Dear little Urchin

August 4th, 2021

I know you will be angry and rightfully so that I left without a farewell. Or an explanation for that matter.

Most likely you will curse me and maybe even fuel the anger and hurt your little sister feels about my absence in her life. Your both lives.

But I know, you will be the strong one to take care of your mother and your little sister. I know I can count on you to be there, when Rory will fall from her bike or cry because of some bully at that child prison you spent most of your days in to learn things, you most likely won't ever need again in your hopefully long lives.

You'll be there in my stead when she takes her first steps and speak her first word.

I'm sure you'll teach her well how to broker deals and how to find loopholes. After all you have been the Devil's best apprentice.

I wonder how you'll react when your little sister unfurls her wings for the very first time. But you have been a believer from the very first day we met. At least this was my impression. Yet, I'm not so sure anymore as I write this.

This letter is the belated farewell and also my congratulation to your 21st birthday, Trixie.

While I write these lines, I wonder to what wonderful strong-headed and kind young woman you have grown up to.

When you have been little, your desire had been to become the president of Mars. Although I know that Humankind is making fast progress towards the red planet, I doubt that there will be a parliamentary democracy on that planet in your life time. Yet, if it is still your wish to set foot onto that dull and dusty rock, then show this letter to Maze. She knows about all my deals and what favor to call in to grant your wish.

If you decide to remain on the earthly surface, then the pendent accompanying this letter will give you a small glimpse of your beloved Mars. Amenadiel had been so kind as one of his first official acts as new God to bring a few grains of Mars' sand to Earth and enclose them in the glass-pendant hanging from the necklace.

I hope to see you after a very long and happy life on the other side and that you will accept Amenadiel's offer to visit me. I know the place here is everything else than welcoming, but I know your bright smile will light the dark corridors up in a second.

So I'm waiting here with the hope that you would forgive me for the sadness and hardship I've brought to you and our family.

I have one last request to you. This will sound peculiar, but under no circumstance you can show this letter or disclose its content to Rory. Ever. I know it will hurt her deeply, but if she knew, everything might turn out differently. And most likely not for the best.

Live your life to the fullest, dear Urchin, and don't regret anything and even less feel guilty about anything. I look forward to see you one day, but only as a visitor to this realm and not as part of my new purpose.

L.

A/N: This was my second try to give Trixie a farewell from her Devil. I hope you like it.

I came up with a possible explanation of why Lucifer didn't say his good-bye to Trixie and why he kinda sent Dan in his stead. I hope that story will be ready to be uploaded at the weekend.

Disclaimer: I don't own the characters, just playing with them.
