Well folks, we did it fourteen prompts and just in time for Valentin's Day. For a special treat for sticking with me for these past three weeks I've prepared a very special sneak peek for a new story I've been working on since November I'll give you more details when the story comes out but have a little taste test. Enjoy the story also unlike the rest of the prompts this one is written in first person as that's my main written style.
It was the most unexpected development we ever faced, the ancient Foretellers have returned, and Xigbar is Luxu reincarnated. With Sora's disappearance and no leads to where he's gone, it was time to visit Master Yen Sid. After landing at the Mysterious Tower, we ascended the staircase in a hurry.
"Ugh, will it kill Yen Sid to install an elevator! Climbing these stairs always kills my calves." Emily panted, trying to keep up,
"We go through this every time, Emily. No Yen Sid is not installing modern technology in the tower." Cindy replied,
"Well, I wish he'd reconsider running up these stairs. Takes way too much out of me!" The fisty angel complained,
We continued running until we reached the chamber door. I burst it open as Darryl was putting a book away.
"Whoa!" He wobbled, stumbling off the ladder onto a pile of books on the floor. "Have you gone mad?!"
"Sorry, Darryl, I didn't know you were here." I apologized,
"It's fine. I forgot I promised Yen Sid I'd help with recategorizing the books. Now that Xehanort is gone, we figured it was time for some spring cleaning." He explained, examining a book, "So what are you doing here? It's rather late for a casual visit, don't you think."
I silently nodded and turned to Yen Sid, who was sitting at his desk, "Master Yen Sid, we've come to you with urgent news." I explained,
"Did you find a clue about Sora already?" The Soldier guessed getting a book of his helmet,
"No, it's worse," I replied,
"What could be worse than coming up empty-handed?" Darryl wondered,
"Try the reincarnation of an ancient Keyblade wielder." My Chirithy spoke up wearily,
"What?" The Soldier questioned, confused even Yen Sid seemed interested in what I found,
"I'll explain. I just had a vision," I told Yen Sid and Darryl about my dream vision. I explained to them about the Foretellers return and Xigbar being Luxu reincarnated,
"This is bad. This is very bad." Darryl paced around the small room, slightly panicked, "How could this happen?! How did I not see this coming?! Ugh, we should have found that blasted box when we had the chance. Now the whole universe is in danger again!"
"Yes, it appears Xehanort's defeat was only the beginning." Yen Sid spoke up for the first time since we got here, "With our limited knowledge of The Age of Fairytales, the Foretellers will surely be the biggest threat to us since Xehanort's return."
"Chirithy, please tell me you have some sort of clue as to what's inside the black box." Darryl pleaded,
"I'm sorry, but none of my kind will know anything about it. Not even the Foretellers knew of its existence till now." The spirit replied sadly,
"Sounds like the Master of Master's had more secrecy to him than we thought." Amy realized hand under her chin,
"And now it seems like his true plans are in motion." Riku added, stepping forward, "Master Yen Sid, we need to find Sora more than ever now. We were hoping you could give us some information about the Power of Waking."
"Yes, Sora's disappearance from our world was a shock to me too. I wasn't expecting him to use the power to the point of losing his existence among us." The aged sorcerer stated, stroking his long beard. "Unfortunately, even my knowledge of the power is lacking; there are too many unknowns. Pinpointing Sora's location will be difficult."
"Difficult, yes, but not impossible," Ness spoke up. She was a Darkling Heartless with a tiny red bow on her right horn. Besides her was her twin brother Darkie.
"What are you two doing here?" Aqua questioned, not expecting to see the sentient Heartless.
"We're helping Yen Sid with the books when we overheard Dakota's vision," Darkie explained,
"We figured getting the whiteboard with the research we did would be a good thing to go over," Ness added,
"Thank you, you two I was hoping to go over that again." The Soldier thanked, "I don't know what happened. I thought we'd have a break for a while."
"Well, obviously, you were wrong," Amanda stated rudely,
"Hey, genius, I thought you said we wouldn't have any threats for the next ten years," Emily spoke harshly, arms crossed,
"I don't know what happened; we did the math, we double-checked the math, we did it backward, we even did it upside down."
"How did you do that?" Lizzy questioned, raising an eyebrow,
"Very carefully." Darryl replied, "I told you there was a 1.000000% chance of…." Darryl paused as he noticed a decimal point was sticking out. "Why is that decimal point sticking out?"
Dimentio walked over, picked it off the whiteboard, and ate it. "That's a chocolate chip." He stated,
"Ugh, I told them we have a strict no snacking while tracking deadly events that could negatively impact our lives!" Darryl yelled, "Oh no, that means it wasn't a 1.000000% chance of nothing happening for the next ten years. It was actually a 10,000% chance of something happening in the next ten minutes." The Soldier revealed sheepishly,
"Are you crazy!? Come on?!" We yelled,
"I will end you, man!" Emily threatened,
"I'm sorry, okay, that chocolate chip was an uncontrollable variable!" He defended,
"Great, so what do we do now?" Sandy questioned,
"We have no choice." Yen Sid spoke, "You all must return to your worlds and be on high alert Luxu will bring the battle to us when he's ready. We must be prepared, as another Keyblade War is sadly upon us."
"But what about Sora? We can't just leave him in wherever he is." I said,
"While that is true, we have no idea where Sora is. His body is no longer in the realm of light nor darkness. But somewhere in-between." Yen Sid explained,
"So, purgatory?" Emily guessed,
"That is one way to look at it. I expect you to do your own research as I will do my own. At all costs, we must find him, and that box must never be opened. You should all be very careful. Times have changed, what was accepted back then has been either proven false, or we've gained a better understanding. The Foretellers won't understand. As such, their hearts and minds will be stuck in their ways of the past."
