For the next 2 hours, the contractions stayed very mild. Mirabel was able to continue her normal activities. They were very consistent, though. They were coming every 15-20 minutes and only lasting 30-45 seconds. Everyone kept asking her if she needed anything, but she kept telling them she was fine. She was just happy they weren't hurting too bad. Max went over to his grandparents' house to let them and Diego know that the babies were on their way. They were so excited! He told them he would have someone come get them the next day once the babies arrived.

Mirabel put Rosa to bed at 9. As she tucked her in, she said, "Guess what, baby?"

"What?"

"The babies will be here soon. I would like for them to be here by the time you get up in the morning, but I doubt it'll happen that fast. Having a baby can take a long time and especially if you have two." She rubbed her hand over her cheek and hair. "I love you so much. You'll always be my baby girl. You know that, right?"

Rosa just giggled. "Yeah, Mommy. I love you, too." She got out of bed to give her mom a big hug. Mirabel wrapped her arms tightly around her little girl, soaking in the moment. She knew she wouldn't get the random hugs forever, so she was enjoying them while she could. She could not believe that Rosa was actually going to be a big sister. It just didn't seem real.

As Mirabel was closing the door to Rosa's room, she immediately felt like she peed herself. But just like last time, she knew she didn't and she knew what did happen. She walked to the bed and yelled for Max to come. He was running in the room less than a minute later. He said, in a panic, "What? What happened? Are you okay?"

She motioned towards Rosa's door and he saw the puddle on the floor. His eyes widened and he looked back at her. "Oh, wow. Well, how do you feel? Are you in pain yet?"

"Not really, but I-" She was instantly cut off by a contraction. This time, it wasn't as mild. She groaned and leaned over. "Never mind. This hurts." She started taking deep breathes and grabbed Max's hand.

Just then, Julieta walked in. "Hey. Just coming to check on things." She walked up to Mirabel and could immediately tell she was having a contraction. She rubbed her back.

When it passed, she let out a sigh and looked up. "We're okay. My water just broke and my contractions are already getting stronger."

"Hopefully we have some babies soon. Do you want me to stay in here with you now or do you want me to come later? We'll also need to get Ana here at some point." Ana was the midwife. With it being twins, they didn't feel as comfortable about doing it alone, so it was already decided that she would need to be there for the births.

"We got it for now. I want you in the room as well as Tia Pepa. We can get Ana when it gets closer to having the babies. I'll have Max come get you in a bit. I want you both to get some sleep. But could you do me a favor and clean up the mess I made over there?" She said that last part with a giggle.

"Absolutely," said Julieta and gave Mirabel a kiss on the head. She quickly cleaned everything up and left the room.

Over the next several hours, the contractions got stronger and more intense, lasting longer, and less time between them. Max was amazing at supporting Mirabel. She was shocked that it was going faster than it did with Rosa. She assumed they would be milder for at least half the night. She hoped it meant the babies were coming sooner rather than later and she was ecstatic.

Just like with Rosa, Mirabel switched from the bed to walking around and she would sit on the floor and lean over onto the bed a lot. She also would lean on Max for support, too. He was talking to her in the most soothing voice and just telling her how well she was doing. He would rub her back, gently run his hands on her arms, and wipe her forehead and neck with a wet wash cloth. She was clearly in so much pain, but he thought she was doing amazing. She would groan and breathe deeply through all of the contractions.

At midnight, Mirabel asked Max to go get her mom and Pepa. He waited until a contraction ended and left to get both of them. Even though Mirabel told her mom to get some sleep, Julieta had still not fallen asleep. She knew Max was doing a great job, but she couldn't sleep knowing her daughter was in pain.

Julieta and Pepa walked in and Mirabel immediately started to cry. "Mama, this hurts so much." she said between sobs. Julieta grabbed her hand. "I thought it wouldn't hurt as much since it's my second. And third." She was about to have 3 kids. Unreal.

