Day three and still going strong, this next prompt is a continuation of the last fic, so I hope everyone enjoys this one it was a lot of fun to write.
"Is it your dresser?"
"Nope, guess again."
"Is it the selves?"
"No, but that's close."
Dakota was in Ventus's arms playing a game of I Spy. The rain outside turned into a nice summer storm and caused the power to go out, so to pass the time, the two got cozy in Ven's room and started playing guessing games.
"I got it. It's the walls, isn't it? they're tan." Dakota guessed,
"That's right, and it only took you three guesses. Good job, okay, it's your turn." Ventus smiled,
"Okay, let me think. I spy with my little eye, something that can see things from far away."
"My telescope." He guessed,
"Yeah, you guessed it."
"That was an easy one." He chuckled, arms behind his head.
"Yeah, I guess I'm running out of things to spy on," Dakota admitted,
"That's alright, how about we change the game? Instead of guessing the things in my room, how about, we guess what the other is thinking of?" The spiky blond suggested,
"That sounds like fun; let's do it." Dakota agreed,
"I'm thinking of something that has four legs, a waggly tail, and makes a great house pet." Ventus started,
"Is it a cat?" She guessed,
"Nope, it's more excitable," Ven stated,
Dakota smiled as she thought of another great pet. "Is it a dog?"
"Yes, good job." Ven smiled, "Okay, it's your turn."
Dakota pressed her lips into a thin line, thinking of an idea. Then she thought of something.
"I'm thinking of something that is black, has two antennas, yellow eyes, and is kind of cute."
"Is it a bug?" Ven questioned, feeling a little stumped on the question.
"Nope, not even close. Bugs aren't cute." Dakota stated, shaking her head.
"They can be." Ven pouted,
"Okay, some are. But that's not what I'm thinking off." Dakota stated, feeling a little guilty at making Ven upset, "Okay, some are. But that's not what I'm thinking off." Dakota said, feeling a little guilty at making Ven upset,
Ventus fell silent as he thought of Dakota's clue. "Is it one of your friends? That kind of matches the description."
"Yes and no. You're getting closer, though."
The blond started to think harder, and just when he was about to give up; he remembered what Emily and the others were. "Is it a Heartless? They look just like Emily and the gang."
"You've got it, but what kind of Heartless am I thinking off," Dakota added,
Ven tried to remember the species the girls were then remembered them. "It's a Shadow! You're thinking of a Shadow Heartless." He realized,
"You got it." Dakota returned the smile. "For a second, I thought you wouldn't get it."
"Same here, that was tricky. That was a good one, though. How about we take a break? I need to rest my mind for a moment."
Dakota nodded and rested her head on Ven's chest. His heartbeat was so calming for the lovestruck performer. It was a quiet routine the two recently got into; when she was in the snuggle mood, Dakota normally cuddled into Ventus's chest, and that would lead to him either running his fingers through her hair or rubbing her back. It was peaceful for both friends, and they loved it.
"Mmm, I'm thinking of something comforting." She spoke sleepily.
"Is it me?" He guessed,
"No, it's inside all of us." Dakota yawned, feeling sleep take its hold,
"It's my heartbeat." Ven realized, feeling a slight blush spread across his face.
"Mmhm." The brunette nodded,
"Okay, my turn; I'm thinking of something adorable."
"Mm, is it a teddy bear?" She guessed,
"Nope." Ven chuckled,
"Is it me?" She guessed, not thinking over the answer due to her sleepy mind.
"Yes," Ven said, snapping her awake.
"Really?!" Dakota asked wide-eyed, a blush spreading across her face.
She's so cute. Ven thought fondly, "Yeah, you're adorable to me, Dakota. I love having you around."
Th-Thanks, Ventus, come to think of it, I'm thinking of someone adorable too."
"Is it me?" He questioned, lifting Dakota's chin to meet his eyes.
Gosh, I want to kiss this boy so bad right now. She thought her blush getting deeper. "Yeah, you sure are. I mean, Yes, I'm thinking about you!"
Ven laughed at Dakota's flustered face. Haha, she really is adorable. He thought, stroking her cheek and kissing her on the lips.
"Huh." She blinked, barely believing her crush just kissed her.
"I mean what I said, Dakota, I think you're adorable," he said,
"I I… How did you know I wanted to do that?" Dakota asked, looking away,
"What? you didn't know I know you have a crush on me?"
That was enough to send Dakota's mind into overdrive. "What?!" She exclaimed, "Was I that obvious?"
"A little, I see the way your eyes light up whenever I come into the room. You've spent more time with me than anyone else; it wasn't hard to put two and two together and realize you have romantic feelings for me." Ven explained,
"Do you like me back?" She asked shyly,
"I do a lot; I've never met anyone as incredible as you. I wouldn't mind taking you out for dinner one day."
"That would be nice. I'd love that Ven." Dakota blushed,
Ventus smiled, kissed her again, and laid down, pulling the blankets over them.
"Goodnight, Dakota; I enjoyed myself."
"Me too. I love you, Ventus." She said, snuggling up to her crush,
Ventus giggled and wrapped his arms around her. "I love you too, Dakota."
And so, the two fell asleep in each other's arms, fluffy feelings swarming inside their hearts and a blossoming romance ready to happen.
So, I believe this is the first story to end with a kiss, I'm a sucker for kissing scene the next prompt is First Meetings and this one will go into detail on how the two first met. See you tomorrow ;)
