The giant creature that towered over them let out a scream as it was hit one last time and its HP was brought to 0, its voice was deep but it wasn't anywhere near as deep as you would expect the voice of such a massive creature to be.

The giant vines that served as Flowey's arms were covered in bruises, the tubes which were fueling the power of the souls through Flowey's body were no longer doing so, the giant television screen that represented his face now had a large crack on its right side and a few smaller ones on the left. Several of the smaller vines holding the being together had been cut off entirely.

The creature's countless eyes keep blinking as it slowly starts crumbling. Oddly enough whenever a small piece of the monster fell apart, there was no dust like you would expect from a dying monster, but instead a small amount of a red liquid would leak out.

Could it be blood ? Frisk thought that they had read that monsters couldn't bleed due to their bodies being made of magic, and that when a monster was dying, its body would turn into dust.

Frisk didn't know why this was happening, the only thing they knew was that it was over, how long had it been since Flowey took the human souls ? Minutes ? Hours ? They had honestly no idea anymore as time had been looped around so many times since then.

Their body was trembling, exhausted by all the running and dodging they had been doing for who knows how long. It was filled with adrenalin and their senses were on high alert, Frisk was covered in sweat.

When Flowey and Frisk started this battle, it couldn't even be considered as a fight... It was closer to simply being torture, Flowey would start with a violent blow to inflict as much pain as possible and to weaken their movements, then the closer they came to death the weaker the attacks would get and the less damage they dealt. Flowey didn't want them to just die, he wanted to see them suffer with every death.

And whenever they did die, they were brought back by Flowey the very next instant so that he could do the same thing again, but killing them in a different way.

They had been cut in half, burned to death, impaled, crushed, evaporated by a laser, blown away by a bomb, and countless more. they had been torn into bloody pieces over and over and over.

But then, it happened, the very souls that Flowey had been using for their power started to fight back against his control, slowly the attacks got weaker and slower whilst the monster himself was less and less resistant to attacks.

And now, it was on the brink of death.

"No... NO..." the creature said, an angry look on its face.

"This can't be happening..." it said, with a voice filled with despair.

Frisk couldn't help but to smile a bit, it wasn't in their nature to find joy in another's pain, but after what Flowey had done to them, seeing him in this situation felt really satisfying.

"You... YOU..." The giant red and green eyes on the television screen stared right at Frisk

Another thought came into their mind, it was a simple question but difficult to answer : What now ? If Asgore was dead then there was no chance they could stay now, but that also meant they couldn't cross the barrier anymore, how else could they cross it ? The souls ? No, humans can't use other human souls, what would even happen to the souls after Flowey was defeated anyways ? They tried to push these questions away from their mind for now, at this moment the only thing that mattered was that Flowey would no longe-

"...you IDIOT !" Flowey screamed at the direction of Frisk, his body was back to how it was when the fight first began and the now fixed television screen reflected a large smile as if he was holding in laughter

Flowey's words had barely reached their ears that they had already been hit by a laser, before they could even realise what had just happened their soul broke in half and they died once more.

How ? Why ? What just happened ? They only had a split second to wonder before the now regenerated smaller vines tore through their chest and came out from the other side, they died before they could feel much pain.

They quickly tried to move out of the way, but they were still killed by the laser again as it was too fast to dodge.

They didn't even have to time to register that time had been turned back again before they were impaled by the vines again.

Chara could do nothing but watch as Frisk was once again killed over and over, she surprised herself by realising something : she genuinely felt bad for Frisk, who would have thought that she would show empathy for a human ?

When Chara's vision went black after Asriel's body turned into dust, she didn't expect that she would ever wake up again. And yet the very next instant she found herself in the ruins, as if no time had passed at all. She was confused, and even more so once she realised no one could hear or see her anymore, aside from this human named Frisk or ghosts like Napstablook.

When Chara realised she was unable to leave Frisk's side because their souls were bonded, she was displeased to say the least : Being stuck with a human of all people and being unable to interact with anyone else was really not something she looked forward to.

And so Chara had been pretty much forced to tag along in Frisk's journey through the underground, although with time she came to realise they weren't like the humans she knew at all, they always tried to avoid fighting unless they had to and even tried to befriend her, without much success though.

Somehow, Chara slowly started to enjoy watching it unfold, making a few sarcastic comments once in a while and even helping them a few times. As Alphys had said back at the lab : Watching someone all the way through such an adventure really makes you root for them and its not like she had anything else to do.

