didn't know how." Peggy shrugged. "When the bodyguard goblins started talking in their goblin language, I kind of understood it and then when Yuune pointed out that they were talking in a different language, I realized that I was a polyglot." Peggy really wanted to escape this conversation, and then a way to do that appeared.

"Why does Peggy look like she wants to disappear and Bec look like she is mad, yet also happy?" Yuune asked, coming up the stairs to the third floor bedroom where they all slept, except for Audrey who slept in Jolie's old room.

Before Peggy could lie, Bec stepped in. "Peggy manifested as a telepath and a polyglot and I manifested as an empath probably."

Yuune was now staring at them both, and then she just smiled. "Good job on getting good abilities?"

"Is that a question?" Bec asked.

Yuune just looked at the ground, and you could easily tell that she was disappointed. She still hadn't manifested an ability, but neither had Audrey.

"Come on, Yuune and Peggy. Let's go tell Mom and Dad about manifesting an ability!" Bec beckoned for them to follow her, but Peggy couldn't come. It should be next to impossible for her to manifest as a telepath. Her mom was a polyglot, but her dad was a vanisher. And being a telepath in her family was kinda rare.

"I can't come. I need to do some research." Peggy heard herself say.

"Why?" Yuune asked.

"Telepathy isn't an ability that anyone in my biological family has had that I know of." The redhead grabbed her grey cape from her closet and started to put it on, but Bec stopped her.

"We'll do research together. I'll get Audrey." Bec told her.

Peggy smiled at her sisters. "Thanks, but this is my problem, or something, not yours. Go tell Grady and Edaline so they can tell Foxfire to change your schedule. I'm pretty sure that Foxfire just hired a new empath mentor named Sir Lux because Lady Marissa got super sick and had to retire early."

Bec sighed. "We can tell them together. We manifested an ability together after all. And we've been friends and sisters for three years."

Yuune let out a long sigh that meant, 'I'll go get Audrey and so you both keep your abilities a secret for now.'

Or maybe Peggy had accidentally read her mind.

"You can meet us at the library." Peggy suggested. "Maybe we can learn more about your ability, Bec."

Bec and Yuune both nodded, and Peggy and Bec both grabbed and put on their capes. The Ruewen kids didn't like to wear capes.

Both of them snuck out using the window. They didn't really need to do that, but Grady and Edaline might ask where they were going, and yes, Peggy did go to the library a lot, but they had gone there a day ago and neither Bec or Peggy wanted to explain everything again.

...

One lightleap later, Peggy and Bec arrived at the library.

The librarian looked at them when they came in; the library was hidden somewhere in a place humans called Paris.

Every elf had a lightleaping crystal to the library, but not many elves came there. The elf world was a very busy place.

Peggy walked up to the librarian. "Where can I find information about families? Like, family trees and history."

The librarian looked t her with a confused look, then pointed towards the left side of the library. "The left side, by the bathrooms. There is a boy there already looking at ability history, which is on the other side of the shelf as family history." Her voice was soft and comforting, but also high pitched, almost squeaky.

Peggy nodded, and headed to where the librarian told her to go. Sure enough, there was a boy there. He had black hair and dark blue eyes. He was also tall, but not as tall as the tallest one of the Ruewen kids, Audrey.

"Hey." He said through the bookshelf.

"Hey." Peggy said back, then went back to searching.

There were many book here. One for each letter of the alphabet, and each book contained the last name of someone whose last name started with the letter of the book.

Like Vacker would be in Book V. The only problem with the books was that it was hard to update them so only the older elves and families were in them.

Peggy opened Book S and started looking for Smith. It had been her birth last name, but she had decided to change it once she was adopted by Grady and Edaline, as had Yuune and Bec.

After a few minutes of relentless searching, Peggy found what she was looking for and immediately started reading.

She found that most people on her dad's side had been vanishers, a few frosters and empaths here and there.

Then, she found something.

Her great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandpa was a telepath. So there was a telepath in her family. He was just really really really really really really really really really really really old.

Peggy guessed that it was possible that she was a telepath, but it was just really rare.

Usually elves got abilities that their parents had.

Still, a little more research couldn't hurt. Maybe learning more about abilities would help.

Which would mean going to the other side of the bookshelf next to that boy. This was unintentional I promise but Peggy is a bit like Grady so maybe he's been like, teaching her stuff?

Peggy wasn't scared of him or had a silly crush on him. It was that she felt nothing towards him except for a bit of suspicion and she should feel something. Girls her age would probably always be stalking him and huddled around him like they did with Fitz Vacker.

She got off the ground and walked to the other side of the bookshelf. The boy looked at her, but other than that he ignored her.

Suddenly, Peggy heard the library doors fly open and two sets of footsteps walk in.

"I have arrived to bring you happiness!" Yuune yelled, much to the dismay of the librarian, who, when Peggy walked out of the small aisle and into the larger area, looked very mad.

"Yuune!" Audrey scolded. "Keep your voice down!" She walked over to the librarian and apologized, then walked next to the rest of the group.

"Before you say anything, I told Audrey everything." Yuune crossed her arms.

Peggy heard Bec sigh in relief, and then she closed her eyes trying to concentrate on not reading minds.

It wasn't allowed allowed and anyone who did abuse others using their ability, even if they didn't know how to use it.

A few years ago a hydrokinetic with no training in her ability flooded half of Atlantis and was sent to Exillium. In Peggy's opinion, she should've gotten help with her hydrokinesis.

"Did you find anything about the telepathy in your family?" Audrey's question pulled Peggy out of her thoights.

"Oh! Yes, my great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandpa was a telepath." She replied, proud of the information she found.

Then, Bec was looking at someone behind her. "Who's that? He keeps on staring at us."

Peggy looked behind her to see the boy from earlier. "I don't know. He was looking at ability history when I was looking at my family history."

Bec nodded, but Peggy couldn't shake the feeling that the boy was up to something, or at least wanted something from them.

That was chapter 1. How was it? If you review then I'll tell you how we came up with the abilities, except if you're a guest sadly. I think Hoomanbean12 writes the next chapter.

We are about a week away from Book 1. So review. They make us happy and motivated to write.