"Oh, mi amor." said Julieta as she rubbed her hand over her head. "The labor may not last as long, but the pain is still the same. It hurt as much with you as it did with Isa. I'm so sorry. You are definitely progressing faster, so I bet it's soon."

Pepa got on the bed with Mirabel and proceeded to run her fingers through Mirabel's hair. She knew how much she still loved that. She leaned into the touch and put her head on Pepa's lap. "Thank you for being here, Tia." she said breathlessly.

"Thank you for allowing me to be here." she whispered.

Another contraction came soon and it seemed to be stronger than the last one. Everyone helped her through it. She held her mom's and Max's hands while Pepa ran her fingers in her hair and wiped her face and neck with the wash cloth. When it ended, she said, "I'm scared I'm going to wake up Rosa or she'll walk in to see me like this. I wonder if she could go sleep in another room." Mirabel wasn't screaming, but she was being loud and crying a lot.

"We can do that." Pepa called out to Dolores and within a few minutes, Dolores was walking in the room. "Hi, mija. Do you mind taking Rosa to sleep with Maria or Gabi?"

"Of course," She looked at Mirabel and smiled. "Both of those heartbeats are still nice and strong."

"Wonderful," she said with a smile.

Dolores found Rosa sleeping peacefully in bed. Dolores put her hand on her shoulder and gently shook her. Rosa turned over and rubbed her eyes. She whispered, "Let's get up, sweet girl. Do you want to sleep with Maria?" Maria was the one was most likely to not care about being woken up in the night.

Rosa nodded, stood up, and immediately got in Dolores' arms. She laid her head on Dolores' shoulder. When Dolores came walking out with Rosa, she raised her head up and rubbed her eyes. "Mama? Papa?" She yawned.

"Hi, baby girl." said Max. "Bring her over." Mirabel wasn't due for another contraction for a few minutes, so he thought it was okay to talk to her for just a minute.

Dolores brought her over and she immediately climbed in Max's lap. "Are you ready to meet your baby brothers or sisters?" he asked.

"Yeah. I go sleep with Maria now?"

Mirabel ran her hand through her daughter's crazy bedhead curls. "Yes. Just until the babies come. Are you okay with that?"

"Yeah,"

"Okay, good." Max leaned her down a bit, so Mirabel could kiss her on the forehead. "I love you so much, mi vida. We'll see you in the morning."

She nodded and then Max handed her off to Dolores, who immediately left with her.

The contractions continued to pick up in intensity and pain the next few hours. She mostly stayed in bed, but walked around some. If a contraction came while walking, she'd have to lean on Max. She was so glad that Rosa wasn't in the room right next to her, because she was starting to get louder and louder. She didn't remember being in this much pain with Rosa. She voiced this to her mom and Julieta said, "Mi amor, it did hurt this much. You just forgot. I forgot each time how much it hurt." She smiled. "That's why I kept having kids. You forget the pain. But the love you feel for each baby is what makes it all so worth it."

Mirabel smiled at her mom as tears filled her eyes. She was still worried about loving these babies as much as she loved Rosa. She didn't feel quite as worried anymore.

Over the course of those few hours, she had several visitors. Isabela came to check on her first and was shocked at how quickly things had progressed since the night before. It melted her heart to see how amazing Max was being with Mirabel. Luisa and Abuela also came to check on her. Just like Isabela, they loved to see how well Max was supporting Mirabel. Most of the family knew Mirabel was close to having the babies.

At 4, the contractions became even more intense and painful. They were coming in every 1-2 minutes and lasting up to a minute and a half. She was starting to really scream through those. They were horrible and she wanted to give up. She was starting to feel a lot of pressure in her back and the only thing that gave her somewhat relief was if someone massaged her lower back. Max had never seen someone in so much pain. It was hard for him to see her like that. He said, "Mira, you are doing so good. Keep breathing through the contractions."

"Stop saying that! This is not helping!" she screamed. "Make it stop! Please make it stop!"