Chara still hated humankind, that bit had not changed at all, Frisk was just an exception. But right now, Chara's hatred against humanity was overshadowed by an even greater hate : her hate against the being that called himself Flowey the flower.

Humans were supposed to be the violent and cruel ones, monsters were supposed to be better than this ! Monsters were kind and always had good intentions... But Flowey was nothing like this.

Was Flowey even a monster ? Chara had seen him bleed, monster do not bleed and yet what else could Flowey be ? He obviously wasn't a human even though he surely behaved like one, Flowey incarnated everything she hated about humankind, worse even : Flowey had destroyed the monster's only hope at ever gaining freedom by stealing the souls and by...

The thought still hurt her, the Dreemurr's had been the only real family she ever had...

...by killing Asgore, just after everything had been solved, just after he had renounced his ways and said that they could be like a family. For a fraction of a second a darker thought crossed Chara's mind, was she being a hypocrite ? After all wasn't she responsible for the death of... She brushed it off quickly, this was nothing like this ! She was nothing like Flowey !

While Chara was thinking to herself, Flowey had killed Frisk a few more dozens times within the span of a few seconds

Flowey's vines once more hit Frisk, but this time that purposefully avoided the vital areas, and didn't go as deep, they screamed. Then once the vines pulled out two of them reached for them again, one grabbed their right leg and broke it, the second hit them on the side then slashed across their whole body using the small spikes that covered it to leave bloody marks all over them. Flowey let go of them and summoned a sphere of "friendliness pellets" all around them to block their movements.

They fell on their knees and had to catch themselves with both of their hands as their now broken leg couldn't support their weight anymore.

"hee hee hee..." Flowey started laughing again, this time with a voice that sounded much more like his old form did.

"did you really think you could defeat ME ?" Flowey said looking at the bleeding child in front of him.

Frisk could feel their own hot blood slowly running down their chest and their leg, after taking a second to breathe they collected their thoughts and finally took the time to think about what had happened.

Of course... He had just reloaded again... But if Flowey could just LOAD even if he somehow lost, then could he really not lose since he could just undo anything that didn't suit his wishes ?

"I am the GOD of this world, and you ? You're hopeless, hopeless and alone" Flowey continued, talking slower during the second sentence to intensify its meaning.

The truth downed on a Frisk like a massive weight on their shoulders : Flowey was right, winning was literally impossible, there was nothing they could do as long as Flowey could LOAD, they were entirely at his mercy...

Throughout their entire journey through the underground even when everything seemed to be against them and even when everything seemed hopeless, they had always remained determined and always continued forward until they found a way to get through whatever problem they had. But this time ? There was no way out, nothing to do or to try, anything they did just wouldn't matter, so was there even a point in trying ? For the first time they felt... demotivated.

"Golly, thats right, your worthless friends can't save you now" Flowey said with a smirk on his face

"Go ahead, call for help, i dare you" Flowey challenged them in his flower voice, still smirking. It was pretty obvious what Flowey was trying to do now, he wanted to crush Frisk's determination by making them lose hope, and it was starting to work. What was there to do stuck in a time loop of endless pain and suffering where giving up is the only way out ?

"Cry into the darkness !" He said, much louder than his previous sentences were. The traits of Flowey's face started melting again like they had done during his previous monologue.

Whatever Flowey was made of, it seemed to be mostly something liquid or at least something gooey enough to allow it to move around contained within a flower, or in this case a giant creature the size of a house. Once his face was done reorganising itself, it took a more solid form again. Flowey's face now looked like Frisk's which was rather unsettling.

"Mommy, daddy, somebody help !" Flowey imitated Frisk's voice whilst talking. They had closed their eyes to try and take their mind off of their suffering, the pain that they felt especially in their leg was a far bigger concern to them than Flowey's poor mockery of themselves.

They tried to think about something else so that it wouldn't hurt as much but they failed as the only other thing their mind could focus on right now was Flowey.

"You'll see what good it does you !" Once more it looked like Flowey was trying to stop himself from laughing, he said that last sentence in a deeper tone and just as he finished the sphere of "friendliness pellets" around them vanished, they were immediatly replaced by two vines which grabbed them and started lifting them up in the air towards Flowey's face. The vines pressed on their wounds making them hurt even more, they tried to hold back tears but it only made it worse.

Once only a few meters seperated them from the giant screen, the vines holding them stopped moving and held still whilst Flowey was watching them directly in the eyes. They knew that this is what he wanted, they knew that there was no point since nothing could help them, they didn't want to give him the satisfaction of hearing it. But everyone had their limits when it came to what they could handle before breaking down and Frisk's limits were reached long ago.

