Childhood is a wonderful thing. The feeling that everything is a new experience can lead to great things and important moments that shape who we are. Its so powerful that its almost like a drug, you leave and then the bad aspects of reality rears its ugly head. Some people want to stay in childhood and cling to even the smallest memories they have. At the moment Steph just wished she was literally anywhere else than where she was now.
In rows identical cubicles it was hard to tell which was which, the only difference being the decorations the people inside put. Steph's desk was fairly low-key, mostly pictures of her old dog and the like. "Low-key" could applied to Steph's look in general: short brown hair, plain white shirt, and black pants. Black lipstick was the only thing that stood out, but that was more of a "eh why not" decision rather than a statement. She sat in her chair, mildly spinning around to pass the time, with one thought in one her mind repeated over and over.
A few more hours, that's all you have before you get out of this shithole and you get to see him.
With that repeated and ingrained in her brain Steph found herself in an almost zen state of mind. It was almost thoughtless, like she was just letting the room give off vibes. As she slouched down, phone in hand, she felt like everything was perfect, like nothing could ruin her day. Then a rough tapping was heard from behind the cubicle.
Oh god, not him.
Steph cautiously peaked from her cubicle to see a man in his thirties with slicked back black hair and a fancy suit, looking at her with a smug expression.
"Hello Beth."
Resisting the growing urge to punch the man in front of her so hard she could hear his nose crunch Steph settled for a loud sigh that got the message across.
"Its Steph, Ryan. Why are you here?"
Ryan smiled, obviously amused by the fact that her feelings of annoyance that were clearly directed at him.
"Just figured I'd check to see how you're doing, get a good sense of your area and headspace" said Ryan.
"Yeah you and I both know that's bullshit" Steph said bluntly.
Ryan grasped his stomach in mock surprise, an exaggerated look of shock on his face.
"Why I would never! I can't believe you would use such such strong language in front of me. After all... I am your superior."
Once again Steph wanted to punch that smirk off his face but relented and took deep breaths before resuming the conversation.
"Look, just tell me why you came" said Steph.
"Ok, I was wondering why you didn't get any work done yesterday."
"...It was Easter" said Steph, as if it was immediately obvious.
"Were you at church?" asked Ryan.
"...No" Steph admitted.
"Do you have any relatives or siblings who wanted you to join on an egg hunt or something similar?" asked Ryan, his voice firm.
"No."
"Then you had no reason not to simply sit down and get work done. And now you might want to pull an all nighter if you even intend on getting current, because believe me, you have a lot to catch up on" Ryan said in a smug tone.
At this point all Steph could do was stare at Ryan with a burning intensity, like her eyes were on fire and intended to spit it at him. Taking a deep breath Steph leaned her head back, and came face to face with Ryan, a bored expression on her face.
"I can't say why, but today is a special day for me. If I just didn't have to worry about work today I promise I'll be double hard about work tomorrow" said Steph.
Ryan almost seemed to ponder this for a moment, but instantly went back to his usual look.
"Frankly I don't give a shit. You're in my office, you work. I don't care if there's a fucking earthquake or something, if you want this job you have to earn it. no exceptions."
Seeing Frank's look of utter disgust Steph internally cringed. Trying her best not to immediately snap and take out all her anger on him she decided to go with a more sophisticated and reasonable response.
"Why are you such an asshole?"
Ryan seemed to be almost amused by this, as shown by the growing smirk on his face.
"First off, language. Second off, I'm pretty close to being your boss so I'd be careful if I were you. Third, at least I'm not a pussy."
Not even knowing if his hypocrisy was intentional or not Steph just sat there, taking in his words. Steph sighed.
"Ok fine you win, I'll stay up all night and get this done. Just... leave me alone, let me do this. Please" Steph said, her voices inches away from desperation.
Ryan actually seemed to think about it, which was a shock. As he rubbed his hands on his chin in thought all Steph could do was stare at the thought process in front of her, hoping in vain it would end in her favor. As Ryan looked at her he made his final decision.
"Fine. You go back to your little work, but I better be really impressed tomorrow, or your ass is on the line."
As Ryan began to leave Steph was shocked by Ryan's display of maturity (for him that is), only for her to roll her eyes and groan when she saw he was giving her the finger as he was walking. As soon as Steph looked at her computer she wanted more than anything to have a beer in her hand.
It was time to work.
