Paige took a deep breath, as she went to look at the words that she already knew going to be there.
Pregnant
She had a suspicion she might be the night before the fall out with Walter. She was already 2 weeks late, but it wasnt uncommon for her period to be 2 weeks late from the stress working at Scorpion brought. But the last month her breasts had been tender beyond belief and her nose was on over drive. It wasn't until seeing Walter at the pitch yesterday that she had decided to finally confirm her suspicion.
Her hand instinctively rested on her uterus. Was she really going to go through all of this by herself all over again. She had to admit she was excited on some level to have a baby in her arms again, but the fear of co-parenting with Walter over took most of her excitement. He was an amazing father-figure to Ralph, but he met Ralph at age nine, he didn't have to deal with the baby stage- the toddler stage.
I could lie. Was a thought that had been running through her head several times. She was 6 weeks, 7 weeks at the latest, could easily lie and go in to the doctor in 2 weeks and say she had just found out. Thatd push the due date back to a month, making Toby realize there wouldn't be a chance the kid is Walter's. Until the baby came out looking exactly like him, she knew it would. It would have his dark brown eyes, it would have his curly black hair and his darker complexion.
"Walter." She muttered his name for the first time in weeks.
Walter tossed and turned in his bed, unable to sleep. He hadn't been able to sleep in weeks. His brain overplaying the break up, of both him and Paige and of Scorpion, over and over everytime he closed his eyes. He didn't mean for all of it to fall out the way it did. If he could go back, he would've never taken Florence to that lecture in the first place.
With a heaving sigh he threw himself out of bed and walked to his kitchen. He grabbed a cup out of the cupboard and proceeded to try and fill it with water from the sink, but he must've pushed it too hard because the handle had broken. He rubbed his face with his hand, he didn't have the time nor the desire to fix the kitchen sink at 2am.
He opened the door to the loft's bathroom. He hadn't been in there for 2 weeks, not since Paige had left. He normally would utilize the one down in the garage, at least that one he didn't intimately share with Paige. That one she had never showered in, even when they weren't together he had allowed her total access to the loft and his bathroom as much as she wanted, never had her "beauty" products scattered all over the sink and the cabinetry.
When he turned on the light, there were no beauty products scattered, the extra tooth brushes she had left for her and Ralph were gone and any other remnant of her was gone as well. As he filled up his cup and headed out the door his eyes spotted the lilac purple hand towels Paige had insisted he needed to buy whilst at Target, because she had the same at her condo, so she can make the Loft feel a little more like "home".
Now with her being gone, even with his messed up EQ, the Loft didn't feel like home without her here with him. Walter hastily walked to the kitchen sink and poured the water down it, and grabbed the bottle of bourbon on the counter and filled up his glass and proceeded to drink until it didn't hurt anymore. Normally he doesn't drink, ever. Until the pain over took him, he didn't care that it impacts his cognitive function. His cognitive function is what got him into this mess in the first place, where he feels like his entire body is crumbling into pieces, that everytime his heart beats it hurts, that every lingering thought is of her. And that's what he needed now, was to not think of her. He took one last swig of the drink he had in his hand and stumbled off to bed.
