The purpose part 13 Those three words
Chapter 44
Voldemort arrived in Egypt within a few days, partly by apparating to close places, stopping to gather information. He had stopped in a wizard pub, the nearest city from the inferi sightings.
*Do you know where those inferi were sighted more precisely?* He asked the bartender who eyed him from head to toe.
*From what I have heard, it was in the desert… people think it's the white dragon priestess who did it, but since no one ever comes back from there… the folks here think it was just a ruse for tourism. Well… not that I care, but a lot of nasty wizards have come here. Egypt is known for the goblin's artefacts.* Said the bartender.
Curiosity picked Voldemort.
*White dragon priestess?* Asked Voldemort.
*Yeah, apparently goblins stole her dragon to guard Gringotts, that Britannic bank in London, because she would have stolen artefacts even though she wasn't seen for centuries. It's just an old tale, sorry you did all this travel.* Said the bartender.
It couldn't just be a fairy-tale, he would go to the end of this.
*Where in the desert?* Asked Voldemort.
The bartender chuckled.
*Man, it became a story we tell children to scare them, but the place is real anyway, so, there's a giant cliff about an hour of walk to the west of the city. Once you see that cliff, you find your way down and follow the creek's current until, they say, the earth splits in two, but I don't know anymore. People try to cross it to their deaths, but the thing is, there's nothing across it, only desert. Good luck.* Said the bartender and then went to serve another client that arrived.
Voldemort left the bar and went to the west of the city, walking an hour into the desert just like the man had said. There was indeed a giant cliff and he could see the creek down below. He jumped down and used his wand to slow down before landing on the ground below. He walked to the creek and followed the current. He used an ice spell and jumped on the ice sheet on the water to go way faster while on the water. It must have taken an hour or two, he did not know, but the water arrived to an end and dried up. He quenched his thirst before continuing by walking. As the sun came down slowly, he saw it from afar. The earth did seem to split in two, before him lay a cliff so deep he could not see the bottom. There was no bridge and about a kilometer away only looked like more desert land. No muggle could do anything, but wizards did do something and had not come back. He narrowed his eyes and passed his wand in the emptiness, muttering spells. The illusion fell down and a massive bridge made of wood and vine appeared, just like a fairy tale. A portal like opened on the bridge and it was completely like another world. Massive trees, vines and jungle like could be seen. Voldemort went through the portal and it closed behind him. He looked back and the cliff was still there, although it looked like he had crossed it and the desert was also seen behind the cliff. He looked again in front of him and there was a small village in a big clearing. It was very dark and hundreds of lanterns lit a path leading to the village and the lanterns seemed to go very far away too.
He made a few steps forward but was suddenly paralyzed, unable to move. A long white haired woman jumped down a tree in front of Voldemort. She had a green cloth around her eyes and wore dragon skin clothes on her chest and hips. She tilted her head and smelled the air as she approached him. Voldemort tried wandless magic, anything to get out of this immobility.
*Free me, fight me with honor!* Said Voldemort coldly.
*Who are you?* Hissed the woman in parseltongue as she was an inch from his face.
He was no longer paralyzed but hearing her speaking parseltongue surprised him and he stepped backwards before pointing his wand at her.
*How did you paralyze me?* Hissed Voldemort in parseltongue.
The woman tilted her head again. *You seek knowledge by hurting me, snake speaker?* Hissed the woman.
The woman's vibes reminded him of Seth. He would not tolerate another person more powerful than him again, but this woman intrigued him beyond his need to murder her on the spot.
*I speak it, I am Slytherin's heir, my name is Lord Voldemort.* Hissed Voldemort.
She made a sad smile and it just confused him more and he lowered his wand.
*Did you make the inferi?* Hissed Voldemort.
*No. My son, perhaps. Nagini, come here.* Hissed the woman.
A snake the size of a large boa constrictor slithered down from the same tree she had jumped down.
*Who are you? How did you paralyze me?* Hissed Voldemort as he eyed the beautiful snake.
*You can't help me, I can't help you, and the skills I use cannot be learnt by someone whose soul if as fractured as yours. I am bound to this place and… since you are… Slytherin's heir, Nagini should please you for coming here. Now be gone, before I change my mind.* Hissed the woman.
Bound to this place? Someone as powerful as her would have been imprisoned here?
*Who are you? What are you?* Asked Voldemort again as he took Nagini in his arms, still looking at the woman.
