Chapter 27:

(Olivia POV)

- 3 years later -

I finished getting dressed in a dress that was more expensive than anything else in my wardrobe I looked myself in the mirror as I finished working on my hair. I heard a knock on the door and turned to see Mateo, "Hey you look great." I smiled, "Thank you." "Juan, Padre Sanchez is already at the church and Camilo is waiting for you," I nodded my head looking back in the mirror making sure that I looked put together. "Olivia you look great now go to the wedding. I'll meet you there after I get Cecilia and Miguel ready." I smiled, "I'll see you there."

I made my way downstairs and saw Camilo standing there in a suit. "Are you ready to go?" I asked and he turned to face me, "You look amazing." I smiled, "You are looking handsome as well. We better go. I don't want to be late." He laughed, "Yeah like they could start the ceremony without us there." I rolled my eyes, "Come on." "Hey, hold on a second," He said pulling my arm back, "Aren't you forgetting something?" I smiled and placed a kiss on his cheek, "Come on let's go." I took his arm and we began making our way to the church.

(Camilo POV)

I kept looking back at Liv from the alter, she was smiling up at me as I stood at the end of the aisle. The wedding march started and all eyes turned to Dolores as she began making her way down the aisle. I turned to look at Mariano still not sure why he choose me to be his best man. I mean I was the 18 year old brother of his fiancée but, we were pretty cool.

Dolores looked really happy throughout the entire ceremony but I just kept glancing back over at Liv. She was sitting in our old pew and she was so entranced with the ceremony. I couldn't wait to talk to her after I could go back to her. "Camilo, Camilo I need the ring," I snapped back to attention as Mariano was facing me for the ring. I reached in my pocket and handed him the ring, "Sorry." There were some laughs within the church but I just smiled back at Liv who was looking at me now rolling her eyes but she was smiling the entire time.

As the ceremony ended I had to go and stand with the family for pictures and thanking everyone for coming before we would go back to Casita. I watched as everyone made their way back and took a bunch of photos but, I kept looking for Liv in the crowd. Finally I saw her leaning against the doorway of the church. I made my way over to her smiling, "Hey what are you doing here in the corner." She smirked, "Enjoying the show. How many pictures did you guys take?" I loosened my tie a little bit, "Too many. We better head over to Casita the reception is starting soon."

(Olivia POV)

He held out his arm and I wrapped mine around it. We walked back over to his family, "We are going to head to Casita." They all turned to face me, "Come on why do you keep hiding Olivia away from us." Isabella whined. I couldn't help but laugh at Camilo's stunned reaction, "Keep him out of trouble Olivia." His Papa said. I smiled at them "Hey," Camilo said clearly offended. I just nodded my head "I will. We will see you all at the reception."

We were walking away as he stopped to look at me, "My family trusts you more than they trust me." I couldn't help but smirk, "Well they are good judges of character Cameron." He rolled his eyes, "I tell you one lie in 4 years and you never let it go." He made it sound like he lied about his favorite color or something, "You lied to me from the moment I met you until 6 or 7 months into us talking." He shook his head, "No way it couldn't have been that long." I remembered everything about those first days that we knew each other, "Yeah it was." He kissed the top of my head, I loved it when he did that, "Cameron was incredibly stupid." I shoved his arm pushing me away, "Hey he introduced me to you, didn't her?" He laughed nodding his head, "I suppose he did."

(Camilo POV)

The party was going and Liv and I were on the dance floor more often then we were not. I don't know why Liv loved dancing so much but, I was happy to oblige in any way I could. We made our way off to the side and into the kitchen to get some food, "I'll make you a plate. Why don't you find us a place to sit down?" I said. She nodded in agreement and went off outside where tables had been set up. I began making our plates when I saw Mama and Abuela walk in. I instinctively changed because I had two plates in my hand, even though I knew that one was for Liv. I was about to change back as they started talking, "It was a wonderful ceremony Pepa. Dolores was such a beautiful bride." Mama nodded her head, "Yeah I'm so happy that she is happy with Mariano."

Abuela nudged her, "Well I wonder if Casita should take the decorations down since we probably have another wedding in the future." Another wedding? Which one of my cousins was dating someone? Mama looked at Abuela, "Mama you promised to stop pushing us, our gifts and our personal lives." Abuela nodded her head, "I know but they started dating on their own. Come on Olivia and Camilo are perfect together." I almost dropped my plates. They were talking about Liv and I?

Mama sighed, "I know that they are good together but they are 18. Let's let them be 18." Abuela went to chime in again, "Well let's see their wedding would take at least a year to prepare maybe 2. By then they would be 19-20. That's how old I was when I got married. Not to mention that your sister got engaged at 19 and married at 21 and you got engaged pretty young as well."

I had to change back at this point, "What?" Abuela and Mama stiffened, "Camilo? Why were you just Señor Chaves?" "I will be asking the questions right now. Why are you talking about Liv and I getting married?" I asked looking back and forth at both of them. Abuela leaned in, "Is it so crazy to think about. You have been dating for over 3 years now. You introduced her to the family and everyone loves her. Why is it so bad that I want her to be a member of our family?" I sighed, "That part is not bad. It is the fact that we are both 18 where I have a bit of an issue." Abuela sighed, "Camilo no one is going to make you do anything you don't want to, but it seems like Liv and you might be heading down that path. Let your Abuela dream a little." I sighed, "I'm not saying it will never happen. I'm just saying it probably won't happen soon."

