Three days after he had washed up on shore, Jase was sitting at a table at Rikki's Cafe with complete confusion written on his face.
"This doesn't make sense," he said while sitting there on his laptop looking up the tide chart from the other day.
"There's no way I should have been able to wash up on that beach," thought Jase. Quinn then pulled him away from the computer by sitting next to him.
"You have been sitting here on your computer for a while now, what has you so confused?" asked Quinn.
"I've been looking up tide charts from the day Danny threw me into the ocean and things just haven't been making any since," said Jase.
"According to these I should have been washed further out to sea, not to that beach where you found me," he said.
"It's just a miracle, Jase and we can't explain that," said Quinn who was a little worried about him searching any further.
"Okay, say that was a miracle, how do you then explain seaweed getting tied around the propeller of Danny's boat in a part of the sea where it doesn't grow?" asked Jase.
"I don't know, maybe it's another miracle," said Quinn.
"There's no way seaweed got neatly tied on that propeller by a miracle or I washed up on the beach because of one either," said Jase while turning back to the screen.
"Something else has to be going on here and I'll get to the bottom of it," he said. As he was looking at the screen, Quinn was looking at him with a worried expression. That evening at her house, Quinn was sitting with her parents while having dinner.
"Wait, you think Jase may be on to your secret?" asked Zane.
"He figured out that the tide should have washed him out to sea and not to the beach as well as been questioning the seaweed getting tied around Danny's propeller," said Quinn.
"I'm afraid he's going to keep searching until he finds the truth," she said.
"Well, there's a few choices for you to make, but first you need to call Casey and Jasmine and tell them," said Rikki.
"Right after dinner," said Quinn.