*Away with you!* She hissed and moved her arms in the air causing a force push and Voldemort was projected through the portal and fell in the desert beside the cliff.
Nagini had fallen on him and hissed loudly.
*And you… will you tell me about her then?* He hissed at Nagini as he stood up again.
*Her name… Cassandra. Vampire. Dragon priestess. I know not more.* Hissed Nagini.
Chapter 45
*Our numbers are not what we once thought. But I speak of vampires that I sired, along with Elena, to hold our nation and apply our laws. You have all sired your own to be within the government and you have all followed our laws, that was expected. The goblins are in a good mood with us, let's keep it that way. The wizards don't even bother with us, nor do they seem to even acknowledge our presence. We have Vincent and Brian within the ministry of magic receiving…* Nathaniel spoke and Seth was half-listening.
In the ballroom, he had conjured a long table with thirty chairs, and it was full. Yaxley and Gellert were in a corner sitting in a sofa while Seth was looking by the window when the ballroom's door opened and Voldemort entered, interrupting the reunion. An uncomfortable silence took place as Voldemort went beside Seth, a huge snake following him.
*Don't stop talking because of me… King Nathaniel.* Said Voldemort.
Nathaniel made a face Seth knew he was very angry and he cleared his throat and continued where he left off.
*There couldn't be anything more insulting than what you just did, V. You have here the oldest and most powerful vampires in this room. Would you have been anyone else, you would have been sent in the cells for disrespect.* Hissed quietly Seth in parseltongue.
Voldemort made a smile and listened to the vampire king and the leader's reports that seemed to last forever. Voldemort had not uttered a word until the end. The vampires bowed to their king and queen and exchanged thanks and good-byes before they left the room. Elisabeth's case had been discussed and Seth had looked for Voldemort's reaction, but his face had been emotionless. Elena went to hug her son before leaving and Nathaniel nodded at Seth before he left at his turn. Seth waved his wand at the table and chairs that considerably shrunk in size to be then placed in a box and moved that box in a corner.
*What's with the snake? Got yourself a new pet?* Said Gellert.
Nagini hissed at Gellert and bared her fangs.
*You'd be a lot more likable if there wasn't a hole in your face that noise comes out from, Grindelwald.*Hissed Nagini.
Voldemort narrowed his eyes and Seth chuckled.
*Apparently, she knows you Gellert.* Said Seth as Gellert's eyes widened.
*Knows me? What, is that Nagini, the blood cursed witch?* Said Gellert.
*You know her?* Asked the dark lord.
Gellert shrugged *Barely, she refused to join me… before.* Said Gellert.
*Before his pathetic ass got beaten by Dumbledore.* Hissed Nagini and Voldemort had a genuine laugh Seth never thought he would hear again.
*Well, I like her. Come, Nagini.* Said Voldemort and left the ballroom with Nagini following behind.
*Git.* Said Gellert.
*Gellert, let's do something with Yaxley, who had been awfully quiet all the reunion… is he asleep?* Asked Seth who nudged at Yaxley who had his cloak and mask on.
He woke up, startled.
*What? Is it done? Did I miss something?* Said Yaxley as Gellert and Seth chuckled.
*Let's go in the mirror room and see how you both fare physically.* Said Seth and then left for the mirror room.
Antonin and Rabastan were already dueling in the room and didn't stop even if Seth entered. Their practicing showed, for he found their uses of spells clever and better. Seth and Gellert eyed each other, smirking, and they acted at the same time. They used their vampire speed to each grab a death eater from behind. Antonin struggled in Gellert's arms, but he was already exhausted from the duel with Rabastan and admitted defeat. Seth had grabbed Rabastan and passed his tongue on his neck. He had a sweet smell and he felt desire coming from him. Rabastan was not moving and breathing slowly.
*You actually want this… Rabastan?* Whispered Seth as he let him go.
Rabastan's ears went red from embarrassment.
*Humans… so vulnerable.* Said Seth as he walked to the benches beside Yaxley and crossed his legs.
Gellert let go of Antonin and pushed him forward and went to sit on the other side of Yaxley, who grunted and stood up.
*Come on Dolohov, let's see your progress.* Said Yaxley as he bowed to him, indicating a will to duel.
Rabastan stepped away and went to a wall, crossing his arms. Antonin cracked his neck.
*Right, Corban, I'm all heated up… Imperio!* Said Dolohov and the unforgivable hit Yaxley directly.
