Draco just had to leave the compartment, the intoxicating pleasure, similar to drinking purified blood, had ran through his body.
He took some calming breathes, and retreated back to his compartment, not slipping a bit as the train shook across the tracks.
Finding the compartment Draco swiped the door open, and entered in another argument between Pansy and Theodore.
"...I don't think that the Dark Lord has returned at all. Why would he announce himself to some silly student, and not the whole wizarding world. No, Harry is just full of it."
"He seemed quite genuine when he showed up with Cedric dead" countered Theodore.
Draco stared at the two arguing Slytherins, as they turned their attention towards him.
"Draco" Pansy said in a sweet but threatening tone "do you think that the Dark Lord has returned?"
Draco sneered.
Talking mockingly Pansy was encouraged to go on "what pleasure is there in hiding in the shadows, when the Dark Lord could grab the helm of it and envelope the world in darkness."
"He will return" said Draco "and when he does, all the pain and humiliation that we endured will be worth it."
Pansy had a smug look on her face. "Death Eaters do like to have their fun."
"Fun is for the lower outer circle" said Draco "as I am sure that your parents know so well. Scarring the universe, that is, to achieve something so great that it cannot be erased, with a legacy lasting generations, is what the inner circle achieves. Slytherin did it by scarring the good intentions of the Founders for a safe school into a dark and foreboding hell hole. The House of Slytherin is a dark scar on the universe, and only the best can continue that tradition."
Draco knew that the days of those that scar the universe are numbered. Once a scar on humanity is formed, there will be people that will tear it down, and regenerate the tissue so that the scar is finally healed. But the time to heal the scar is a long time indeed.
Draco then moved down in-between Pansy and Theodore.
Pansy was all about pleasure. This personality trait did not appeal to Draco at all. He wanted to scar the universe. To have generations of people say things like "we would have achieved so much if it wasn't for Draco Malfoy." He wanted people to be forced to say it, as the truth hurt them everyday, in remembrance to what was lost.
Draco desperately needed someone, or something, greater than himself for him to cause a lasting legacy. And what better thing than the entire universe. But he had to start small, and Luna looked like a good target. She looked innocent and unassuming, perfect to be twisted into a vampire.
Draco understood that his legacy will only be as great as what he scarred. Luna was perfect. But he needed to learn more about her. What were these creatures that she mentioned?
Draco was a vampire, birthed out of the scarring of Christ by torture. Only by the torture being reversed, with tears of remorse, holy water, could the vampires ever be extinguished. But it is God that must cry tears of remorse, to finally heal the would and extinguish all vampires, from Hell to Earth, from existence. But Draco, told that story of doom since birth by his father, knew that it was a long time coming. In time, he would need to tell his mate that story before turning her, as the fall must be consensual.
But God crying tears of remorse was as likely as a deep scar on the skin being spontaneously healed. Only something like surgery or stem cell treatment, some thing that even God has not experienced, can erase this scar.
Draco was interrupted out of his thoughts by the train slowing down. They had arrived at Hogwarts.
Draco disembarked from the train and walked on the Hogsmeade platform towards the self-moving carriages. Taking a seat, the carriage pulled off, riding up a steep hill to the looming castle in the distance which was Hogwarts.
Walking through the castle doors and down the halls, they arrived at the Great Hall. Draco moved over to the Slytherin table, decked out in green and silver with snake imagery.
After Draco sat down, his two goons sat at opposite ends of him. Soon the first year sorting started, with a handful of students being accepted into Slytherin.
Draco congratulated them, omitting the part where the House of Slytherin, as a scar, was doomed. Its founding was birthed out of pureblood supremacy, and only the acceptance of wizards into muggle society could ever erase the House of Slytherin from Hogwarts. The muggles had to be the ones welcoming the purebloods with open arms. But Draco, told that by his father, who was told that by the Dark Lord himself, instead groomed the new students to hate the muggles. To hate them as much as possible.
"Welcome to Slytherin" Draco sneered, as the new Prefect of the house "in this house we do not tolerate those that deal with mudbloods or muggles. Blood traitors are even worse."
The students ate up his little speech. Draco then peered downwards at their guiltless eyes, and vowed to scar one if not all of them with hate before the end of his studies.
Soon the feast ended, and Headmaster Dumbledore took to the podium.
"Welcome to a new year of Hogwarts. I hope that your break was restful and exciting. Now some important announcements, first"
"Ahem"
Dumbledore was interrupted by a fat woman with large lips and curly brown hair.
Dumbledore looked askance at her. "Ah, yes, Professor Umbridge."
"Oh thank you Headmaster Dumbledore. I just want to introduce myself. I am the new Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor, and I have a speech on why I am here, furloughing my ministry job as undersecretary."
"Oh please, go ahead."
And so she droned on. Draco barely listened to her speech. It looked like just another power grab by the ministry.
Soon, her speech ended and Dumbledore dismissed them to their rooms.
Draco, as a prefect, led the Slytherins to the dungeons.
