I was debating which Zelda story I wanted to do, but watching Chuggaconroy's Windwaker letsplay and seeing how he had other Charecters joining Link in the Wind and Earth Temple made me realize what story I wanted to do. Twilight Princess. It is a great place for a Mika story.. the last two Mika story. After this story, and one other, no more Mika stories will appear.
After four years of using him, Mika is going to be restricted to only the comic I am writing... no more use in fanfictions. I will miss him but it is time, I have outgrown him though I love him. I was going to put him into Majora's mask, into the timeline where Link never visits but that is going to be another Oc, one independent and interesting... I am really excited for that path.
As for this story, I agonized over my choice, wanting My final Mika fanfic to go out with a bang... so I picked Twilight Princess. I thought about it and had a lot of trouble, since it is one of the more linear stories with Link doing anything of note. Then I realized several things... Kakariko Village only had three survivors, people died due to Zant's attack, people suffered as Hyrule Rivers dried up... I had realized that this was a country, one who suffered from pitiful rulers and a constant sequence of horrors repeating to such a degree the common people did nothing to help themselves... I knew what I had to do.
Thank you for Four years of awesomeness, trials and tribulations... Thank you for everything. So Sit back, relax and enjoy Mika's final performance on Fanfiction.
Mika's hands were shaking, today was the day. The day he had been preparing for four years, the day he was tested for magical potential. He had been studying day in and day out, as hard as he could, for the chance to become a Sorcerer. He couldn't believe it but the day had finally arrived!
Castle town was abuzz with countless people flooding the town, eager to give their children to the Knighthood or to the Sorcerers Guild. It considered a great honor, but Mika didn't care about that. No, what he wanted was something far different... he wanted power. Anything.
For all of it's self indulgent praises, Hyrule was a horrible place to live. Monsters roamed the lands at night, the Knights corrupt and cruel, Race tensions were at high. The scars of the Wars past had left it's marks on the land and on the people within. They were suspicious of each other and lazy... years of being an orphan, being forced to steal to survive had taught him that.
' Enough Negativity, today is the day my Lot in life changes.'
Shivering, Mika walked straight into the Line forming near the entrance to Hyrule Castle. Five people stood ahead of him, three he knew were from Kakariko other were from Castle town itself, he was familiar enough with them though he was pretty sure he had never spoken to them.
For a solid twenty minutes, Mika waited and then it happened, the doors open and Sixteen Knights walked towards them. In the middle of the group, stood three cloaked beings. Mika knew who they were... the Royal Sorcerers. They radiated power, the kind that made Mika's skin crawl and hair stand on end. They were the potion makers, the sources of many acts of magic across Hyrule. Monsters sealed away, people healed, problems of all sorts solved... or at least, that was what he heard. He had no idea if they were true... well the potions part he knew was true, he had actually seen and used their potions before. They were pretty common place after all.
" Only threeof." A cold, emotionless voice drew all thoughts from his head. He looked forward and caught the speaker of the voice, the Middle sorcerer. She pulled her cloak back, revealing her face for all to see. She was pretty, but not exceptionally so, with Grey eyes and soft blonde hair. Around her neck, Mika saw a necklace resembling the legendary Triforce. Something seemed right about her having that around her neck. " Only Three of you will be allowed to train to become sorcerers. In all actuality, only one of you will be able to take up the title of Sorcerer. Only one will probably manage to succeed in their training and accomplish the deeds necessary to truly wield magic." She scanned the gathering of hopefuls, something just shy of a sneer crossing her face. " Now, you will follow us to the Castle where you will be tested to see if you even have a potential for magic. Should you succeed, you will be allowed to remain with us to train to harness your abilities. Should you fail, well your magical knowledge will be wiped clean and you will be banished from the castle. Do you still accept, knowing this?"
Mika nodded, ignoring the muttering and sputtering of the other around him. He knew he would succeed.
" Hmm Very well, Follow us." Turning on heel, the Sorcerer strutted with purpose towards the castle.
All of hopefuls chased after, stumbling over themselves to follow the Sorcerers. While not as embarrassing as the others, Mika was just as excited and nervous. This wasn't like any other strut to the castle, this was a journey of power and defiance of Fate. This was not to be take lightly.

"Shed your belongings and separate, standing on the Runic formations. " Mika, having the least amount of belongings, was able to shed his stuff and stand on the White runic formation they asked him to. Nothing happened at first, then it started to glow as soft off white. Tiny Sparkles, not unlike the glitters that wafted off Fairies, started to rise upwards from the runes.
