AN: Hello again! Hope you liked the story so far, because this is the penultimate chapter! Yay! Enjoy!
Chapter 5: Advise
5 days since Aggie returned, she's sitting on the couch in the living room, looking at one of Norman's movie disk. She's thinking about something, something quite important. Her mind is in a deep thought. First she thought about the little movie disk on her hand, and then she thought about the one time she watched it with Norman, she recalled hugging him in panic, then she thought about him. She couldn't stop thinking about him lately, and she doesn't know why. She also realised that she felt something whenever she's close to him. She wants to know what this is, she needs someone to convince her.
She needs help.
And she only knows one person that can help her with this, Courtney.
She knocked on the door.
"Courtney? It's me, Aggie. Are you there?"
"Aggie?" the door opened and from inside came Courtney. She still wears her pink training suit, her pink hair band, and her pink shoes. "What is it?"
"I need help with something. Personal." Courtney stared into Aggie's eyes, and then moved aside.
"Come in."
Aggie entered a room that wasn't so different to Courtney's clothing. Pink. Courtney sat on her bed and went straight to the point.
"Okay, what do you need help with? Adapting with the new world? Adapting with the new family? School – wait no you're not in school yet, uhh, some romantic stuff? No, you haven't met anyone yet. Oh, puberty, is it that?" Courtney looked enthusiastic, and thought of more possibilities, but Aggie looked kinda astonished. One of Courtney's guess was correct.
"Uuhh, actually, it is a romantic issue." Courtney suddenly stopped her thinking, and simply said "huh". She looked at Aggie, and suddenly she understands everything.
"Ooooohh, you like Norman don't you?"
Aggie froze and blushed slightly. She suddenly felt that this was a bad idea.
"What? No! Uh, yes… but as a friend. He's just a friend. It's not like I always feel happy around him, or that I wait for him to come home after school, or that I want to hug him forever and feel the warmth. And I definitely do not stay up at night thinking about him."
Courtney looked Aggie with a look that made Aggie sure Courtney is unconvinced. She let out a sarcastic "Yeah, sure."
Aggie looked down and sighed. "Alright, I lose. Yeah, that's the thing, I've been unable to get my mind from him lately. Sometimes I just want to be with him, even if that's for no reason.
"Aggie, you're definitely having a crush on him." Courtney smirked victoriously.
She got confused. "A what?" Aggie's slang term knowledge was nearly zero.
"A crush. It means you like someone." Aggie was dumbfounded, her eyes stared straight, her mind drifted off again.
"I… like him. But… isn't that bad?" Courtney's smile went away, but she had expected this. "Like, I just got here and I already like him? But he's my best friend. We're still 12, I don't know anything about the culture here, and he's probably got someone too, and-"
"Listen, Aggie. If you like Norman, it's fine. It's not the first time you met him, your age shouldn't get in the way, and no, Norman doesn't have a girlfriend. If he has a girlfriend I'd stop flirting guys for 2 weeks. Wait, no, a week, yeah."
"But, we're related." Said Aggie
"You're related like 12 times removed. That's a very thin line." Aggie was still unsure about it, Courtney tried to convince her again. "Listen Aggie, the point is, if you like Norman, it's fine I fully support it. I wont get in the way. It's up to you: how do you want this end to up like?"
"Hey Norman, what are you thinking about?"
Norman and Neil are at a park. They had gotten there after school, and Norman is in a deep thought again.
"What? Oh nothing Neil, nothing." Neil wasn't quite sure, but he decided to keep Norman's privacy and didn't ask further, when Norman suddenly asked him something.
"Hey Neil, what do you think about Aggie?"
"Me? I think she's a great friend. You know, very nice, also smart, she adapts quickly to the modern world."
"For me, she's like an angle. No trace of her being a raging witch spirit a year ago. She wouldn't hurt a fly, and she always goes everywhere with a smile. If only I knew all these last year." Neil was quite surprised by Norman's sentence, and he feels something going on. Norman wasn't exactly conscious when he said that. He in turn asks Norman.
"Do you think she looks good?"
"Oh she's the most beautiful girl I've ever seen. Her soft skin, her blue eyes, and her long soft hair. She's a pretty ghost. She looks perfect in that puritan dress, her smile is hypnotizing."
Neil looked at Norman with a teasing look, and a mischievous smile.
"I think someone is in love…" Norman was startled with a blush. His expression was a little angry.
"What? No, Neil, what? I'm not in love! What are you talking about?"
"Heh, it's so clear that you have a crush Norman, you can't hide it."
Norman was blushing deeply, and he was angry about it. He doesn't have a crush on Aggie, she's his relative, and she has been dead for 300 years.
"Neil I DON'T have a crush on Aggie. She may be nice and pretty and all that, but she is still my relative."
"Distant relative." Corrected Neil. Norman sighed and looked at the ground. "Norman, she's from 1702, your relation is very thin, and you can't be her grandson, because she didn't have any children."
"Yeah so? She's been dead for 300 years, remember?"
"But she's still 12, physically and mentally. You can love her if you want to, it's fine. If you need any advice, just come to me."
Norman's heart was lighted, Neil had made him feel better. He managed to put up a smile.
"To you, heh sure." Norman stopped to think, about Aggie, about his feelings, then he looked at Neil and asked him.
"Neil, can you do me a favour?"
AN: And there you go, the fifth chapter. Tomorrow I'll post the sixth and final chapter, noooo! Haha, but seriously, I hope you enjoyed it so far. I still enjoy it even today, 3 years after, although there's some parts I would've liked to change. But I hope you liked it as much as I do, or even more.
