When singer, now actress, Kara Alura finishes her film debut she leaves to go get a bite to eat but when she sees Jack Chase, who gave her a ring, get robbed she goes to help him but falls through a giant looking glass & lands in Wonderland, which's evolved over the past 150 years. Mary Heart, the Queen of Hearts, rules over it from the Happy Hearts Casino, where people from Kara's world're taken to, sedated & play games in the casino, their positive emotions drained from them & turned into drug-like substances for the people of Wonderland to digest, keeping them under the Queen's control. Later, Kara escapes her own capture with the ring still in her possession. Identified by the tattoo she gains, she's taken to Hatter, a member of the resistance seeking to free the other people from the Queen's control. He takes Kara to ask Dodo to help save Jack but Dodo refuses until the Hatter reveals the ring she wears which Dodo recognizes as the Stone of Wonderland which's able to open the Looking Glass back to the human world. Kara flees when he tries to kill her, Hatter accompanying her to the forest where they escape a Jabberwock & meet Charlie, a surviving White Knight, who fled a battle years ago where Wonderland's knights' wiped out by the Queen. The Queen's the White Rabbit executed &'s the Walrus & Carpenter revive Mad March, her favorite assassin to track Kara.


Kara deliberately allows him to capture her, so she can negotiate with the Queen to free Jack in return for the ring, which Kara's hidden. Jack appears, revealed as the Queen's son & to already be engaged to the Duchess. However, Jack passes Kara her father's watch, implying he's alive & in Wonderland. Kara's put in the Truth Room, where Tweedledum & Tweedledee interrogate her to learn the ring's location, but she's freed by Hatter & Charlie, the trio escaping back to the forests, whilst Jack also escapes. In hopes of aiding the resistance & returning Kara home, Hatter uses his connections to find someone who can bring them to Caterpillar, leader of the resistance, using the ring as leverage; to their surprise, the agent who arrives' Jack, revealing him as an agent of the resistance who had originally stolen the ring as part of a ploy to initiate a coup to overthrow the queen. Trusting him, Kara retrieves the ring & accompanies Jack to meet Caterpillar, who reveals that Kara's father's Carpenter, but he's no memory of her. As he's been crucial in the process of extracting emotions for the Queen, Jack'd deliberately approached Kara in hopes that she could help her father break away from the Queen's control. Just as he shows signs of regaining memories, Mad March & his minions arrive, capturing Kara & Jack whilst he escapes. Reunited with her ring, the Queen decides to send Kara home & execute Jack. Hatter stages a rescue with Charlie but's captured by Mad March after Charlie loses his courage & flees. Charlie, after feeling guilty for deserting Hatter, uses the skeletons of the extinct White Knights as a distraction to trick the Hearts into believing they're under attack. After being tortured by Dr. Dum & Dee, Hatter kills Mad March & escapes. Kara escapes again, joining up with him to snap the others out of their sedations & rally them to escape. Carpenter appears, having regained his memories, but's killed by Walrus. The others' unpleasant emotions run high, causing the casino to start collapsing. Kara, Hatter, Jack, the Dutchess & the Queen escape but Winston; the loyal King of Hearts willingly perishes knowing his wife never loved him. With her followers no longer listening to or fearing her, the powerless Queen surrenders the Stone of Wonderland to Kara who returns home, learning her experience may've been a dream when she awakens in hospital to find she'd been found unconscious an hour after chasing Jack. However, the next day she discovers the "construction worker" who found her's Hatter & they live happily ever after but sometime later God reverses everything & she later becomes Emma Swan where grows up in foster care, bouncing from various families. As a teenager, she becomes a petty criminal with Neal Cassidy. They plan to start a new life in Tallahassee, FL, until he's persuaded by August Booth, Pinocchio, to turn her over to the police to protect her destiny. She's jailed, later giving birth to Henry, whom she gives up for adoption; he's then adopted by Regina Mills a.k.a. the Evil Queen. After some time in prison, Emma becomes a bail bond agent. On her 28th birthday, a 10-year-old Henry Mills arrives in Boston, explaining her origins. Disbelieving him, she returns him home to Regina in Storybrooke, who becomes worried that Emma wants to be in Henry's life. Regina's repeated warnings to leave town & keep out of his life make Emma decide to stay.

In Storybrooke, she initially wants Henry to let go of his theories of the curse, but later plays along. She moves in with Mary Margaret, Snow White, unaware that they're related, & Sheriff Graham appoints Emma his deputy as they form an attraction until Regina crushes his heart, causing him to die in Emma's arms. She's soon elected sheriff, assisting in the arrest of Mary Margaret for the alleged murder of Kathryn Nolan until she's found alive. When August Booth, Pinocchio, arrives he reveals her destiny of breaking the curse, a pressured Emma decides to leave the town, not wanting Henry to suffer from her & Regina's feud. Regina, however, attempts to poison her, though Henry willingly consumes it to prove that magic exists. Emma finally believes, but he's pronounced dead. However, he's awoken with true love's kiss from Emma, thus breaking the curse & allowing all residents to remember they're true identities. Later, she reunites with her parents, only to fall through a portal with her mother to the Enchanted Forest where they meet Princess Aurora & Mulan who help them return to Storybrooke. Emma then helps Mr. Gold travel to Manhattan to locate his son Baelfire, who she discovers' Henry's father Neal. Returning to Storybrooke, she deals with Regina & her mother Cora who're trying to use Mr. Gold to kill them & take back Henry but they eventually stop them then end up dealing with newcomers Greg Mendell & Neal's fiancée Tamara. Emma's skeptical theories on the pair're proven correct when it's revealed they want to destroy magic. After Emma & Regina stop their trigger to destroy Storybrooke Henry's taken to Neverland by Greg & Tamara; Emma, Neal, her parents, Regina, Hook & Mr. Gold follow them. The team eventually manages to rescue Henry from the sinister Peter Pan & return to Storybrooke. However, he enacts the original curse once more, forcing Emma & Henry to leave Storybrooke after Regina reverses her curse, erasing the events following its enactment. Emma's past's temporarily altered by Regina. After leaving Storybrooke, she lives with Henry in NYC. Sometime later, she meets Walsh & they begin dating.