(Olivia POV)

I sat at a table and I could hear people talking as they walked by. I would see them point at me smile to themselves and laugh. I sighed just waiting for Camilo to come back. I knew that everyone in town was always watching me because I was a Santiago and because I was dating a Madrigal but I was used to it at this point.

Suddenly I saw Dolores making her way over to me, "What are you doing away from the dance floor?" I smiled, "We were both getting tired Camilo is getting us food now." Dolores nodded her head as she sat down next to me. She looked around the room, "I'm pretty sure that most of these people are here for Mariano." I smiled at her, "Well I'm here for you." She chuckled, "Please you're here for my brother." "And you," I said and she started laughing. I then saw more people pointing over at me and I let out a long sigh. Dolores looked over at them and back at me, "Oh. Do you want to know what they are talking about?" My jaw dropped, "Wait really?"

She shrugged, "Yeah. Like I said they are here for Mariano anyway." She lifted her ear a bit to the sky and listened quietly before turning to face me, "They are just saying how you are Camilo's girlfriend and that your wedding must be next." My eyes widened, "Oh so people think we are going to get married soon?" Dolores nodded her head, "Well yeah I mean you guys have been dating for a while now. Have you ever had that conversation?" I shook my head, "No we haven't." Dolores shrugged, "Well for what it is worth I think you would be great together." "Dolores," Someone called out. She smiled, "Got to go bride and all." I nodded my head, "I will see you later." I sat back in my chair thinking about what she said. Is Camilo thinking the same thing? Did that scare me as much as I thought it would?

(Camilo POV)

I picked up the plates and found Liv saving a seat for me. I put down the plate in front of her and she smiled at me, "What's on you mind?" I let out a breath, "Do you ever think about the future?" She seemed surprised by the question, "Sometimes." She admitted. "Do you think about it?" I shook my head, "No. I mean I know that I love having you in my life and I like the path that my family and I are on, but I never really thought about the future before."

I was looking over at her gauging her response. She looked up at me, "Did someone mention us getting married to you too?" I let out a choked laugh, "Someone said something to you." She pointed around and I saw all the eyes were on us, "Everyone has been saying it. Um Dolores listened in on someone for me and they were saying how I'm apparently expected to be the next Madrigal." I ran my fingers through my hair, "I swear people keep trying to make us grow up faster and faster." She smiled at me, "Well hey if we are talking about it do you think we are going to be there someday?" I thought about it and nodded my head, "Yeah. Someday I think we will be there, just not right now." She nodded her head, "I agree."

(Olivia POV)

After we finished eating Camilo asked if I wanted to dance again but I asked if we could walk around instead. We were making our way around when Camilo stopped and looked at me, "Liv remember when I said I only lied to you once." I nodded my head, "Yeah. It was earlier today." He sighed, "That was a lie. There was one other thing that I lied to you about." I looked up at him, "What?"

He sighed, "That day in the church with your Papa. He didn't just leave Encanto, he died." I nodded my head, "Camilo, I know." His eyes widened, "What? When?" I had a sad smile on my face as I let out a breath, "Padre Sanchez told me 2 years ago." His jaw dropped, "He did?" I nodded my head, "Yeah, I was having nightmares that Papa was going to come back and he told me about it." Camilo let out a breath, "Are you mad at me?"

I shook my head, "No. I'm not." "But, I lied to you..." He started. "Are you trying to make me mad at you?" "No, no I'm not I swear it's just... well last time I lied..." "I didn't talk to you for 5 months," I said and he nodded his head, "Look I wasn't happy that you lied. I wasn't happy that any of you lied but the more I thought about it, it made sense why you didn't tell me and I forgave you without ever telling you that I did." He smiled at me, "Really?" "Well kind of I also avoided you for a week," I said. He thought back and then looked at me, "All those excuses from Cecilia." I nodded my head. "I never brought it up because I thought Padre Sanchez told you," I said, "and when you never brought it up after I figured we were just letting it go." He leaned down and gave me a kiss, "Is that everything?" I asked. He nodded his head, "All the major stuff. Got to keep some mystery around." I laughed shaking my head, "Ok. I can live with that."

"Wait should I be mad now?" He asked. I shrugged, "I don't know but I know that you can't stay mad at me for long." I planted a kiss on his cheek just off from the corner of his lip. He smiled and was leaning in for another kiss when we heard more whispers about us. I groaned slightly. He smiled down at me, "You know. I know somewhere we can be alone." "Won't your family miss you for pictures and stuff?" He shook his head, "No I fulfilled my family obligation for today, besides I know Dolores won't get mad at me and it is her day so they can't get mad at me either." I smiled at him, "Are we going to Limbo?" He shook his head, "No we are going somewhere much closer."

(Camilo POV)

I took her arm and we re-entered Casita through a back door. I whispered to Casita, "Stairs." All the stairwells had been tucked away for the reception so we were the only ones who were going to be able to get upstairs until the end of the reception. We made our way upstairs and we snuck over to my room. I opened the door and watched her eyes widen as we went inside, "People weren't kidding about the size of your rooms."

She turned to face me, "What is with all the mirrors though." I smiled at her and pulled back the curtain. I didn't know why but when Casita was rebuilt all the pictures in my room came back, "I used to forget what I looked like. I had trouble turning back into myself after turning into everyone else all day. So I used to take picture of myself to remember what I looked like." She looked at the pictures and I saw her smile dip for a second, "I don't know why but there is something different from picture to picture. I can't place it but somethings is off." I smiled at her, "You are the only person who ever seemed to notice." She smiled at me, "Well I'm glad that I can." I pulled her in for another kiss and we each deepened it with each passing moment. "I love you Liv." "I love you Camilo" she whispered on my lips.
