The city of Townsville was unusually quiet. There has been no crime reported, no cries for help from the mayor, and no sightings of villains. It was the perfect time for the Powerpuff Girls to take a vacation from their daily routine. They chose to have a family picnic in the Greenvale Forest, which is a lovely area north of Townsville. It was said to be an enchanted forest, which made the girls even more eager to visit it.

"You think we'll see magical ponies, like the Pretty Puff Ponies?" Bubbles gushed, holding up a pink pony figurine. It was a very popular toy line among little girls.

"Keep an eye out and maybe you'll will." Professor Utonium happily said, patting her head.

"Blech!" Buttercup cringed, "Can't the ponies have laser-beam eyes or something cooler than singing songs?" She wasn't a big fan of the cutesy-wootesy world of Pretty Puff Ponies.

"Hey!" Buttercup retorted, clutching her pony.

"Ok, that's enough." Blossom said, "Let's just go on the picnic."

Professor Utonium had brought all of their favorite meals. Blossom tasted some excellent peanut butter and jelly sandwiches the Professor spent the morning making. Bubbles enjoyed some delectable blueberry flapjacks dipped in maple syrup. Buttercup munched down on a delicious T-Bone steak. Professor Utonium then revealed what would be served for dessert: strawberry cake! The girls wasted no time in slicing it up and wolfing it down. It tasted as if the strawberries had just been plucked from the vine.

The girls were stuffed after that. They patted their inflated tummies caused by the goodies. Despite this, they still wanted to do some more sightseeing of the forest.

"Can we go explore the forest now?" Blossom asked.

"Why of course you can, just be back before sundown." Utonium agreed.

"Yay!" the girls beamed.

"C'mon! Let's go look for the ponies!" Bubbles exulted. She took her sisters by the hands and flew into the forest. Professor Utonium smiled and reached for a science book to spend his time.

The Greenvale Forest was absolutely gorgeous to the girls. There were oak trees towering above them and flowering shrubs in abundance. The forest was abuzz with the sounds of birds and insects singing their little melodies. Everything appeared too beautiful to be real.

"Here ponies, ponies, ponies!" Bubbles called out. Her voice echoed throughout the woods.

"Come on Bubbles, what makes you think those sugary-sweet ponies will be here?" Buttercup doubted.

"Cause its magic! Wherever there is magic, the Pretty Puff Ponies are never far away!" Bubbles affirmed. She continued to search around and call for the ponies. Blossom was uncomfortable and torn at the same time. Pretty Puff Ponies, she'd been told in school and by her peers, weren't real and were just lumps of plastic toys. She would never want to spoil that magic for her sister, who believed it so passionately. But as she kept wandering aimlessly around the woods calling for them, it was becoming harder to hold in.

"Look Bubbles," Blossom started, "I'm sorry to say it, but I don't believe the Pretty Puff Ponies exist."

Bubbles let out a huge gasp and clutched her pony toy closer to her.

"You take that back about the Pretty Puff Ponies!" she ordered.

Suddenly, a bug quickly flew by the girls. But it wasn't just any insect. It had the appearance of a little horse with enormous butterfly wings. It was pink like a flamingo and had rich maroon colored mane. Its wings were a translucence cyan.

"Oh my gosh! It's a fairy pony!" Bubbles squealed.

"Or a horsefly!" Blossom exclaimed.

The creature, seemingly offended, flew back to them with something to say.

"Excuse me, I am not a 'airsefly! I am a breezié!" the little creature spoke with a very strange accent.

The girls were taken more aback. They had never seen anything like this before.

"You can talk?!" they gasped.

"This can't be!" Buttercup faltered.

"This is impossible!" Blossom said in utter disbelief.

"Of course, it's possible!" Bubbles chirped back at her sisters.

"But how?" Blossom puzzled, "How is there a tiny colorful pony with wings? How does it speak English? How does it fly? How does…"

"Are you done?" the breezie asked impatiently with her hooves crossed.

"Sorry, I got so many questions here!" Blossom said.

"And the answer to all of them is magic!" Bubbles responded passionately, "right, little breezie."

"Sure," the breezie nonchalantly replied, "now zat zat lit-tell exchange eez ovair, I 'ave got zumzing importént to look for. Zo…Pon Voyage!"

As soon as she said that, she darted off into the forest.

"No wait! Come back!" Bubbles cried. She took off after her, followed by her sisters. The little breezie was amazingly fast. However, the girls continued to fly towards her as if she were prey running from a predator.

"Don't go! We want to be your friend!" Bubbles shouted. The breezie happened to look behind her and noticed the girls chasing after her. She came to a complete stop in her tracks to return her attention to the girls. When the girls noticed this, they came to a halt too.

"You...you girls 'ave supair powairs?" she asked dumbfounded.

"Yeah, we're the Powerpuff Girls." Blossom explained.

"Heroes of Townsville!" Bubbles said enthusiastically.

"And bad guy butt-kickers!" Buttercup added to sound cool. The breezie appeared overjoyed to hear this, and her entire demeanor changed.

"Oh, at last!" she exclaimed, "I 'ave final-lee found a hero, or rathair heroes!"

The girls were perplexed.

"Heroes? That's what you were looking for?" Blossom asked.

"Why of course." The breezie gladly pointed out, "Ze Préttay Puff Ponées from ze Land Undair ze Rainbow are een dangair from a great threat. But zere are not a lot of heroes een zat land zo I was sent to your land to find a hero."

There was a lot to unpack from just those few sentences. She had just confirmed that the Pretty Puff Ponies existed and that they lived in a place called the Land Under the Rainbow (something the girls never heard of.) And there was a major threat looming over these magical ponies.

"Oh no, we have to save them!" Bubbles fretted.

"Hold on," Buttercup halted, "We can't just go to some magical pony land right now and save it. What about the professor? He said we gotta be back by sundown."

She was secretly looking for an excuse not to go to this evidently sickeningly-sweet land. The breezie let out a light chuckle.

"Don't fret," she assured, "time runs diffairéntly between zis land and ze Land Undair ze Rainbow. You should be back béfaire zis profezair guy even notices you're gone."

"C'mon, we never say no to a call for help!" Blossom said, placing her hand on Buttercup's shoulder. "Even if it's from colorful ponies."

"Hurray!" Bubbles smiled, "let's go save the ponies!"