Seth smirked knowing Corban had been able to fight the imperius curse from Voldemort himself when they were younger.
*You should not have done that Antonin.* Said Seth as Corban shook his head several times, getting back to his senses quickly and pointed his wand at Antonin.
*Endoloris.* Muttered quietly Corban at Dolohov who fell on the floor, screaming in agony.
Seth eyed Rabastan who was smiling with a glint in his eyes before he turned back his attention to Yaxley who kept the curse going. He stood up and walked to Yaxley, placing his arms around him.
*You should stop before you drive him crazy.* Whispered Seth to his ear.
Corban lifted the curse, his heart pounding in his ears. Antonin was breathing with difficulty and shaking. Rabastan was heard leaving the room. Gellert sighed and went to Antonin, lifting him up.
*You'll regret… d… doing this to me… Corban!* Said Antonin as he was supported by Gellert.
*I'll bring him to bed* Said Gellert as Antonin was trying to push him away but then fell on his knees.
Gellert helped him up again.
*Don't act like that, you have nothing to prove here, come on.* Said Gellert as they walked out of the room with Gellert winking at Seth before the door closed.
What was that wink for?
Corban turned towards Seth and stepped back, looking down.
*I'll never have you, will I?* Asked Corban.
Seth was suddenly confused.
*What? Have me?*Said Seth.
Corban's heart accelerated and his ears went red.
*I should have said something in school. But the year I thought I would tell you how I really felt, you did not come back.* Said quietly Corban.
Now Seth understood and always knew about Corban's feelings towards him. He never thought he should let him live those impossible feelings partly because of Voldemort.
*Corban…*Said Seth quietly.
Corban waved his hand in the air.
*What.. is it because I never said those three words to you? Did he… did he even say them to you or are you a possession to get?*Said Corban, his voice breaking.
Seth frowned.
*I'm not a toy and love is not… on my mind.* Answered Seth.
Love was far from his mind. He just adored making everyone get hooked at his deadly embrace. Making them beg to take their blood. He might slightly admit he had a thing for Yaxley.
*Not… on your mind. So, I'm just a friend? A… follower? A death eater bound to obey him, when all I wanted… was you!* Said Corban as salty water filled his eyes.
As cruel Corban could be with the unforgivables, he sure could be emotional, Seth thought. Corban went to Seth and pushed him which made Seth take a few step backwards.
*Why…are y..* Began Seth.
*You said to me one day, to never be afraid of you ever again. Well, I never have been after that! Everyday I long for your touch… that you will take my blood again. How many times I passed in front of your room and heard… you both.* Said Corban.
And he said it, Corban longed for him to take his blood. Everything is in blood. Seth had heard enough, he went to Corban and embraced him tightly before joining his lips to his. A warm feeling engulfed his body. It was so different than with Voldemort. Corban moved his hands behind Seth's head and back and pulled him closer. Seth kissed his jawline, then went down to his neck and smelled his skin. Pine… and leaves. They had the same smell.
*Please… take me.* Begged Corban, his heart pounding in his chest, vibrating underneath his skin.
There, the begging.
The Slytherin's locket pulsed on Seth's chest.
*Feed….* Voldemort's voice echoed in his head.
His fangs pierced Corban's neck drawing a sigh out of his lips. His blood tasted different than before. It was intoxicating and pure. It reminded him of his father talking about love between vampires. If he ever found someone who truly loved him, he would know by the taste of his or her blood and how he would never taste anything better.
There is nothing more powerful than love and he could taste it, he could feel it.
Normally he would have been able to stop himself but it's only when Corban went limp in his arms did he realize what was going on. He stopped and placed him on his shoulder and ran to his bedroom using his vampire speed. He placed Corban on his bed and went to his personal potion cupboard and took a blood replenishing potion. He placed himself on the bed with Corban's head on his lap and slowly poured the potion in his mouth. Corban choked on the potion but managed to gulp it down. Seth's heartbeat slowed down relieved he did not kill him. That's not what he would have wanted. Why did he hear Voldemort's voice in his head and make him not control himself? He placed the empty cup beside the bed, then rubbed his temples. He moved beside Corban, laying down and looked at his regular breathing. He fell asleep shortly after.
He woke up after his usual three hours of sleep. Corban had not moved, his heartbeat was regular and steady. He stood up and left his room and saw Nagini slithering away to Voldemort's opened bedroom door. He heard Nagini tell her master he was awake. Had she been waiting outside of his room? Did she see anything?