Max was at a loss. He looked to Julieta, clearly feeling overwhelmed. He didn't know what to do. She nodded and knelt down in front of Mirabel. "Mirabel." she said sternly, but gently. "Mirabel. Look in my eyes."

Mirabel let out a scream, but then managed to look her mom in the eyes despite the unbearable pain. "We talked about this last time. Screaming will take energy away from you that you need. I know it hurts. I know it does. It hurts this much, because your babies are almost here. Breathe with me. You can do this."

Mirabel just breathed with her mom and held onto her hands as tight as she could, silently crying through them. She was so ready for it to be over.

When the contraction ended, she closed her eyes. Her head was in Pepa's lap and so Pepa continued to run her fingers through her hair. Julieta pulled Max to the other side of the room. He was almost in tears. "I'm not helping her. I should just stand off to the side and let you and Pepa handle it."

"Max," started off Julieta. "That's not true at all. I have been watching you for the past 4 hours. You are doing amazing. You have helped her tremendously. You are talking to her in the most gentle voice, giving her words of encouragement, and supporting her so well. This part of labor is the most difficult. The contractions are so close together, they last longer, and they're very intense and strong. She yelled at me like that last time and I had to do the same thing to get her to calm down and focus. Fortunately, this is the shortest part of labor and it means the babies will be here soon. Last time, she only had contractions like these for about an hour and then the baby was born after 30 minutes of pushing." She squeezed his shoulder. "When she starts screaming like that, you have to make her look in your eyes and remind her to breathe. Tell her the babies are almost here and it will be over soon. She needs our support now more than ever."

He nodded and looked at Mirabel. She was resting her eyes with Pepa still running her fingers through her hair. He looked back at Julieta. "It's just so hard to see her in so much pain."

Julieta smiled sympathetically. "I know. Me too."

Max went over to sit in front of Mirabel. He grabbed the wash cloth and wiped her forehead. She opened her eyes and tears filled them. "Max. It hurts so much."

"I know, darling, I know." he said softly. "But you know what this means? Our babies are almost here. We'll be meeting them so soon."

She just kept staring at him with tears running down her cheeks until a contraction came. She closed her eyes tight and grabbed both of his hands. She breathed as deeply as she could and continued to cry and groan through them, but she was focused on her breathing and didn't scream.

It was at this time that Julieta knew she needed to get Ana there. Mirabel was progressing quickly and it wouldn't be much longer. She sent Agustin to go get her and they came back pretty quickly. Ana walked in and Mirabel was so focused on getting through the contraction. She had her eyes locked on Max's and he was breathing deeply with her while holding her hands.

When the contraction ended, Ana checked to see how far dilated she was. Her eyes widened and she said, "Agustin said her contractions first started at 7, is that right?" Julieta nodded. It was 4:30 in the morning. "Well, she is just about ready to have these babies. She is at 9 centimeters, so she'll be having these babies very soon."

This continued until 5. Max knew what to do now, so he kept Mirabel focused on her breathing and continued to speak to her so sweetly. Pepa, Julieta, and Ana watched in awe at how amazing he was. Pepa and Julieta took turns massaging her lower back. She was still in a lot of pain, but that helped the back pain a little bit.

At 5, she had so much pressure and felt the need to push. She groaned and said, "I feel a head."

"Okay, let me check." said Ana and she sat down to check Mirabel. She nodded at her and said, "You are ready. Let's get into position." They all helped her get into position and she started to push. It was wild to her that she was about to go from a mom of one to a mom of three.

After only 3 contractions, Ana got a big smile on her face and she said, "Oh, Mirabel, you're doing wonderful. I can see the head."

Mirabel leaned her head back and then turned her face into Max's shirt. She groaned loudly through the pain. This was a pain she had also forgotten. She grabbed Max's clothes and said, "I can't do this, Max, please, don't make me do this." She felt like she had cried so much already through labor and yet, she was crying again.

"Mirabel, you've made it this far." He ran his hands through her hair. "Our first baby is literally right there. Come on, one last push. You got this." He put his hand on the back of her neck and helped her set up.