"P-please, someone... Anyone help me !" they said with a voice that could barely be heard, salty tears rolling down their face and intensifying the pain of the countless bruises that covered their body once they reached them.

"I would help you if i could..." Chara whispered to herself, too low for anyone else to hear it.

A few seconds passed during which the only sound that could be heard was the constant noise emitted by Flowey's body, was it energy being spread around ? Maybe some sort of heart beating, did Flowey have one of those ? Probably not, maybe just the vines cracking whenever they moved ?

After a few more moments of waiting, the large face on the screen turned to static for a fraction of a second only to be replaced by Flowey's old flower face.

"... but nobody came" He slowly announced triumphantly, insisting over every single syllable one by one in his high pitched deformed flower voice. He soon as he was done he immediatly started giggling for a second or two. Several of Flowey's attacks appeared all around them, each one of them being enough to kill them in an instant : pellets, vines, and flamethrowers. Frisk was particularely scared of these last ones, being burned alive was easily the most painful way Flowey had killed them. Since they were already so hurt maybe they would die fast enough to not have to go through this horror again.

"Boy, what a shame ! Nobody else..." Flowey said in his flower voice before changing his normal flower face to a more cruel looking one. "...is gonna get to see you DIE !" His voice got deeper during the second part of the sentence, for the very last word the television screen once again showed the large red and green eyed face.

When he was done talking the pellets and the vines started aiming towards them, the flamethrowers fired very soon after. They closed their eyes in anticipation...

Chara's body was still floating not far away from where Frisk was immobilised by Flowey's vines, but when the attacks started aiming for Frisk she was surprised to see them slow down for an instant and then stop. She looked in the direction where Flowey was standing and for a fraction of a second she thought she had seen the human souls around him, but after merely enough time to blink they were gone, maybe she was imagining things ?

She once again looked at Frisk, they were in a really poor state. Aside from their face they had injuries on pretty much every part of their body and they were bleeding out at an alarming rate. If Flowey wasn't about to kill them again they might just die from blood loss anyways.

Frisk having noticed that the hit was not coming opened their eyes again to see what was going on and noticed the attacks had stopped in their tracks, only to be beheaded by a projectile shaped like a ninja star a second later. Apparently Flowey found it much more entertaining to kill them when they didn't expect what would kill them and when. Flowey did not LOAD immediatly this time, instead he waited a few seconds during which his vines pressed their dead body until it couldn't handle the pressure and it...

Chara looked away when she realised what Flowey was doing, she heard their bones crack when the body gave in. What was the point of that ? They couldn't even feel it since they were already dead, was it really that fun to tear a child's body to shreds ? She felt sick to the stomach even though she didn't have one anymore.

They were back exactly where they were mere seconds ago, held up in the air by vines in front of Flowey's face. The beast decided to let them down, which in its mind meant dropping them immediatly and watch them hit the ground, they did not survive the fall.

This was an earlier save, they were encircled by the sphere of pellets again facing towards Flowey on their knees using their hands to hold themselves, they rolled around to a more confortable position where their now freshly broken leg would hurt less. When their lifted their face up again to look at the monster they saw it opening the jaws of large pink head, the shape of which reminded them of a monster they had met in snowdin who had been decorated as a "joke".

By now they knew the picture, this was going to be the laser again. When they saw that the circle of pellets vanished, their instinct immediatly started ordering them to get up and run for their life, they tried to get up... But they couldn't, everything hurt : their arms were numb, they had only one intact leg and any energy spike they had gotten from adrenalin previously had dissapeared by now. Their body was simply not strong enough to stand anymore.

It was too late for Frisk to dodge, any second now they would be killed again, Chara watched as they struggled to try and lift themselves up with no success. She turned once more to Flowey's direction and once again noticed the colored souls around him, so they really WERE there... What were they trying to do now ? This time however they didn't vanish immediatly, they started slowly circling around him. Flowey's jaws closed as he started using his countless eyes to keep track of the souls's movements.

"T-the souls ? W-what are they doing ? Flowey wondered out loud asking himself the same question as Chara had a few seconds before.

"W-what is happening ?" Flowey exclaimed as the souls started spinning faster and faster.

"H-how ? How could you ?" Some parts of Flowey's body started twitching and changing colors, a few cracks were also starting to appear again.

Frisk noticed that the human souls were all emitting a tiny ray, nearly invisible. Those rays all converged together on Flowey's TV screen head, what were the souls doing this time ? What was happening with Flowey ?