*Seth.* Said Voldemort as he stepped in the corridor.
*What?* Said Seth and Voldemort walked to him.
*Tell me… do you have a history book of vampire origins? I thought I had seen it when I first came here.* Asked Voldemort.
Seth raised his eyebrows.
*Sudden interest in vampires? We do have a book, it has been modified greatly… before Flamel left, something happened to the book our historian was writing. It completely burned and another began writing by itself. At first, we thought a lot of new things would be written… but it only seemed to rewrite itself in more details. The scrolls where it had mentioned a god named Morgulben is now officially written in it and also how dementors came to be…* Said Seth as they walked to the library.
Seth went to a stone wall and pressed his hand on it.
*Tul nan in, gobennas.* Said Seth in Venthyr.
The stones faded and a great blue light was illuminating a very thick book. He placed his hand on the book and the light disappeared. He then took the heavy book and went to place it to a book display dresser so that Voldemort could look at it. Voldemort did not hide how impressed he had been about what had just happened.
*What was that language you just used?* Asked Voldemort as he began to browse the book with a thirst of knowledge.
Seth crossed his arms.
*That was Venthyr, it seems to be an innate language when you are a vampire.* Said Seth who went to read over his shoulder and frowned.
Voldemort wanted to know something specific. Nagini slithered by their feet.
*You think she would be mentioned in their book?* Hissed Nagini.
Seth eyed Nagini.
*Who?* Asked Seth.
Voldemort was reading a part of the 11th century where Salazar Slytherin was often seen with Emerick Vulken. He then turned several pages after where it mentioned the mysterious death of Emerick.
*No wounds, no marks, no fighting, dead in his sleep… killing curse?* Mumbled Voldemort.
*If you are looking for Emerick's murderer, you won't find it there. It wasn't Salazar… they had been the best… friends, perhaps, you could have ever seen. At least, from what Vlad was telling in the history… It had no reason to have happened… anyway, who is she you wanted to know about? Why is Nagini making you interested in this?* Asked Seth.
Voldemort took the book and placed it carefully in the stone emplacement it had been and the blue light reappeared. He stepped back and the stones materialized again, hiding the book in the wall.
*I was looking for a name… someone I met in Egypt who had Nagini, but it is of no importance. It seems even my ancestors had been here. You did not tell me.* Said Voldemort as Nagini silently left the library.
*Why would it have mattered? It never changed anything to know or not. This book doesn't have anything about magic. It tells my life… which you know except for… the vampire war, perhaps.* Said Seth quietly as memories of filled blood-enraged vampires fields went through his mind.
The Slytherin's locket pulsed on his chest. He felt lips meeting with his. Voldemort had placed his arms around him and pulled him closer to his body.
*Take my blood. *Hissed Voldemort in parseltongue as his red eyes gleamed with domination.
You can't tell this twice to any vampire. Seth smelled his neck and passed his tongue on it, his heart beating strongly in his chest.
*Take my blood* Voldemort's voice echoed in his mind as he plunged his teeth in the flesh exposed and gulped the flowing blood rushing in his body like a waterfall.
His heartbeat accelerated and he felt a warmth going to his head feeling the dark lord's power. He let go of Voldemort with difficulty and passed his tongue again on the wounds to heal the wounds. Voldemort kissed Seth again and bit his lip and stole a few blood drops from the prince. The dark lord's red eyes dilated, and an uncontrollable lust and desire took hold of him.
He tore away Seth's upper clothing and made him sit on a nearby sofa. He assaulted him without restraint, whispering a spell and a pleasuring jolt passed through Seth's body.
*There… there's a spell for that?* Breathed Seth with difficulty.
Voldemort sat on Seth and bent to his ear.
*I invented it, just for you.* he whispered in parseltongue.
He rubbed his groin on him and whispered the spell again. Seth groaned and held the armrests so tight he ripped the leather with his nails. The dark lord brought Seth's pants down and Seth's head went backwards in ecstasy. He thought he had done that spell again for another pleasuring electric feeling passed through his body, making him climax and letting out a loud audible moan. He had been sweating and his breathing was fast, the locket following his chest movements. Voldemort had a satisfied grin as he had perfectly controlled the vampire prince the only way he could.
*Come fight me again.* He hissed, eyes gleaming with malice.
Seth took a deep breath, then smiled. He stood up to put back his clothes on and they took the mirror room's direction.
