AN : Hola! Cinnabunnbunn here! How'z it going! Hope ya'll are doing fantastic!
Soooo, I know update is late, like really late, but life's happening, and it's really fucking me over. I've been down with a cold and feverish for the past week or so and I also have my medical entrance exams coming up, so you must have an idea on how hectic it must be for me right now. So, updates are going to be a bit rocky from here on, but I'll still try to update weekly or every ten days or so.
Other than life in general, everything else seems to be sailing pretty smoothly.
Anyway… hope ya'll like this chap!
Enjoy!
It should be illegal to make dresses this tight that you feel like you're about to pass out from oxygen loss. What was up with wearing such tightly laced dresses anyway?
"I-I can't… breath."
Sakura grunted as she sucked in another breath as Haku continued to lace up the corset like bodice of the dress. Sakura should sue, she really should. She felt her ribs under all that pressure and was sure that they're going to be bruised later.
"Almost there Sakura-san… just a little more." Sakura heard Haku murmur as she gave a final pull on the laces running criss-cross on the small of her back. When she felt her waist sinching even more, Sakura tried to take a deep breath and hold it there to keep from fainting because she was feeling dangerously light headed.
After everything she is going through, her respect for actual models has gone through the roof. No way she can deal with all this on a regular basis, she would actually go insane.
"And… all done!" Haku exclaimed as he wiped his brow and backed up to give the breathless girl a little more space. When she felt a little less crowded, Sakura tried to suck in as much air as she can as she watched Haku circle her like a vulture, trying to make sure everything was well adjusted and in their designated place. After a moment of staring and circling around her, Haku seemed to have a light bulb go off in his head as he ran off to retrieve something.
Seeing she is alone, finally, Sakura took this moment to actually look at that piece of garment that she has practically been shoved into. A puffy chiffon skirt, wide and fluffy, deep red in colour, almost like muddy blood, and gold flowery vines running down from the waist in a beautiful mess, getting lighter in number until stopping completely halfway down. The top was pretty much the same as the skirt, but the gold vines covering the entire bodice and the red of the dress peeking out from the gaps between them.
As breathtakingly beautiful as that dress was, the sweetheart strapless neckline and the backless design was making Sakura feel like she was going to slip up and flash everyone. This was the exact reason was she tries to avoid strapless garments as much as she could.
Sakura heard a rustle behind her as she turned to look to find the curtain being parted by Haku, his hands filled with an assortment of accessories. He hurried to spread them out on the table beside her and dug through them to fish out two pairs of gloves, one of lace and the other one in a solid satin, both long and both in the colour same as the dress. He held them up to her dress and after a moment of consideration, decided to go with the solid satin one.
"Here, put these on." Haku commanded as he rolled them up her forearms and past her elbows. The satin felt silky and smooth against her skin, the gloves ending a couple inches above her elbows.
With the arrangement of the dress complete, Haku started with the jewellery and other accessories. After some thinking and hard decisions, Sakura felt the weight of a pair of ruby earrings against her ears and a couples of silver rings on her fingers.
"Perfect!" Haku exclaimed in happiness, pleased with the arrangement he put together. "You look like a princess!"
"Or more like a vampire queen if you ask me." The voice of Deidara commented from behind her, his form coming from behind the curtain and give her a happy grin. "A vampire with pink hair, yeah!"
"Out of all the things I could've looked like, does it really have to be a vampire?" Sakura asked with a playful of head. These two idiots had to be her favourite part of her job.
"I think the vampire aesthetic really suits you though. And it gives me just the perfect idea on your makeup." Deidara parted the curtain and motioned for her to go with him. "Come on."
Scrunching and lifting her skirt her skirt in her hands, she walked out of the changing station still in her slippers, having not yet decided on the shoes and followed Deidara towards the makeup station. The action feeling much familiar to that godforsaken photoshoot weeks ago. She didn't yet know if the magazine is public yet, but when it does, she'll dye her hair black and change her identity.
No way is she facing her whole university with her face on a magazine with that bastard Uchiha.
Seated down on the plush chair in front of the mirror, the time consuming and rigorous, in Sakura's humble opinion, process of hair and makeup started.
