I'm back and it's about time because I've been having trouble with my internet since late December! So, yeah sorry for being gone so long the recent internet problems put a damper on some of my fic's thankful I've been working on some that don't need me to look up playthroughs and dialog. And that includes this one for 14 days straight I'm gonna be posting prompts for this one-shot collection, I've been wanting to do this for two years now and last month I finally sat down and wrote most of this story out. This fanfic includes my fan made pairing of Dakota and Ventus. As such a lot of the stories are based in my Birth by Sleep timeline in my Kingdom Hearts cannon so if something doesn't make sense it's because I have yet to expand on it in other fic's. With that said I hope you enjoy the first prompt. Now, on with the show.

Prompt one Stary Date

The starry sky at the Land of Departure was gorgeous, it wasn't as pretty as Twilight Town's sunsets, but it was peaceful, nevertheless. Watching the stars with her friends was a favorite pastime for Dakota, seeing which friend recognized more constellations was Sora and Riku's favorite game. But Dakota, Kairi, Namine, Roxas, and Amy preferred stargazing, no competition, no laud chatter, just peace, and quiet whispers as if they could disturb the heavens itself. But there was a certain someone Dakota loved watching the stars with. It's become no secret that she was falling in love with Ventus; the excitement and nervousness of a new crush was pulling her heart in ten different directions. The newfound feelings came out of nowhere, but Dakota wasn't complaining. Ventus was adorable and made her smile every time he was near; it was as if his positive energy rubbed off on her and kept her smiling even when he left to train.

"I wonder when you'll come out and sit with me?" She asked herself. The stars always seemed to shine brighter when he was with her. When they weren't lying in silence, Ven would usually crack jokes, tell stories of his past with Aqua and Terra and his interests and hobbies. The more she got to know him, the more Dakota realized Ven was someone she wanted to be with, to hold, treasure, kiss, and grow old with. Unfortunately, there were three problems standing in their way. The first was she knew the misfortune he, Aqua, and Terra were about to face. Ven was going to fall into a twelve-year comma in a few short months, and their time together was precious. Second, he was two years older than her, even though Dakota just turned fourteen, Ventus was sixteen years old, and both weren't ready to take on a romantic relationship quite yet, and third, she was scared.

One of Dakota's biggest weaknesses was love. When she falls, she falls hard, which has led to obsessive behavior in the past. Dakota's been trying her hardest to keep her feelings under wraps, but her love for Ven was getting harder to contain, she wants to tell him, but at the same time, she isn't ready yet.

Footsteps from behind her snapped her from her thoughts. She sat there waiting, hoping it was Ventus, but white low hanging scarves in her peripheral vision told her it was Aqua.

"Hey, Aqua." She greeted, smiling brightly,

"Hey, Dakota, nice night tonight, isn't it." She stated cheerfully, sitting down next to her.

"Yeah, I like it here. The stars are pretty during this time."

"They sure are. I love sitting out here with Ven and Terra. I'm happy to see you're enjoying your time here. You and Ven have hit it off."

"So, you've noticed." Dakota smiled shyly, a slight blush on her face,

"It's hard not to, you've only known each other for a few days, and it seems you're already inseparable," Aqua noted,

"Yeah, I make friends easily. Ven is a really good friend and person." Dakota said, feeling butterflies fluttering in her stomach.

"Speaking of which, where is he? I thought he was with you." Aqua questioned, making Dakota face her.

"I thought Ven was inside with you and Terra. He said he had something to take care of." She said,

"Hmm, well, I haven't seen him in a while. Come to think of it. I haven't seen your other friends in a while either."

Dakota wasn't too concerned; she knew they can take care of themselves. But Ventus disappearing is quite odd. "Should we go look for him?" She suggested,

Aqua shook her head, "Nah, I'm sure he'll turn up. What are you doing out here? It's almost dinner time?"

"I'm just looking at the stars; I enjoy staring at them. It's calming for me." She explained quietly,

Aqua understood, and the two slipped into peaceful silence. It was nice getting to know Aqua and Terra before the tragedy that befell them, Dakota met Ven and Vanitas when she was eleven, and that was only a year ago for this universes time. Just when she was about to get lost in her memories. Someone came up to them and cleared their throat. Dakota and Aqua jumped a little and turned to see who startled them.

"Oh, it's just you, Terra." Aqua sighed in relief.

"Sorry to scare you, I saw Dakota here and thought I should tell you the stars are nicer on the summit. Why don't we watch them together?"

"That sounds like a great idea. Come on, Dakota." Aqua smiled, getting up,

Dakota nodded and followed the two older Keyblade Wielders, where a huge surprise waited for her at the top. There were fairy lights strung around the lamp posts and two plates of food on the stone table. The group sat around when Eraqus thought it was too nice to eat indoors. The biggest shock was Ventus, and the others were there waiting for her.

Dakota was in shock. She turned to Aqua and Terra, who had knowing smiles on their faces. Aqua looked close to tears, and Terra looked like a proud older brother watching his little sibling get his first girlfriend.

"What's all this?" Dakota asked, still confused about the fancy setting,

Ventus came forward smiling brightly. It made Dakota's heart skip a beat. No one gave Ven the right to be this cute.

"It's come to my attention that you've grown rather attached to me. So, I thought, why not set up a little date for us. We both like and enjoy each other company, so I thought, why not do something special for you."

"You did all this for me?" Dakota asked, still in shock over the sweet surprise,

"Yeah, I did. I knew you'd like it. You do like it, right? Because it's okay if you don't."

"No, of course, I love it, Ventus. This is the sweetest thing anyone has ever done for me. I'd love to enjoy this date with you." She blushed,

Ven let out a sigh of relief. "She said yes."

Everyone cheered as Ven, and Dakota got seated. The food was excellent. If Chloe cooked it, she outdid herself. Dakota's smile was the brightest Ven had ever seen. Not only that, but the stars shined brighter too.

I hope everyone likes this little story because the next prompt is rainy days see you tomorrow. :)
