The purpose part 22 Second time defied

Chapter 63

Seth had sent an owl to Lucius Malfoy and had asked him to come whenever possible. They had never spoken to each other; Seth only saw him briefly when he was marked. A glass of wine in hand, he was looking outside by the window. A knock was heard on the office's door. He turned to the desk and took the bottle of wine in his hand.

*Enter.* Said Seth as he poured another glass of wine for Lucius.

Lucius entered the office and closed the door behind him. Seth gazed at the man with hungry eyes. Seventeen years old, long blond hair, grey eyes, a heavy cloak, and rich wizard robes with golden buttons. He held a cane with a serpent's head obviously made of gold and containing his wand. How haughty and proud he must be, exhibiting the most pure-blood traits someone could be. Seth presented the glass of wine in front of him.

*Wine?* Asked Seth.

*Thank you.*Said Lucius as he grabbed the glass of wine from Seth's hand, lightly touching a finger when he did.

*You look so much like your father, too bad he passed away so soon. He helped the vampires back then, destroying a device meant to control us fourteen years ago.*Said Seth before taking a sip of wine.

Lucius also drank from his glass before speaking.

*Yes, I do not remember much from that day, but my mother couldn't stop talking about it for a long time.*Said Lucius.

Liar. Seth had a small smile and went to the table where he had placed the forms from the creature shop from diagon alley. He took the paper and handled it to Lucius who took it in his free hand.

*I have a bureaucratic problem. I want house-elves in my castle and perhaps one for… Grindelwald. The owner at the magical menagerie didn't know how it worked for non-magical beings, meaning vampires. No one knows I'm a wizard. Can you do something for me?*Asked Seth, emphasizing on the no one part.

Lucius understood the implication and read the paper quickly, then frowned and took wine again.

*Simple enough. I can fill it out, but it would still need your signature at the end of the document to magically seal the house-elf to your family. It needs a transaction from Gringotts and it will also show who owns power over the house-elf and in your case, it might be just you… and magical descendants or relatives.*Said Lucius.

Seth took a pen and a paper and wrote a note. Lucius looked curiously at the pen Seth was holding. The vampire prince folded the paper and also gave it to Lucius and chuckled upon seeing his expression.

*Muggle items, you might be surprised at how easier things could be sometimes. That pen does not need to be dipped into ink. Anyway, this is an authorisation for transactions for four male house-elves. Speak with Lurvek at Gringotts. Three for the Vulken's family and one for the Grindelwald's family.*Said Seth.

Lucius read Seth's note and looked at Seth.

*You do know the house-elves are 30 000 galleons? Each.*Said Lucius.

Seth finished his glass of wine and shrugged.

*Lucius, I could buy a hundred house-elves and it would not change a thing to our fortune. Vampires built Gringotts with the goblins, among other things. We have a whole island to ourselves. You should take a walk out of this castle, sometimes.*Said Seth.

Lucius was speechless, now realizing he might just be staring at the richest man of the wizarding world, not even known by anyone yet. He emptied his glass of wine promptly.

*You… you were invited to my wedding. The minister of magic is going to be there. Did you plan to make yourself known then?*Asked Lucius.

Seth had walked in front of Lucius and grabbed the empty glass from his hand.

*Precisely.*Answered the Prince.

Lucius suddenly felt uneasy at Seth's proximity. He felt a warmth in his belly as he readjusted his jacket and cleared his throat.

*I'll… I'll come back tomorrow.*Said Lucius.

*I'll be waiting.*Said Seth before licking his lips.

The blonde swallowed and lightly bowed his head before turning around and leaving the office. Seth smirked to himself at the deatheater's reaction. He lost his smile as he now wondered what Voldemort was doing. Since their fight a few days ago, his followers were not even present anywhere in his castle. Not even Corban.

OoOoO

The next day, Lucius came back with the magical contract and only missing Seth's signature. He would be the owner of Kodrey, Colpy and Padry.

*You are the Vulken master, even if any vampires bear the Vulken family name, only those with magical blood can be obeyed by their house-elves… which brings me another question. The name Ruma Thomas Vulken has also appeared as the mistress of the Vulken house-elves, albeit secondary. Do you know who that is?*Asked Lucius.

