She knew that getting hit in the head with a paint can cannot be good for the brain. She probably had a concussion from it, but she couldn't focus on the pounding in her skull as she fought and killed a lmd version of her boyfriend. She had to get out of here alive she had to save him like the countless number of times that he had saved her. It was her turn to find him.
She backed herself in a corner her leg throbbing and bleeding on the floor, her head aching so much she couldn't think straight she knew that there was blood on her head though. Daisy came along and reassured her that she wasn't an LMD. The five of them got on the zephyr and flew away to find their friends her head still aching. She knew that entering the framework was going to make her head trauma worse, but she did it regardless, of the pounding in her skull.
She knew that coming out of the framework was going to be rough depending on how long they were in there. Head pounding she strapped herself in.
She shot up with a start, eyes burning from the light head still pounding. She looked over at Daisy, who was looking at her concerned.
"We did it." Daisy breaths, not meeting Elana's eyes.
"Yeah, we did," Jemma breathed out, wincing as her head throbbed.
"Simmons are you okay," Daisy asked looking at her concerned.
"Yeah, yeah, I am fine, just a concussion," Jemma said truthfully, knowing that there was nothing that Daisy could do now, even though.
"Simmons-" Daisy started.
"I am fine Daisy, or at least I will be once we find everyone," Jemma said truthfully getting up off of the bed she had been laying on.
She still had a headache as she watched Fitz say that he had killed their relationship, that couldn't be further from the truth. She walked in and didn't say anything just sat there, leaning on him crying on him their hands linked together. She closed her eyes, the light straining them, as she leaned against him. She was so tired, she was afraid that if she shut her eyes though, she would end up having a nightmare of killing Fitz but instead of it being the LMD, it would be the real Fitz. She didn't want to have those nightmares in the real world also.
"Jemma are you okay?" Fitz asked as she slumped further into him.
"Yeah, I am fine," Jemma lied, he felt so bad about the framework already he didn't need to know what had happened with his LMD, and she couldn't tell him about her injuries without the rest of the story coming out along with it.
"Jemma," Fitz sighed probably knowing that she was lying, he started brushing his fingers through her hair gently.
"You know our futures are not dead," She blurted out, trying to change the topic, he remained silent, she was just happy that he didn't straight up reject her statement. He just hummed, in response.
"Jemma, what is this from," He asked as his hand went over the area that had been hit by the paint can, the fading bruise and healing cut that was hidden in her hairline. She winced as his hand put slight pressure on it.
"From, the fight with the LMDs," Jemma said quietly.
"Jemma, you went into the framework with a head wound, that isn't a good idea, I am sorry," Fitz said sadly clearly feeling guilty.
"It is not your fault," Jemma said truthfully, glad he hadn't noticed the slight limp she had from the stab wound in her thigh.
"I created this, I created the LMDs the Framework," Fitz said looking down at his hands anxiously.
"You created something that you thought would protect people, it was corrupted by a book, that shouldn't corrupt AI, it is not your fault," Jemma said tears coming to her eyes. He nodded, she leaned into him once more and struggled to keep her eyes open.
It was overdone with, the DarkHold was gone, taken to another dimension by Robbie, she and Fitz were in a hotel room, Coulson having actually spent some money and gotten them rooms. No one really wanted to spend the night at the wrecked rooms of the Playground, with its nightmares lurking around every corner.
Her head throbbed she had taken some pain medication not that long ago but I seemed to have done little to get rid of the ache that was enveloping her. She wanted to just curl up into a ball and disappear, but she was afraid that if she went to sleep she would have a nightmare. She had been having them when they were in the framework, and she didn't want to do that to Fitz.
She sat on the bed and kicked off her shoes, closing her eyes, trying to ward away the pain and nausea that was plaguing her. She laid down on the bed above the covers, waiting for Fitz to come over. She felt the bed sink underneath his added weight, she lay still.
"Jemma, you have a concussion don't you," Fitz asked, she knew that he must have seen her take the medication earlier.
"Yeah," she murmured, leaning into him, her whole body aching slightly, exhaustion deep in her bones, her head feeling lightheaded.
"Jemma," He sighed, she knew that he was frustrated with her, for going into the framework with a head injury.
"I am fine Fitz," Jemma said fiercely, maybe if she said it enough then she could believe it too.
"Jemma, you look terrible, you need sleep, okay," Fitz said carefully, brushing a finger over her bruise, gingerly.
"Ok, Fitz," She sighed leaning back into him, savoring the feeling of being close to him, she heard a faint click like the sound of lights turning off. She focused on the feeling of Fitz's pulse beneath her fingers as she wrapped her hand around his wrist happy that he didn't protest. She let herself drift off to sleep knowing that they still had things they needed to talk about, but for now, they could rest before the next problem that would surely come, as soon as they managed to get everything back together.
