The year is 2022, Total Drama has been gone for far too long many would claim. Turns out buying an entirely artificial island and maintaining it destroys your budget. The network had to make the decision to can the show, as well as entirely shut down Pahkitew Island before things could get more costly. So for over half a decade now, Total Drama remained dormant while the more popular Ridonculous Race aired in primetime.

Until today...

The one and only host now walked around the deactivated Pahkitew Island, with his trusty partner Chef behind him. "You think this can work dude?" Chris asked Chef.

"It ain't gonna work, the network shut down this sucker for good!" Chef replied, stating the obvious.

Chris groaned, then shook his head. "I know that, I was talking about using this place as a location for the next season. It is still an island owned by the network." Chris explained to Chef, raising one finger.

Chef raised an eyebrow skeptically. "But there ain't no gimmick! You really tryna host a plain ol' season like old times?" Chef questioned his logic, knowing how crazy Chris could be.

Chris nodded his head, putting both hands on his hips. "It'd be good for the ratings! Have you seen what some people say about our show online? Apparently they hated when it was 'unrealistic' what we did in the later seasons. Like excuse me, I didn't put those teens through torture for nothing!" Chris complained a bit, much preferring the extreme challenges.

Chef was surprised to hear this from Chris. "So you really wanna do this like old times then?" Chef asked to confirm.

Chris nodded his head, looking at the barren wilderness around him. Since Pahkitew had been left behind for so many years, a good amount of actual wildlife had now begun to flourish. "Yeah, I think it can work, it'd be easy on the budget if we just used this place too. I'll call the network and let them know we can start again finally." Chris told Chef, then pulled out his cell phone.

"And what about the kids? You know the old ones are well... older." Chef threw the biggest factor at Chris now, making the host pause for a moment.

Chris tapped his foot as he hesitated to make the call. "I'll tell the network we have a cast, but we'll have to get a new set of kids somehow. Just put out some ads on Tweeter or ClikClok, that'll get the word out. Whatever the kids use these days." Chris ordered Chef, then called the network.

Ring...

Ring...

"Yo! It's Chris! Yeah! We're gonna use Pahkitew! It'll be simple, just like you guys kept asking for! The kids? We've already got a bunch of them, you probably didn't see the ads. We're good? Great!" Chris zoomed through the conversation, then hung up the call.

Chef was on his phone, trying to figure out how to actually post. "You really think is gonna work out?" Chef asked Chris, growing frustrated as he navigated the ClikClok interface.

Chris gave Chef a thumbs up. "It'll work out, let's just hope these kids actually deliver on the drama!" Chris replied confidently.

Hey! I know it's been a super long time since I've done much of anything on the site really. But to be honest, I just wasn't feeling Total Drama any more for a good while. The community was cool and all, but I just wasn't feeling it. That was until just recently of course, reading some fics here and seeing just how much further the community has progressed in such a short amount of time got me really inspired. My old TD fic universe I don't plan on diving back into unfortunately. The "lore" in it is extremely cringy looking back, although I'll leave those old fics since I'd just be spitting in the face of middle school me if I didn't leave them up. Revenge of the Cruise Ship was pretty much my peak anyway, but hopefully this fic will be a proper resurgence for me!

If you couldn't tell from the title and the premise, this fic is set in... TODAY! Yup! The theme of the season itself will be more chill and laid back like TDI, but the contestants will be anything but chill probably. This is an SYOC, so I'll be accepting 14 contestants for this season, but the catch? They all will be based on teen stereotypes of today! I've seen some pretty wacky labels here and there, but what if a bunch of zoomers made up the cast? Of course you can get creative with this, but that's the general theme for the cast I'm going for.

Simple rules:

1. No Mary Sues, obviously

2. No super powers, zoomers don't have superpowers after all!

3. Send apps in PM please, I don't want to have character details spoiled by the apps being in the reviews

4. Again, try and stick to the zoomer stereotype theme please!

5. Have fun!
