Izuku woke up the next day later than usual, a side effect of staying up all night tossing and turning in his bed in anticipation of the day's events. His phone was buzzing with notifications once he went to check it, filled with words of support and encouragement from his close and only friends. He instinctively started scanning for a snarky message wishing him luck from a certain purple-haired girl, only to remember that they hadn't traded their contact information with each other yet. His father had left a message of his own though, and his day was off to a great start.
I was wrong. My day is off to a terrible start.
As it turned out, Izuku had slept in for so long that he was bordering on the line of being late to the entrance exams, a horrible outcome that was absolutely unacceptable. On that day, an outsider peering into Izuku's life might think he had a speed quirk, as he rushed around their apartment in a haste to get ready for the exams.
Inko's head popped out from behind a corner, thinking Izuku was just getting out of the shower like he usually did every morning. "Izuku, breakfast is ready!"
Her call didn't get a response, making her frown as she walked towards the bathroom. She didn't hear the telltale sound of the shower from behind the door, and opening it revealed that her son was nowhere to be seen inside the room.
"Izuku? Where are you?"
Her response came in the form of a green blur zooming past her, the streak yelling out a string of hurried apologies as it ran around the apartment. "Really sorry, Mom! Gotta go now, can't eat. I'll grab a bite at the konbini if I can! I can't be late to the entrance exams! I'll just have to endure my hunger if I don't have time to eat. See you later, Mom!"
Inko blinked once and Izuku was gone, the only sign he was ever there being the door to their apartment hanging open.
"Maybe I should've checked to see if he was awake earlier after all," she sighed before closing the door her hurried son had left ajar.
"I made it just in time…" Izuku huffed as he skidded to a stop right outside of UA's imposing gates. A few other applicants wisely steered clear of him, since he probably looked absolutely deranged to them. After all, he was practically dead on his feet, huffing and panting as he leaned against UA's gate to steady himself.
"Hey there, Greenie. Took you long enough to get here, I've been waiting for almost an hour now. You need to make that up to me by getting me a free meal later, by the way." Izuku felt a pat on his back, and he hurriedly turned around, jaw dropping to the floor at the sight of Kyoka standing before him in her school uniform. So far he had only ever seen her wearing pants, jeans, and occasionally shorts, so the sight of her in a skirt felt extremely out of place. It was a welcome change of style though, not that Izuku was bold enough to tell her that.
"Kyo? What are you doing here… Wait, don't tell me you're-"
"Yep! I'm gonna apply to UA as well," Kyoka piped up, the corners of her mouth turned up the slightest bit at Izuku's flabbergasted reaction to her very late and very sudden announcement. "You said it yourself that if you could be a hero, I could be one too, right? Better pass these exams then, Greenie. My future in heroics depends on you!" she joked, bumping shoulders with him as she passed by and headed for the entrance to UA proper.
"I- You- Whu-" Izuku spluttered, rebooting his brain as he attempted to process that this was her answer to his unspoken question. It wasn't the whole answer, not when he knew she was still hiding something much more personal, but at least now it looked like she had the confidence to try and become a hero. He'd just have to make sure he became one alongside her.
"Hey, wait up!" Izuku called out, scrambling after her right as UA's gates closed behind him, signaling the start of one of the most chaotic days Izuku had ever experienced since his elementary school field trip.
It took a few minutes for them to find the auditorium where the orientation for the exams was being held, the roughhousing Izuku and Kyoka did as they sabotaged each other while racing their way there not helping at all. By the time they got there the orientation was already in full swing, and they had to make their way through throngs of students to find a pair of seats that weren't already taken.
"Over here!" Kyoka whisper-shouted, jabbing Izuku in the ear with one of her jacks to get his attention. Izuku tried yanking on it in retaliation, but the pointy object had already whizzed back to its owner, leaving him no choice but to sigh and make his way over to where Kyoka was.
Once he finally managed to get into his seat, Izuku tuned in to whomever was giving out the rules and pointers for the exam, eyes widening to the size of dinner plates once he realized it was one of his favorite heroes. "Oh my god, it's Present Mic! I listen to his radio show every week, and now I get to see him in person! All of UA's faculty really are pro heroes, huh. Is he using his quirk right now to be loud enough to reach all the way back here, or is that just his natural vol-"
Izuku's rambling was cut off by a soft giggle from the girl sitting next to him, and he quickly slapped a hand over his mouth in mortification. Kyoka - noticing that Izuku had stopped talking and was now staring at her - quickly threw her hands up in apology.