Like a blast of lightning Steph worked fast and furiously on what was in front of her. Driven by the sole goal to get home and talk to a friend she ran through things like hell, typos be damned. Speeding through the work Steph felt adrenaline rushing through her, like her entire body was on fire. As soon as the work was finished the dark of the night began to creep in and she was panting wildly. Triumphantly she raised her arm in the air as if to say "I fucking did it!" After smirking back at Ryan Steph left for her car, leaving the building in her dust as quick as possible. Getting out every step towards her house felt like an eternity, knowing what was inside. As soon as she reached the door and opened with hesitation, tiptoeing inside. She had a moderate two story house, nicely decorated with paintings hung up. Going to the kitchen Steph immediately saw what she had wanted all day long: beer. Grabbing a can she heard a chuckle and a familiar voice behind her.
"You're a bit late. Going for the important stuff obviously."
Turning around Steph saw a familiar face that most people would be completely shocked to see: the easter bunny, known as E. Aster Bunnymund to be exact. Six feet tall, with blue fur, and coated with boomerangs, this was undeniably inhuman. Steph seemed to show no feelings of shock and simply smirked.
"Its been ten years, gotta celebrate somehow" she replied.
Bunnymund simply smirked, signaling the beginning of the night.
An explanation is probably in order.
Ten years ago a young Steph heard a bump in the night and went down to check. With a flashlight in hand she found something unexpected: the easter bunny. Like a deer caught in headlights Bunnymund couldn't move, and was subjected to the girl's MANY questions. Through this, a surprising friendship was born, one with a being who was supposed to be imaginary and the girl who hung on to his every word, but spoke about her life and problems just as much. Over the years Bunnymund would come to her house and the two would just talk, and they decided to hold a yearly hangout on the day after Easter, as it wouldn't be a smart idea to do it exactly on Easter given how busy the rabbit got. And that is how Steph currently found herself being silently judged by the easter bunny for her excessive amount of beer.
"What? I had a shitty day ok?" Steph said in annoyance.
Bunnymund simply chuckled and began to walk away but as soon as he did Steph stood there. A question in mind, she began to speak.
"Hey... so the other guardians... they know what beer is?" asked Steph.
An eyebrow raised, Bunnymund simply stared.
"...What?"
Unaffected by the pooka's clear disturbed feelings and the sense of being caught off guard Steph simply continued, swishing around her beer as her arm moved with her to emphasize her talking.
"Do they know what beer is?" Steph asked like it was obvious.
Bunnymund wasn't sure how to respond, and his look of confusion reflected that, until a remark came to mind, a smirk appearing on his furry face.
"What do you think the parents drink that makes it easier for them to not notice me?" Bunnymund replied.
"So do you wish I had it that night?" Steph asked with a smirk.
Bunnymund smiled.
"Nah, wish you weren't such a light sleeper though" said Bunnymund.
Steph laughed internally at this. The quick skills of the easter bunny, easily diffused by one kid who couldn't sleep.
"So... do any of the guardians drink? You say North is this big guy with muscles who's always jolly, so does beer like heighten that?" asked Steph.
"Nah most of them, me included, are too busy to work to do that" said Bunnymund.
"You said Jack doesn't really work, so does he drink?"
Immediately Bunnymund's eyes widened in horror, and his expression went from one of casualness to one of terror and anger. He got in front of Steph, a finger in her face.
"I have fought Pitch and been completely forgotten, but THAT is the most terrifying thing I have ever thought of. NEVER suggest anything like that again, or you will pay" Bunnymund said in a tone that had both anger and terror behind it.
"Jesus man, a no is enough. Side note I call bullshit on you being too busy, you hide eggs on a single day. What do you do, scout out houses?" Steph asked sarcastically.
"You'd want the one day a year too you..." Bunnymund said in a sulky tone, the following word unintelligible under his breath.
Instead of taking the rabbit's words as an insult Steph simply raised her beer towards him.
"Amen man, amen. I mean my job... nah."
Any look of resentment on Bunnymund's face faded as he looked at Steph and it became clear that she was hiding something. Taking on a more wondering and casual stance Bunnymund looked at Steph.
"What?" asked Bunnymund.
"Its... its nothing. That's not what today is about anyways" said Steph.
"Then what is today about?"
"Its about... I don't know, chilling with a giant rabbit. This shit's special to me you know? Easter is your special day, this is mine. I care about this, ok?"
