Before she took over Piltover, everyone already knew about Renata Glasc and her products. Piltovians couldn't cross the street without seeing one the name Glasc Industries, either in advertisements or someone using one of their products. No matter what they needed she had something for it, almost everyone in Piltover used them. The few that didn't in Piltover were Caitlyn, Jayce and Vi because Ekko told the last one who Renata was.

It all started with one interview in a talk show, this was where she first revealed the product that would give her control of Piltover. Vi heard that interview with Caitlyn and they thought nothing of it, they had no way to know what she would do next.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, today we bring to you Renata Glasc. She will be telling us about herself, her business and will then answer some of your questions at the end of the show," said the interviewer. He had the most famous radio show in Piltover, everyone gathered to hear it. The guests could vary from entrepreneurs, inventors and artists. People usually said that someone knew they made it in Piltover when they got invited there.

"How are you doing everyone?" said Renata while waving her hand. The crowd loved her; she was different to the other millionaires in Zaun. She looked freindly and aproachable. There were hundreds of stories of people who ran into her and talked about how human she was.

The first questions were about her future products and what she was working on. She talked about how she would bring Piltover to a new time with Chemtech and everyone cheered her, she made them think the best was about to come. They felt excited when she spoke, this were the same reactions that people had when listening to Jayce when he revealed an invention.

Caitlyn and Vi had been studying her to see if they found anything suspicious, they were waiting to see if she would say something new during this interview. Since Ekko told them about her businesses in Zaun they started to see fi there was evidence of illegal activity in Piltover too. They had been studying her for a few weeks and they still hadn't found anything, she was either clean or very good at hiding whateer she was doing.

The questions then moved on from business to more personal things about her. He asked about her routine, her friends and hobbies. Then he asked something about her family and Renata just said her parents died when she was a teenager. She used that question to talk about her charities in Zaun and how she didn't want any kid to go through the same she had to. Vi knew this was a lie and felt sick when hearing her say that. Ekko told her what she did in Zaun and how her charities were just a way to make money for her.

"Renata, the last few weeks we saw many pictures in the newspapers about you in parties here in Piltover. As the first zaunite to ever be invited to this kind of parties we all want to know, what did you think of them?" The interviewer asked her. Renata laughed at the question.

"They are great. Although I will say, they ask some of the weirdest questions there," she said while laughing. Renata had a distinctive laugh, many even thought she was faking it because of how unique it was. The interviewer laughed and asked her for an example.

"One recent one was this older lady who came to me to ask me about my age and if I wasn't too young to already have gray hair. You wouldn't believe her face when I told her my age," Renata answered with a smile. "She then asked me for my secret, and I told her she would need to wait a few week for it"

"Wait a few weeks for what?" The interviewer asked.

"Well… I'm not supposed to share this, but we are working on a new product. I've been using it for the past few months, and I can confirm it works. It makes you younger, stronger and faster all at the same time" Everyone who heard this was confused by it. How was it supposed to make all of those things? She claimed it was a small inhaler and just using it once a day was more than enough.

Renata spent the rest of the interview talking about it and the next day it appeared in all the newspapers. Everyone was talking about it, some wanted to look younger while others wanted to be stronger. It was everywhere and the moment people stopped talking about it a new rumor would appear or Renata would say something else about it. The product later came out with the name "The Secret" and everyone was all over it.

Vi didn't trust her and made sure Caitlyn and Jayce didn't buy it. Both were tempted to use it but obeyed Vi and didn't get it. The same couldn't be said about the rest of Piltover, literally everyone ended up using it. It was better than any vitamin supplements and it was shown to slow aging more than any other product available. This made it highly desirable to everyone above 25 years, younger people weren't so tempted by it at first.

Then a new picture came out of Seraphine and Renata together, then a rumor appeared about them planning to do a collaboration together. For the next weeks Seraphine would always talk about the Glasc industries products, especially The Secret. She said she was no longer tired after concerts and that her skin never looked better. In no time every single Seraphine fan was buying it, the fact that she was promoting it was reason enough to get it. Just like that, everyone except for small kids was using it every day.