Her skin was smoothened out further with a light foundation and concealer. Maybe she should get a concealer, it might help with the bruises. Deidara covered her eyes in gold and smoky makeup, wings slanted and sharp, a light blush high on her cheeks and lips coloured a dark red.
After the makeup was done, Sakura just leaned back and just let Deidara do his magic.
After a good half an hour, Sakura felt Deidara apply the setting spray and back off, letting out a deep breath. "All done! Open your eyes Sakura-san!"
Sakura opened her eyes to look at the handiwork of Deidara and her eyes widened in awe. Her hair felt smooth to touch, slightly wavy and loose in volume. The simplicity and beauty of its shine only enhanced and accessorised with a glimmering clip pinned to her left side, holding some of the hair back. The shape of the pin reminded Sakura of a branch of carnations, three flowers in row of varying sizes, sone leaves poking out from between and two pearls from two chains, swinging and twinkling when she moved her head.
"You really committed to the vampire look, I must say." Sakura commented with a chuckle as she still admired the shining ornament. She really has to hand it to Deidara, she never though she could look this pretty.
"You do look like a softer vampire, with your pink hair and green eyes." Deidara replied back with a laugh while stacking up and putting away some of his supplies. "If you had black hair and red eyes, you'd be the perfect vampire."
'Black hair and red eyes, huh.' Just the combination of the features reminded her of a certain someone. Now that she thinks about it, he would be the perfect candidate for playing a sexy vampire in a movie. Long dark hair, sharp red eyes, high cheek bones and sinewy figure. Yup, he'd be perfect.
"Huh, good thing I don't then." Sakura smoothed out her skirt and stood up when she heard Haku coming up behind her with a pair of heels in his hands. Though it was not a pair she was expecting.
Even though Sakura didn't have the best fashion sense, she still has a good enough guess. And she figured maybe a pair of red stilettoes would do the job, or maybe a pair of silver sandals would be nice. However, she could not see how these could be good. The heels Haku brought weren't slippers or sandals, they were boots. Knee high, shiny, black boots. They looked better for a dominatrix look more than whatever they were going for.
But, Haku was the stylist, not her, and a damn good one at that. So se put her trust in his hands and made a move to put the boots on.
Meanwhile, when Sasuke walked in through the doors of the studio along with Naruto, it was a surprise to him too when he saw the background for the photoshoot. His mother was going to release a beach themed clothing line soon, and he was informed that they were going to do a test shoot for the said line today with a model he has worked with before. But the scene in front of him looked something straight out of a dark fairytale.
"Mom, what the hell is happening here?" Sasuke asked for his mother while still keeping his eyes trained on the scene before him. He took a brief glance to the blonde beside him only to find him gaping with his eyes wide and mouth open even wider. Huh, understandable.
Mikoto looked back at the sound of Sasuke's voice, her eyes lighting up and lips spreading in a gentle smile. "Sasu-chan! You're here! This is just the shoot for the Dewdove collection. You remember which one that is, right?"
'Dewdove, isn't that the evening dress one.' Sasuke thought to himself as he moved his hand to close the jaw of the still gaping Naruto back up. Naruto closed his mouth and glared at Sasuke which he only returned with his usual passive expression.
"So, where is my set?"
"Oh. Yours is the floor above. But sit here for a bit, let me finish with this one first then we'll move on to yours." Pausing, Mikoto eyed her son for a moment. "What are you doing here so early anyway? Your timing isn't for another hour or two, even the other model isn't here." Narrowing her eyes further, she added "And what is Naruto doing with you?"
Sasuke sweated a little at that question and looked around for Naruto only to find him looking at the different set pieces with shimmering eyes. 'This dumbass. Leaving me alone to cover up.' It was probably a good thing anyway. Naruto would mess it all up with his bumbling tendencies.
"Oh nothing, just… he just wanted to hang out in my office, play some video games, you know. So I just came here a little before time." Sasuke stabled his voice and a seemingly nonchalant shrug to try and convince his mother of his lies. Sasuke was known around the studio for many things, his looks, his charm, his lineage. But punctuality is not one of them.
But it seemed to do it for Mikoto as she quickly believed his reasoning. It was a believable reason. "Oh okay! Have fun then."
Sasuke nodded at his mother before literally dragging Naruto by his collar, backpack and all, into his office. He ignored the choking sounds Naruto was making and closed the door behind him before letting him breath.
