"He just gathered some punks to call him pops!" Akainu shouted, angering Ace further, "And at the end, he was stabbed by a fool. Don't you think that his life is so empty?"
Ace's fire burned brighter, encasing his body, turning a dark blue from the sheer heat.
"DON'T DO IT ACE! COME BACK!" Another one of Whitebeard's commanders screamed.
Ace remembered when Marco was explaining why they all called Whitebeard 'pops'.
"Why do you guys call him 'Pops'?" Ace asked from his place on the floor leaning against the railing.
"Because he calls us 'sons'. That's really all there is to it yoi."
Ace was screaming, Whitebeard had just died, and this red dog of the government was calling him a failure, "You can't understand his greatness! He gave us a place to live! Called us his sons! Took us in when no one else would! Gave us a place to live!"
"Punks like you guys don't deserve a place to live! After I kill you and the son of dragon behind you, the era will be that of total Justice!"
"The name of this era, should be WHITE BEARD!" Ace screamed at Akainu. Ace lunged at the man, trying to bring him down.
The two fists connected sending a small shockwave int the surrounding area. Ace's fire and Akainu's magma fought for control, before Akainu's magma won. Ace was launched back, his fist charred, and numb.
"Ace has been burned!" A commander shouted, thinking it was impossible.
"You're just fire, but my magma can burn even fire!"
"Ace..." Luffy walked towards Ace, trying to get him to give it up, to get up, get his revenge later when he wasn't exhausted. Luffy fell to his knees from the exhaustion and the side effects of Ivankov's hormone injections. Ace's vivre card fell from his hat, "Ace's Vivre Card?" Luffy reached for it, but it moved out of reach, towards Ace.
"Watch what I do." Akainu told Ace.
"WAIT!"
Akainu jumped towards Luffy, who didn't even have the energy to dissolve into water.
Ace tried to jump into the path of Akainu's fist, but was stopped... by a flying Luffy.
Luffy tackled Ace, "IVA!"
"Straw-hat boy!"
"Give Ace the adrenaline you gave me!"
"I can't. His body is too weak right now, he would die from the strain after having been in Impel Down for as long as he was."
Akainu jumped towards the two brothers, hoping to get the both of them in one go. Ace had fainted, exhausted - both physically and mentally, he was out of the fight - at least for now.
Luffy jumped back with Ace on his back, but only managed a few feet, his arms getting singed by Akainu's magma. "Hey! Pinapple! Come get Ace!" He called to Marco.
Marco was taken out of his shock, he flew over and picked up Ace. He told Luffy, "Get going. There's no way you can face Akainu alone, especially with your devil fruit."
"But if I don't occupy him, He'll just jump over to where you are."
"Fine, but don't die."
"I won't. Tell Ace when he wakes up that I kept my promise. Don't tell him if I'm dead, let him find out."
Marco wanted to reply, to tell him that his brother's mind might break if he isn't there, but he just nodded; understanding that there was no stopping the Straw-Hat Captain. He flew off with Ace between the talons of his phoenix form.
"Hey, Akainu!" Luffy taunted, "I bet that you don't know what real justice is." The comment had the intended effect, Akainu burst into flames, his magma incinerating the air around him. He gained a tunnel vision for Luffy.
"Out of the four Admirals," Luffy continued, standing up, "you are the only one who cannot be reasoned with. Aokiji is a nice person, will admit when he's wrong, and has a sense of honor, even though he's under the direct command of the World Government. Borsalino is laid back, and could likely be reasoned with, he even denied wanting to help the celestial dragons, even though he could've very well lost his position in the navy because of that. And Sengoku is a friend of Gramps, I know my gramps is a good person, and he's rejected the position of admiral so that he couldn't be directly ordered around by the World Government, allowing his morals to continue to exist as those of a man.
"But You! You are the only one who would hunt down an unborn child because of his dad. You are the only one who doesn't have a moral compass. You are the only one that would rather kill pirates that helped you, rather than swallowing your pride, and saying 'thank you'. You are the only one that uses your position to justify everything you do. You would rather die, than allow anyone with a pirate flag to live, even if that ship is full of slaves and innocent children. You are the only one who would call a buster call on an island under pirates protection, than ask for the town to be put under the marines protection, or getting rid of the pirates.
