Hey guys! This is a one-shot about Jandreck (Jade/Andre/Beck). Also, Beck moved to California right before Kindergarten, even though, in the show, he did Kinder in Canada. There might be a second part to this, but don't expect it. Also, flashbacks are italicized. All in Andre's or nobody's POV (nobody's only in the beginning). :)

First day of Kindergarten:
Nobody's POV:
The first day of school has always been the scariest for children. Whether it means having to leave your parents, having to explore a new place, or having to make new friends, there is always something that is almost terrifying to young faces
Precisely, that is what these three five-year-olds were thinking. A boy whose hair was fluffy, for some weird reason, was scared to explore a new place, after all he'd just moved from Canada. A boy who was surprisingly musically gifted (he was already learning to play two instruments) didn't want to leave his parents, especially since he was really close to them. And, finally, we have a girl who was seen as terrifying, however, little did they know, she was afraid of not finding any friends. These three children always had deep thoughts, so it seems.
On that fateful day, though, the three were made to sit by each other, and that was the start of a friendship that would stand the test of time.
"Welcome, class! Just find your name on the name tag and sit down," said the teacher, Mrs. Adams.
"Hey! I don't wanna sit here!"
"Sweetie, what's your name?"
"Jade."
"Okay, Jade, why don't you want to sit there?"
"Because there are pink scissors, I want the black ones!"
"Okay, sweetie, you can give me the pink ones, and I'll give you black ones. Is that okay?"
"I guess so."
"Okay, then. You can sit down."
Jade sits down in her seat, still upset about her scissors. A boy comes and sits down next to her.
"Hi, I'm Beck."
"I'm Jade."
Since she's still angry, they don't talk until the third kid comes.
"Hi, I'm Andre."
"I'm Beck."
"Hi Beck. What's your name?" he asks, turning to Jade.
"Jade."
"Cool."
"Let's get started with setting up our folders! You can pick one of the ones in the middle of your table."
Andre and Beck grab a blue folder, and Jade gets a white one. She also grabs a fat, black marker and starts to color the folder. Soon, the whole folder is covered in black scribbles, yet she's satisfied.
"Um, sweetie, what did you do to the folder.?"
"I colored it. Isn't it nice?"
"Yes, very," the teacher said. However, she was actually wondering why she had this girl in her class. Clearly, she would be a "difficult" student.
After a couple of hours, it was time for recess. The three children go out to play, but none of them have anyone to play with, so they end up with each other. Soon, they became friends, and little did they know, this friendship would go a long way…
Andre's POV:
Jade, Andre, Beck. Jade, Beck, Andre. Beck, Andre, Jade. Beck, Jade, Andre. Andre, Jade, Beck. Andre, Beck, Jade.
No matter how you put it, it's always been the three of us. My two best friends and I. We've been friends since we were five, and since then, our connection has grown stronger. Every single thing after that has been celebrated with each other. We always thought we'd be friends forever. Then we turned 14. That changed everything. It started with Cat and Jade becoming closer, and, soon, Robbie joining, who was Cat's best friend. We started separating a bit more, because Jade wanted to spend some time with Cat. So, Robbie and Cat basically became a part of our , the change that made the most difference.
Beck and Jade started dating. That shook our relations much more than anything else…
When we were 10, we were playing truth or dare at recess.
"Okay, Jade, truth or dare?"
"Truth."
"If you had to date someone in 4 years, would it be me or Beck?"
"None."
"None?"
"Yup."
"Why?"
"Because you guys are weird."
"Okay, then"
Somehow, whenever I see them together, my mind goes back to that day. Oh, how they could have never imagined themselves dating each other… especially, since Jade always made fun of him. Never of me. In fact, at one point, when we were 13, and I knew Beck liked Jade, he actually thought she liked me. And, in retrospect, it would make sense. But, I realize now that she made fun of him because she liked him.
