"So, you were a cop?" Leo asked Jake.

"Yeah", Jake confirmed. "I was pretty popular at my precint, but I was really dirty", he lied.

"Nice", Leo chuckled. "You smoked meth?"

"Nah, just took a lot of bribes", Jake lied once again. "Also, that's why my landlady kicked me out and I'm pretty broke."

"Harsh", Leo commented. "I mean, I get if they fire you for smoking meth, but for taking bribes?"

"I know!", Jake replied. "Also, can you recommend me some places to live?"

"You'd better move to Queens", Leo suggested. "That's where my family started off".

"Okay, thanks for the info, gotta go look for a place to live!", Jake got off his chair.

"Wait", Leo stopped him. "A friend of mine, Derek is looking for a roommate. I'll take you there."

"Oh, thanks!", Jake thanked and both men got out of the bar.

After twenty minutes, Jake and Leo got to Derek's apartment. The latter knocked to the door. After a short while, someone opened the door. It was Derek.

"What?", he asked, tired and annoyed.

"It's the new candidate for your roommate", Leo answered.

"I don't give a damn, just let me sleep!", Derek replied.

"Can he just stay for the night here?" Leo asked.

"No. Goodnight", Derek said and locked the apartment door.

"Guess I'll have to stay at yours tonight", Jake told Leo.

After a while, the men drived to Leo's house. As they went in, Jake saw a woman near the sofa.

"What is that man doing here, Leo?", she asked him.

"Courtney, this is Jake Peralta, he's just got fired from the NYPD", Leo answered. "He's gonna stay here for a night."

"You used to be a cop?", Courtney asked Jake in a suspicious tone.

"Yeah, I did, but I was dirty", Jake explained himself.

"Pardon my wife, she just hates cops", Leo said.

"Does he really have to stay here?", Courtney asked her husband.

"Court, please, it's just one night. He'll see Derek tommorow and live with him", Leo tried to convince her.

"Alright, fine", his wife sighed. "He may sleep on the couch."

For a few minutes, Leo and Courtney were setting the couch for Jake, while he was bringing the things he took for the undercover mission from the car. After a few minutes, he was going to sleep.

"Make yourself at home, dude", Leo said, before Jake turned off the lights.

"Thanks, buddy", Jake replied. "Goodnight."

"Same", Leo responded.

But that night, Jake barely got any sleep. He still was thinking about his friends from the Nine – Nine: Terry, Rosa, Gina, even Holt, Charles and Amy. And especially her, because before he went undercover, he told her, that he liked her. And now, he was gonna spend half a year without them.

"This is gonna be hard", Jake thought to himself.