"What the hell teme! You want me dead or something!" Naruto yelled, rubbing his hand over his throat to soothe it out.
"That won't be too bad, actually. Anyway, did you get whatever you found?"
Naruto gave Sasuke one last glare before opening up his backpack and pulling out his own laptop. He powered it on and opened some files, kept in the deepest private safe with a password strong enough to safekeep a nuclear bomb.
Releasing a breath when he found that whatever he kept there was still intact, Naruto motioned to Sasuke to come over. "Here are the files. A data record and a few… suspicious pictures."
Frowning at the wording, Sasuke sat down beside Naruto on the couch and looked at the screen of the laptop sitting on the coffee table in the front. The first file was a three pages long biodata. He figured he would read that before moving onto the later stuff.
Name : Silver Hillman
Sex : Female
Age : 17 years old
Found : Black Viper Ops, Otogakure
'Otogakure..' Sasuke tried to not think of that name again. The memories associated with it were certainly not pleasant. He read a few more points, but nothing of interest. But it was when he got to the appearance section, is when he felt his heartbeat increasing, skin feeling hot and simultaneously, his blood running cold.
Appearance : Pink hair, green eyes, pale skin tone, 5' 4" in height
'What. The. Fuck.'
Sasuke read the same line over and over again, trying the process what was written on the screen.
'This can't be real.' "Where did you get all this dobe?" Sasuke asked in incredulity to the blond sitting nervously by his side, his eyes still glued to the screen.
"Neji sent them to me. He went in the headquarters again and made some excuse on familiarizing himself with the agents." Naruto cleared his throat before speaking the rest, "He said it was hidden really deep. I mean really, really deep. There were only like ten other files in that safe. He actually had to use the whole copied signature of his uncle that I gave him."
'Copied signature?' "Wait, what copied signature? And why did you have it? And how did you get it?"
Naruto waved his hand dismissively and spoke conspiratorially, "That's a different story. What I'm saying is that he had to dig to the deepest section of their records. Do you know it took him five fucking hours to get just this file? And it has Sakura Haruno written all over it."
Sasuke stared at the screen for a few more moments, looking beyond the screen, like in a daze. He snapped out of it after a while and shook his head. "No, it must be someone else. It's Silver Hillman written here. It's not her."
Naruto let out a sigh of frustration. "Dude, you really think that these super secret agents are gonna keep up their real name." and Naruto had a weird expression on his face. A type that says that he has already won an argument before it even started.
"And if it's not convincing enough, then these pictures might." Naruto smugly stated and he pulled up a couple of pictures in the same file.
And when Sasuke looked at them, he could swear his heart actually stopped.
In the first picture was a girl, probably eighteen, with pink hair and green eyes. The shot seemed to be candid, taken overhead. She wielded a gun in one hand while she was dangling from the ledge, holding on with a thick wire that seemed to be attached to her bracelet. The scene around her was that of an actual disaster, there were building debris, fire and smoke. Lots of smoke.
And what made his head spin even more was the fact that she was garbed in the same outfit as the girl on the ship. The same black pants, same green vest and the same mask covering her face nose down.
"This-this is…" Sasuke couldn't even finish that sentence. His mind was empty, his eyes refusing to turn away from the screen and his heart was refusing to calm down. He hurriedly clicked on the next pictures and ended with similar results. One picture with her pointing her sniper at someone from the roof of a burning building, another one of her literally drop kicking a man much bigger than her and another one of her posing in a very wicked looking aircraft, headset in place and hands on the control panel, seemingly preparing to take off.
All pictures of the same girl, all in the same armour and all with pink hair.
'I think I'm overheating…' Sasuke had a thought on checking his temperature to make sure this wasn't just a fever hallucination. He was getting more and more convinced that his assistant and this mystery agent of AROWS that some kind of big connection.
"See, teme! Try and tell me now that this isn't her!"
Sasuke wouldn't even try to tell him it isn't her. But he still had some suspicions of his own. And it will take a little more for him to be convinced that she is the person they are talking about.
Because no matter the number of incriminating evidences, it does seem like quite a far stretch to relate Sakura Haruno to whoever this Silver Hillman is.
"So, what do you suggest we do next?" Sasuke asked the blonde, letting him do the planning for the current mission they were on. Naruto seemed to be better at planning the shenanigans than actual academics anyway.