"Hey, hey, Greenie. I wasn't trying to be mean. It's just amusing to see you geek out over something so passionately," Kyoka said, her tone teasing while her smile shifted into something more wistful. Once again, there was another part of her backstory that Kyoka wasn't telling him. He had no right to know, of course, but it still hurt him seeing her holding herself back.
Izuku was so focused on his seatmate that he completely forgot they were in the middle of an orientation for the exams.
"-nd you two there! You, with the curly green hair, and you, with the purple hair wearing earphones!" The two teens sporting the aforementioned physical attributes turned their heads to face the one speaking; a bespectacled teen pointing in their direction like he was exposing the scum of society. "The two of you are being extremely distracting right now with all of your jabbering, which is highly disrespectful of this prestigious academy. If this is nothing more than a game to the two of you, then please leave immediately!"
Izuku was about to stammer out an apology mixed in with a few bows, but Kyoka had a different idea. Her face twisted into the same determined lour she wore back when they almost got into a fight, jacks rising in the air like twin serpents that pointed right back at the blue-haired teen. "If we're being distracting, then what about you? Standing up and causing a scene by yelling out loud over a question that probably would've been answered if you just had a little patience doesn't seem like something someone who 'respects' this school would do, right?" Kyoka questioned, fingers making air quotes as she spoke.
The bespectacled teen looked like he wanted to retort, but Kyoka beat him to the punch. "And another thing, I wasn't using earphones. This is my quirk," her jacks slithered around the air to drive her point home further, and the instigator of the whole affair looked like he had just been struck in the chest at the revelation. "If you really want to be a hero, maybe you shouldn't be so quick to jump to conclusions next time."
Kyoka flopped back down into her seat, the blue-haired boy still reeling from the unexpected response to his sudden call out. A medley of whispers had broken out all around them, and Izuku squirmed at the feeling of so many eyes on him. That didn't stop him from turning in his seat to give Kyoka a thumbs-up though. "Wow, Kyo! That was amazing!" he exclaimed with a wide smile.
Izuku had no idea, but Kyoka was eternally grateful that the auditorium was dark enough to hide her blush.
It didn't take long for Present Mic to get everyone hushed and listening again after the slight kerfuffle, and the orientation got wrapped up pretty soon after that. Izuku and Kyoka had miraculously ended up in the same exam group, so they agreed to meet up again after the written tests were over.
After the written exams, Izuku ended up waiting for Kyoka on the bus that would transport them to the examination center for the physical tests. It took a substantial amount of time for her to arrive along with the rest of the hero hopefuls from their exam room, and he realized he was the only one who had finished the test before time was up. That got him worried that there was actually a hidden portion of the written test he hadn't noticed, but his worries were quickly pushed aside once Kyoka plopped down next to him.
"Jeez, I always knew you were pretty smart, but I didn't think you were smart enough to finish that hellish test so fast, Greenie," she chuckled as she adjusted her boots. Kyoka had ditched her school attire, much like the rest of them, opting instead to do the test in some more comfortable clothes. For her, that meant her signature style of street wear.
At the risk of sounding arrogant, Izuku decided to raise a question, "The test was hellish?" It certainly didn't seem like that to him. The essay portions were actually quite invigorating for him, since he could jot down his thoughts and feelings on particular topics instead of just vomiting out things that had been drilled into their heads at school.
"Oh, yeaaah. Those essays really did a number on me, and even though I can speak English, it's still a pain having to write things in English," Kyoka griped as her ear jacks made practice jabs in front of her. Izuku had no idea if she was warming up for the physical test or if her jacks were moving unconsciously due to her emotions, but he made sure to scoot back the tiniest bit just in case the jacks decided to make a detour for his face. "Makes sense that it wasn't too hard for you though, what with all those notes you write down all the time," she said, grinning widely as she settled her feet back onto the floor of the bus, her shoes all prepped and ready for action.
"Yeah, I guess I had a lot of practice," Izuku chuckled, cheeks reddening slightly at the praise. Being around the straight-forward girl had made him much better at taking compliments, but hearing those praises come out of her mouth in a way that was completely natural and not at all like she was just trying to appeal to him just really hit differently.
