Ch.3
Many of the Beast and Monster Ghosts glared up at the pair, others begrudgingly bowed. Danny sighed, "Those of you who have chosen peace are now free of my previous command, stop, and may leave. Those of you who have chosen to fight will be taken to the dungeons in Phantom's Keep." Danny looked out to his allies, "Those of you who are not injured, take the prisoners to the dungeons in Phantom's Keep, then you may all return home."
He was about to say something else when his eyes rolled back and he plummeted from the sky. Tucker reacted quickly and was able to catch him with ease. Sam started to fly to the pair but as she moved she too lost consciousness and fell. Val reacted just as quickly as Tucker had and caught Sam before she fell far.
The hunter pair looked out over their allies. Tucker's helmet vanished, "Do as the King requested. Once all of the enemy forces have been put into the dungeons, you are all free to return to your homes. And those of you who were tasked with helping the injured, do so. If anyone is seriously injured, please bring them to the Keep for treatment." Some nodded but others hesitated.
Valerie's helmet also vanished, "We will have the King and Queen looked over and have news of their condition spread. Fear not, they are both strong and will be fine." The rest of the allies, though they still looked concerned, did as they were told.
The pair looked at the Observants, "You will be taken to the Keep. We will decide what we're going to do with you once we arrive." As everyone began grabbing a prisoner, Tuck and Val took off towards Phantom's Keep. It didn't take them long to reach their friend's home. They jetted through the Keep, straight to the medical wing, startling the castle workers on their way. They flew into the medical wing and the Doctor just looked at them with a raised eyebrow, until she noticed her rulers, in their arms. The hunters gently laid their friends onto a set of cots and the doctor quickly floated over.
"What happened?" The Doctor questioned as she began checking Sam's vitals. While Tuck looked at a screen on his arm, tapping something on it before holding his open palm above Danny's head. A blue light shot out of it and onto Danny's face. As Tuck moved his hand down, the light went with it, scanning Danny's body for abnormalities.
Val looked at the Doctor, "They both just dropped. I'm pretty sure it's from them using so much energy to end the war."
"They caught the Observants?" The Doctor asked as she glanced up at Val, who nodded.
"Yes. However, two got away. We don't know where they're at, but we did capture most of their army. Danny released the ones who submitted, back into the Wastelands. The soldiers should be arriving soon to drop the rest in the dungeons." Val explained moving towards the door, "I'm going to make sure everything goes well. We can decide on the Observants after everything else has been dealt with." Tuck nodded and Val headed out of the wing.
Tuck looked at the Doctor, "Danny's vitals are normal." She nodded.
"Well, they both seem stable. There aren't any other injuries, I believe Lady Valerie was correct. Their fainting is due to energy loss." She looked at Tucker, "I understand this has happened to the King and Queen before. But what would cause them to lose so much energy?"
"They used their commands." He explained as he deactivated his armor.
The Doctor's face twisted in confusion, "But them using their command power shouldn't have caused such a large loss."
"Well… Sam used it twice on the entire opposing army. She could've used it more when they were facing the four Observants though. As for Danny, he used it once on both armies. Then twice on just the enemies. But again, he could've also used it against the Observants. Me and Val were fighting to hold back the opposers, so we didn't go with them when they faced the four Observants." Tuck explained as he held up fingers to count as he recalled his friends using their most powerful attribute.
The Doctor nodded, "Yes using that power multiple times. Let alone on so many of varying power levels and on the Observants who are just slightly under the King and Queens power levels. Would indeed be a lot to handle." She looked at her rulers, "Please take them to their room Sir Tucker. They will be fine. They just need rest. I will check on them occasionally." Tucker nodded and picked up Danny.
"I will come back for Sam." The Doctor nodded and went to sit back down as he headed out.
As Val walked out of the medical wing, she headed for the main hall just in time to see the soldiers carrying in the prisoners. All of them stopped to look at her, "What are your orders, my Lady?" One of them asked her.
"We will do as the Queen and King commanded. However," She said looking at the ones holding the Observants, "I need them to stay up here until Tucker is done helping the doctor." She looked back to everyone else, "The rest of you follow me to the dungeons." They all nodded, and Val turned and headed towards the dungeons, all the soldiers following.
Tucker had taken Sam and Danny to their room and headed to the dungeons to meet his girlfriend. He rounded the corner that leads to the stairs, which go down to the dungeons. Only to see Val heading up the stairs, "Hey babe." He spoke looking at her with a smile.
She looked up at him and smiled, "How's Danny and Sam?" She questioned as she reached him.
