Worth It

Olberic had far more important things to worry about than his appearance. He was a knight! One of the strongest in all of Hornburg! He had to train, and protect the king, and help the other soldiers with their sparring. Of course Olberic tried to keep himself presentable, but constantly fretting over his looks? He had no time for that!

Still...there was one thing...one tiny thing...

Olberic had found a few gray hairs the other day. And he was only in his late twenties! How did he have gray hair already? Some of the other knights who were older than him didn't have any yet. It was so unfair!

It was with that in mind that he found himself furtively approaching Erhardt in one of the training areas one day. Olberic was being silly. He had nothing to worry about with Erhardt. They'd known each other for years now, and they closer than brothers. Erhardt wouldn't mock him...and he had, objectively speaking, the best hair in the entire Hornburgian army. There had to be some secret behind those long, shiny, consistently-blond locks that Olberic could steal!

"Erhardt," he finally said. "May I ask you a question? How do you take care of your hair?"

"Oh?" Erhardt blinked. "Well, it's quite simple, really. I use L'Oréal...because I'm worth it."

He flipped his hair as he spoke, and it sparkled (yes, sparkled!) in the light. That wasn't fair! And yet...he'd told Olberic exactly what he needed to know.

"I see," Olberic replied, completely seriously. "Then I must start using it at once. Where may I get some?"

"I have some you can borrow, actually."

Olberic really hoped this worked as he followed Erhardt to his tent. But, looking at the results, he was sure it had to.