"Mmm... Seems you have the gift of magic, unusual for those of you not blessed with the might of pure Hylian blood." The Women from before, stood next to him. Her eyes were a little less cold as curiosity filled them. " I would have guessed you would fail, my little Round eared apprentice. "
A tiny flush tried to wash it's way across his face. Goddess, he was tired of hearing that. Round ears, mutt, hybrid... he had bee hearing that garbage for years. Hylians loved reminding people that they were special, that they were blessed by the Goddesses. Being a mere human, not having a drop of Hylian or Gerudo blood, meant he was considered basically nothing by most people's perspective. He tried his hardest to ignore it, but honestly there were times it got to him. Being only Thirteen basically meant his capacity to deal with such things was... limited.
" I live to shake expectations, Ma'am."
"Hmmm I guess I will be looking forward to that." She walked away from him, staring at the others who... were not as successful as he was. Just as the old witch had guessed, two other had managed to cause the runes to activate. " Those of you who have failed to activate your of runes, follow the guards out of the castle. Those of you who have succeeded... well, color me impressed. Three have managed to succeed, just as I predicted. Two Hylians and one Human, fascinating."
Just barely resisting the urge to roll his eyes, Mika keep his full attention on the women. A good thing too as silver sparks of light started to trickle from her body, rushing to join her fingertips. Tiny diamonds danced above her finger, joining to create a ball of sheer silver energy. " This is magic, this is the power we will teach you to wield. With it, the world is at your finger tips. " In a show of power, the silver ball of energy shimmered until it became a perfect replicate of the globe. Familiar sights, such as Oronda province, Lake Hylia and Death Mountain. " As a royal sorcerer, your task will be many. We create potions to heal the people, we cast spells to deal with pollution or fight monsters, we cast blessings to ease the passage of winter... we are vital to the safety of this kingdom. A Century past, we aided the Sages in their defeat and imprisonment of Ganondorf himself. We outpaced him on many fronts and managed to slay those Gerudo that helped him. We created the legendary Fire and Ice Arrows, used to pin him down. This is what you may be forced to do as a Royal sorcerer."
Another sorcerer, an elderly man, stepped forward. " It will take time, before you may take the title of a full sorcerer. At least a year to become a journeyman, from there you can become an Acolyte, then a master. At each stage your duties will change. For now you will be responsible for cleaning Our training room, rising at Dawn to begin your physical training. Magic requires a powerful body, so you will train with the Knights for the first four hours off every day. From then you will return here and train with us in the usage and theory of magic. Each of us have a specialty, Mine is Healing and Potions. You can call me Master Moe."
The Other Sorcerer, who had yet to speak, also stepped forward and dropped their hood revealing dark skin and blue eyes. " I am Master Reese, I am your enchanting and rune teacher. "
" And I am Layru. " The Blonde women stepped forward, arrogant and in charge. " I will be your combat and ward teacher. I am also in charge all together. Now, just a warning, we will not always be present. We will be working for the Princess often, so it is possible that you will have to work on your own. No magic is to be performed while this occurs, only self study. Any fooling around with your magic, and you will be find yourself in castle town without your memories. Am I clear?"
Without a word, they all nodded, feeling her threat very, very clearly.
" Ummph." Moe grunted drawing their attention. " Enough of that Layru. Now before we send you off for bed, you need to know that Magic requires complete emotional control. You must keep your emotions in check at all times. Any deviation will be strictly dealt with. We will give you a month to learn how to deal with your emotions, and obviously we will be teaching you this skill. Meditation is something you will be getting used to over time. Oh... and one last thing. You will be respectful to your superiors, be that us, the Knights or the Princess herself. That is not merely our rule, but a general rule that will ensure your survival in this castle. Now, take the door to the left and follow the stairs. Pick your beds and go to bed. You will need your rest for tomorrow."
No one said a word as they obeyed, exhaustion fell over them... something Mika would one day realize was magically induced.
Chapter end, tell me what you think in the Reviews.
Yes it was short but it set up what I think is a pretty great story. I always wondered how magic worked in this world for common folks, how the Wisemen existed, how the sages were well known and so on... I wanted to explore royalty, nobility and more...
All ideas are welcome...
Love,
Your Ninja Overlord,
Mika, SPN
