Ch. 4

Once the three friends reached Amity, Val looked at Sam who was sitting in front of her on the hoverboard, "Where are we dropping you? Jazz's or your parents?"

Sam looked thoughtful for a second, "I'll go to my parents first. If Danielle is asleep I don't want to wake her up by taking her multiple places." The hunter pair nodded.

Tuck and Val headed straight for the Manson's mansion. Once they were in front of the Manson's house, Val lowered her hoverboard so Sam could hop off. By the time her feet hit the ground, her parents had flung open the front door and rushed to hug her.

Sam said her goodnights to her friends and they flew off. She groaned in exasperation at her parents reactions but gave them each a quick hug, "I'm fine guys."

"Sammy that friend of yours, Tucker, came by and said you were unconscious!" Pamela cried as she looked her daughter over.

Sam put her hands on her mother's upper arms holding her at arm's length, "I'm ok Mom. We just used to much energy at once. We're both fine now." Sam explained.

Her father looked at her, "Are you sure you're alright?"

Sam looked at her dad, dropping her hold on her mother, "Yes I'm sure. Danny's still asleep though." She looked worried for a minute before shaking her head and looking back at her parents, "Is there anything else you guys wanted? I need to go get Danielle and take her home."

"I suppose not. We just wanted to make sure you were alright. Do you want us to come with you?" Pamela asked still looking concerned at Sam.

Sam shook her head, "I'm sorry not tonight. Apparently, the class we were supposed to be in this year, decided it would be the perfect time to take a field trip to the GZ." Sam rubbed her temples in frustration, "So. Not only do I have to worry about my husband not waking up, but I also have to worry about his psycho birth parents coming into our home and threatening our people. While also trying to keep everyone that goes on this trip from finding out our secret. Because if the wrong person finds out and word spreads, then the Guys in White, will hunt us down and try to dissect us. And if they find out about Danielle then they'll want to do the same thing to her, and she's just a baby!" Sam ranted, flinging her arms out before rubbing them down her face, "And we still have two Observants that got away that we have to deal with too…"

Her parents looked at her concerned, "Are you sure we can't help? That sounds very stressful. Maybe you should leave Danielle here a little longer." Jeremy tried to reason.

Sam shook her head, "No, it's been long enough. I miss having Danielle at home. And from what I've heard she's ready to come home. The danger to her is minimal now. The Observants wouldn't risk going after her."

"Well wouldn't it be better for us to come with you so we can watch her while you handle everything else?" Pamela offered.

Sam paused for a minute thinking, "I guess it wouldn't hurt. Danielle does love to get into trouble. Plus Jazz will be busy with the files and it would give her a break too. Tuck and Val will be busy with the class too. I guess the more hands the better… but neither of you have been around ghosts very much. Let alone fought them. And do you really want to risk someone from Casper seeing you?" Sam countered looking between her parents.

They looked at her determined, "If you need help Sam, we'll help." Jeremy said.

Sam sighed, "Fine, let's get Grandma. But you will listen to everything I say. You are both human and have had little to no interaction with ghosts. You may be my parents but that doesn't matter. You must earn our citizens respect." The pair nodded, "Alright lets head to Jazz's." After Jeremy went in to get his mother, the group of four headed to Jazz's apartment. With a quick explanation as to why Sam's parents and Grandmother were there, the group of six headed for the Ghost Zone.

"How exactly are we supposed to get to your castle?" Pamela asked concerned as they neared the Fenton's home.

Jazz looked at her, "I have a spare hoverboard in my old room. I'll grab it and you two can use it." Sam's parents looked at her like she had a third head and Jazz rolled her eyes, "They aren't difficult to work. I can control it from mine, if it's that big of an issue. Grandma Ida will ride with me." She looked at Sam, "Glad Tuck decided to make me a spare, huh."

Sam chuckled softly trying not to wake her daughter who was clinging to her, "No kidding. Who knew we'd ever have to do this." Jazz nodded and quietly opened the front door to Fenton works.

After dropping Sam off at her parents' house, Tuck and Val flew to the house Valerie shared with her father, Damon Gray. The pair landed on the front porch and not bothering to deactivate their armor as they walked into the house. Once they were inside they made a b-line for the couch and collapsed.

Damon walked out of the kitchen and couldn't help but laugh as he saw the pair of teens covered in armor on his couch, "Long day?" He questioned as he went to sit in his recliner adjacent to the couch, hot chocolate in hand.

Tucker deactivated his helmet and looked at him, "You could say that."

"How's Danny and Sam doing with the uprising?" He asked taking a sip of his drink.