Seth had a small laugh and shook his head.

*Interesting. Yes, I know who that is.*Said Seth.

Lucius frowned and cleared his throat.

*House-elves will be forever bound to your family unless there is no more heirs or family members alive. It includes cousins, aunts, nieces, anyone related should your direct line or if Ruma's dies. Then, to free an elf… the most awful thing you can do to them, in their eyes, is to give them a piece of clothing, any piece of clothing… So, I suggest you never do that and should warn Mrs. Thomas.*Said Lucius as he placed the completed form on the desk for Seth to sign.

Seth took the same muggle pen as the day before and signed his name elegantly. Three house-elves appeared beside him and bowed their heads. Their faces seemed young, and they all had different traits to distinguish them, like the length of their ears and noses. They wore a black shirt resembling a pillowcase with the Vulken's coat of arms on their chest: a howling wolf with a leaf crown under it.

*Thank you, Lucius. Here's a portkey to Egypt, to the King and Queen's manor where you will find Gellert.*Said Seth as he gave Lucius the pen he wrote with.

Lucius pursed his lips as he took the pen, just like the very idea of holding something muggle was disgusting.

*Hmph, you can lose your charm so easily. To activate it just say Gellert and press on the button on top.*Said Seth.

The prince was sure Lucius would have blushed if he apparently could, but a slight flare of his nostrils gave away his embarrassment.

*Gellert.*Said Lucius as he clicked on the pen's button and he apparated away.

Seth was half-sitting on the desk with crossed arms and he looked at his house-elves who apparently were waiting for instructions.

*Do you need a visit of the island?*Asked Seth.

The middle elf shook his head.

*No, master. Our magic makes us see everything and everyone here.*Said Kodrey with a light voice.

Seth raised his eyebrows in surprise and crouched at their level as he uncrossed his arms. The house-elves let out a soft whimper, unsure. He wanted to look at them more closely.

*What powerful creatures you are. So, you know there is a bedroom you can choose and settle in then. Can you go in the muggle ward despite the barrier?*Asked Seth.

*Yes, we can.*Said Padry.

*House-elves are renowned to never been seen. There can be wizards that come and go in this castle, ill intentioned. Try not to cross their paths. Muggles should learn of your existence, eventually, you can present yourself to Mikael and Matthew, they are the seniors of the muggle servants here. How far can you travel from the island?*Said Seth as he stood up again.

The house-elves seemed confused.

*Sir, if you mean to say how far we can go to get things, there is no limit for us.*Said Kodrey.

How could such power creatures be born servants? He sure would not be stupid enough to treat them like vermin.

*You are allowed to feed yourself when you are hungry, you are allowed to sleep in a comfortable bed when you are tired, you are allowed to clean yourself when dirty. You are not allowed to be ordered around other than me, but you can help and listen to muggles here. If you see the King and Queen, you should obey them too, unless you don't feel it's right. You can go, I'll call if I need anything.*Said Seth and the house-elves bowed again and left in a pop.

OoOoO

Seth's portkey made Lucius apparate in front of a manor. He placed the pen in his inner pocket and looked around before knocking on the door. After a short moment, an obvious vampire with red hair answered him. He had a smile so big it made Lucius squirm inside.

*Hello! Mr.… oh, Malfoy? Come on in!*Asked Anton with a small frown.

How exactly did he even know his name? Thought Lucius.

*Thank you… I would like to speak with Mr. Grindelwald.* Said Lucius as he entered the manor.

The only time he had seen the wizard was when he was marked and Seth had shouted after him soon after. He could not believe this was the man that almost destroyed Paris and wanted to conquer muggles too. History of magic could be boring, but he remembered everything.

*Sure thing, second room on your left, upstairs. You are such a beauty, I'd gladly shag you anytime, you perfect man.* Said Anton with a lust in his eyes.

Lucius kept a blank face, but screamed internally before pushing Anton away and making his way up the stairs. Anton made a kissing sound as Lucius disappeared behind the wall from the corridor. Before he reached the second door, he was stopped by another vampire that came out of a room. He had a crown upon his head and Lucius swallowed, intimidated by the King.

*Why are you here?*Asked the King with a menacing voice.