"We're talking about four ancient Keyblade wielders who are now in the 21st century. How bad could it be?" Roxas questioned, not as concerned as the others,
"Very bad our way of living has changed; they won't understand the discoveries we've made. Throughout their lives, they learned to despise Darkness and to destroy it at all costs." Darryl explained,
"Well, they broke that promise considering their own darkness led to the Keyblade War," Lea spoke half-jokingly,
"Lea now's not the time for jokes." Isa lightly scolded,
"Hey, only trying to lighten the mood. I'm with everyone else here. I was hoping to avoid the icky stuff for a while." He stated,
Just then, wicked laughter echoed throughout the small room. "Fools, you are all fools!" A high-pitched voice laughed as a purple light ball landed on a shelf revealing Nightmare Chirithy. A darkened Chirithy that followed us back to the present along with our other Spirits. Her motives were always unclear, but she enjoyed mocking the others during our last journey.
"Nightmare Chirithy. I knew you would show yourself eventually." My Chirithy said, narrowing her eyes at her archnemesis,
"I must admit I wasn't expecting you to find out the identity of my Master so soon. I was expecting you to take another ten hours to do so, no matter the dumbstruck looks on your faces, is a reward in itself." The Nightmare mocked,
"Luxu is your master?" I spoke up shockingly,
"Well, duh, only a Nightmare such as I would be willing to follow you around and keep tabs on you while he was busy taking orders from the big boss. Gotta admit the Master of Masters was right. A group of future dwellers would eventually make their way to the ancient past using the Tome of Prophecies. It's just like he foretold. I was sent to keep an eye on you when you returned to your time, and it seems my time with you has come to an end. Guess you could say I was the traitor among your group the whole time." Nightmare Chirithy giggled then turned her attention to Ventus.
"Now for the youngest Dandelion. Don't worry, Ventus soon; your true memories will awaken, and the darkness in your heart will spread until the kindhearted boy is no more. Then your true destiny will be revived. The Master told you your time would come; say goodbye to your loved ones because pretty soon you'll be itching to give them the sweet release of death." Nightmare Chirithy cackled as she turned into a light ball and floated away.
"Stop her!" Ventus's Chirithy ordered as Donald, Emily, and Darryl attempted to grab the Nightmare but to no avail.
"Un-unbelievable, after all this time, the Chirithy that was with you was Luxu's!" Mabel yelled,
"What did she mean, Ventus's true destiny?" Aqua questioned, haunted by that sentence,
"I don't know, but it seems Ven's battle with the darkness isn't over yet." Terra guessed, putting a protective hand on Ven's shoulder as I grabbed onto him like a lifeline.
Chirithy's words scared me. I nearly lost Ventus on three separate occasions, once when Vanitas took him over after they merged to create the X-blade—resulting in him losing his heart falling into a deep sleep. The second time was fighting Anti Aqua. Ventus protected me from one of Aqua's dark balls. Destroying the temporary heart I created for him, falling back into his slumber. And again, when fighting Xehanort during the final battle, which resulted in death the first time. The thought of losing the love of my life to Luxu's schemes had me frozen stiff. I wasn't going to let that happen; I couldn't let that happen.
"Hey, Dakota, are you okay?" Ventus asked, seeing me grabbing on a little too tight,
I couldn't answer. I was still in shock over Nightmare Chirithy's eerie words.
"Hey, it's okay. I won't let the darkness consume me." Ventus reassured, stocking my head, "I know Chirithy's words got to you. But they don't know who I am, I might not remember my past, but I know who I am in the present, and right now, I'm meant to be with you."
I felt a little better hearing Ven's reassuring words, but that didn't stop me from feeling worried,
"But what if they succeed? What if you belong in the darkness?" I quietly asked my fear talking for me,
Ventus was a little taken aback by the question, but he realized my fear was taking over, seeing as I was pretty shaken. "If something happens and I do lose myself, I am counting on you to save me. Our love is stronger than they realize, Xehanort underestimated us, and now Luxu and the Foreteller are. I will never hurt you, Dakota. If I do, I'll never forgive myself. I promise I'll use that as an Anker to keep me from succumbing to evil completely. Remember what I said when we first started dating? If the light can learn to hate, then the dark can learn to love, and right now, I love you."
"I love you too, Ventus," I said, tightening my grip pretty soon. Warmth spread throughout my body, and I was able to move again.
"Thank you, Ven. I just can't stand the thought of losing you again." I admitted,
"I know the thought hurts me too. But as long we're together, nothing can break us apart." He smiled,
The love and passion we had for each other struck a fire in my heart. Luxu was going to be sorry for even attempting to split us apart. I kissed Ventus as thanks. If Luxu and the Foretellers want to break us apart, then we'll show them just how strong our heart's love truly is.
Heart's Love a Kingdom Hearts story inspired by Werregix's Master Saga series coming March 5
I really hope everyone will look forward to March to see this story unfold. Special thanks to Werregix themselves for giving me permission to post the story in the first place without them this story would have never happened outside of my imagination. Now even though this special is over I will still update this from time to time with one shot's if I ever write more for these two. But for now, thank you to everyone who read, favorited, and followed it and I'll see you in March for the Kingdom Hearts 20th anniversary. I've got a few things planed. ;)
