"Kamijou-san, we can admit the baby to the nursery now, if you'd like to sleep. We know it's been a long night for you," said a nurse as she swept into the room. She spotted Nowaki and smiled. "Oh, hello. Are you Daddy?"

"Hello," Nowaki said softly, as to not disturb Hiroki, who was on the brink of passing out completely. "Yes, I am her father."

"If you'd like, we can take the baby to the nursery so Mommy can rest before we give you the paperwork for the baby," the nurse offered quietly. "We'd also like to double check for error one more time so you can take her home soon, okay?"

Nowaki frowned down at Fuyumi, who was sleeping soundly in his arms. He stroked her hair, unable to bring himself to hand his new daughter to the nurse.

"Sir, I promise we'll be very careful. She will be in good hands," the nurse coaxed gently. Nowaki sighed.

"Okay."

He reluctantly turned to the nurse, who smiled understandingly down at him. He outstretched his arms to hand Fuyumi to her.

"Wait, wait," croaked a voice. Nowaki's arms faltered. He and the nurse turned to Hiroki, who was blinking tiredly at them. "Don't take her to the nursery without putting her baby bracelet on. That's my baby, and if she gets mixed up with some other brat, I'll rip your throat out."

The nurse blinked, taken aback. Nowaki chuckled nervously and stood from his chair. Hiroki held out feeble arms as Nowaki passed the baby to him. Hiroki cradled Fuyumi as Nowaki reached into his pants pocket. He pulled out the diamond baby bracelet.

"Hold out her arm, Hiro-san," Nowaki murmured. Hiroki gently took Fuyumi's elbow and held out her arm. Nowaki slipped the tiny baby bracelet onto her wrist.

"Perfect," Hiroki breathed. He let his head flop down onto the bed. "Okay… you can take her now."

Nowaki chortled, scooping Fuyumi back into his arms.

"Sir, you're Kusama Nowaki, right? Our documents said that you're a pediatrician, would you like to run the tests on your daughter yourself?" the nurse offered. Nowaki considered it for a moment, staring down at his baby. His eyes flicked to Hiroki, who had gone back to his half-conscious state.

"I've already done a few basic tests. Almost everything is normal. Her labia swelled a little more than I expected, but I suspect it's just the testosterone from Hiro-san acting up. She was wheezing a little bit earlier, but I'm sure it was just a little mucus. Still, I'd like her to get some blood screens done," Nowaki said quietly. "I'm sure you want to run a few more complex tests, and I'd love to do them myself. But right now, I want to be here with Hiro-san."

"Alright."

The nurse smiled once more as Nowaki went to her and carefully passed his sleeping baby to her. He watched the nurse turn and sweep out of the room, his arms feeling empty.

"Nowaki."

Nowaki turned back to Hiroki, who had opened his eyes again and was watching him with glassy, tired russet orbs.

"Yes, Hiro-san?"

Hiroki silently moved his hand so it was hanging off the edge of the bed. He outstretched it towards Nowaki. Nowaki went back to his fiancé's bedside and sat down on the chair. He took Hiroki's hand, interlacing their fingers.

"Is there anything I can get you?" Nowaki asked.

"No. I've got everything I need right here," Hiroki mumbled. Nowaki smiled and brought Hiroki's hand up to his lips to kiss his knuckles.

"I'm so sorry I wasn't here for the birth," Nowaki whispered. "I'm so, so sorry."

"You were here, weren't you?" Hiroki asked quietly. He lolled his head towards Nowaki, smiling exhaustedly. "All I needed was your voice."

Nowaki sighed.

"Thank goodness… I guess I missed a lot though, right?"

"Not much… you missed all of the blood. You missed the placenta, thank God. Um… Nagasaki-san gave her a few shots, and he cleared her nose and mouth of the birth fluids… the umbilical cord was just disgusting, so don't even worry about that."

Nowaki chuckled softly.

"I missed the first feeding, didn't I?" he asked sadly. Hiroki frowned.

"…Yeah… but it wasn't that special. I mean, I don't have…um, breasts or anything, so they just used some baby formula."

"Oh."

Nowaki looked down, and Hiroki feebly squeezed his hand.

"Don't worry, Nowaki. There are plenty of other firsts for you to experience," Hiroki soothed. Nowaki looked up and smiled.

"Okay."

Nowaki watched Hiroki lovingly as he dozed against his headrest, his eyes just barely open.

"Hiro-san, I love you."

Hiroki smiled.

"It's about time you said that. I love you too."

"Kamijou… Kamijou…" a voice whispered. Hiroki mumbled incoherently and his eyes peeled open to reveal Miyagi standing over him with a smile on his face.

"Miyagi…? What are you doing here?" Hiroki croaked.

"I brought Shinobu to come see the brat," Miyagi said. As Hiroki woke up more, he saw that Shinobu was also in the room, chatting softly with Nowaki off to the side. In two armchairs in the corner, Akihiko and Misaki cooed over Hitomi, who was suckling on her pacifier as she slept.

"Oh wow, everyone's here, waking me up. Are you people aware that I just shoved a fuckin' boulder out of my butt?" Hiroki muttered sarcastically, reaching up to dazedly rub his eyes with balled fists. Miyagi laughed.

"You seemed so much nicer with a baby bump."

Hiroki grimaced.

"Yeah, well, I'm suffering from Fuyumi Separation Anxiety. Where's my kid?" Hiroki asked, glancing around.

"She's in the nursery. The doctors said she is a perfectly healthy baby."

Hiroki laughed cynically.

"Oh, really? That damn brat. Everything's all peaches and cream for her. What about me? It feels like a bomb went off in my ass," Hiroki grumbled. Miyagi threw his head back and let out a bark-like laugh.