Anyways, on Jade's 14th birthday, we were in Beck's RV (yup, he already had the RV), because she wanted to spend it there. We were just having fun and eating cake. So, Jade's birthday is on December 12, Beck's, September 4, and mine is October 19. We had already turned 14. Anyways, we were going to give her the gifts now.
"So, you have any gifts for me?" Jade asks with a mouthful of cake.
"Yup." Beck and I reply.
"Great. So gimme."
We laugh.
"Sure," he says.
Jade sets down her cake and opens them.
I got her 'special scissors' she's wanted, I swear I will never understand her.
"Dre! You did not."
"I did."
"No way!" She jumps up and hugs me.
"So, you like them?"
She glares at me and rolls her eyes, while Beck and I laugh.
"Yes."
"Good."
"So, Beck, do you have anything for me?"
"Yes, in fact, I do."
"So, are you gonna…"
"Yup. Here you go."
"Great."
"Oh. My. God. Beck Oliver."
He smiles, "Yes?"
"Did you really?"
"Yes, yes I did."
She hugs him too, longer, and part of me is surprised at the sudden jealousy I feel. I shake it off and ask her what the present is.
"He got me the necklace I wanted. You know, the one with the fake black jade…"
"Oh, wow."
"Yeah."
Beck laughs and hugs Jade. Then, Jade asks Beck something.
"Hey, Beck, do you, maybe, wanna, you know, be my boyfriend?"
She looks at him expectantly.
"Yes."
She smiles, and, I guess, I just witnessed Hollywood's power couple being created.
Since then, I felt like a third wheel. Half the time, they were busy going on dates or something, and when we were together, they practically ignored me. I know they didn't mean to, but it happened. So, slowly we started growing apart. After all, everyone only knew Beck and Jade at this point. Then, there was Andre, Tori, Robbie, and Cat. Since when have I been disassociated with my best friends? If you could even call them that anymore…
However, there were still times that I hung out with them, mostly, though, with the others. Beck and I were still close to an extent. He would still call me his best friend, yet, Jade had moved on completely, it seemed. She would always choose Cat. I know she still enjoyed my company, but just a friend. Cat was her best friend, and they were always together, when Jade wasn't with Beck. It was like she had no more time for me, her "best friend."
However, when Beck and Jade broke up, it really divided us. The first time, it wasn't such a big deal, because they got back together the same day, but the second time, oh, was that bad. After the break-up, Jade refused to talk to Beck, and Beck did likewise. However, she also refused to talk to me. Obviously, she had Cat, but she also had Tori. Even though she would never admit the two were friends, quite clearly, they were very close. That shook me. Even though we weren't close these past three years, I still enjoyed talking to her. And, besides, aren't we best friends, in a way…? Yet, she didn't want to talk to me. I wondered why, and I was missing her. However, I also missed the three of us. How fun it was when it was just the three of us, as friends. But, they dated, and made it awkward. Anyways, I needed to know why she was ignoring Beck and I. I always assumed if they broke up, they would go back to friends, but no.
So, one day, I wanted to know, and I asked her.
(BTW, this is five months after their breakup)
"Jade."
"No."
"Jade."
"No!"
"Jade!"
"What!"
"Why?"
"Why what?"
"Why do you ignore me?"
"Why wouldn't I?"
"I thought I was your friend! Your best friend…? Beck and I…"
"Oh, well. Things change. We make new friends, right?"
I acted like I didn't see her wipe the tears off before they could fall.
"So you don't think we're close anymore. The three of us?"
"Of course not! Beck doesn't give a fuck about me, and he doesn't care that I cried myself to sleep for four months after the breakup. He doesn't care that I need him. And you. You don't give a fuck about me either. If you even gave two shits then maybe we would still be friends," the tears are flowing freely down her face, "But, instead, you choose to side with Beck on everything cause you probably think I'm a fucking bitch too, right? Cat and Tori actually tried to be fair to us both. You know, they helped me get over him. But, you both just threw away over a decade of friendship because you wanted to diss me, huh? Well, then, I don't need you, if you're gonna act like that to me."