The bus screeched to a halt, Izuku's brows furrowing in confusion at how quickly they had arrived at their destination. He peered out of the window, getting the shock of his life as his eyes roved over a giant city walled in by concrete that was tall enough to be suited to giants. He couldn't even begin to imagine how much metal made up the giant double doors the bus was parked in front of. And he didn't have to, because something pointy gave him a good old poke right in the side, startling him back to reality.
"Gawk later, Greenie. We have a test to ace." Kyoka turned around and got off the bus, the confidence in her declaration masking the almost imperceptible shaking of her hands.
Right. We need to pass these exams first. Everything's been leading up to this moment…
As it turns out, Izuku got off the bus just in time. As soon as he walked up to stand beside Kyoka, Present Mic yelled out from a tower far in the distance, telling everyone that the test had started. Kyoka - and pretty much everyone else - seemed to be confused at the announcement, but Izuku was familiar with sudden starts. His hand latched out to grab hers as they ran past the rest of the confused examinees, getting a small headstart. Once they were inside the city, Izuku let go of Kyoka's hand so they could move easier. Despite not making any plans for how they would tackle the test, they stuck to each other as they ran, only stopping once they came across their first robot.
It was a three-pointer, resembling a mechanical tortoise with twin rocket launchers on its back instead of a tough shell. It came to life with a mechanical whirr, eyes blinking red as it started to move towards them.
"You have a plan, Greenie?" Kyoka asked, her eyes flicking back and forth between him and the robot lumbering towards them, quickly closing the distance of 20 meters.
"W-well, your cords could probably slow it down, but it seems strong enough to break out of them if it starts to move."
15 meters.
"Having you jab a hole in it is bad for you in the long run… but do you think you could slip your jacks through its gaps and destroy it from the inside?"
10 meters.
Kyoka's eyes scanned the robot, and Izuku was certain she had noticed the obvious holes in its defense as well. "Yeah, I could probably do that. What are you gonna do though?"
5 meters.
"The same thing I always used to do back when I trained in the dojo," Izuku crouched down into a running position as he spoke, murmuring a prayer to whatever deity was listening out there that this would work out. "Punch above my weight class."
Izuku kicked up dust as he took off like a bullet, running around the robot's flank as he desperately hoped his theory was right. The three-pointer pivoted to track him, no doubt trying to correct its aim so it could blow him up with whatever missiles it had loaded onto it.
UA wouldn't load their robots up with real explosives, would they?
As if the robot had read its mind, the missile launchers strapped to its back made a clunking noise like something had just been loaded into it. Izuku knew robots weren't supposed to be able to show emotions, but he swore the way the three-pointer shined its eyes at him was filled with bloodlust.
If I stay far away, it'll just blow me up. So my only option now is… fuck.
Izuku had accepted long ago that he wouldn't have a quirk, and that he would just have to become a hero without the advantage everyone else was born with. On a few rare occasions though, much like the one he was currently experiencing, he cursed fate and destiny with every fiber of his being for making him quirkless. Even something as simple as making his skin a bit tougher than normal would've been a great asset since he was trying to take on a robot with his bare fists.
In most situations, charging a metal monster that dwarfs you in size is a terrible idea, but this was the only card he could play. He breathed a sigh of relief as the rocket launchers on the three-pointer's back powered down, indicating that it couldn't shoot him. That was the good news. The bad news? The three-pointer didn't need missiles to squish him underfoot like a bug.
Izuku let out a most unmanly shriek as he rolled out of the way of a metal foot trying to stomp him into a human pancake. When its attempt at flattening failed, the three-pointer decided to try a different tactic. As soon as Izuku clambered to his feet, he was knocked back down by a force slamming into him from behind, sending him flying into the side of a parked car.
He lay on the ground in a splayed heap, his back aching but not severely injured. A few bruises were forming on his body, and he really hoped that was just because he got yeeted at a car instead of anything more serious. Izuku got back up just in time to see Kyoka send a vibration of sound inside the three-pointer, rendering it useless.
Since he felt good enough to walk, Izuku stood up, wincing at the spike of pain that shot up his back.
Ow… that's definitely gonna come back worse in a few years.
"Greenie! Are you alright?!" Kyoka ran up to him, her face scrunched up in worry. It was the first time he had seen that emotion on her face, and a treacherous part of his brain pointed out that she must care for him a lot if she was that worried for his safety.