"They're ok. Still out, but hopefully they'll recover their energy quickly and wake up." He looked around her, "All good here?"
She nodded, "All prisoners have been secured. We need to go deal with the Observants though. I left them in the main hall until we could decide what to do with them."
Tuck gave her a half-smile, "Well let's go deal with our most esteemed guests." Val laughed and the pair headed to the entry hall. The pair entered the hall and went over to where the Observants and the soldiers holding them were still waiting.
Tucker looked at his girlfriend, "I think it would be best to split them apart." Val nodded in agreement.
"One to Pandora, one to Frostbite, one to Walker, and one to Dora. Sound good?" Val questioned looking from the still frozen Observants to her boyfriend.
Tuck nodded and looked to each guard, "Do any of you live in Pandora or Dora's domains?"
A soldier with blue skin and green hair spoke, "I am from Queen Pandora's Acropolis."
Val smiled, "Then you are tasked with taking this Observant to Pandora's palace. You will be free to return home once Pandora has taken custody of him. You are to watch him with your life and make sure he is taken to the proper place. Is that understood?" The soldier nodded and bowed before turning and leaving the Keep.
A grey-skinned soldier with pink hair looked at the pair, "I am from Queen Dora's Kingdom."
Tuck looked at her, "Then you have the same instructions Valerie just gave." The soldier nodded and bowed before leaving.
"Which of you wishes to go to Walker's prison?" Val questioned the last two.
A green soldier with a helmet looked at her, "I have a friend who works as a guard in the prison. I will go."
Val nodded, "You have the same instructions." He too nodded and bowed before leaving.
Tucker looked at Val, "I think we should keep this one here. So Danny and Sam can talk to him later."
Val nodded and looked at the last soldier, "We will take custody of the last Observant. You may head home." The soldier handed the Observant over, bowed, and left the Keep as well. Val and Tuck took the Observant to a cell on the other end of the Keep in a small dungeon away from where the rest of the prisoners were.
The pair let out relieved sighs as they headed back for the East Wing. Val stretched, "Well this has been one hell of a day…"
The pair froze mid-step and looked at each other before facepalming, "We didn't tell them about the trip…"
"Well one of us needs to stay here and keep an eye on them. The other needs to go back to Amity and tell Jazz and the Manson's the news." Tuck said rubbing his temples.
Val gave him a look, "Rock, paper, scissors for it?" Tucker burst out laughing but nodded. After 15 rounds of rock, paper, scissors, Val won. Tucker conceded and headed for Amity to relay the news.
After Tucker left, Valerie headed for Danny and Sam's room. She quietly moved into the room and headed for the couch by the fireplace. She lit the fireplace before collapsing onto the couch and grabbing the book she leaves in their room, for occasions like this. Val stayed on the couch reading for a few hours before Tuck had returned. Neither Phantom awoke in that time.
The door to Danny and Sam's room opened causing Val to look at it. Tuck and the Doctor walked in, "They still not up?" Tuck questioned looking at his friends, then over to his girlfriend. The Doctor moved over to the bed to check on the rulers.
"Haven't even so much as twitched. How'd Sam's parents, Grandma Ida, Jazz, and Ellie take the news?"
Tuck plopped onto the couch, "Well Jazz was relieved, Danielle was begging to come home. As for Sam's parents, they were pretty much terrified that Sam was dying and basically demanded she be taken to a hospital…" Tuck shuddered, even after all these years he was still terrified of hospitals, "But after I explained that a human hospital couldn't take care of Sam's ghost side they relented, but still wanted to come see them. I told all of them as soon as they wake up, I'll send them to Amity or one of us will be back to bring them here."
Val nodded and looked at the Doctor, "How are they?"
The Doctor looked at them, "Still stable. Her highnesses energy seems close to normal, so she should be waking up soon. The King, on the other hand, seems to have barely recovered any energy. Which is odd. Usually, they are both able to replenish their energy quickly. Maybe using so much at once just drained him to a point where it will take much longer."
Tucker looked concerned and confused, "Danny's usually the one who recovers faster… and from what they've both said being in the Zone helps their energy recover quicker. Plus you just said Sam's energy was almost recovered…"
She looked at Tucker, "Honestly Sir Tucker, I'm not sure. Aside from his energy, he is perfectly healthy. I will give it until tomorrow morning, and if neither of them has woken up, I will call for Frostbite." The hunter pair nodded, and the Doctor headed out of the room.
Val moved so she could lean on Tuck, "Well at least Sam should be waking up soon. It is around 9 so they may just sleep through the night at this point."