And Naruto was only too happy to be acknowledged for his mastermind brain. With a wide grin and mischievous grin on his face, he proceeded to lay out their next course of action.
"So, what we'll need to do next is be absolutely sure that these two are connected. So we'll go to the headquarters and look for the picture and other photographic data attached to the biodata file. Me, you, Neji and Shikamaru will go there together, tomorrow." When he finished laying it all down, Naruto gave a proud nod to Sasuke, who was looking at him in astonishment.
Well, as much admiration as an Uchiha can project on his face.
Then Sasuke remembered that he still hasn't finished reading the whole file, because he was too busy having the shock of his life. And just as he was getting back to the file, he heard a loud cheer from outside.
"What's that?" Naruto asked quizzically while walking towards the door to peer outside, Sasuke on his toes.
As they opened the door to look at the commotion, Sasuke could've sworn that angels were real.
"Oh my God, Skaura! You look amazing! I knew red always suited you the best!" Mikoto gushed over the dressed up Sakura who continued to pull the awkward smile on her face. She never was the greatest with accepting compliments.
"Thank you Mikoto-san." Sakura said with an awkward laugh. This chiffon was itchy and the tight-lacing was suffocating her. She really just wanted to get the shoot over with.
Mikoto seemed to have fawned enough over the pinkette and went towards the set to give directions to the crew, and Sakura took that moment to catch her breath. This corset was really bruising her ribs.
As Sakura was sitting on the couch to take a breather, she almost didn't notice the stylist coming towards her. She looked up at Haku as he approached her with a nervous smile .
"Ah Sakura-san, do you feel okay?" He asked with a slight waver in his voice. And that put Sakura in a more attentive posture. He was fine a few minutes ago, what's up with him now?
"Yes, I'm okay." Sakura replied with a suspicious tone.
"Ah, okay." And then it was silent for a long while, before Haku decided to just throw his words of concern to her.
"Ah, Sakura-san, you know, is your situation at home okay?" The question seemed to agitate Sakura as her shoulders tensed up and her eyes sharpened to cold stone. At Sakura's increasingly questioning stare, he hurried to clarify, "I mean, like, are you comfortable, or is someone trying to… hurt you?" his voice got lower and lower at the blank stare Sakura was giving him. Maybe bringing it up was a mistake.
Sakura gave him a long stare at his questions. Where did all this cone from? And out of everything, why did his mind run to abuse first? "I mean, I live alone, so there really isn't anyone here to hurt me."
"Ah okay." And Haku seemed all too ready to run off, when Sakura grabbed his wrist to stop him. "What made you come to that conclusion." Was the straightforward question Sakura threw at him.
"Well, I-" Haku stumbled in his words a little before swallowing, taking a deep breath and lowering his voice so that only two them can hear what he's saying. "When I was dressing you up, I saw- I saw some deep bruises on your waist and thighs. And when I was putting on your boots, I saw a mark on your ankle. Is someone hurting you? Please tell me then, I can help." Haku finished putting out with pleading eyes.
Sakura eyes widened with every word spoken. 'Shit… I forgot to conceal the wound.' Sakura remembered making a mental note to conceal the wounds on her waist and thighs, but it totally slipped her mind when she was rushing to get ready for her work. And the rope marking on her ankle was completely forgotten by her.
Seeing that Haku was still looking at her, she cleared her throat and replied. "No, don't worry. No one is hurting me. I'm fine." But she didn't give any further reasoning for her bruises.
And Haku didn't ask for more. He simply nodded his head, turned on his heel and speedwalked out of the scene.
Sakura gave a long sigh and heavily sat down onto the plush couch. 'I have to be more careful…' She stared at the ceiling with an empty look in her eyes. The leather bindings tied to the footrail of her bed, the vials full of speedheal serums in her firstaid box, a gun and dagger in each of her drawer, and a secret stash of poison coated senbons. No one should need to have these things at their hand reach. But she did. Because that's all she knows. How to be always at attention, how to be always ready to fight.
How to be always ready to kill.
And she knows, that for as long as she lives, she will never forgive those people for what they made of her.
