"Wake up!" Jade felt something land on her face and she raised it off her face,

"What's with you throwing pillows?" She groaned as she tried to roll over to go back to sleep.

"Do you know what day it is?" Pansy asked as she crawled onto Jade's bed.

"Saturday." Jade sighed and then paused a moment and her eyes snapped open, "Saturday!"

"Halloween!" Pansy yelled and then she bounced off Jade's bed so the two of them could get ready.

"Hogsmeade!" Jade sang as she opened her trunk and pulled out clothes for the day.

"Don't forget about the feast tonight too." Pansy reminded her. The girls got ready quickly and then joined the others for breakfast. They all seemed to inhale their food before making their way to the Entrance Hall where Filch was standing at the front doors, checking names off of a long list.

"You're so lucky," Gretta told Jade as she walked with them.

"Don't worry, I'll bring you back something," Jade promised, all of the students gathered around Filch, he stared up every now and then, making sure the faces in front of him matched the names on the list. "You better get going before filch tries to accuse you of sneaking away with us."

"If only," Gretta remarked and Jade waved goodbye as Gretta joined a Hufflepuff boy and made their way up the marble stairs.

"Staying here, Potter?" Draco called over the crowd and Jade turned to find Harry. He was standing next to Hermione and Ron and he looked upset. "Scared of passing the Dementors?" Jade slapped him on the arm before walking over to them.

"Hey." She greeted,

"Hi."

"Excited about Hogsmeade?" She smiled meekly.

"Harry can't go," Hermione told her,

"Why not?" Jade frowned,

"I didn't get my slip signed," Harry said.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I'll grab something for you!" Jade offered, "What do you want?" She asked and his expression changed just a fraction.

"I don't know, what is there?"

"Loads of stuff!" Jade smiled, "I'll just grab whatever I think you'll like." She promised and he gave her a small smile,

"Thanks." He looked between his friends as Filch called for the students who were leaving. "I'll see you guys, later." Then he turned and left,

"It's really spoiling his mood, isn't it?" Jade asked as they watched him go.

"Yeah, wouldn't it trouble you?" Hermione asked, "If all of your friends talked about how great Hogsmeade is and then you couldn't go?" Jade nodded and followed the large crowd of students outside. It was nice outside, the sun was bright but there was a breeze in the air that reminded them of the coming winter. The trip to Hogsmeade wasn't a long one, but it felt shorter since Jade wasn't doing it alone. Jade had separated from Ron and Hermione about halfway down the large hill that led around the Whomping Willow and down into the village. When Jade joined her Slytherin friends, Pansy was going on about how she could see the shops ahead every ten steps or so.

"We get it, we're almost there." Draco groaned and Jade lightly nudged him in the side,

"What, like you're not excited?" Jade asked,

"I am, but Pansy's ruining it for me."

"Sod off, Malfoy." Soon, they were all gathered on the street just before the shops and they all waited impatiently as Professor McGonagall went on about rules and safety.

"Alright, go on, all of you." She dismissed them with a smile tugging at the corner of her mouth and everyone went off in their own direction, many students went to Honeydukes first and Jade and her friends were elbow to elbow with other students as they crammed into the shop. The shop was brightly colored and there were what seemed like hundreds of shelves, bowls, and tables of sweets all around the store. Jade and Pansy spent a lot of time in the store and as the girls made their way through, the boys seemed to be finding things of their own they'd like to try. Jade's coin purse jangled against her thigh and she grabbed a few galleons from it when it was time for her to check out. Draco came to her side as the shop owner was gathering her things in bags for her,

"I knew you had a sweet tooth but I guess I didn't fully understand how bad it was until now." He grabbed a wrapped honey-colored toffee from the counter and she put it back for the shop owner to bag.

"It's not all for me." She smiled and then grabbed at something on display in front of the counter, "These too, please." The shop owner gave her a bewildered look but then put the two red lollipops in one of the bags.

"Who else is it for?" Draco asked as Jade grabbed her two bags full of sweets.

"Harry." She told him as she waited for the others to finish getting their things.

"Potter? Why?"
"Because he couldn't come." Jade sighed and Draco smiled,

"I didn't even notice that he wasn't here."

"Really? I'm shocked." As Blaise was finishing up they made their way for the door, "Seriously, Draco, it's not fair that he can't come like the rest of us. So, I'm going to bring him-"

"Everything?" He interrupted her and she rolled her eyes.

"Not everything." Just then, Jade remembered something and stopped in the street and dug through one of the bags.

"You can't wait till we get back to the castle?" Draco asked and she shushed him before turning and presenting Theo with a blood-flavored lollipop.

"For you, Nott." She presented and Theo smiled as he grabbed the offered lollipop.

"You remembered."

"Of course I did. We have a deal." Theo then presented one for Jade and she smiled as she accepted it.

"I know."

"What deal?" Draco asked, looking between the two treats as if he were going to be sick.

"Theo said he really wanted to try a blood-flavored pop so I told him if he did, I would try one too." Jade glanced at Theo and he was staring at the glossy red lollipop. "Go on, then." They all turned to watch him and his cheeks flushed as he raised the lollipop to his mouth. Jade's face twisted in disgust as Theo put the whole thing in his mouth and left it there. Theo fought to keep his face from showing how gross it was but ultimately he just looked very uncomfortable. He took it out and immediately began making awful retching noises. Draco laughed but Jade couldn't laugh, she knew that she would have to do it next and Theo's reaction was just making it worse for her. She didn't think he'd do it. Theo took a deep breath and then grinned.

"It's not that bad."
"Ugh, you're such a liar." Jade groaned as she looked at the candy in her hand. "Draco? Why don't you try it?" She offered and Draco shook his head. "What if I dare you?"

"Do I get to dare you to do something in return?" Draco asked, his interest peaked.

"No…" Jade answered after a second to think, she didn't know what he had in mind but the sinister smile on his face made her question which punishment would be worse. Draco raised his eyebrow as his answer and she sighed before holding up the candy again. She was trying to persuade herself that it wouldn't be that bad, the taste was temporary, she had gotten herself into this… Jade quickly popped it into her mouth. The taste was strong and bitter. It tasted very much like copper and she grimaced before taking it out of her mouth and throwing it far away. "Ugh, never let me make a bet on something so stupid ever again." She told them, Draco's amusement was short-lived and he urged them towards the Three Broomsticks. The Three Broomsticks was a pub and Pansy had been going on about their butterbeer. There were other kids at the pub, the adults seemed to clear out once the place was crowded with students. The service was a bit slow due to how busy it was but Jade didn't mind, none of them did, they were just happy to be out of school. When they did get their butterbeer, it was like nothing Jade had ever had before. The drink came in a warm mug with a large top of whipped cream. She loved it, it tasted like butterscotch. They had planned to make it to the Shrieking Shack that day but once they were full from their lunch and warm butterbeer, they ended up staying at the Three Broomsticks and just talking until they made their way back to the castle with the rest of the visiting students for the Halloween Feast.
