hello!:D welcome to another fanfic I wrote! this one won't be as long as the last. fun fact! I dreamt this story out and figured maybe my subconscious wanted me to write more fanfics so here I am narrating my dream! :) hope u enjoy this. I'll try to not have as much grammar or spelling errors like last time too. :')
After a day of superheroing, I'd like to think we were obviously tired. Chat noir couldn't even muster enough strength to tell me another joke even though one would absolutely cheer my gloomy mood today.
It was nighttime. Not many people were around at night so patrolling became a hell of a lot easier but then way more harder when I realized my eyes were begging for a little shut-eye.
"You should head home," Chat tells me. I'm about to protest but he holds a finger to my mouth. "I know you'll say no anyway so at least let me buy you something. I know you're hungry."
"Chat..." I sigh. I'd have said no if he weren't right. "Fine. But we split the check."
"I have a feeling you'll never let me buy you food, like, all on me."
"Well, I can't just sit there and ask you to spend cash on me."
"Trust me, it's worth it."
I look him in the eye but he's smiling at the ground instead. It's not like him to be shy when he tells me such things so I figure something has to be wrong, or maybe I'm just thinking too much about that. I tend to overthink when I'm sleep deprived.
Next thing I know, the two of us are leaping through rooftops and dropping into alley ways. Chat takes the lead and cautiously walks upto this small building in the middle of this maze of alley ways.
"Ah shit!" He says under his breath.
"Woah! What's got kitty all fiesty?" I joke but instead of hearing a laugh from him, he sighs.
"This was supposed to be special, you know? But I guess we came a little bit too late. Now the place is closed."
"It's fine Kitty, we can come here some other day."
He shakes his head. I can see how stressed he is about it so I take my chance to distract him with something else.
"Look." I hold his messy locks in one hand as I untie the ribbons on my hair then tie them around his hair. I don't know why, but he smiles down at me as I struggle to keep his bunch of hair tame. "We're having fun right? We're just two friends having tonnes of fun! So cheer up Chat."
I stand back to look at the masterpiece I have before me: a low ponytailed Chat with a face as red as the ribbon I've tied his hair with.
He holds both of my hands and squeezes them which for some reason makes my heart beat faster.
"I'll make sure I buy you some food some other time. My treat."
I roll my eyes. "Seriously Chat, there's no need to spend cash on me--"
"Hey! Who's out there?!" We both hear an old lady scream from the building ahead of us. She walks out and her tense face becomes soft. "Oh, it's just you two." She stares at us and smiles. "On a date?"
I look at my hands still in Chat's and subconsciously snatch them back before holding them behind my back. "We just wanted some food to go but it seems the place is closed."
I catch Chat's shoulders droop from the corner of my eyes and contemplate whispering a sorry to him but I'm not sure why I want to apologize to him. This wasn't supposed to be a date. It's just him, a friend, buying me, his friend, some food.
"Sorry ma'am. We were just leaving. We'll be sure to come at a later date if that's okay."
I'm surprised Chat's the one who's said those words. You know what, without all his messy hair in his face and with that calm sophisticated demeanor, I'd say he'd make a great Adrien Agreste if he starred in a play with Adrien as a character.
Shoot, actually, Chat's really handsome with that ponytail.
"Ladybug?"
I flinch as I realize that he's been calling me the entire time I've been staring at him. I feel warm all of a sudden when his eyes linger on me so I look away and scratch the back of my neck.
"Yeah?"
"She's offered to reserve a space for us tomorrow night if you'd want?"
"Sure!" I say that way too fast without considering the amount of homework I still have to do, all due next week! Whatever. Chat's smile makes me believe it's worth losing a grade or two.
"Before you go, mind taking these to the trash can over there?" The old lady points into an alley then shoves a bunch of used serviettes in my hands.
"We should probably start heading to that trash can over there..."
"Yeah, probably." We look at each other again, this time, for longer. Out of fear of thinking about Adrien again, I shove a couple of serviettes on his hand and tell him to twirl his way through the maze of alleys towards the trash can before dashing towards them myself.
A few fly out of my grasp as the wind blows past me and forces some of them out of my hands. Before I know it, I'm out of one of the alleys as Chat twirls out of another right beside me.
"Why are you still twirling?" I ask him as I find time to chuckle.
"You said we're twirling our way through the alleys right?" He laughs. "We're both here now." Then, just like that, his face is all serious. He steps forward closing the distance between the two of us. I'm too frozen to even take a step back. "You're so pretty with your hair down like that." Then his hand brushes through the tips of my hair.
"Er, Chat, let's throw away the serviettes first. I don't think, as superheroes, we should be littering the place, you know?--"
"I like you Ladybug," he spews out. "I know I've said this like ten times before but damn it, I like you so much it hurts not telling you. And I can't tell my friends at school about all this cause they'll probably think I'm super weird for liking some superhero I don't know much about. Heck, I think I know you more than anyone else."
Something in my chest makes me feel nauseous. It's not the fact that Chat just told me he likes me (I'm kind of used to that) but it's the fact that he looks so much like Adrien right now. I feel-- what's the word-- shy?
Without thinking-- without another word-- I take turns looking at his eyes one after the other and then I'm kissing him all of a sudden.
I lay my free hand on his chest and one of his wraps around it squeezing gently. He guides it a little further up his chest to where I can feel his pounding heart.
I can feel his lips stretch into a smile as I close my eyes and try to picture Adrien in his place but Adrien doesn't show up in my head. Instead, it's this masked vigilante with dark green eyes and not-so messy hair that I thought I didn't have any feelings for whatsoever.
Maybe it's because I'm sleepy? Maybe me being sleep deprived is messing with my judgement?
"Mmh, Chat!" I pull away. All the serviettes still in my other hand disperse then float around the air like feathers. They fall around us and I can hear them fall. That's how quiet it is now.
"Something wrong?" His worried tone makes me nauseous. This is sick! I'm such a bad person for leading him on but I can't just tell him I kissed him because I was thinking of someone else. I won't be able to look him in the eye after that.
"I have to go home... Lots of homework."
"Oh. Okay. So... See you tomorrow then?"
"Yeah. Of course! Er, night Chat!"
I leap up and head all the way before he can answer that. Hopefully, I can sleep the guilt away...