"Totally fine!" Izuku said in the most chipper voice he could muster. "I've taken bigger beatings than that before."
"If that's supposed to make me feel better, you're failing miserably," Kyoka deadpanned. The small smirk on her lips betrayed her true feelings though, and Izuku knew she was just relieved he was alright.
"This isn't going to work."
"Huh?" Kyoka gave him an inquisitive look at his sudden statement.
Izuku gestured at the defeated husk of the three-pointer, "Assuming the points are split between us, we only gained one and a half points from that. Factoring in how long it took us to take it down… I don't think we'll be able to pass like this." The proud face Kyoka wore from their small victory faded into a frown as she thought about what he just said. Izuku sighed as he rubbed a hand against his temple, knowing what would have to be done.
"We should part ways from here on out. You can easily take down robots on your own, so I'm just an unnecessary burden. I-" Izuku was stopped by a solid punch to his arm, this hit somehow hurting worse than the three-pointer's despite not even having half of its power behind it.
"Don't you dare say that! You're not a burden, alright? We're going to become heroes together, and so help me I will stab you to death if I pass this thing and you don't," Kyoka growled, her ear jacks looking extra pointy for some reason.
Izuku raised his hands in surrender, visibly startled by his friend's vehement response to his offer. Although, he really should've known that was how she would respond.
"O-okay then. If that's how we're going to do this… I have an idea." Kyoka nodded in a gesture for him to continue, still fuming from his suggestion, but willing to listen. "You said you can hear vibrations with your quirk, right? I need you to listen for a lot of mechanical noises, but without fighting noises."
Kyoka seemed confused at his request, but did as he requested, plugging her jacks into the street with a slight flinch. Izuku would have to look into ways to toughen up the ends of her jacks so that she didn't get so hurt whenever she had to plug her quirk into more solid materials.
After a few beats of silence, Kyoka pointed a finger down the street. "It sounds like there's a lot of robots that way. No fighting near them either, but I can't confirm whether or not someone else is there if they're walking silently."
Izuku placed a hand over his brows like a sailor spying land, peering into the direction Kyoka had pointed at. "How far are they?"
Kyoka hummed in consideration. "We could probably run there in less than half a minute. Why?"
Emerald eyes glinted excitedly as he spotted a four-story parking garage in the distance, close to where he assumed the robots Kyoka had found were. The idea that he was formulating on the go had turned into a full fledged plan, whether or not it was a good one would remain to be seen.
Izuku loved robots back when he was a kid, almost as much as he loved heroes. The idea of normal humans being able to control giant mechas or use cybernetic enhancements really appealed to him during a few years after he learned he was quirkless. After today, though? He didn't really like them anymore.
If any other examinees were nearby, they would hear a rumbling sound akin to that of a herd of stampeding bulls, except much more metallic in nature. The reason why? Izuku was being chased down by nearly two dozen assorted one-pointers and two-pointers, all of their glowing red eyes locked onto him as he hurtled down an empty street as fast as his legs could take him.
I really need to come up with better plans next time…
Izuku looked up at the sky as he approached the killzone, spotting Kyoka waving down at him from above. He flashed her a shaky thumbs up before doubling his pace, stopping right at the entrance of the parking structure to make sure all of the robots were still following him. That was probably a mistake, since a rubber bullet from a one-pointer nearly beaned him right in the head. Apparently, all the noise his little parade made had attracted even more robots, and some of them were ahead of the main pack.
Not wanting to get a concussion, Izuku rushed into the depths of the car park, his motley band of mechanical followers hot on his trail. Izuku's lungs burned with each step, his feet begging for reprieve, but he couldn't stop. The thunderous beat of his heart served as his tempo, putting one foot in front of the other in perfect sync. The edges of his vision blurred, and Izuku had no clue if he was going really fast or if he was going to pass out really soon. Perhaps it was a combination of both.
I need a moment to catch my breath. Just a second or two won't be a proble-
"Greenie! Hurry up and get over here!" An indiscernible blob with purple hair was waving at him from the floor above, clapping her hands together repeatedly in a gesture for him to keep moving. Her encouragement breathed a second wind into him, and Izuku managed to sprint the final leg of his little game of chase up to the top floor of the garage. A brief glance behind him showed the metal horde still after him, all of them clanking and clunking as they raced up the ramp leading to him.