Val deactivated her armor and stretched, "Well, we stopped the Observants, but two got away. We got the army to the dungeons but Danny and Sam had blacked out. Sam's ok now but Danny is still out." She explained.

Damon raised his eyebrows concerned, "That's unusual. Is he ok?"

"The Doctor at the Keep thinks he just used to much energy but doesn't understand why he isn't recovering his energy." Tuck explained standing up.

"Where are you going?" Val asked her boyfriend.

He gave her a 'duh' look, "I'm going home Val. It's like 1 in the morning and I would like some sleep before this trip to hell."

Damon looked at the pair concerned, "The what?"

The teens looked at Damon then each other than Damon again, "Did you know about the field trip to the ghost zone?" Val questioned as she looked at her father.

Damon looked at them confused, "They're doing what?"

Tucker rubbed the back of his neck in annoyance, "Apparently the Fenton's and Casper High decided to make our senior class trip, a trip into the ghost zone."

Damon's eyes widened, "Are you serious? That's ridiculous! I mean I signed a slip at the beginning of the school year that talked about possibilities for the class trip but it never mentioned the GZ."

Val sighed, "That must be how they're getting away with it. Five bucks says Vlad did that." She said looking at Tuck who nodded.

"Knowing that scheming fruit loop, probably. I don't understand why he would plot a trip into the ghost zone though." Tuck thought out loud crossing his arms.

Damon looked between them, "Well, if this was his plan, before the uprising with the Observants, maybe it's an effort to put Danny and Sam in a tough spot. Mainly Danny, but you get my point."

Val put a curled finger to her chin, "Honestly that wouldn't surprise me. But with Danny and Sam being gone for almost four months now, you would think he'd drop it."

"That depends on how bad he wants to expose them. Though at this point, I don't know how big a deal keeping their secret is." Tuck pointed out moving to the door.

Damon looked at him, "Isn't your house on the other side of town?" Tuck nodded, "Why don't you sleep on the couch? You two have to be up early by the sounds of it and it's already very late."

"Thanks for the offer but my parents are probably already freaking out because I'm not home yet." Tuck sighed.

Val stood up too, "Honey, I'm sure you can just tell them you're at Jazz's with Danny. And we've been busy with homework. I know they worry a lot but after all these years I think they'll be alright if you just text them." She reasoned trying to get her boyfriend to relax.

"You're right. Let me text them really quick." He looked at Damon, "Thanks for the offer."

Damon just waved a dismissive hand as he got up and moved towards his bedroom, "So long as you two don't sleep in Valerie's bed I'm fine. Besides you seem too tired to try anything funny tonight." The teens flushed but said their goodnights to him.

Val moved to her room, "I'll grab your sleep pants and shirt. Just let me change first." Tuck nodded as he deactivated his armor and flopped back onto the couch. A few minutes later Val had changed into her pj's and brought Tuck out his own pj set. He grabbed the clothes with a grateful thank you and quickly changed. The pair laid down on the couch together but quickly fell asleep. The next morning Damon just rolled his eyes as he moved to wake up the exhausted teens.

"Sleeping beauties, you've got idiots to deal with, wake up." Damon called as he moved to the kitchen. The pair didn't wake up. He tried calling them a few more times before sighing and yelling, "GHOST!"

The pair shot straight up, looking around frantically before their eyes landed on a smirking Damon. The pair rolled their eyes, dropping back onto the couch. Damon rolled his eyes, "Come on you two, I made coffee. You'll probably need it for today." Reluctantly the pair got up and went into the kitchen to make themselves a cup of coffee.

Val looked at her phone, "Sam says she announced the arrival of humans this afternoon, escorted by us, and that no one is to harm us unless they want to deal with their anger." She laughed at the last part and so did Tucker.

"I don't think anyone, aside from the Observants are dumb enough to incur both of their wraths." Tuck took a sip of the coffee in his hand, "So what are we taking on this trip?"

Val shrugged, "Well if nothing happens well be at the Keep by 3 and I'm sure Sam will have rooms ready for everyone. If something does go wrong we have our emergency signals that will show Sam and Jazz our location. So we don't necessarily have to take anything aside from first aid kits." She thought out loud, leaning against the kitchen counter.

Damon looked at them from his spot by the stove, "What will you two do about your hunter identities?"

"Well, if someone attacks we'll obviously keep them safe. But if nothing happens, we probably won't suit up at all." Tuck explained taking another sip.