"How could you all..." he said again in his flower voice but this time not as loud, now the creature was once again falling apart. Both Chara and Frisk saw very well as he was deteriorating that Flowey was definitly full of some red substance but it was not liquid enough to be blood, it was something else.

It was at this moment that Chara realised that the souls were struggling against Flowey from the outside of the creature, the entire time they had tried to help from within it but since Flowey was the only being in control of the body and its powers, it meant that Flowey must have allowed the first "rebellion" to happen. It was a fake one, he had done so to demoralise Frisk ! But this time the souls were actually rebelling cutting themselves off from his control and using the power of their own essence to struggle against it. It was at this moment that Chara realised that there was really a chance to win now, it was at this moment that she realised...

"How could you all be so STUPID ?"

It was at this moment that she realised that she really WAS an idiot.

The next instant the souls had vanished again and all she heard was another scream as Frisk was being incinerated again.

They were back at the beginning this time, they looked up to meet the creatures eyes looking at them. As soon as he saw their face, still recovering from their horrible death in the last LOAD, he immediatly started talking again.

"Oh, whats with that expression ?" he said whilst wearing a large smile before shifting back to his red eyed face.

"Don't worry, dying only hurts the first few THOUSAND TIMES !" Flowey started laughing yet again as soon and he said the last two words, he summoned several bombs with his face on it and held them up in the air.

They did not lose any time to start running away from where they would hit, their fighting spirit was back, they now completely unharmed again and they were going to make full usage of it. Or atleast thats what they were hoping for. Reality proved different quite fast when their shoulder was slashed by a vine, cutting part of their shirt. They ducked to avoid a few pellets coming their way only to be hit on the hip by a finger shaped bullet.

They remembered they now had the dagger with them again. After nearly losing a hand to a ninja star, they reached for it and threw it at Flowey. Impressively enough they had thrown it hard enough for it to reach the television screen... But only to end up bouncing back against it and losing its momentum without inflicting any real damage.

1

After seeing them to try to hit him like this, Flowey took a break from attacking once again.

"Don't you get it ? You can't hurt me, there is NOTHING you can do !" The god-like abomination insisted, this time around it seemed it was actually getting quite annoyed at their resistance.

"You don't have anything or anyone ! Those useless souls can't help you now." Frisk knew what he was going to say next, they had reached that conclusion by themselves already. However actually hearing it out loud might prove harder to handle.

"I was LETTING them fight back just to give you back hope so that i could crush your determination further" Chara had understood that a while ago, and apparently Frisk had too since she noticed they didn't seem too surprised by Flowey's words.

However there was one thing she couldn't understand about all of this : When Asriel and Chara shared a body, Asriel was the one in control and his body had a human and a monster soul, she only had a single human soul so she could struggle against Asriel if she wanted but she couldn't take full control of the body by force since Asriel's body had access to more soul power than just Chara. The only way she could have full control was when Asriel agreed to let her have it which meant the power of the souls who desired so was enough to match that of the body as a whole.

But when it came to Flowey ? He claimed that he didn't have a soul, if that was the case then this creature only had 6 human souls in total, so if the 6 human souls tried to rebel against Flowey it should work : They should be able to overtake control of the body and force it to release the souls, turning him back into a flower. So why not ? They had clearly tried to do that a minute ago and yet it had failed, six souls had not been enough.

So why ? Why didn't it work ? This power would have been enough to take over a being with a total of 6 human souls so the answer was simple, Flowey had somehow more than that. But how ? The soul is the culmination of one's being, therefore a creature with a conscience cannot exist without this information. Flowey might not have a soul (assuming he wasn't lying, he does that a lot) but he must at least still have some sort of soul residue in him, otherwise he couldn't possibly be alive. He would just be a normal flower filled with some strange substance.

How much soul power was this hypothetical soul remnant worth ? A fraction of the power a monster soul would have had probably ? As long as it was greater than none at all, then it meant that the human souls would be too weak to defeat Flowey. That had to be it.

"These weaklings cannot do anything but obey to my will." Flowey's face melted again only to reform itself taking the shape of the the human souls. He giggled for a bit after finishing the sentence.

"I am their GOD !" Once again his face changed, this time to imitate Asgore as he had done when mocking Frisk about how it was thanks to them that he was able to kill Asgore and to take the souls in the first place. How dare he mimic the one he had murdered in cold blood when he had his guard down ?