Mirabel took in a big breath and pushed as hard as she could, holding onto his hand tightly.

Just like Max said, one last push and the baby was born. "Oh, Mirabel, you did it." said Ana as she placed the baby on her chest. "That was incredible."

Mirabel had her head leaned back and she was trying to catch her breath. After a moment, she looked down and her breathe caught in her throat. The tears were suddenly flowing once again. She felt silly for ever thinking she wouldn't love another baby as much as she loved Rosa. "Oh, hello, sweet baby." Julieta placed a towel over the baby to wipe them clean. A couple pats on the back and the baby was crying. It was the greatest sound in the world. Max was in tears, too. He was in awe of his wife and in awe of this beautiful baby on Mirabel's chest.

Mirabel pulled the baby away slightly and looked down. She smiled and looked up at Max. "We have a boy."

Max ran his hand over the baby's head and kissed it. He had blond, curly hair. "Well…are we going to have a nameless son until we can decide on a name?"

"No." Mirabel said with a smile. "I know exactly what his name is."

"Really? What is it?"

She looked up at him. "His name is Isaiah."

Max was in shock. He didn't know what she was going to say, but it definitely wasn't that. He didn't think he could love Mirabel more, but she continued to amaze him. "Mirabel. Are you for real?" His voice was shaking.

"Yeah. I mean…only if it's okay with you?"

"It's more than okay. I love you so much." He gave her a kiss. When they pulled apart, they looked down at their baby boy. Mirabel kissed his head. He was looking up at them with the biggest little eyes. They could feel the love in their heart growing more by the second.

Just seconds after they cut the cord and the placenta was out, another contraction came in. She gasped and leaned her head back, groaning through it. "Oh, here comes the next baby." Mirabel immediately handed the baby to Max, who gave him a quick kiss on the forehead, and he handed the baby to Julieta. He wanted to keep holding his son, but he had to get back to Mirabel.

Ana said, "Okay, Mirabel, you did this perfect the first time. Let's do it again."

Mirabel grabbed Max's hand and pushed again.

Four contractions later and the baby still wasn't here. Mirabel was exhausted. She was so beyond ready for it to be over. On the fifth contraction, she could finally feel the head. She groaned and leaned her head against Max's chest, who was sitting right next to her. Pepa was on her other side. She didn't have to say anything. Max knew she was ready to be done. He ran his hand over her cheek and whispered, "I know you're so tired, babe, but you're almost done. Don't give up now. You got this."

She took in a deep breath, holding onto his hand, grabbed Pepa's hand, and pushed one last time.

Ana smiled widely as she placed the baby on Mirabel's chest. She looked down at her baby.

Ana placed a towel over the baby and was wiping them clean. Mirabel was in absolute awe, once again. She had no idea how her heart could hold this much love. She thought her love would be divided. Instead, it was multiplied. "Oh, hi sweet baby." The cries started and it was the sweetest sound they had ever heard. She pulled him back and gasped. She looked up at Max. "It's another boy." The tears were flowing for both of them, especially since they got the son that the dream predicted. Mirabel kissed his head.

"I can't believe it." said Max shakily as he ran his hand over the baby's head. He had brown, curly hair. "She was right."

"I know." She took a deep breath. "Since I picked Isaiah's name, how about you pick this one?"

Max looked at her shocked for a moment. "Are you sure? I didn't think you liked any of the names I picked."

"I'll love whatever name you pick."

"Okay." He looked down at his second son and thought for a moment. It hit him and he smiled. "How about Ivan?"

"Perfect." That was a name that Max mentioned very early on and at the time, Mirabel didn't really care for it. But she loved it now.

Max turned around and motioned for Isaiah from Julieta. She handed him to Max. Max and Mirabel just set there, in awe, staring at their two beautiful baby boys. Isaiah had his daddy's green eyes and Ivan had hazel eyes, a mix between his parents' eyes.

"Isaiah and Ivan," started off Mirabel. "Welcome to our big, wild, crazy family. You are both going to love it here."