"How are we going to do the field trip? I mean we never got the chance to tell them that it was happening. And with them being out of it, it's not like we can tell them now…" Tuck sighed wrapping his arms around Valerie's waist and nuzzling into the crook of her neck.
Sam's voice echoed in the room, "Tell us what?"
The hunter pair sat up, startled by their friend's voice. They looked to their friends' bed, to see Sam slowly moving so she could sit up. They both were over the couch and across the room in seconds.
Sam looked up at them concerned, "What's wrong?" Val didn't say anything as she plopped onto the bed beside her and pulled Sam into a hug. Sam raised a confused eyebrow but hugged back. When they parted, she changed back to human and looked at her friends, "What happened?
"Well, you guys passed out," Tuck said sitting on the bed at Sam's feet.
Sam immediately tried to get up but was stopped by the hunter pair, "You need to rest Sam." Val chided.
"I need to go help the soldiers. Finish the battle." Sam grunted.
"The war is over," Tuck said and Sam froze.
She looked between them, "What?"
"You guys passed out from using your commands so much. But the battle was already over when you dropped." Tuck explained with a soft smile at his friend.
"Yea, we took over for you guys and followed what Danny said. The Wasteland residents who surrendered went away without causing any more problems. The soldiers, who weren't injured or treating the injured, carried the rest of the army here and I made sure they were secured in the dungeons." Val explained as Sam reluctantly relaxed back against the headboard.
Tuck picked up where Val stopped, "We both decided it best, to split the Observants. One remained here, the others were split between Pandora, Dora, and Walker."
"After that, Tuck went to Amity and told everyone what was happening," Val said, causing Sam to give a half laugh, thinking it probably didn't go over well.
Tuck smiled sadly, "Ellie begged to come home but I convinced her to wait until one of you woke up. Your parents took some calming down after I told them you'd passed out, but they reluctantly came around. Your grandma is just worried about you both."
Sam looked at Danny, "Has he already been up?"
The friends shook their heads, "You're the first to wake up this time. The Doctor said his energy isn't recovering well. But for some reason, yours is already back to normal." Tuck said looking at his goth friend. This only caused her concern to grow.
"That's… not normal…" She hesitated and the friends nodded.
"The Doctor said to give it the rest of the night. Since neither of you are injured. She said she would call for Frostbite if neither of you woke up. But you're up now." Val explained and Sam nodded.
Sam let out a sigh and looked back at her friends, "Ok well, if you told them I'd visit when we woke up, I guess I need to head out." She hesitated, "What did you need to tell us?" The hunter pair glanced at each other and Sam instantly knew it wasn't good, "Oh Clockwork, what now?"
"The… Fenton's and the school… have planned a trip to… come here." Valerie explained slowly and every word out of her mouth caused Sam's eyes to widen in horror. Just like theirs had, when they heard about it this afternoon.
She facepalmed and let out a breath of frustration, "When is this happening?"
"… … …"
When neither of them said anything Sam's gut sank, "Oh for the love of the Infinite Realms please tell me it's not soon."
Val gave a nervous smile, with a half shrug, "Tomorrow…"
It was all Sam could do to keep from screaming in fury, "Are you fucking serious?! Why the hell haven't you told us sooner?!"
"Hey, don't shoot the messengers. We found out right before lunch and we'd been brainstorming all day. That's why we didn't see your message about the Observants sooner. We planned to tell you as soon as we got here but you see where that went." Tuck snipped back, crossing his arms.
Sam sighed and rubbed her face, "Right. Sorry I snapped. It's just a lot. What have you guys thought about?"
"Well, to keep them safe, we figured you could ban anyone from messing with them. Or at least announce that we're escorting them and they aren't to be messed with." Val said looking between her boyfriend and Sam.
Tuck nodded, "I can tap into the Speeders system when we get in and turn on autopilot. Along with disabling the steering so the Fenton's can't take us somewhere random. I can also basically child lock the weapons so only me or Val could use them."
Sam smiled, "That's a good plan guys. Where were you thinking of going though?"
"Well, we figured we wouldn't stop anywhere but here. But we could go by Pandora's and Dora's for sure. Again, no stopping, just swing around so they can see the kingdoms." Val continued.
Sam nodded, "That's good. I'll leave all that to you guys then and I'll let Danny know when he wakes up." She looked between her friends, "We all need to head to Amity then." The pair nodded in agreement. The hunter pair helped Sam out of the bed. To keep Sam from using more energy, on the trip back to Amity, Val offered to let her ride on the hoverboard. Which Sam greatly appreciated.
