Chapter 15: Coming Clean

Sombra had to admit she had drunk more than she needed to at the bar, she stumbled back towards Watchpoint Gibraltar, her new home. She smiled as the thought crossed her mind, she had not had a place to call home in a very long time, and it was a welcome change in her life instead of the constant running. She wondered how the rest of the girls would fare getting home, however upon remembering that Zarya, and Ana was with them, the worry slipped from her mind. The streets were dark and yet she still felt safe, she had grown accustomed to the shadows, as it had been the nature of her work. Stalking and gathering intel, hacking, data mining. All so Talon could have the little edge they needed to press their targets under their thumb. She got paid to do it, but she was not in it for the money, she was in it for the challenge. She always had a fascination for the challenge of hacking the unhackable, it was her own way of showing people that nothing is "secure", and she enjoyed it. She pondered on these things before the outlines of the watchpoint became visible, and suddenly she found her thoughts drifting, tumbling towards a certain man who had saved her life, in more ways than one. She couldn't help feeling that she owed him more, and that hiding the truth from him any longer would hinder any chances she had with him. She pondered back to Angela's words.

"You and Jesse are quite the pair, and he genuinely cares about you, if you want my advice, you should probably tell him how you feel, maybe he feels the same. You never know."

She knew how Jesse felt, that is the problem. He told her he loved her, and all she could do was say "Thanks." and awkwardly walk away to find a place to hide, she was not used to confronting emotions, only hiding from them. Love and compassion were weaknesses, how could she now against all that she knew and try to make it her strength. These thoughts swirled into her head, but they were suddenly silenced as she reached the door that leads into the watchpoint barracks. She shook her head and swiped the key card that Winston had given her during her introductory meeting. With a granting ping the door slid open and she strode inside. The halls were dark and quiet, moonlight cut in through precise square windows, casting her shadow on the floor as she walked past.

I need to see him now. I need to tell him how I feel.

Her mind was in the right place, but her heart beat faster, and her hands began to shake ever so slightly as she continued to walk down the hall towards Jesse's room. The closer she got the more doubt crept into her mind, the aching feeling of rejection nipping at the back of her mind, causing small twinges of pain in her chest. She approached his door and stood in front of it unmoving, heart pounding with the feeling like it was going to jump into her throat. She raised her hand to knock but hesitated for just a moment. Just then the door abruptly opened, and Jesse stood there in front of her, a look of surprise overtook them both. There was a moment of tense silence before Jesse spoke.

"I was just coming to see if you had gotten back, Hana sent me a very sloppily written text message." He smiled warmly noticing the tension in Sombra's fist.

"I... I just got in." she stammered at a loss for words.

Jesse gestured to the open door. "Can I invite you in?"

Sombra nodded and walked in sitting down on the edge of the bed. Jesse shut the door softly and sat down next to her, absorbing the silence before speaking.

"Listen I know last time I said something I swung for the fences, and I wanted to say tha-"

Sombra cut him off "No, I have something I need to say Jesse, I wasn't fair to you last time, I'm not used to expressing my feelings, and I'm not used to trusting someone like this. If you are going to love me, I need to know you'll love who I truly am."

Jesse without hesitation put his hand on hers. "I don't plan on runnin." he said calmly.

Sombra breathed out a deep sigh. "Firstly, my name isn't Sombra, its Olivia…, Olivia Colomar, Secondly, I don't know why Jesse McCree, but I am in love with you, deeply, stupid in love with you. To the point where it fuckin scares me" she shook her head and turned her gaze toward the floor fearing words of rejection, fearing he would turn her away.

Jesse caressed her cheek and lifted her chin up with a single finger until her gaze met his. "Well Olivia, I love you too, nothing will change that, I swear it."

Olivia felt a warmth rise inside her, she closed her eyes and the distance between them closed. The sensation of his lips against hers was once again upon her yet this time it was different, it was an explosion of passion, his hands caressed her shoulders and worked their way down around her waist. She pushed forward forcing Jesse to lay down as she crawled on top of him. Their breathing intense as they continuously kissed, the world outside and the problems of yesterday became a distant memory. Nothing else mattered but the continuing crashing of their lips, meeting like an ocean meets the shore. They separated for a moment and gazed into each other's eyes a smile crossing from both of their lips. At that moment there was a knock at the door and they both snapped in its direction.

"Jesse it's Morrison."

Sombra slid off Jesse and stood next to the bed and made sure her appearance was neat. Jesse opened the door and saw Jack standing directly outside with a stern look on his face. Jack looked over his shoulder and saw Olivia standing in the dim light of Jesse's room, before looking directly at Jesse.

"Practicing combat maneuvers again?" He said for a small moment a smug grin came across his face.

"Yeah, something like that, did you need something.?" Jesse stepped outside, closing the door.

The grimace immediately returned to his face before he nodded slowly. "We've got a problem."

Jesse nodded slowly. "Okay, would you care to elaborate?"

He put his hand on Jesse's shoulder and said sternly. "Jesse, it's Hana."

Jesse was startled. "What happened!? Where is she!?"

Morrison nodded down the hall toward Hana's room, and Jesse stared at him confused before taking off. He dashed as fast as he could before he got to the door, he braced himself and slowly opened it and was horrified by what he saw. Hana sprawled out on her bed, half dressed, incessantly rambling, about her "step in father's way of raising her is too harsh,", "the internet here is terrible for streaming," and "Phara's mom is doing Rheinhardt." Jesse was dumbstruck by the sheer volume of words flowing from her mouth at such a streamlined pace. Jack had just caught up with him, peeking in on Hana before whispering to Jesse.

"She's been like this ever since they left that bar…" his voice was low so as not to attract Hana's attention.

"God damn it Morrison on that she had gotten hurt or something." Jesse started to walk away but Jack stopped him.

"Isn't there anything we can do." his voice had a light hint of worry to it.

Jesse sighed "It seems that alcohol for some reason gives her the zoomies after its been her system awhile, just let her tire herself out I'm sure she won't remember any of it."

He started walking back to his room as Jack muttered words of thanks under his breath. By the time he got back to his room Olivia had changed her attire into pajama like attire and was sitting on his bed. She looked a little anxious.

"What happened, I heard there was something with Hana, she's not hurt is she?" she said worriedly.

"Hana just got the zoomies," He explained, sounding unconcerned.

"She has what?" Olivia said, completely caught off guard by Jesse's answer.

Jesse explained Hana's situation, the running of the mouth, and Jack's worry.

"She'll tire herself out, and besides there are more important things right now." He said caressing her cheek softly. Olivia smiled affectionately.

"I hope you don't mind if I stay the night with you." she said, slowly pulling herself under the covers, finding a comfortable position for herself on her side. Jesse wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close, immersing himself in the fragrance of her hair.

"I don't mind one bit…"