*I'm… uh, Seth has a gift for Mr. Grindelwald, a house-elf servant.*Stuttered Malfoy.

He was not supposed to stutter, Malfoys never stuttered. He readjusted his posture with subtlety. The King narrowed his eyes but stepped away, letting him pass and gesturing with his hand. Lucius bowed his head in thanks and went to knock on the door as the King made his way to the stairs.

*ANTON! DON'T LET WIZARDS ENTER THIS HOUSE WITHOUT TELLING ME!*Yelled the King.

His voice had startled the deatheater and the office door, where Gellert was, opened. Gellert sighed and let Lucius in, closing the door behind him. Gellert went to sit in his office chair and invited Lucius to sit in front of him, across the desk.

*So, why do I have the pleasure to see the pompous ministry lackey? Do I have to surrender yet?* Asked Gellert.

Lucius had not sat. He definitely did not like the man already.

*No. Seth bought a house-elf and I need your signature.* Said Lucius as he took the form from his inner pocket and placed it in front of Gellert roughly.

Gellert eyed the blonde weirdly before looking at the paper and reading it.

*I imagine I do not have to explain this to you. Although, as you can read, there is another living Grindelwald named Dalex. Now, if you can sign this so I can leave.* Said Lucius, curious if the contract would work when Gellert was not supposed to have magic anymore.

Gellert frowned and placed a hand on his mouth, thinking. He took a muggle pen, just like Seth had and signed the form. A house-elf apparated in a soft pop in front of him. Gellert wrote something on a paper, then gave back the form to Lucius, who was now also frowning.

*You can do magic?* Asked Lucius.

A weird emotion passed on Gellert's face and a muscle spasm twitched on his forehead. Gellert pursed his lips.

*You can leave now.* Said Gellert with a blank face.

Lucius disapparated in a pop. Gellert looked at the house-elf supposedly named Jobry. He was a young male draped with the deathly hallows's sign. He smirked at the sight of the sign, which meant his father had passed away. He was the Lord Grindelwald of the family but he stared at the name he wrote on the paper. Dalex Grindelwald. So, he had a brother.

*Elf, where is Dalex Grindelwald?* Asked Gellert.

The elf made a whimper before answering.

*I'm sorry sir, he is behind a powerful ward. I'm not even sure I would be able to go to him if he called me.*Said Jobry.

Gellert stood up and threw the pen across the room in anger. He had a fucking brother, apparently powerful enough to hide, even from an elf. He could not even speak privately to Seth or cast spells. He let out a yell of defeat and went to the window.

*Go bother the King to present yourself and perhaps explain what you can do, since I don't know he ever had a house-elf. Also, you live here now, so you obey him and the queen, unless it concerns me, am I clear?*Said Gellert.

*Yes, sir.*Said Jobry quietly before disappearing.

Chapter 64

Why did he have to be with that git Dolohov? Sadistic motherfucker, that he is. He sighed internally as he watched the McGonagall's house. He grumbled to himself as he moved his wand around, testing for any wards, and there were plenty. Dumbledore must have already started to warn the people he knew. Antonin also swore under his breath after waving his wand.

*So, what's wrong?* Asked Darthael to Alecto.

That vampire always stuck to Alecto now, hidden under a half-mask and cloak as if he was a deatheater. He wondered what Seth would have thought of that, even if he knew already. It already had been a week since the dark lord had given missions to him and preventing him to see him again. The way the dark lord looked at him with a cold stare, knowing his skills, thus giving him things he just knew he would succeed. He thought about Seth's mouth, how he missed that mouth that kissed him everywhere. He missed his smell, his taste, the warmth of his skin.

*YAXLEY! I need your help with that, come on.* Said Dolohov.

Corban snapped out of his thoughts that almost gave him a reaction when it wasn't the time and focused on disabling the wards with Antonin. It had to be done with extreme delicacy, to not trigger warnings of any sorts.

*You were thinking about the Prince, didn't you?* Whispered Darthael behind him.

*Now's not the time to bother us, this is tricky and needs our concentration. You can help with your super hearing and night vision and tell us if something changes in their home.*Said Yaxley.

Darthael nodded and stepped away. Corban and Antonin began chanting, their wands up, palm facing the house. They did so for a long time, and they began to sweat.