Vi noticed how popular it was among the enforcers, they all were talking about. They claimed to feel better than they had ever been, even the detectives said they were working better thanks to it. Most of them called it a miracle and some even thought it was as revolutionary as hextech. Vi saw during the trainings that they all got stronger than before, she couldn't tell if it was inside their heads or if it actually worked. Either way they were all happy with it.

Jayce also saw all his coworkers using it, some thought they looked better and other now would no longer end the day tired. In the forge the productivity jumped abruptly, Jayce had never seen the workers do so much in such a small amount of time. Even with the better numbers the Ferros weren't happy with it, they didn't like their employees using the products of the competitors. They went as far as to ban their usage but very few actually stopped using it.

Things were still normal for Piltover until one day the council named Renata a member, this confused every single citizen in Piltover and Zaun. Even though a lot of people in Piltover loved her, she was still a new face in Piltover. No one could believe they would give her a position, only the houses involved in the founding of Piltover had a position there. This made Vi and Caitlyn suspicious that something was wrong, this was highly unusual. They talked with Caitlyn's dad to ask him about the decision. He only had good things to say about her and insisted she deserved her position there, but gave few reasons for it. Caitlyn and Vi knew something was wrong but they couldn't quite understand what it was.

Everyone talked about Renata getting a place in the council. The periodists in the radio were all against it, both because she was a zaunite and it didn't make any sense. However, there was a sudden turn in the next days and then everyone in Piltover was hearing about how Renata deserved that place. The same happened with the newspapers, they all went from being against the idea to strongly in favor of it. This changed the minds of many in Piltover, especially when many in positions of power also voiced their support for the council's decision. The biggest surprise was when even Heimerdinger said he thought Renata would be great for the job.

Then Renata showed up to the office of the enforcers, she said she wanted to speak with the sheriff. Vi told Caitlyn to avoid her but she couldn't just say no, Renata was a council member now and she could solicit a conversation with her if she wanted to. The conversatio started with simple questions, Renata just asked about the enforcers and the way they worked. She asked about their communications and how their radio system. Then Renata asked Caitlyn if she used her products, this caught Caitlyn off guard. It was highly unusual for someone ask this, especially in a formal setting. Caitlyn avoided the question and Renata didn't push further.

Renata thanked Caitlyn and gave her a kiss on the cheek. This made Caitlyn uncomfortable, very few in Piltover did that as a goodbye. She knew it was common in other places, so she didn't think much of it. Renata then stared for a few seconds, waiting for something to happen and then left. As she left Caitlyn realized how peculiar was the perfume Renata was using, it was like nothing she had ever smell.

She then spoke with every enforcer in private, even Vi. She asked her about her work and what she did, Vi tried to be as professional and impersonal as she could. She looked oddly disappointed and was about to leave until she remembered that Vi was from Zaun. She asked her about her old life in there, everyone knew her as the enforcer from the undercity, so the question wasn't an unusual one. She asked her if she had heard anything from her or her charities, Vi lied and said she hadn't kept in touch with anyone there.

The rest of the day was normal until it was time for Vi and Caitlyn to leave, some detectives asked Caitlyn to stay for a minute. Vi told her she would wait for her at home, it wasn't uncommon for them to ask her to stay for a bit longer. However, Vi felt that something was wrong this time. She then waited at their home she shared with Caitlyn, but she never arrived. Caitlyn usually told her if she had a difficult case, she hadn't mentioned this one. She went back to the office to see if Caitlyn was still there, but everyone said she already left and went to her house. Vi knew this was false because she didn't ran into her on the way there.

Vi went to see Jayce in his workshop, maybe Caitlyn went to see him. Jayce was still in his office, he was finishing some plans. Vi was worried and in a hurry, so she went straight to the questions.

"Jayce, have you seen Caitlyn?" Vi asked, she was speaking fast and was breathing heavily. Jayce noticed something was wrong.

"No, what's going on?" Jayce stood up and walk towards her.