Sakura snapped out of her melancholic thoughts when she heard Mikoto call for her. Pushing down her angry thoughts, she pasted on a smile and walked over to the set. On the way, some movements in her peripheral caught her attention, and she turned her head towards the movement only to feel a nerve ticking in her forehead.
Naruto and Sasuke, both of them peering through the Uchiha's office door, staring straight at her.
'assholes…' She thought in irritation as she also in turn stared unblinkingly at the pair. If she's awkward, them they're all awkward.
Though she was staring at both of them, her attention seemed to be more fixed on Sasuke, and the new, a much stranger look that he had in his eyes. And that was unnerving her. It looked as if he was seeing her for the first time, or like he was seeing through her. As id he was seeing things more than she led on.
It was as if he was seeing the real her.
Sakura felt goosebumps rising on her skin and she tore her eyes away from them and speedwalked to the set.
Mikoto's eyes lit up when she saw the pinkette and Sasori beside her lazily fixed the camera. " Sakura! Get on the set! We're about to start any second."
Sakura had half a mind to just leave the blonde and the duckass be, but Sasuke's stare was making her unnaturally nervous. And no way will she be able to work in that kind of state. " Mikoto-san, I hope you don't mind, but can you tell your son to stop with his owlish staring."
Mikoto paused at her words and turned her head to find that yes, her son and the blonde were staring pretty intensely at the pinkette. She was about to tell them to go inside when she got an idea. Mentally grinning at her devilish plot, she called out to the pair.
"Sasu-chan! Come out! Why don't you sit here and watch the photoshoot!"
'What the hell!' Sakura yelled in her head at what Mikoto just suggested. 'Why would she tell them to watch me?'
She was about to tell them to back the hell away but it seemed to be too late for that. The Uchiha and the Uzumaki were already walking towards the rest of them, and telling them off now would seem like an insult to his mother. But oh she was so close to punching the asshat in his face especially when he was giving her that smug, arrogant smirk.
It was so annoying but she would never admit, even to herself, that it was also just as sexy.
So instead, she chose to glare at him.
"Okay Sakura, get on the set."
At Mikoto's command, Sakura decided to end her little staring contest with Sasuke and get on with her work. She went in front of the royal background and stood there awkwardly. Even though she was supposed to model, she had no idea how she was supposed to begin.
It was when Sasori decided that it was his cue to step in and help her. "Sakura-san, position yourself with your back facing the camera and look over your shoulder."
At Sasori's command, Sakura arranged herself in the said position. Hands behind her back, back facing the camera, slightly tilted, looking over her shoulder and trying her best pull off the seductive look in her eyes. She held the position pretty well, until she heard snickering coming from the unwanted pair standing off to the side and felt a nerve ticking in her forehead.
'Those assholes…'
After a few clicks, she heard Sasori's command to change up the position. She altered her pose to facing front, one hand on her hip and the other one oh her chest, hips slightly cocked to one side and her facing tilted up and forward, staring at the camera through half lidded eyes.
While Sakura was doing all that, Sasuke was standing a little further away from the shoot, his dark eyes intensely analysing the pinkette dressed in red chiffon. He had felt a gradually growing tolerance between them, which can also be dubbed as something akin to a friendship. However, right now, he was seeing much more than just a normal, overstressed medical student.
And he wasn't just seeing a temptress wrapped in red, he was seeing an enigma. He could've only been lost in her beauty and sensuality like in their last time together, but now he was seeing past that. Who actually is Sakura Haruno? She definitely isn't normal. She was analysing every graceful movement she made, the way her dainty lips puckered up, how her toned arms moved to adjust the position, the way her back muscles moved and flexed that he saw through her backless dress.
And he definitely felt the way her deep, green eyes turned to stare at him momentarily.
Oh he was definitely going off the deep end.
He easily could've just stayed content with his banters with her and having her as someone… he still wasn't sure he would want her as what. But she just had to go and make herself all that tempting, and enchanting, and enigmatic and everything she shouldn't be if she knows what's best for her.
And now, here he was digging himself in deep just to find out even a sliver of information that would clue him in about her life. Who is Sakura Haruno? Where is she from? Is she a secret spy sent to destroy regimen of countries or sent to just drive him mad?
'Goddamnit…'
His mental musings were cut-off when he heard a low whistle coming from the blonde standing next to him. Sasuke looked at him and found him just staring ahead and following his line of vision, he felt his eyes widen slightly and the tip of his ears burn a little.
