AN: Written for Rare Pair February
It was a warm and sunny day.
In the wind, the trees gently rustled, and Autumn leaves fell to the ground. Squirrels ran across the grass, rushing from place to place gathering food for the forthcoming winter. Birds swam on the pond and the sounds of the city beyond were little more than a murmur.
For the elderly couple sitting on a park bench, it was the perfect place to eat lunch.
"It's such a beautiful place," the old man said as the two of them ate. "Truly you are blessed to have such a place nearby."
"I wish that you could stay," she said and the old man sighed wistfully.
"As do I," he said, before shaking his head once more. "But there's still so much I have to teach Ladybug and it's only a matter of time before Hawkmoth catches up with me." He paused and looked her in the eyes and held her hands in his. "Say that you'll wait for me?"
The old woman laughed.
"Fu, I've waited for around seventy years. I would wait another seventy for you," she said and Fu smiled.