"And one more thing, if you kill me, tell Garp that you killed his grandson that saved Alabasta, saved Shell Island, saved Orange Town, saved Syrup Village, saved Cocoyashi, saved the Baratie, saved Drum Kingdom - or rather - Sakura Kingdom, and saved the marines the shame of relying on a Pirate to solve all of their problems, by not bragging about his accomplishments."
Every word Luffy said, made Akainu get angrier and angrier. Meanwhile someone from one of the invading pirate crews, was holding a transponder snail, sending the message throughout the world. The air around Akainu was discharging electricity now. The air was so hot that the air was ionizing, sending out small lightning bolts from Akainu's body.
"Hah hah hah hah. HAH HAH HAH HAH! You stupid kid. I'm so angry right now, that all I can do is laugh."
Luffy froze. Garp, Aokiji, and even Sengoku, froze. Akainu laughed. And Akainu doesn't laugh.
"LUFFY! RUN!" Someone called, but Luffy stayed rooted to the ground.
Akainu appeared behind Luffy, and backhanded him across the marine ford battle field. Luffy hit the wall on the opposite side, cratering the two of the large large steel walls, and toppled a third one. The impact killed everyone in the gun houses around the area. The entirety of Marine Ford shook from the impact. Aokiji's ice shattered, breaking into lots of smaller pieces, ranging in size from the Moby Dick to the size of Luffy.
Akainu observed the debris, noticing that there were no marines on the shattered Ice. Good. Now I can go all out, Akainu told himself. He knew (or at least thought he knew) that the other Admirals, and Vice-Admirals, had probably evacuated everyone after he'd laughed.
"Add that to the list of things I did for the marines. I got everyone, including the admirals, out of our fighting area." By this point almost all of Whitebeard's crew had been evacuated. Luffy noticed this, and jumped into the water, traveling over to where the Moby Dick was. He boarded the ship before approaching Marco, "Hey, Marco."
Marco jumped a little, not expecting Luffy to be there.
"That stuff you used to stop Kizaru, what was it? And I saw it used on swords too, so can you put some on me?" Marco wasted no time putting the Haki on Luffy's right hand.
Luffy focused on the feeling. It was similar to oil running over his skin, so he tried to copy it on his left hand. He sort-of succeeded, the haki on his hand was definitely there, but it was spotty, it kept disappearing in certain spots, and reappearing, it looked like water, and felt like nothing he's ever experienced. But it felt more... more... his.
Luffy remembered Shanks' lesson from the first day, about everything water-related.
"In the sea is water, obviously, but there's also salt, living things, and metals."
He jumped off the ship, before covering himself in the faulty haki and extracting as much salt from the ocean as possible. He forced the extreme amount of salt now in his body to form a coating about an inch thick with ice (that he created) holding it together. He dove down to the seafloor, collecting all of the bullets that had ended up there after the cracking of the ice. Next came the hardest part, extracting metal from the ocean floor, it wasn't slow by any means, but exhausting. He formed the metal into a few million rings, then formed that into a hollow metal tube held together by the icy salt, forming what would be one of his most destructive weapons, if not his most destructive weapon yet. He put the pipe on his back before rocketing towards the surface, at the speed of sound in a solid, reaching the surface in about two seconds.
Akainu had barely moved from when Luffy last saw him, he was jumping on the air via geppo towards the Moby Dick. He caught sight of Luffy, "Good, I didn't have to travel very far to find you." Then he noticed Luffy's completely white complexion, "Sick? That's a shame." Akainu smirked believing that he had won the battle before it had started.
Luffy grabbed the pipe off of his back, and charged himself with the static electricity in the air. He funneled it into the pipe. "Mizu-Mizu no Ripple Effect!" He blasted shock waves out of his feet, allowing him to jump on the air, "Godspeed!" Luffy rocketed towards Akainu, catching him around the waist, and launching both of them back towards the bay of Marine Ford.
"He hit Akainu... He actually hit Akainu!" One of the Marines commented.