At this point, her make-up is dripping down her face, as well.
"Jade… I never chose Beck over you."
"Really? Did you follow me out the door when we broke up? No! You played cards at Vega's house! But did you know that Cat followed me home and Vega texted me all night to make sure I was okay? You didn't even text!"
"Oh my god. Jade, I never realized… please forgive me."
"At this point, never."
She runs away and my heart breaks as I hear the sobs she was trying to hide.
Clearly, she hates me now, but I tried. I tried for weeks until she gave up.
"Jade. I'm sorry! Please."
"Do you really mean that?"
"Every single time I said it."
"Okay, then."
"You forgive me…?"
"Yes."
I can't help the grin that breaks across my face.
I pull her into a hug, and I'm glad to have my other best friend back in life.
I take her to Nozu's and this whole hambone thing happens. We don't ever speak of that again, though.
Since then, we became close again, but I could tell she was still scared to bring her walls down completely, again. Soon, though, she does. Once, we were hanging out at my house, and she broke down. We were talking about random stuff, and somehow that went to Beck. Now, I'm still friends with Beck, best friends, but she…isn't. Anyways, she starts to cry, and I just hug her. I realize, though, that she misses Beck more than ever, so I told her to write a song. So she did.
During that time, I also talked to Beck very often, who wasn't happy about me hanging out with Jade.
"Hey, Dre, wanna go to the movies after school today?"
"Sorry, can't, Jade's dragging me to the scissor museum.," I chuckle to myself.
"Dude! Why are you hanging out with my ex-girlfriend?"
"Because she's my best friend."
"What about me?"
"You're also my best friend. Duh," I roll my eyes.
"But you know how I feel about her!"
"Beck, man, chill. She's my friend, it's not like I'm trying to date her or anything. And besides you both are my friends. And, honestly, I miss how it used to be."
With that, I walk away.
So, clearly, during that time, things were rough between the three of us. However, the Full Moon Jam came around, and she performed, and they made out a bit, got kicked off the stage, and I'm pretty sure they had sex in the closet backstage, but that's another story. I was incredibly happy, but I was hoping that things would go back to the way they were, when it was just the three of us as friends. I knew it would be difficult, though, but I believe we were getting there.
Fast forward one year, and we're graduating. Beck called me and asked if I wanted to come over before graduation, so I drove there. I thought all of us were going to be there, but to my surprise it was only Jade. For some reason, I relaxed. Probably because it has been so long since it has been the three of us. That day was one engraved in my mind forever.
I walk into Beck's RV, and Jade runs and throws her arms around me. I hug her back, and I notice that there are tears in her eyes. When she pulls away, she goes back to Beck's arms and I wonder what's happening.
"Jade, why are you crying?"
"Andre. I'll miss you."
"Miss me? What do you mean? Why?"
"I got accepted."
"Okay… and? Didn't we all get accepted into UCLA?"
"No, Dre, to the University of Milan."
"Milan? Wait… in Italy?"
"Duh."
"Jade, you're gonna be halfway across the world?"
"Yeah."
I turn to Beck, "What about you?"
"What about me?"
"Where are you going?"
"UCLA like I planned."
"Alright. So, Jade, this summer is really going to be the last…"
"Yeah," she cuts me off.
I notice how tight Beck is holding on to Jade.
"But, if you don't want to go, then you don't have to, right?"
"But, Dre, I wanna go. I just… don't wanna leave you two."
"Jade… I'll miss you, too."
She bites back more tears and she grips tighter onto Beck.
"But, I mean, we still have this summer, right?"
Beck nods and says, "Well, we're getting late, we should go."
During the graduation, the three of us stand close together, not wanting to move on from this phase in our life, but we have to.
That summer went by quickly, and suddenly, it was three weeks before university started, and Jade had to leave. At the airport, Beck and Jade broke up.
"Bye Dre. Bye Beck." She has tears flowing down her face.
I hug her tightly.