With only four words Bunnymund completely surprised Steph.
"You think I don't?"
With the rabbit's words Steph stood completely still. Various emotions ran through her, with anxiety, defeat, and surprise reigning supreme. Steph looked up at Bunnymund, a look of confusion on her face.
"Why? I mean yeah I saw you but..."
Before Steph could finish a paw was raised in front of her.
"Let me stop you right there. Most kids, they stop believing in me at like 10. You were 15 when you saw me, and you only could have seen me if you believed. That is incredible, and that's why I like you, you've got that spark" said Bunnymund.
Steph felt like her healt was melting, touched by the rabbit's words. However that soon turned to sadness as she slumped down in her chair.
"Its just... nope. Nope, nope, not doing it" said Steph.
"This again?" Bunnymund asked, annoyed.
"I'm not venting to the easter bunny! This is exactly what I wanted to avoid! My life fucking sucks, ok? Is that what you wanted? My supervisor is a dick, work keeps piling up, and I feel dead inside. I fucking hate it. Wanted to avoid that shit but here I am, venting my guts out. This whole adult shit... it kinda sucks, you know? I'm not expecting fame or anything I just feel like I shouldn't have to stuff down my feelings just so some condescending prick won't kick me out on the street. God I probably ruined the vibe, I'm sorry man."
As Steph knew Bunnymund had a very brash personality. He spoke his mind and was often annoyed by others, especially North and Jack Frost. With that in mind she did not at all expect what Bunnymund to do next, or what he said.
Bunnymund sighed and began to speak.
"Kid... you have potential. You may feel like there's no hope left, but even I can see some left, and all it needs is a booster, ya know? Some guidance, digging it out of a hole."
Steph chuckled at that, a light smile entering her face.
"God you say that like it needs rescuing or something" said Steph.
Like the girl in front of him Bunnymund chuckled and lightly smiled in response.
"Yeah well I'm not wrong. What I'm saying is... life isn't complete shit. Ya gotta take the good, and the bad. Sometimes bad seems almost life ending, but that just makes the good stand out more. I'm not great at this happy joy stuff, that's North and Frost's thing, but I know it when I see it, and ya still got it. Trust me on that."
Steph sighed deeply.
"Ok so its kind of a pick me up, but I still have this shitty job. I can't just quit, Ryan would make sure no one else would hire me."
A devious smirk entered the pooka's face.
"I would" said Bunnymund.
Steph snorted in response.
"Yeah well you're not a big businessman and working one day a year doesn't exactly pay rent."
"But I've been thinking, I could use a partner" replied Bunnymund.
Bunnymund's words hit Steph like a car crash. Her eyes widened, and she wanted to rub her ears to see if she really heard what she thought she did.
"You're... you're serious?" asked Steph in disbelief.
"Damn straight. I've been doing this for centuries but a little help wouldn't hurt. Look, you know me better than anyone, and you seem the least pissed off when you're with me. Think about it, just two friends painting eggs."
Past the point of shock since she had accepted a giant rabbit wanted him to help her make eggs, Steph stared at Bunnymund straight in the eye with an eyebrow raised. The two looked back to back, Bunnymund remaining calm even as Steph's stare deepened. Seeing he was serious Steph leaned back and put her fingers to her chin in thought. As thoughts came in she leaned towards Bunnymund and began to speak.
"Ok, let's say, hypothetically, I help you with the eggs. How would I make money for the rest of the year?" asked Steph.
Genuine thought seemed to go through Bunnymund as his brows furrowed. As soon as a thought entered his mind his eyes widened. The ramifications of this choice would be huge, and he needed to know how much Steph wanted things to change before he went through it. Sighing, Bunnymund looked at Steph directly in the eyes.
"Look, if I had a chance to change things directly so that you wouldn't even have to have a job here or in general and could be with me full time, but with serious changes, would you take it?" asked Bunnymund.
Steph looked at Bunnymund with a suspicious expression, wondering just what he meant.
"As easy as it would be to say fuck you to Ryan and leave I gotta ask, just how big a change are we talking here?" asked Steph.
A rare move occured. In all of her ten years knowing Bunnymund Steph saw a rabbit who was confident, spoke his mind, and occasionally calm. Never in those ten years did she ever see the nervous look that the rabbit in front of her currently had.
"I... I think the man in the moon thinks you could help with... something else. Look, if you say yes to this, you can never go back to your job, or even the way things were. It will just be us, ok? This is a serious thing, so do you want to be my partner?" asked Bunnymund.