'Holy shi-'
There was Sakura on the set, as she has been for the past half an hour or so, however that was not what was surprising, it was her pose and what he was the addition to the outfit. Sakura was sitting on a throne like prop, her skirt bunched up around her thighs and her long legs showing off the shiny, black, high heeled boots that made his mouth dry. He elbows resting on her knees and her face held in her hands.
And she looked so tempting. Sasuke swallowed thickly and averted his eyes off to the side lest she catches him staring at her legs and gives him hell for it later.
Meanwhile, Sakura was thankful that they couldn't see her embarrassed blush from under the foundation. She wasn't new to wearing skimpy, seductive dresses for the sake of being looked at for some of her missions, but this one still made her clammy and nervous, for some reason.
Maybe the reason was the guy standing off to the side who has been staring at her for the past what felt like an hour. She was minutely grateful right now that atleast he seemed to be busy looking at something else.
'God this is so embarrassing…'
So for a while, she just buckled herself up and waited until Sasori was done with the clicks, and she could finally breath after what felt like an eternity of embarrassment. That is, until she heard the next sentence from Mikoto.
"Okay! Onto the next dress!"
'Nooooooo…'
Eight hours later, Sakura fell down heavily onto her bed minutes after she got in her room. She was tired, exhausted, worn out, fatigued, drained and every other synonym she could think for her state. Who could've guessed that modelling could be so challenging.
"I swear to God, if she tells me to model for her again, I will sue…" Sakura mumbled to herself tiredly as she tried to get her shoes off with her foot.
She has gone through four dresses, one right after another. Four different dresses, four different makeup, four different hair and four different stages of grief. The dresses were gorgeous, she would admit, and not to be vain, but she also looked drop dead gorgeous in them, but she would just rather not go through the whole experience again.
And that jerk-face Uchiha has just stood off to the side, staring and laughing at her misery!
The next time she gets her hands on the Uchiha, she is going to rip his annoying-ass hair off.
Sakura pulled her shirt over her head and pulled her shorts down her leg leaving her in only her underclothes, and pulled the covers over her form. As she prepared to sleep, her mind drifted off to the dresses. The first one red chiffon, gold flowery vines and silk gloves. The second one, a midnight blue, like the night sky, sparkling rhinestones making a butterfly on her bodice, the skirt a large volume of soft silk, the jewelleries of a thick necklace and a sparkling tiara. The third one an emerald green, the thick silk hugging her body so close and the off shoulder sleeves wrapping around her arms like a fan, draped in emerald chiffon flowers all on her skirt and top like vines wrapping her in finery, the jewellery minimal of a simple gold pendant and bracelet. The pendant was her favourite, a gold butterfly, as if flying away to land on one of the flowers. And the last dress was really the show stopper, a rich silk of royal violet colour, spaghetti strap, backless, slit on one leg, silver butterflies from the bottom of the skirt, the train long and trailing, the ornaments of silver earrings and thick necklace.
Debatably the most amount of skin show, but unarguably the most beautiful.
But that was not the reason they stayed on her mind.
Ever since she was a little girl, she has always dreamed of dressing like a princess. Wrapped in fine silk and draped in the most exquisite jewels. A tiara on her head, going to a ball, meeting a dreamy prince that would sweep her off her feet and make her life a fantasy.
But they took it all away from her.
Instead, they turned her into a monster, made her life a living nightmare. Instead of princess gowns, she wore battle armour. Instead of fine jewels, she got armed with weapons and firearms.
And instead of meeting a prince charming, she met a dark knight.
And she was much thankful for that.
Sakura cursed herself when she felt herself falling deeper in her memories. She's better off forgetting them, would do her less harm. She turned over in her bed and buried her head in her pillow and tried to think off anything else, a random song, any movie, any interaction, and weirdly her mind turned to the source of her annoyance.
'Not that jackass…' Sakura grumbled in her mind as she tried to avert her mind from the younger Uchiha. She really didn't need to think of him right now. She's better off not mixing up her already jumbled thoughts and emotions.
They'll only end up hurting everyone in the end.
As Sakura clenched her eyes shut, her mind slowly drifted into the blissful abyss of nothingness, with only a pair of intense eyes printed on her brain.