"Caitlyn disappeared, I don't know where she is. Renata went to our offices this morning, but I don't know if she has something to do with this. Anyway, I have to go look for her"

"Speaking of her, she has been trying to contact me all week. Even some coworkers are telling me to meet her. I'll tell you more while we look for Caitlyn, are you sure she isn't home?" Jayce stood up and grabbed a small bag he had.

"She wasn't there before but maybe she went back. Tobias mansion is on the way there, maybe she went to check on her dad," said Vi and began walking. She was walking as fast as she could, she could feel that something was wrong.

"Do you think Jinx could've done it?" Jayce asked trying to keep up with her.

"No, she always leaves something to show she did it. There was nothing and every enforcer told me she went home"

When they got close to her home Vi saw that there were enforcers waiting at the door, she couldn't understand why they were there. She knew there was something wrong, things didn't make any sense. Renata was a member of the council, Caitlyn disappeared, and Jayce coworkers were insisting that he should speak with Renata. They worked for the Ferros, why would they recommend that? Most of them were loyal to their house.

"Jayce stop. There are enforcers there" Vi grabbed Jayce and moved him to the side, outside of the view of the enforcers.

"Maybe they are there because of Caitlyn, didn't you say she disappeared?" Jayce couldn't understand what Vi was thinking.

"They said she went home, why would they be here? Also, they are supposed to wait 24 hours before starting an investigation" Vi started to walk towards her office, she wanted her gauntlets with her. "Listen Jayce, don't you think there is something wrong? Caitlyn disappears, Renata is in the council and all the newspaper suddenly changed the way they talk about that decision in less than a week. This makes no sense"

"Vi, rich houses buy media outlets all the time. This isn't as weird as you make it out to be" Jayce answered. He wasn't wrong, it was common for the richest in Piltover to pay a newspaper to get better articles written about them or get somethings about them omitted.

"True, but what about those big houses supporting her. I've been studying them, they were rivals in the market and oppose each other. Also, Heimerdinger suddenly supports her too?"

"There is something going on, but we don't know what kind of deals they make behind closed doors" Jayce was starting to worry about Vi, she seemed too nervous and was clearly worried about Caitlyn.

They entered the enforcers station and Vi went straight for her gauntlets, but on the way there she encountered Officer Harknor. He was with 2 other enforcers and immediately told her to stop.

"Vi, I'm glad to see you. There has been an issue, could you do me a favor and come here please" Harknor said. He sounded serious, and Jayce stopped as he heard his voice. Vi kept walking, she never listened to him anyway and today would be no exception.

"No time, sorry. I'm working on something else" said Vi as she kept moving. She then saw Harknor take out a radio and speak.

"She knows. Come here fast" He then made a hand sign to the other enforcers, the bigger one cuffed Jayce to one of his arms. Vi saw this and went straight for her gauntlets as fast as she could. She got to the box that had them and got her key out, she could hear the other enforcer getting closer. She opened the box and put them on, now she needed to free Jayce and escape. This enforcers were clearly against her.

She punched the enforcer that went to look for her, she made sure the punch wouldn't leave permanent damage. All she needed was to stop him from chasing her. She couldn't find Harknor, but it didn't matter. He wouldn't be much trouble and Jayce was her priority now, he was still cuffed to the enforcer. She knocked out the enforcer cuffed to him and then broke the handcuffs.

"There are more coming, we have to run. Where is your hammer?" Asked Vi while grabbing Jayce with one hand. She then went to the window and used her other hand to push herself and Jayce to the roof of the building next to them. Jayce was surprised by this but didn't have time to react or scream. Vi could feel his breathing, he wasn't use to this kinds of things.

"It in my house, I have it hidden so it should be safe" Answered Jayce. Vi left him on the roof and got ready to run. They first jump from roof to roof to avoid the enforcers but as soon as they stopped seeing them they decided to run in the street. Once they got closer, they saw there were people waiting on Jayce's mansion too.

"Wait, why isn't security doing anything about them?" Jayce was the one nervous now. He was used to being in control of his life and this was the opposite of that.