"G-get ready!" Izuku rasped out, only now realizing his throat was absolutely parched. Thankfully, Kyoka still understood what he was trying to convey. She ran over to her position, which was at the opposite end of a large hole which led all the way down to the bottom of the parking garage. [13]
"Run now, Greenie!"
Not yet.
The robots at the front of the pack were less than a car's length away from him now.
"Greenie! What the hell are you doing?!"
Not yet…
If Izuku reached out with his arm, he could probably touch the outstretched arm of the two-pointer that was aiming to strike him with its fist.
"Izuku!"
Now!
Izuku took off a millisecond before the robot's hit could land, running like a villain trying to escape All Might in Kyoka's direction. The robots were so close behind him that he could practically smell their mixed scent of oil and fresh paint. Two white streaks zoomed past him towards the robots, both carrying an unmarked red container. A new smell accompanied the sound of liquid splashing onto the ground behind him, and he crossed his fingers in the hopes that the robots weren't programmed to be smart enough to realize his trap.
Their unmistakable sounds of movement didn't cease, causing a wide grin to spread on Izuku's face. The end of his path was soon approaching, and he only just realized how far he would actually have to jump once he was only a few steps away from the edge.
No turning back now.
Izuku's feet left the ground, and for a brief second, he was in a state of absolute elation. The feeling of weightlessness combined with the adrenaline pumping through his body made him feel like he was on cloud nine. Sadly, that didn't last.
"AHHHHH!" Izuku screamed as gravity got a hold on him once more, his hands stretching out to try and catch the other end of the hole in the roof on Kyoka's side, because it was obvious he hadn't jumped far enough to land on his feet.
My hero costume will have gloves. Really tough gloves.
That was the thought that passed through Izuku's mind as the flesh on his fingers were torn to shreds, his hands desperately grappling to find purchase before he fell to his doom. Multiple swooshes of air and whirring machinery echoed from behind him, followed by a cacophony of loud crashes down below a few seconds later. Once glance confirmed that his plan had worked, and the pack of robots following him had tumbled off the edge of the hole and fallen all the way back down to the ground.
Something shifted under the tiny grip he had, and in one blink, Izuku was falling as well.
What goes around comes around, eh?
Before Izuku could even begin pressing play on a montage of his life flashing before his eyes, two white cords snagged him by the arms, stopping him from falling any further. The cords pulled him back up, accompanied by a loud grunt of effort from their master.
"Damn, Greenie! You're heavy!" Kyoka griped as she fell down onto her keister. She was sweating profusely, and Izuku felt a pang of guilt for having her exert so much effort to save him.
"I'm really sorry." Izuku bowed in apology, but a smack from one of Kyoka's ear jacks got him standing straight up once more.
"Nothing to apologize for. You had a good plan, and we probably have enough points to pass the exam now," Kyoka sighed, a smile present on her face despite how tired she looked.
"O-oh, alright. Thanks for saving me, by the way."
Kyoka laughed, a melodious sound that was quite unlike her brusque personality. For a split second, Izuku wondered if the rocker girl's love for music extended past just being a fan. A question for another time.
"No need to thank me. It's what heroes do, right?"
Izuku didn't know why, but he found himself mirroring Kyoka's smile. Something about it was just absolutely infectious.
"Yeah, that's what heroes do."
The two of them just stayed there for a while like that, their gazes wandering to the opposite end of the roof, where Izuku had jumped off from. The trail leading from the ramp to the edge of the hole was slick and shiny, an aftereffect of Kyoka pouring gasoline behind him as he ran so that his pursuers wouldn't be able to stop their forward motion. They had been extremely lucky that one of the cars parked in the garage was a tow truck for emergency purposes, meaning it had a stash of gasoline on it.
Izuku's plan was extremely risky, relying on the hopes that the robots wouldn't care about the gasoline, and that he would be able to jump over the gap. One and a half of those factors went right, and that was good enough for him.
"How many points do you think that was?" Izuku asked, splayed out on his back as he let his muscles rest. "I wasn't really able to get a headcount since I was running for my life."
Kyoka shrugged, also splayed out next to him. "There were definitely more than two dozen robots after you, and most of them were two-pointers… so about 50 points maybe?"
It was a lot of points… for one person. Split between them? Izuku had no idea if it was enough, but this was the extent of what they could do. They were both absolutely spent, Izuku moreso because of all his running. Kyoka probably still had a little energy left in her, but with the remaining time, it would be a miracle if she even managed to find another robot before the exam was over.