*Muggle walking towards us.*Said Darthael.

Not too far away, was really a muggle walking down the street towards them. Don't use the killing curse, don't use the killing curse, come on Alecto, don't be stupid, have Darthael kill him or her. Thought Corban as he chanted. They couldn't stop for their efforts would be in vain.

*Avada Kedavra!* Said Alecto and the muggle received the curse directly and fell on the ground.

*Movements in the house.* Said Darthael.

Corban and Antonin stopped chanting, it was useless now. Corban looked at Dolohov who was fuming and ready to curse Carrow.

*Alecto… ugh, never mind.*Said Corban as he passed a hand on his face.

*What? That was my fault?* Said Alecto raising her arms in defeat.

Before Corban said anything, someone from the house had opened the door, looking curiously outside.

*Quick, hide behind the trees, if he goes to see what happened, we might just not report a failure.* Said Antonin.

They hid behind trees and Corban casts disillusion charms on everyone.

*Darthael, tell us if you hear anyone say anything.* Said Corban.

*There is another person near that wizard saying to not go out, since a deadly curse triggered a warning charm. Robert, I think he was called. He says people might need help, to which he is answered it could be a trap. Uh… he said Homenum Revelio, whatever that is.* Whispered Darthael.

*Tells if there's people around, but we are too far from his spell.* Said Corban.

*So, why don't we all just barge in like you guys did with Seth years ago at that auror's house?* Asked Darthael.

*Because the dark lord only wanted to teach Minerva a lesson and trigger Dumbledore.*Said Antonin.

Corban looked at the wizard presumably named Robert who was now running to the dead muggle, looking around, his wand ready. He was running to his death. How young and stupid must he really have been. He looked at Antonin, about to say something but Darthael had already ran to the wizard, removing the disillusion charm and held him firmly from behind. Alecto made a small cackle as she danced to her lover. He would not want to do missions with those two again.

*Crucio.* Said Alecto.

The curse hit Robert directly and he squirmed in Darthael's arms, trying to scream but he had the vampire's hand on his mouth holding him firmly. When Alecto stopped the curse, Darthael sank his teeth in his neck. Two other wizards were coming behind them, yelling his name. Curses started to fly, both from them and from the deatheaters.

*ROBERT!*Yelled a woman before casting a curse at Darthael.

Alecto made a shield behind him and cast the cruciatus again towards her this time and she diverted the curse to the sky. Corban cast a slashing curse at the man, followed by the killing curse from Antonin. The man had cast a shield from the slashing curse, but the green curse hit him directly and he fell on the ground, dead. Darthael had taken his sweet time and healed the wound so vampires would not be blamed before letting Robert fall on the ground, lifeless. The deatheaters pointed their wands at the woman who showed tears falling from her face, admitting defeat, and lowering her wand.

*Avada Kedavra!* Said Antonin again with a sadistic face, killing the woman.

*Where's your pleasure in that?*Asked Darthael.

*Dark magic… you feel it in your soul, it makes you feel amazing.*Said Dolohov before casting the dark mark in the sky.

Darthael went to Alecto, removing her mask and kissed her intensely, then went to her neck to sink his teeth in it. She moaned with delight and Corban thought about Seth again. Antonin made a disgusted sound and apparated away.

*You shouldn't linger, aurors will surely come because of the mark.*Said Yaxley before apparating away.

Darthael passed his hand in between her legs.

*Oh, let's continue this elsewhere.*Said Alecto before apparating with Darthael.

Chapter 65

He had to do something. He was losing him, preventing Yaxley to see him was not the solution. He needed the help of vampires to conquer Britain faster. He made Seth wear his locket for Merlin's sake. He half-listened to Dolohov about the murders of the McGonagalls. Pathetic. What a useless mission. Dolohov even implied the incompetence of Alecto. He sighed and dismissed Antonin with a wave of his hand.

They had taken residence in a castle near FIlière. It was nothing like Seth's castle. It stank, it was dirty, and it was not being taken care of. He had placed all the wards he could think of and really wanted his nice bed again. The giants were restless and wanted to proceed further but they had been stopped by French vampires. They had told him to ask the King's permission to proceed, since they had a lot of cities under their own control. Darthael told him he could not do anything, especially against a certain Lenore and François, the French vampire leader.