"Dre, I don't wanna leave."
"You'll be fine, Jade, you always are," I smile at her.
She hugs Beck, now.
"Beck, baby, I love you."
"I love you more, Jade."
"But, we can't… we can't…"
"I know, baby, I know."
I have no idea what's going on. Are they breaking up, or what?
"What do you guys mean?"
Beck answers first, "It's too hard to remain in a relationship so far across."
"But what about long-distance"
This time Jade answers, "I don't know if we can. We discussed this, and we're breaking up." She swallows her tears, "For good."
They hold on to each other tightly, before they include me too.
"Goodbye, guys. I'm going to miss you."
"Me too, Jade."
"I'll miss you, baby."
"Bye."
"Bye."
And then she leaves.
Skip a couple years, and Beck and I are doing great. We still missed Jade, obviously, and Beck isn't even trying to date someone else. Our daily phone calls had slowed down at this point, and we were only able to talk to her once every one or two weeks. However, one day, when we came back home from university (we share an apartment), we had a surprise waiting for us.
"Beck, come on, Jade texted that she might be able to talk right now."
"Why is she awake? Isn't it late there?"
"Yeah, but she's Jade. But, anyways, we have to hurry. Come on."
"Alright, alright, coming."
I get in his car and we drive to our apartment. We get out and walk up four flights of stairs. We get to our apartment door, and we're greeted with a surprise.
"Took you long enough. I've been waiting for you to come back."
"J-J-Jade?"
"Who else?" She smiles and laughs.
Beck seems speechless.
She opens her arms.
"Didn't you guys miss me?"
Beck hugs her first and he holds on so tight.
"Jade. You're here."
"I know."
"But, why?"
She looks up at him.
"Because I missed you guys."
Beck swallows hard.
"Are you here to stay?"
"Yeah."
He smiles widely. He steps away so I can greet her. I hug her and I ask her why she's back.
"Because, Dre, I needed you two." She takes a deep breath and steps towards Beck.
"Beck, I know we haven't been together for two years but I still love you, and I know you love me too. I can't live without you, and I don't wanna. And you know I've never been traditional, so I'm gonna do this in an untraditional way. I know the guy is supposed to get on one knee and be fancy and make this big speech, but we're different, right? So, I'm just gonna stand here and hand you this ring, and ask, do you wanna marry me?"
"Yes."
She grins and falls into his arms. They kiss each other deeply. We walk inside and they don't separate from each other. My two best friends. After I go to sleep, I hear some noises. I'm just gonna say I'm pretty sure they made up for A LOT of lost sex time.
It's now two years later, and in the present, they're getting married. My best friends. Beck is standing at the altar, and Jade is about to walk down the aisle.. I'm the best man, and Cat's the maid of honor. Quite obvious, though.
The whole deal happens, and it's my speech now.
"Welcome all to the marriage of the two most important people in my life, my best friends, Jade and Beck. We all know that Jade West is an amazing woman who deserves a life of happiness and a husband who will make her life better in every way possible. Thank god for Beck that he came along before Jade could find this man." I hear laughs in the audience. I continue and finish my speech. The whole ceremony continues, and at the afterparty, I realize the reality of our friendship.
No matter what the challenges are, we will always make it back together.
Nobody's POV:
Adulthood is terrifying for new adults. Some are afraid to move to a new place and have to relocate and find housing. Some don't want to leave their family and friends behind. Some simply don't want to meet new people, because they fear what they will think of them.
Precisely, that is what these three 23-year-olds were thinking. A man with fluffy hair, and standing in Hollywood, didn't want to leave Hollywood, and move to a new place, once again, as he was used to it. A man with an amazing musical talent, already signed on to quite a few record labels, didn't want to leave his family behind, as he had to move on with his life and become more independent. And a beautiful woman, already a producer and director of many movies, didn't want to have to meet new actors and actresses and have to work with new people, because she thought they might judge her. However, they now know, that as long as they have each other, they will always be okay.