"I didn't think it was possible, even if he can use Haki, which we know he can't, Akainu would just cover the opponent in magma and win anyways," a marine captain agreed. How? It shouldn't be possible for a rookie from the east blue...
Back on Whitebeard's ship, all of the commanders watched the insanity in awe; everyone at Sabaody Park watched the recording in horror; everyone at Marine Ford was terrified.
[Shanks' Ship]
The ship creaked as the Red Haired Pirates raced towards Marine Ford. "There's another one." The water had been getting increasingly violent over the past few minutes. And nobody knew why. A ship appeared out of the fog/dust/steam/debris cloud that surrounded the Navy HQ. It was Whitebeard's ship, but something was wrong. There was someone missing.
"Where's Whitebeard?" Shanks asked his crew.
"What do you mean?"
"Whitebeard's presence... I can't sense him."
"Look! It's the Red Haired Pirates!" A familiar voice called out.
Marco the Phoenix landed on the ship, "Shanks! Oh, thank god you're here. Luffy is battling Akainu."
Shanks froze. Luffy is battling Akainu? Battling Akainu... Akainu?! He knew that there was no way for Luffy to win against an admiral. "Everyone! Hurry up! We can't allow Luffy to fight Akainu alone!"
A voice called from Whitebeard's ship, "Wait! I'm going to go with you!" Ace jumped from the Moby to the Red Force.
"Ace! I know how you feel for you little brother, but you must promise me, that you will not break your promise to Luffy."
[Back with Luffy]
Luffy rocketed towards the water, disappearing. He formed behind Akainu, just barely raising his arm in time to block the fist thrown at him.
Luffy was thrown across the battlefield. Using the water to slow down, he built up pressure in the soles of his feet, and released it, "Raptor Rocket - 300 bar." The water in his soles became a plasma from the pressure, heating up to 6000 degrees F. He formed a regenerating bell nozzle from his feet, and accelerated to .001c (for reference, that is .1% the speed of light, almost 300 kilometers per second). Luffy seemed to teleport around the battlefield, Akainu almost dodged every hit anyways, but the hits that he didn't dodge, burned him.
The first hit to appear, was a fist on his leg. The second hit to appear, was a foot on his chest. The third hit to appear was on his waist. The fourth hit never happened.
In Akainu's mind, an image of Luffy penetrating his stomach with the pipe appeared. He raised his fist and brought it down on Luffy's head, stopping his assault. Luffy was knocked aside, and again slammed into the steel walls with enough force to crack the entire island of Marine Ford. The wall he hit, didn't just crater from impact, but fell over, completely destroyed, as well as seven walls on either side.
Luffy fell off the wall and onto an ice chunk, he put a bullet into the pipe that he had fashioned earlier, a sea prism bullet to be exact. Luffy raised the pipe taking careful aim, "rail... gun." Luffy forced the static electricity from earlier into the pipe, accelerating the bullet to mach 8, at 2.7 km/s. The bullet smacked Akainu's haki covered body, tearing off his left arm. The steel 'case' had completely melted off by then, the sea prism stone bullet incinerated the arm and left Akainu in a pain filled, crippled state.
"Water barrage," Luffy muttered from his position. He vaporized his arms, spreading the particles throughout the battlefield. He formed tiny ice shards, and hurled them at the red dog of the World Government. But he shimmered and disappeared.
He appeared behind Luffy. A magma spike was formed from his left arm. Akainu stabbed Luffy through the stomach, completely crippling him.
Luffy spit a wad of blood out, splattering all over the ground.
Akainu withdrew his left arm, letting Luffy fall to the ground, "If there's anything to be admired about you, it's your persistence."
He raised his arm to strike again, but was stopped...
By Ace.
"Ace..."
"Don't touch my little brother..." Ace said coldly. His hands were covered by a white flame.
"How...? Fire isn't hotter than magma..."
Ace just smirked, "The sun is only yellow, if I can get hotter by burning white... Then I can dwarf even magma."
For the first time since his childhood, since he ate the magu-magu no mi, Akainu was scared. When he had been burned by Luffy, he accepted that it was the speed at which he was moving. The friction heating up his body hotter than magma. But when Ace burned him, he was standing still.