Shocked by the urgency Steph couldn't help but stare. As she thought it over she came to a conclusion.
"Yeah. I do. I've known you for ten years and my life sucks, I'm game" said Steph, her voice radiating "fuck it why not" energy.
Bunnymund let out a deep breath, another uncharacteristic motion.
"Ok. Just... just follow me" said Bunnymund
Due to the possibilities he saw Bunnymund felt adrenaline running through him, and hopped towards the front of the room. As soon as he got there he opened the door, a creak echoing throughout the room. Darting his head towards outside he motioned to Steph, who groaned before getting up.
"This better be an improvement over Ryan" Steph grumbled.
==xx==
As soon as Steph walked out she clutched her arms tightly, feeling the cold touch her skin even through the layers of fabric she wore. Not feeling too happy about going out at night and almost freezing she glared at Bunnymund.
"So why are we here?" asked Steph.
"We're here to see if the man in the moon makes his decision. Now, you see that moon up there?"
Steph looked and felt compelled, her emotions feeling enhanced. In front of her was a full moon, its light shining amidst the dark.
"Its beautiful" Steph said in awe.
"It'll decide whether or not you're right for this. Now, do you hear any voices?" asked Bunnymund.
Steph closed her eyes, focusing on any possible noise. As soon as she did so she felt a soft voice coming into her ears, although the words were too quiet to be understood.
"Yeah, I do" said Steph.
"Ok, then keep your eyes closed, listen to the voice, let the light guide you, and you should feel a slight pinch. Its all natural and I'll explain everything after" said Bunnymund.
The vagueness of the rabbit's words made Steph question his motives, but those thoughts were pushed away when she remembered who was talking to her. Doing as he said Steph listened carefully, and felt a clearer voice.
Walk forth
Obeying the voice Steph began to walk, feeling as though she was being guided by an invisible force. Each step made her feel more comfortable, like this was meant to happen. She suddenly stopped, feeling as though she had reached her destination she felt a pinch, just as Bunnymund had said. It felt like something was happening to her, but in a natural way. Something new began to trail over her body, as certain appendages grew and new ones formed. All of it felt like a light touch and nothing painful or terrifying. It all felt like this was meant to happen. As soon as it finished she opened her eyes, feeling like there was a whole new world in front of her. Feeling tired she moved her mouth around and stretched, and immediately felt like something was off. This was confirmed by the look of shock and awe on Bunnymund's face.
"He... he chose you. You're a guardian" Bunnymund said quietly.
Although it was said in a voice so low no one could hear Steph picked up on the rabbit's comment perfectly, and even stranger felt that her ears had changed place. Knowing exactly what a guardian was Steph felt like something seriously different had indeed happened.
"Bunny... what happened to me?" Steph asked slowly.
"You uh... you might want to look down" said Bunnymund.
Doing as he said Steph looked down, but what she saw was not at all what she expected. Instead of her usual pants Steph saw a brown furry stomach, with two rabbit legs at the bottom. Terrified and breathing heavily Steph looked at her hands and her terror was confirmed for instead of her usual hands... she saw paws.
"Bunny... I want a mirror" Steph said in a low voice.
"I..." Bunnymund stuttered.
"Mirrow, now" Steph demanded.
Sighing Bunnymund motioned her to go back inside and they entered the house. Bunnymund sat down, sighing.
"Ok, you deserve an explanation before you see yourself. I told you that if this happened you would never be able to go back, and this is why. I think the man in the moon saw that we work well together, knew you were in a bad situation, and decided to put in the mirror. To put it simply... he made another easter bunny" Bunnymund explained.
Despite what she saw Steph refused to believe this, until she looked in the mirror and no longer saw herself. Now standing in her reflection was a six foot tall brown rabbit. Seeing she had completely changed she did the first thing that came to her mind: an ear piercing scream.
As her voice vibrated around the room at the highest level possible Bunnymund attempted to cover his ears, which was not an easy task. As soon as she finished Steph found herself breathing heavily and began to talk to herself.
"Ok, so you're the easter bunny now. You know the easter bunny, he's pretty chill. He said something about being a guardian, so you'll protect kids or some shit. Kids are nice, you can do that. You have fur, ok. Lots of animals have fur, they seem pretty happy with it. Wait am I seriously comparing myself to an animal?"