She hated him so much, she needed him gone, out of her sight. She needed him dead, he deserved to pay for what he had done to Asgore, to Frisk and to monsterkind as a whole by ruining their only hope to see the sun. But the only way to do that would be to have more soul power than the six humans could provide and Frisk couldn't do anything since unlike them, they were alive and their soul couldn't express their power through magic.

Since human bodies were mostly made of matter, they couldn't use magic with them. The ability to use their souls directly without body interference to use magic was difficult to obtain in the first place and had been lost to time a very long time long ago anyways. Therefore now the only way a human soul could manifest its power on purpose was if their soul didn't have their own body anymore and that they were already dea-

...

...

"Oh..." she thought.

"Every time you die, your will to keep going is weakened." Flowey stated as Frisk took a few steps back, their dagger had fallen back to the ground a few meters in front of them but they feared that they would immediatly be killed again if they tried to reach for it.

"Until eventually, you will learn when to QUIT !" They were looking left and right over and over, usually this type of sentence was followed by their death shortly afterwards. But this time it didn't seem like it was happening yet.

"And let ME inherit permanant control of the timeline again !" There it was, several vines rose from the ground again and they mentally prepared themselves to start dodging again.

"even if this means killing you ONE MILLION TIMES !" A wave of pellets rushed towards them but they were quite easy to avoid, then the vines fired in their direction but they had seen it coming and avoided it as well. They faced towards him gain just to see a swarm of ninja stars about to hit them, they were hit on the wrist by one of them and were barely able to avoid another one that was about to cut straight through their skull by jumping on the right at the last second but falling over in the process. Landing straight into the trajectory of where Flowey's laser was about to fire.

Suddenly, they felt something burning. However this time it wasn't coming from their body but from their very soul.

Something inside them was struggling, that burning feeling was similar to what they felt like when they tried to LOAD themselves, but weaker. Their soul started slightly glowing, whatever was happening inside it was getting stronger and stronger. What was happening to it ? Soon they realised that it wasn't actually coming from their soul, but rather from something that existed within their soul.

A small ray appeared, coming from their soul. Exactly like the rays that came from the six human souls when they started circling around Flowey. They took a look to their right, following with their eyes the direction in which the ray was heading.

Chara. The other end of the ray stopped exactly where Chara was floating just above the ground. Her eyes were closed and she seemed to be concentrated... Was Chara the one doing this ? Well they weren't doing anything, not that they knew of at least so that appeared to be the most likely option.

Another ray appeared from their soul, this time it was headed towards Flowey. It reached them just as the laser fired... Only for it to vanish after crossing half the distance between Flowey and Frisk as the six human souls yet again appeared in circles around his TV screen face.

"W-what ? H-how did you... ?" The creature asked out loud, oh he was doing this again they thought. Had he not tricked them enough time ?

"Well i'll just..." Flowey sounded unsure of what he was saying this time, he always talked confidently because he already knew how everything would play out. But here he seemed like he was improvising, was this not another one of his games ?

LOAD FAILED

"Wh... Where are my powers ?" Something that looked like sweat stared rolling on Flowey's face. It was working ! She needed to keep going, she thought about how much she hated Flowey, how much suffering he caused and how determined she was to stop him.

Flowey eyed up the souls again but didn't notice the seventh ray coming from Frisk's body. "H-how are they doing this ? T-they aren't strong enough to-"

The creature's body started falling apart and changing colors again, just as it happened the burning feeling in Frisk's soul intensified and it glew brighter, Flowey noticed it.

"NO ! NO ! YOU CAN'T DO THAT ! THIS SHOULDN'T BE POSSIBLE" His voice sounded different, it was much more distorded and also much deeper. The TV screen now showed a black background where a humanoid face wiggled. His body started decomposing faster and faster, one of his two large arms fell off and dissapeared leaving only a few red stains behind.

LOAD FAILED

"STOP IT !" Frisk noticed that Flowey was actually screaming this time, he was in total panic. Chara's presence was one thing that he couldn't possibly be aware of, and therefore he had not planned for this. He had not planned for there to be seven dead children using their power to take him down rather than six.

LOAD FAILED

"STOP IT !" STOOOOPPPP !"

The beast fell to the ground as the tubes that supported it were destroyed, and now it was visibly getting smaller in real time as the body lost control of the souls that gave it its form. The rays intensified one last time, the point where they converged started to emit a blinding white light. It grew and grew until they had to close their eyes as they couldn't support it anymore.