"So, what now?" Izuku asked as he shifted his position to face her. It was a rather simple question, but it had a multitude of meanings behind it. Kyoka turned onto her side as well, their eyes meeting. There was an emotion hidden behind hers that Izuku couldn't decipher, and he was much too fatigued to even try.
He never got an answer though, because the world came crashing down around them. Their only warning before the earth swallowed them up was a loud mechanical groan echoing far above them as a shadow of a colossus covered them in darkness.
UA's faculty was composed of numerous veteran heroes, whose job during the entrance exams was to watch the students to see who stood out. They also looked out for injured examinees, making sure to send medi-bots to those who needed help. At the current moment though, they were doing neither of those. Every single person in the room was freaking out at the sight of two examinees being buried under a building.
"Goddamnit! Get Cementoss, Hound Dog, Power Loader, and Recovery Girl over there right now!"
"Why didn't the zero-pointer have its safety protocols active?!"
"Make sure none of this leaks to the press!"
The observation room was in absolute chaos, everyone inside running around like headless chickens, save for two individuals.
The first was a disheveled hobo with a scarf wrapped around his neck, who held a tumbler of coffee in one hand and a clipboard in the other. He looked like the word sleep didn't exist in his vocabulary, his tired eyes surveying the screen displaying the wrecked remains of what was once a car park.
The second was an indescribable creature whose origins could not be traced. Anyone who dared guess ended up completely stumped, and after a few tries everyone gave up. He wore a dark suit that contrasted quite well with his white fur, his beady eyes watching the very same screen the hobo was fixated on with interest. The finely dressed creature sipped his tea calmly while watching the live footage, his quirk-enhanced mind running through all the possible outcomes.
The most probable outcome, of course, was…
Everything hurts.
Izuku couldn't breathe. He couldn't see. He could barely even move his body from his current position. He felt like he was trapped in a nightmare with no way to wake himself up and escape it.
Ragged breaths coughed out from below him, and he blinked his eyes a few times to get his vision adjusted to the darkness. After a few seconds, he could finally make out the outline of Kyoka's figure beneath him. She was lying on her back, a long gash spanning across her chest. It didn't look deep, but it was still an open wound. Kyoka wasn't awake, and Izuku hoped she didn't have a concussion or anything worse.
Everything hurts.
Izuku wanted to stem the blood flow by wrapping a makeshift bandage around her, but he couldn't risk moving. Or, to be more accurate, moving from his current position just wasn't an option for him.
Not when he was the only thing supporting the weight of the debris above that would've crushed them long ago if he hadn't gotten on his hands and knees to stay over Kyoka like a shield.
Not when there was a piece of rebar sticking out of his chest, probably punctured his lung as well if his wheezing breaths were any indication.
Everything hurts.
No one had come to rescue them.
Izuku had no idea how long they had been trapped in their makeshift coffin. Kyoka still hadn't stirred, but she was breathing, so that was probably a good sign.
The debris above him groaned, dust falling everywhere around them. His limbs were threatening to buckle from the weight, but he held strong. His chest felt like it was drowning in a pool of lava, but he forced his lungs to breathe in and out. His spine was teetering on the edge of snapping like a pencil, but he couldn't let that happen.
It would've been a great time for him to suddenly discover the hidden quirk he had inside him all this time. But this wasn't some shounen manga, and he certainly wasn't the main character if that was the case.
Everything…
He had to stay awake.
If he fell asleep now, they would both die.
Izuku still had a promise to keep with Kyoka, and he'd never broken a promise before in his life. He certainly wasn't going to break one while on the brink of death.
Faint sounds like shouting called out from above. He tried to reply, to call out for help, but all that came out of his mouth was a trickle of blood that splattered onto the debris below him.
Hurts…
The last thing Izuku saw before everything faded to black was a bright light that shined down onto them, revealing something connected to Kyoka's chest that he had never seen before. As he drifted into unconsciousness, he belatedly realized that that was the secret she had been hiding all this time.
[13] - If you're wondering what the parking garage looks like, it's like the parking garage from the final fight between Baby and Buddy in Baby Driver. That movie is an absolute masterpiece and all of you should definitely try watching it if you like that genre.
Oh, were you not expecting me to suddenly drop a major twist and then a cliffhanger right after? You've obviously never seen any of my past fics before then XD