"Great rationalization" said a familiar voice with a hint of snark.
Steph turned to see Bunnymund across the room, a smirk on his face.
"I heard you perfectly... I could never hear you perfectly" Steph said in shock.
"Yeah you might want to look up" replied Bunnymund.
Heeding the rabbit's words and feeling a brand new appendage Steph looked up and saw two brown floppy ears on the top of her head.
"I... I have rabbit ears, ok. And my bra fell off. Wait what? Oh god" Steph said in horror before covering her chest.
"Yeah we might need a bit of armor for that. But seriously, look at the new you. Bit biased but I'd say it has its advantages" said Bunnymund.
Feeling a mix of shock and curiosity Steph took a look at the new her. In her new form Steph couldn't help but notice that she looked almost... graceful. Anatomy wise she was like a female Bunnymund, with a similar build and look. Her fur was soft and smooth, with a beautiful color that shined brightly. Her purple eyes complimented her now fur covered body, shining like two diamonds. As she had already seen long floppy ears appeared at the top of her head, and with them she felt like she could hear more than she ever could before. Her nose was now a pink stub which led into the center of a white muzzle. Her "exposed materials" were somewhat covered by an area she'd call "chest fluff." Although there were now long whiskers protruding from her cheeks they felt natural, like they were meant to be there. Like Bunnymund she had markings all over her body, and figured it was an Easter bunny thing. All Steph could muster was a feeling of awe at her new state.
"So this is... kinda cool" said Steph
Testing out her new body she moved, and her fur seemed to jiggle with her. Smirking she became fond of her appearance.
"Man that's a lot of fur. Nice."
Suddenly she felt a round cotton ball from behind. Clutching her backside her suspicions were confirmed.
"Oh my god I have a tail."
Picking up on an uncomfortable aura Steph turned around to see Bunnymund sitting down, an expression of uncertainty on his face.
"Ok thanks to these big things I can basically tell you're moping, and there's no logical way I should be able to tell that."
"I was just um... wondering something. How do you feel?" asked Bunnymund.
With that Steph's expression perked up, a smile on her face.
"Honestly... I love it. This makes me free, you know? Fur is comfy, its like something I never knew I needed. I can feel so much more, like exactly now I can hear a frog pissing. I didn't want to hear that but hey its new. This is just... wow. For once I actually feel like everything's going great" Steph said with a smile.
With a curious glance Bunnymund began to walk around Steph, looking over the new her.
"Well then, let's see how much of a bunny you are" Bunnymund said with a devillish smile.
All Steph could do was stand there, thoughts of confusion and wonder of what was happening flooding her mind. Just as she was beginning to think of a conclusion she felt two paws on her shoulders and couldn't help but get caught up in the sensation. It all felt so good like a friend comforting her. Fingers ran across her new body, getting behind the fur to get the hard to scratch places, making for even more comfort. As the rubs got even deeper she felt her nose twitching in excitement. Feeling the joyous sensation running over she couldn't take it and her foot began stamping on the floor, noises of delight coming through.
"That's good that's good" Steph said in an out of breath voice.
Although it was as quiet as it could get Steph was able to detect a light laugh behind her from Bunnymund.
"You're enjoying the Easter Bunny thing I see" Bunnymund said with a hint of sarcasm.
"And you're enjoying the touch pervert" Steph shot back with a smile on her face.
And now three unexpected Bunnymund behaviors had happened that day. The latest: a long hearty laugh from the rabbit.
"There she is, there's the smartass who makes me regret coming over" said Bunnymund.
"Its a gift" Steph replied.
Sighing Steph's face took on a more serious expression, a look of uncertainty showing even as the fur seemed to bury her.
"So you said I'm a guardian now and from what you've told me that's like incredibly important... why do you think I was chosen?" asked Steph.
Bunnymund sighed.
"You wanna know why? I think its because he saw potential. When we're together I have a good time. There are two big days for me, Easter... and this. You know why? You're a shit talker. You don't put up with bullshit and you see me as a person, not just a fantasy being. And added to that... you bust my balls. And that makes for a good night."
A smile appeared on Steph's face, and she began thinking. Several images ran though her mind: Ryan talking down to her, the constant pressure, and something unexpected: the night she saw Bunnymund. A giant rabbit appearing in front of her as shock ran through her face, but she felt an inability to move away. A warm smile appeared on the rabbit's face, and that led her to walk towards him. As questions ran through her mind and each one was spoken a conversation ran through the room, both person contributing. As the memory ended a realization came to Steph.