A few seconds passed and everything slowly went silent, eventually the light dissipated and they opened their eyes again. They were near the barrier again, in a black room where only a bed of grass stood out. Flowey stood in the middle of it, he was now a flower again. He was facing the ground hiding his face, several of his petals had small cuts on them. They took a few steps towards him and noticed a familiar object right next to them. The dagger.

They grabbed it, then they heard a familiar voice from behind them.

"Kill him"

They completely agreed with her, they wanted to kill him, they wanted to get revenge for everything. They took a few more steps and lowered themselves at his level, Flowey was now within their reach and he still hadn't moved at all.

They raised the dagger, they were going to do it, they were going to... To kill him... To kill Flowey... Their hand started shaking in the air, unmoving. Any second now, any second... Why was this so hard ? Just one movement is all it would take and it would be over. And yet somehow they were still having second thoughts, after all this was killing someone. This was ridiculous, this horrible creature was a murderer a hundred times over, a manipulator, he had literally just tortured them ! And yet...

"Why are you hesitating ?" They almost jumped out of their skin when the flower started speaking.

"Yes, why are you ? Have you forgotten what he's done already ?" They heard Chara ask, they didn't know the answer to that question. They really want to kill him as well.

"Do you think i'll change ? Do you think i'll learn anything from this ? HAH ! Of course not !" What ? They weren't sure what they expected him to say, but it wasn't this. Was he really trying to talk them into killing him ?

A few more tense seconds passed.

"He killed my father !" That was not something they expected to hear from Chara either, she never talked about anything to do with her past. She remained completely silent even when Frisk learned about the story of the first fallen human which was obviously her. You could feel the pain in Chara's voice. It felt aggressive which felt really strange to them as well as Chara was normally a very reserved and introverted person as far as they knew.

Flowey turned his head towards them, revealing an injured face in addition to the visible damage to his petals.

"In this world, its kill or be killed" He repeated his motto, "If you let me live, i'll come back and i'll kill you." his voice was completely emotionless, he stood up after the last few words and looked at them in the eyes.

This was ridiculous, Frisk wanted to kill Flowey, Chara wanted Frisk to kill Flowey and Flowey wanted to be killed by Frisk and yet they just couldn't do it. What was wrong with them ?

"I will murder everyone !" Flowey hissed, he leaned forward to get closer to Frisk's weapon, obviously trying to get them to use it.

"K-kill him... Please" Chara asked again, this time she sounded like she was going to cry. How did her mood swing so fast ? They rose their hand holding the dagger again, one dagger to get rid of one weed. Why couldn't it be so easy ? Their hand trembled again, their arm started to get tired from being held up.

"I will torture everyone you love !" Flowey leaned forward again, his stem now touching the dagger, some dark red liquid started to leak from his eyes and from a few of his injuries.

They... They couldn't... They just couldn't, why was it so hard ? Flowey had no remorse when he tortured them and killed them countless times, not a single second thought so why was their mind so resilient to the idea of killing him ?

"Why ?" Flowey asked, leaning back to his old spot.

"Yes, why ?" Chara asked.

They still didn't know the answer.

"WHY ?" Flowey asked again, looking deeply annoyed.

"Why do you... insist on sparing me ?" Now he looked genuinely confused.

They weren't, they wanted him dead still but they simply didn't have the courage to kill him themselves...

"I don't understand... i don't understand..." He said as they lowered the dagger and relieved their tired arm, they knew they wouldn't be able to do it. Flowey sighed in defeat.

"I just can't understand..." And with those words Flowey dug himself in the grass and vanished. He had escaped, he had done all of that and he was getting away with it with no consequences whatsoever.

They dropped the dagger and immediatly hid their face in their knees in shame as they started crying, they expected Chara to say something but they only heard the sound of their cries as tears rolled down their face.

They stayed like this for some time, until eventually they stopped sobbing. For the first time since Flowey had left, they heard her ask them something : "What now ?" They thought about it for a second, they had asked themselves this when Flowey first pretended to be defeated but now they had an actual answer to it. It was the only thing left for them to do now.

They got up, without saying a word, and started walking forward until the reached the barrier. Then they looked back staring at Chara, they could do it. In order to cross the barrier not even a human soul was strong enough, it required at least a human soul and a monster soul. So this was why a human stuck in the underground couldn't leave unless they killed a boss monster and took its soul, but they didn't need to do that. Their body already had more soul power than just a single human soul, it had two human souls : Theirs and Chara's.

They took a few more steps and they were blinded by the sunlight as they heard the birds chirping.