"Oh man, Nowaki, you should hear the drugged-up shit coming out of Kamijou's mouth right now!" Miyagi snickered, looking over his shoulder at Nowaki, who perked up.

"Hiro-san's awake?" he asked. Shinobu scowled at Miyagi, putting a hand over his swollen belly.

"Stop bothering him, old man!" he barked.

"Shut your mouths, Tomi-chan only just fell asleep!" Akihiko hissed. As if on cue, Hitomi's pacifier dropped out of her mouth and fell to the floor. Her eyes snapped open and she started to cry, clenching her fists up against her chest. Misaki yelped and stooped down to grab the pacifier. He stuck it in his own mouth to clean it off, then offered it to Hitomi, who turned her head away and wailed.

Hiroki and Nowaki, meanwhile, looked on in disgruntled silence, Nowaki chuckling nervously and Hiroki squinting and blinking. When the noise of the room finally died down, and Hitomi's cries had dwindled into whimpers, Hiroki spoke up.

"Hey… did Miyagi say drugged up?" Hiroki asked, glancing up at Nowaki. He shifted uncomfortably, glanced at the other men in the room, then stooped down to Hiroki's ear.

"Yeah, you're on vicodin. You have severe internal hemorrhoids," Nowaki whispered. Hiroki paled.

"…Oh," he rasped. He turned to the other men. Miyagi looked positively giddy, Shinobu looked frightened, Akihiko only pursed his lips, and Misaki smiled in sympathy.

"Guess you and the big guy won't be having buttsex for a whi-" Miyagi began in a high pitched voice, making a rude, sexual gesture with his hand.

"Get the fuck out," Hiroki said flatly, pointing towards the door. "All of you."

Before anyone could say anything more, the door to the room opened and a nurse stepped inside.

"I apologize for interrupting, but visiting hours run from six in the morning to nine in the evening. It is eight-thirty now, so start thinking about leaving Kamijou-san for now so he can rest tonight," the nurse said, bowing slightly. "You are all welcome to have dinner in the cafeteria."

"Hey, wait, does Nowaki have to leave too?" Hiroki asked, frowning worriedly at the nurse. She smiled at him.

"If you want him to stay, you are allowed to have one overnight visitor with you," the nurse offered.

"Then Nowaki can stay. The rest of you can get out."

The nurse cheerfully herded everyone except for Nowaki out of the room, unaware of the heated and teasing glances between Miyagi and Hiroki. She closed the door behind them, then turned back to Nowaki and Hiroki.

"Is there anything else you two need? Dinner from the cafeteria, or maybe some magazines to read? Would you like to watch some T.V.?"

"Actually, all I really want right now is my baby," Hiroki said shyly. "Is that allowed?"

The nurse grinned.

"Of course. I'll bring her in. Just sit tight and I'll be right back," the nurse said. She turned and left the room.

"Can't wait to see her, huh?" Nowaki asked quietly. Hiroki glanced at him, blushing.

"Of course. I miss her a lot," he responded. Nowaki chortled lightly and stooped down. He grabbed a latch under Hiroki's hospital bed and lowered the bar on the edge. He climbed up onto the bed, squeezing in beside Hiroki. Hiroki willingly shifted slightly, slowly scooting over.

"I'm excited to see her again, too," Nowaki said. Hiroki smiled.

"Hey… so you haven't told me yet, but how did the surgery go?"

"It went well, Hiro-san," Nowaki murmured. "The baby bracelet helped me."

"Good," Hiroki said softly. "I knew you could do it."

A moment later, the nurse rolled in with a little hospital crib on wheels, a pink piece of paper pinned to the translucent side that had Fuyumi's name and birth date on it.

"Here we go. Just buzz for us if she starts crying and we'll bring formula for her to drink," the nurse said. Hiroki craned his neck to see the baby. Nowaki slid off of the bed and hobbled to the crib.

"Thank you," Nowaki said quietly. The nurse nodded and walked out of the room, switching off the lights before she left. Their bodies were illuminated by the bright moonlight leaking in through the window, casting a warm glow over the little family's pale skin. Nowaki scooped Fuyumi up in his arms and brought her to the bed.

"Fuyumi," Hiroki whispered fondly, outstretching his arms and taking Fuyumi as Nowaki passed her to him. Hiroki cradled her close to him, lovingly stroking her tiny face.

"I hope I don't have to get jealous of the baby," Nowaki joked softly, wheeling the crib to the bedside and clambering up into bed beside Hiroki once more. He draped his arm over Hiroki's deflated waist and watched Fuyumi with his little fiancé. Hiroki turned to Nowaki, smiling.

"We did a good job," he whispered. Nowaki leaned forward and gently bumped his and Hiroki's foreheads together.

"Every new parent says that, silly. I thought you were against the whole 'corny' thing," Nowaki teased. Hiroki grinned and rolled his eyes.

"No, I think we genuinely did a good job," Hiroki said, looking back down at his sleeping daughter. "We're going to have to kill a lot of boys, Nowaki."

Nowaki chuckled lowly.

"She's gorgeous alright, just like her papa," Nowaki whispered, leaning forward again to kiss Hiroki's neck. Hiroki shuddered and tipped his head to the side.

"Shut up. She's got your eyes and hair," Hiroki protested weakly, letting his head flop down onto the raised headrest as Nowaki moved to the front of his neck and suckled his Adam's apple.

"But she has your beauty," Nowaki murmured against Hiroki's trembling skin.

Before Hiroki could shut his eyes and allow himself to be kissed and worshiped by his fiancé, Fuyumi shifted and whimpered in her sleep. Both men snapped their gazes to their daughter. As if sensing that she had her papa and daddy's attention, Fuyumi immediately calmed. Hiroki squinted at his daughter suspiciously.

"Nowaki, I think we have a drama queen on our hands."
