Another day another prompt. And we're almost done just five days left and this little special will be complete. This prompt was inspired by the theorizes surrounding Ventus Darkness, this one might be a little cheesy but it's another fic idea that I've had bouncing around my head for a while now. With that said enjoy the chapter.
Everyone who knows Ventus saw him as a kindhearted, helpful, and good-spirited individual. What they didn't know was the dark secret he had since the ancient past. It was the biggest surprise to everyone when it was revied Ven had been carrying a powerful Darkness that attached itself to his heart, causing him to lose control and kill Lauriam's sister. No one expected their innocent friend to have such a dark secret. Unfortunately, now that Ven's heart was complete, the Darkness inside him was also completed.
Upon hearing of the Foretellers return, the gang traveled to Yen Sid, warning him of the new danger. That was when Nightmare Chirithy came forward and revealed the truth of Ventus's past and the Darkness that plans to consume him. Everyone was shocked, angry at the Nightmare, thinking it was a trick, but most of all, scared for Ven's safety Dakota was especially worried, fearing the worst and losing the love of her life. Yen Sid, Merlin, and the Good Fairies began searching for a way to cure the ailments before it was too late, but the power was strong, and soon Ventus fell victim to it.
It was a typical night in Destiny Island's. Dakota was enjoying the peaceful night in her room when a call from Aqua surprised her.
"Hello Aqua, what's up?" She greeted,
"Something's wrong with Ven." The Master answered, concern laced in her voice.
"What?!" Dakota followed up, sitting up in bed, her heart filled with worry.
"We were finishing dinner when Ven started acting weird I think the Darkness is trying to take over. I need your help." Aqua pleaded,
"I'm on my way," Dakota stated, hanging up, and rushed outside, not even saying goodbye to the others as she hopped on her Warp Star and flew to the Land of Departure.
"Where's Ventus?!" She spoke when she ran inside,
"In the library, Terra's trying to catch him," Aqua replied. Dakota nodded as the two ran off to give Terra some aid.
The moment the two came inside, Dakota could feel the dark power in the air. "Ventus!? Ventus!?" She called out, hoping to reach out to him,
He didn't answer; instead, the group heard shuffling. "Ven!" They realized, trying to find the source of the noise. Dakota turned her head to see a large shadow with glowing yellow eyes climbing on the shelves.
"Ventus, is that you?" Dakota questioned; the creature ran off with Dakota giving chase. "Hey, wait for me!"
The young girl ran after her lover in hopes of breaking through to him. They stopped in a room with a fireplace lit. Now in the light, Dakota was able to see the full extent of Ventus's corruption. His entire body was black, and his eyes were golden. Dakota remembered seeing Sora like this in his drive forms but never expected Ventus to have the same effect.
"Ventus, are you okay?" She asked. Her boyfriend didn't answer. He didn't move, didn't attack. All he did was stare at her.
"Ven, do you recognize me?" The darkened boy didn't answer. Instead, he walked around her, avoiding the light of the fire. Dakota grabbed a blanket and lay down on the couch, not wanting to leave him alone. She wasn't going to let Ven out of her sights and considering he was docile for the time being. She wouldn't need to worry too much. But she wouldn't stay awake for long. With the warmth of the fire and the comfort of the blanket, she fell asleep, Ventus staying close by.
The following day the two awoke to each other's presence. Dakota opened her eyes to a confused Ventus who was sleeping by her side, now back to normal.
"Ven, you're okay." She smiled happily, pulling her boyfriend into a kiss.
"Of course, I am. Why wouldn't I be?" He said carefreely, but soon his face fell once he realized he had gaps in his memory. "What happened? I remember helping Aqua with the dishes when I started feeling dizzy. Also, what are you doing here?" He asked her,
"The darkness took you over, Aqua, called me when she noticed your corruption."
Ventus's face began to pale. "Did I hurt anyone?" He questioned quietly,
"No," Dakota answered,
"Did I hurt you?"
"No, Ven, I'm fine. I think the light of the fire protected me. Don't worry. I'll stay for a while and protect you; I'm not letting anything hurt you."
Ventus nodded. He was grateful to have his girlfriend by his side. It seems the Darkness only had enough power to take Ven over during nighttime. Leading him to display a Werewolf effect. During the day, Ventus was fine. He acted as if it wasn't even there. Nighttime, on the other hand, he'd transform into the Heartless like form. That was when Aqua, Terra, and Dakota would closely watch the boy, ensuring he didn't leave the world and cause trouble elsewhere.
It became a routine for the foursome. For weeks it went on. But one day, it changed; Ventus began to regain his awareness, he began to talk again, and the Darkness around his body slowly disappeared. The only thing that remained was the golden eyes. It was a relief to everyone when he was able to regain control. Even if Ventus may never be the same, Dakota still loved him deeply.
The two were hanging out in his room; it's been a few days since Dakota visited, and she wanted to spend some time with her significant other.
"And you're sure you don't want to destroy the worlds or us?" She questioned,
Ventus sighed; he understood she was still worried. But the constant questioning was getting old. "Yes, Dakota, for the last time, I want nothing to do with destroying the worlds or betraying you. Besides, there's something more interesting in my room right now." He stated, leaning in closer, staring deep into her eyes. It was moments like these that Dakota questioned if his golden eyes were cuter than his normal ones.
"Ventus no," Dakota stated, flustered, backing away,
"Ventus, yes." He purred, kissing the bridge of her nose, backing away to his original position. "So, what do you want to do tonight?"
"Not sure yet. I'm still recovering from your little advancement." She replied, trying to get her reddened face back to normal.
"I know you don't like it when I do that, but it's too fun seeing your reaction." He admitted with a smile,
"I know, but I still can't get used to it." Dakota frowned, "You know I don't like anything sexual, and this newfound confidence you've gained has me a little concerned."
"I understand. I'm sorry for making you feel uncomfortable. But you know I will never take advantage of you, and to prove it, I've got a little present for you." He said, getting up and walking to his desk.
"Whatcha, got for me, Ven? Is it flowers?"
"No, but that's a nice idea for next time."
"Is it a necklace?"
"That's pretty close, actually. Close your eyes. I want to see your reaction."
Dakota complied, closing her eyes and feeling really giddy all of a sudden. She heard Ventus step behind her and put something around her neck.
"Okay, you can open them now." He spoke. Dakota could hear his excitement. She opened her eyes and looked down at the pink and green Wayfinder around her neck.
"Oh, Ventus, it's beautiful. Did you make it yourself?"
"I did." He nodded, "I asked Aqua to help me make it a few days ago. I also used some of my Wayfinder to make it." Ventus took out his lucky charm reviling three missing pieces replaced with the same pink stained glass.
"Oh, Ventus, you didn't need to do that. But I love the effort you put in. I'll cherish it forever." She gushed, pulling her boyfriend into a touching kiss.
"Of course, I had to do it. You mean everything to me. It's only fair we show everyone how strong and unbreakable our love truly is." Ven stated quietly, through the kisses.
"And it's moments like this that make me love you even more." Dakota smiled as she held the charm she'd cherish for the rest of her life.
I love the idea of Dakota getting her own wayfinder. Just a cute way to show how Ven loves her, next prompt is Midnight Games this one is a little supernatural. ;)