Val sighed, "I mean it's not like well be experimented on if we're found out. I mean the GIW and Fenton's might interrogate us but we're not like Danny and Sam so, there isn't much they can do."

Damon looked at them concerned, "Do you think if someone finds out about them, they'll tell?"

"Honestly it depends on who it is and how grateful they are." Tuck said putting his cup in the sink and moving to get the clothes he had on yesterday. He went to the bathroom to change while Val went to her bedroom. They said their goodbyes to Damon and headed to school.

By the time they'd reached the front of the school, the rest of the class had already gathered. The nerds were dressed practically, some of the popular girls were too. However, when they looked at Paulina they cringed. A short, black, mini skirt with an almost see through, white, short sleeve, belly shirt with a DP in black in the center. Her hair was done and so was her make up. She looked like she was going on a date not a trip to the Ghost Zone. At least half of the jocks had on Danny Phantom tee shirts and other merchandise. While others from the popular crowd were also dolled up, clearly wanting attention. Val and Tuck had to keep from laughing at the way their class looked.

Mr. Lancer looked over at the approaching teens, "Mr. Foley, Ms. Gray you're the last two here. Still on time though, everyone else just got here early… surprisingly. And only a few wore appropriate clothing." He noted irritably looking over some of the crowd, "Alright everyone on the bus." He said herding the class onto the bus. The pair sighed and followed their class onto the bus.

It didn't take them long to get to Fenton works, the problem was no one was there to greet them. The class and Mr. Lancer were piled on the front porch, becoming irritable. The hunter pair rolled their eyes and pushed through the crowd to the front door. Tucker grabbed the doorknob, flinging open the door and walking in. Val followed quickly behind before Mr. Lancer could protest. Halfway through the living room, the pair turned to look at the confused class.

"Well, are you coming?" They asked together.

Mr. Lancer hesitated but walked inside and ushered the class inside. Tuck and Val kept walking towards the kitchen before stopping at the top of the stairs that lead down to the basement. Mr. Lancer watched them intrigued and also wondered where Danny was. Tuck took a deep breath, "Maddie! Jack! The Casper High students are here!" The class jumped at Tuckers yell, many startled at the fact that he could yell.

The pair moved to the side as a different pair of feet were heard coming up the stairs. The Fenton's emerged from the stairwell, completely disregarding Tucker and Valerie's presences beside them. The Fenton's walked into the living room with large smiles as they began explaining what would be happening. Only Mr. Lancer noticed the pair slip down the stairs the Fenton's had just come up.

"How long will it take to reprogram the speeder?" Val questioned the second they got into the lab.

Tucker shrugged, "Not long. But can you disable the steering mechanism, while I do this?" Val nodded and moved inside the speeder while Tucker plugged his PDA into the dashboard. It took them about five minutes to override the Fenton's Speeder and disable the steering.

They moved to the corner on the same wall as the stairs, as Tucker kept plotting their root through the Ghost Zone. He also moved the Fenton portal back to its original location. A few minutes later the Fenton's and the class came down. The Fenton's showed the class the Speeder and allowed them to get on and choose their seats.

Mr. Lancer looked around the lab until he found his missing students in the corner. He was confused why they were looking so intensely at Tucker's PDA. He cleared his throat, "Mr. foley, Ms. Gray, are you coming?" The pair looked up at him, then around to see everyone else was already on the Speeder and sighed before moving onto the Speeder as well.

After the hunter pair and Mr. Lancer sat down, Jack pressed the on button with a giant smile, "Alright everyone! Here we go!" Tucker and Valerie just groaned as they jetted through the portal and into the Ghost Zone. The class ohh'd and aww'd at the green swirling zone. Tucker and Valerie let out relieved sighs as they entered their friends home.

Mr. Lancer noticed some floating doors and looked at the Fenton's, "What are all the floating doors?"

The Fenton's looked around, "We aren't sure. We've never been in here before."

Except for Tuck and Val, every persons eyes bulged as they yelled, "WHAT?" Tuck and Val tried not to laugh at all their reactions.

"Well it was obviously dangerous for us. We are ghost hunters." Maddie explained as if it was obvious.

Mr. Lancer was beyond angry, "Then how is it safe now!?"

"Well a few years ago, there was an energy shift around the portal. It's become almost completely positive and we wanted to know why. Plus most of the ghost attacks in Amity have stopped, so obviously there was some kind of change." Maddie stated looking around.

Tucker snorted, "Yea cause they got a new King." He said louder than intended.

This caused a few people to look at him including Mr. Lancer, "New King?"

Val face palmed, "Smooth Tucker. Smooth."