"I don't think they work for you anymore. Listen, where is the room with the hammer?" Vi asked

"it is my room, over there" Said Jayce while pointing towards it. "We need to enter thought the door first, do you think you can defeat-"Jayce stopped speaking when he heard a loud explosion. Vi had just broken his wall and went straight to his room.

"Hey man of tomorrow, where is the hammer?" Vi asked while moving the furniture around, trying to guess where it was.

"Under the bed, it is hidden in the floor. To open it you have to- "before Jayce could finish speaking Vi had already thrown his bed. She then punched the floor and took a big briefcase that was there. Jayce jaw dropped; he was lost for words.

"Run! They will be here any time" Said Vi while giving Jayce a tap on his back.

Now that they both had weapons escaping was much easier. The only problem left for the was hiding. Vi told Jayce to follow her to a spot where she used to hide when she was younger, when she lived another life. It was close enough to the city to get there fast and had access to the sewer in case she needed to escape.

"Any plan on what to do next? Everyone could be against us" Jayce was working with a small radio Vi had with her, it was for her job as an enforcer. It was supposedly blocked by the other radios so that she couldn't hear to their conversation, but Jayce thought he could make it work for that anyway.

"I want to see where Caitlyn is first. Then we'll see what to do next" Vi had only one thing in mind and that was Caitlyn, she needed to know if she was still alive and where. She couldn't risk looking for Caitlyn now so her only hope was to hear about her with that radio.

"Any ideas on what we could do? Most people I know already voiced their support for her. Except for the Ferros, but I don't know how trustworthy they are right now" Jayce said. The radio was now making more noises, they sounded like voices but they weren't clear enough to be understandable. He only needed to make those noises clearer and then he would be able to understand them.

"I think Ekko can help us, he is the one that warned me about Renata in the first place. How are you doing with that?" asked Vi while pointing at the radio. She had her eyes glued to it; this was her last chance to know anything about Caitlyn. Maybe she is hiding like them, if that was the case then the enforcers would mention it in their radios eventually.

"Almost there," said Jayce. It ended up taking him half an hour, but it finally worked. They stayed listening to it for a few hours, they seemed to be working like usual. Even though the society went through many changes it seemed to work fine anyway, like nothing had changed. That was the weirdest thing for Vi, how little things had changed. If someone arrived to Piltover today, they wouldn't be able to tell something changed.

Every second hearing the radio felt like an eternity to Vi, all she could hear were normal conversations. They were talking about chases, vandalism and someone calling the enforcers, all useless for her. Then the voice of Renata appeared, she was communicating with them.

"Caitlyn will join our operation, she is with us now. Do what she says" Vi turned pale and suddenly stopped breathing. What could she be talking about? She couldn't understand why Caitlyn would join her.

"This is Caitlyn. If one of you sees Vi, tell all officers in your area. Once you capture her you bring it to me first. Over," Vi knew it was her, she could recognize her voice anywhere. She couldn't believe this. She was glad Caitlyn was still alive, but that was nothing in comparison to the distress she felt knowing that she was now working against her.

She looked at Jayce, he looked as surprised as she was. This was bad, she couldn't understand when this happened. In one night, Renata convinced Caitlyn to join her and now she was trying to capture Vi. Jayce and Vi knew Caitlyn better than anyone else, this wasn't normal for her. She wasn't corrupt so money couldn't have done this, she even disliked Renata. Why would she suddenly change her mind so abruptly?

"Well. I guess we are going for Ekko then" Vi said quietly. She could feel her eyes watering, she hadn't been this upset in a long time. The fear of a loved one changing and turning against her had been with her since Jinx tried to kill her. It was now happening again to her, but this time it was Caitlyn. Jayce said nothing, he didn't know what to say to her. He was used to seeing Vi as this strong person that fears nothing, it was the first time he ever saw her like this.

"Have you ever been in the sewer?" Vi asked while opening the manhole cover that was there, she was trying her hardest to smile while saying it. Ekko was now her only hope of a friendly face that could help her, she needed him more than ever. She kept in touch with him, but their relationship hadn't been the same since she joined the enforcers. She could only hope that the crisis would make it easier for him to forgive her.