"I get why I was chosen. I needed joy" said Steph, her voice sounding the most mature it had ever been.
"Huh?" Bunnymund replied, the opposite occuring.
"Think about it, I'm stuck in a shitty job, you come along with an opportunity, and I get a big change, albeit one that doesn't exactly keep me human. But you know what? If being the easter bunny means making sure kids have the best childhood possible and chilling with a friend then fuck it I'm in. I make some kids happy and I get happy as well, win win. I got one question though... is there I can get a cooler tail?"
"Really?" Bunnymund asked in disbelief.
"I'm serious, most animals have the long tails that wag and shit and this is a small thing that probably won't have show any expression. I don't know maybe a dog tail or something would be cooler, a big one."
Bunnymund's stance visibly tensed.
"First off, NEVER talk about dogs with me, vicious things they are. Secondly... welcome aboard mate" said Bunnymund, arms wide.
Steph gasped, her entire perception of Bunnymund being challenged with just one notion. As this was clearly meant for a hug Steph couldn't help but feel shocked. Never did she expect something like this... but in a way she loved it. Walking towards Bunnymund with a smile on her face she welcomed the rabbit's hug, getting lost in his fur. It felt so soft and welcoming, and now she had her own. Being covered in fur and having genuine affection shown by the only other person she knew with the same body structure, what a world. Looking up at Bunnymund she smiled.
"So what, does easter bunny training start now?" asked Steph.
Bunnymund smiled.
"Nah, that can start tomorrow. This is our night, and its not over yet. So... what do you want to do for the last few hours of the night?" asked Bunnymund.
Steph took a fair amount of time to ponder this. Putting a finger to her chin she tried to think of ideas only to get caught up in the sensations of her newly furry chin. Twirling her finger around she couldn't help but be fascinated by the feel of her fur. Putting both paws through her face she rubbed around, eyes closed and smiling due to the feelings she got from just relishing in her fur, only to be stopped by the annoyed and much more experienced rabbit.
"Steph? Steph?"
Snapping out of her trance she looked at Bunnymund, a "What are you doing?" look on his face, and blushed.
"Sorry, REALLY like the fur. But yeah, I know how to spend the rest of the night. Just gonna do some casual shit since that's what I wanted and I'm not gonna let the small thing of losing skin change that."
As soon as Steph left Bunnymund could hear humming, which made him curious about exactly what the newly chosen bunny was planning. He soon found out as she came back carrying two beer bottles. Bunnymund immediately held up his paws in protest.
"A toast" said Steph, holding a beer up.
"Oh no, no guardian has ever drank beer. Not doing it" Bunnymund said in protest.
"Look just for tonight you take one sip. You don't ever have to do it again, just for today and just for me. So what do you say, to being a guardian?" Steph said before pulling puppy dog eyes, now extra powerful due to her animal nature.
Pushing down all feelings of resistence Bunnymund groaned, admitting defeat. After one sip Bunnymund gagged.
"God you people live off this stuff?"
"Adult life is all about accepting things are shit and going with it. That's why I'm glad to now be a guardian. How do you think the others will think of me?" asked Steph, her face showing it was a casual thought.
"Well for starters you gotta fix that cavity, Tooth will see it in a second" replied Bunnymund.
"How did you...?"
"You know someone whose entire life is teeth long enough and you start to pick up on things. Now, let's just enjoy this night" said Bunnymund.
And with that, Steph felt like everything was perfect. Sure, she was a walking rabbit, but she had another one to keep her company, and he was a hell of a friend. Smiling Steph felt ready for the life of eggs ahead of her.
"I love you Bunny."
Bunnymund smiled back with a smile warm enough to light the entire room.
"I love you too Stephanie."
"Aw you knew my full name. Never call me that again though, its always been Steph and the fur only makes me more Steph."
"I'm gonna regret this aren't I?" asked Bunnymund.
"That's what makes it fun" Steph replied with a smirk.
With the two sitting down and looking at each other, they both felt like they found everything they wanted. Steph now had a good life ahead of her and felt new feelings of energy and delight, and Bunnymund had a partner and another pooka to keep him company, one who just happened to be one of the closest friends he had.
As the two smiled at each other they both knew one thing: this would be the beginning of a match made in heaven.