He thought about bringing the giants directly in Britain through modified portkeys, which could perhaps take months before being able to do so. Making portkeys was the better option, since the prospect of talking to the King repulsed him. God, he hated politics and that was why he had followers. He eyed Yaxley who laid against the wall with arms crossed. Lucius arrived in the room and bowed in front of the dark lord.

*My lord.* Said the blond.

*What is it Lucius?*Asked Voldemort, focusing on his already loyal deatheater.

*Seth has acquired three house-elves for his castle. Another witch with the name Ruma Vulken apparently has authority of the house-elves and Seth said he knew her. He has also acquired one for Gellert Grindelwald in Egypt. He signed the completed form, and a house-elf did appear for him. I am still not sure if he possesses magic or not, but only those with magic can possess house-elves. Another name also appeared for Gellert's house-elf; he apparently has a brother named Dalex Grindelwald. He did not seem to know him.*Said Lucius.

How dare does that blonde git say everything to him? Thought Yaxley. Voldemort looked at Corban again, then back at Lucius. If I get tortured, I'll curse him into oblivion.

*Anything else?*Asked the Dark Lord.

*He said he wants to be in the Wizengamot and plans to grow his influence in politics, starting with my wedding and making himself public.*Added Lucius.

*How do you know that?*Asked Voldemort.

*He owled me, thinking I knew how to buy house-elves, since the menagerie owner did not know if vampires could buy them. I briefly mentioned my wedding, for he had been invited by my mother. She never forgot that time my father helped you for that device.*Said Lucius.

*You can go.*Said Voldemort and Lucius bowed again before leaving.

The dark lord stood up and pointed his wand at Yaxley. He knew he would do that, he would not beg, he would not tell, he'd rather die than say anything. He removed his mask and cloak from his head, so they could stare at each other.

*Yaxley, tell me what happened. Why is Gellert able to have a house-elf?*Asked Voldemort.

Corban's breathing went faster, his heartbeat was beating so fast, he thought it would rip from his chest. He knew the curses were coming and he thought about defending himself. He felt Voldemort's mind creeping up in his skull.

*Go ask him. If he wants you to know, he will tell you. If not, that is not for me to tell, my lord.*Said Corban.

*Exactly, I am your lord, you answer to me.*Said Voldemort quietly but you could hear the venom in his words.

*Well I wish you weren't anymore.*Said Yaxley.

*Crucio.*Hissed Voldemort.

Pain. Nothing else.

He couldn't think, the world around him did not exist anymore. He heard something crack, maybe it was a bone, maybe it was his head against the wall, or the floor. He tasted blood in his mouth. He only wished one thing: his life to end. If he could beg for it, he would have, but he was unable to speak. When the curse stopped, he felt the cold stone floor on his face. He could smell the blood and the sweat coming off his body.

*Legilimens.*Said Voldemort.

Weakened by the cruciatus, his mind was an opened book and Voldemort saw everything. Starting from the useless mission, then seeing a panicked Danyck and apparating together to a manor where he saw Gellert with a wand in his hand. Yaxley punching Gellert then running to an office, seeing Seth unconscious on the floor, with his neck bleeding. Yaxley murmuring a healing spell and transporting him to a bed where the King promptly ordered him to go wait in the lobby as the queen was bringing Gellert in the room with them. The memory changed to see Seth going down the stairs, saying he had given his magic back to Gellert. Voldemort went further and saw Seth in the shower.

*I want this to last forever, I can't pass a day… no, a minute without smelling you, feeling you beside me. I love you so much.* Said Corban.

*Corban… I… *Began Seth but Corban placed a finger on his mouth.

*Don't force them. Don't do that to yourself. Now… take me, my love. Let me remember this forever. Lah'wi.* Said Yaxley, the last word in Venthyr.

Voldemort stopped the charm. The death curse was on his tongue as he still pointed his wand at Yaxley. If he did that, he would lose Seth forever, because that vampire loved Yaxley. Seth defied him AGAIN BECAUSE OF LOVE! Voldemort screamed and the castle shook, shattering the windows in the room.