"Coward."
A stone cold voice reached Sakura's ears as she stood facing the ground. Her hands and eyes still but her insides a nervous mess. She's so dead today.
"Is this what we made of you! A coward? An useless, no good fool who cannot do what's asked of her?"
'I'm so dead, I'm so dead, I'm so dead…' the same words repeated in Sakura's head as she felt her eyes burning, but strangely, or not so strangely, felt no sign of tears. Maybe that's a good thing. Tears are for the weaks afterall, right?
Sakura moved her eyes to look at her hands, her small knuckles rubbed raw and bloody, a bruise already forming on her wrist and she was sure her nose was bleeding too. She wondered if she would be told to fight again, until she passed out or got her bones broken.
"Is this the best you can do? Is losing the only thing you are good at?" only silence met the cold voice, "Answer me brat!"
Sakura minutely flinched at the booming angry voice and tentatively replied in a small voice, "No Mama…". After a moment of silence, Sakura added in a choked voice, "I'm sorry Mama…"
It was silent after that in the room for a while, all the other ten occupants, all young and small, waited with a baited breath on what will happen next. After what felt like an eternity, the voice gave a command, "Roman, throw this brat in the rainbow room."
And just that sentence alone made Sakura's blood run cold. Her eyes widened and she felt like someone just punched her in the chest. Her blood was rushing to her ears and she felt her vision blotting from terror.
"No, no, nononono…"
Sakura whipped her terrified eyes to the tall woman standing in front of her and screamed mercy. "Mama! No please, no! I'm sorry, I'm so sorry! I'll do better! Please no, NO!"
And next thing she felt was a paining sting on her cheek and her elbows straining from her fall on her ground.
"Don't open your mouth unless you're asked off, brat."
Then the next thing she knows was two people dragging her by her arms towards a dark secluded room on the whole other floor, all the while she repeated her apology like a mantra to the woman guiding them.
Her terrified ramblings only increasing in volume as she the dreaded metal door, with an innocent rainbow on it.
"No, NO, NO! Mama, please NO! NO!" and she was thrown in the room and the door was locked, but she didn't relent. She got up and ran to the door, banging and screaming.
"NO! NO! PLEASE, NO! I'M SORRY! I'M SORRY! PLEASE LET ME GO! NO!"
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing
Sakura scrambled up from her bed in cold sweat, instinctively getting off the bed and make a mad run for it, only for her ankle to get jerked back in a violent pull and Sakura falling face down on the hard floor.
"Ahhhhh, fuck…" Sakura groaned in pain in her face and from her ankle, finally seeming to be coming to her senses.
'Another one of those. Great…'
She looked at the ringing device sitting atop her bedside table. The loud noise was making her head hurt even more. Deciding to end her suffering, she carefully got up and went over to pick up her cell phone.
"Hello…" Sakura answered groggily, her throat dry and her voice hoarse. Her body was drenched in sweat yet she felt cold. Her heart was palpitating and felt logged in her throat.
But the next words from the phone put her a rod straight attention, as if the trigger from a petrified child to a fearless soldier.
"White Viper, SOS"
"Yes Ma'am." Came Sakura's immediate response, even though her mind was running hundred miles an hour. SOS, this was different. What must be this urgent?
"Mission 375, Be ready in 15 minutes"
"Yes Ma'am." Belatedly deciding, she asked, "What is the mission?"
However, the shock the next sentence gave her, she could never have been prepared enough.
"Sasuke Uchiha is being held hostage."
AN : Ahhhhhhhhh! It's done! How was it?
So Sasuke got kidnapped… nothing shocking. He always pisses off the wrong people… because he is stupid. But who got him? Can you guess?
Anyway, another news is that I'm currently working on a new oneshot fanfiction. Like, I have an idea, I just haven't fleshed it out yet.
Anyway, leave a review, tell me your opinions, I'm open to all kinds of criticisms. I need to know what my readers are thinking! Is it good? Is it bad? It is interesting? Or is it annoying? People need feedbacks to improve (and reviews are kind of like my caffeine, as I have mentioned previously, they keep me energized and motivated you know), so please leave a review!
Anyway hope ya'll enjoyed this story! Eat good, stay hydrated and stay safe, and I'll see you in the next chapter.
Happy reading!
Bye!
