Notes: Okay, now I know Miruko x Midoriya is the most common story and i like it... but how in the world has this not been done yet? Well... it is now!

Back off, Bunny

The crowd cheered loud as the UA sports festival readied itself for the students to make their way inside. Present Mic's booming voice got the people pumped as the first years came out in classes one by one, of course with 1-A getting the most attention. While most in the crowd were normal civilians, this year had an unusually large number of pro heroes compared to normal. Some was because of the buzz behind the students this year, but mostly due to the heightened security requests. And of those extra pros, two top ten members sat towards the top of the arena.

Yawning to herself, the number six ranked hero Miruko leaned back in her seat in the top of the crowd and kicked her feet up. "How long do these things last?" She asked out loud.

"The festival usually lasts most of the day. It's so it gives plenty of time for students to show what they can do for internships." the dragon hero Ryukyu responded next to her. "This is where I found Hado to come work for me last year."

Miruko rolled her eyes and slumped in her chair even more. "Cool, good to know."

"If you didn't want to come, why even show up then?" Ryukyu asked, "You always complain about hero teams, so I know you aren't looking for interns."

Shrugging, Miruko's long ears twitched as the crowd screamed after the final first year class was called. "Meh, had the day off. The principle here called me asking to join here for security, so why the hell not?"

Ryukyu chuckled and leaned back in her seat. "I don't think I've ever seen you attend anything related to schools since graduation. Perhaps getting a student to work for you wouldn't be a bad idea."

"Yeah, dream on scaly. Dealing with a little twerp is the last thing I want to do."

Miruko was honest about that too. Ever since graduating, she was called crazy when she chose to go out on her own. She didn't want some hero above her giving her orders of what to do when she wanted to work, and for sure didn't need anyone to help her. Heroes that needed to team up to save people meant they weren't strong enough on their own, and she thought the same for these students. If they needed to be held by their hand while growing up, it was for certain it wasn't going to be her doing it.

She was also regretting coming to this event… and the damn thing hadn't even started yet. At least she made sure she could just sit from Principle Nezu, and was owed a favor for coming here. Problem was she felt like it would be a favor she would never bother using.

As the students all gathered to the center of the grass, Miruko snickered as the teacher Midnight came on the podium in her tight skinned outfit. Her ears picked up the thousands of whistles and hollers the men and boys were giving out to her costume choice. "So she got too old for the streets and now teaches horny teenagers. Of course…"

The white haired rabbit listened bored as the latex covered teacher called up one of the students from 1-A to represent the first year students. He was called Bak- Baka… whatever, she wasn't listening that much. She eyed the spiky haired blonde as he slowly walked up the steps to the mic, looking almost as uninterested as she was. She sighed and leaned on her fist preparing for some sappy speech these kids always try to do sound positive and about teamwork, blah blah blah.

"I'll just say…" the teen announced to the arena.

"I'll be number one."

Wait, that was unexpected.

Miruko sat up in surprise to the declaration made by this kid. She could hear the hundreds of boos and insults called out by the other students below, and yet this boy didn't even care. He walked back off the podium and though the teens not giving them second glances, his eyes set focused and ready. She could tell he was being serious in his statement, and she couldn't help but grow a large smirk as he reminded the rabbit hero of someone just as stubborn.

Herself.

She couldn't help but grin and leaned forward. "Okay, this kids got some balls. I like that."

As the first event prepared to start, Miruko watched curiously as the hundreds of students crowded together on the field and prepared for the obstacle course. Her eyes however were watching a certain blonde towards the front. He did catch her attention, sure, but saying one thing and doing it are different. Now he had to prove it. As it started, she listened in annoyance to the crowd and announcer drooling over that Endeavor's kid. Sure she could tell he was powerful, taking out multiple of the large bots himself with ice, but looking at him made her feel like she was staring at a piece of wood.

"I've seen coffee beans with more emotion than that kid in front." she grunted to herself as he raced ahead of the other students.

Ryukyu rolled her eyes. "What, he not eccentric enough for you?"

"I mean the kids in first place, and it looks like he's gonna cry if he smiles." the rabbit woman retorted. She then looked back to the screen and smiled herself. "Oh, look what we have here."

She could see Bakugo blasting his way through the sky passed the other robots in hot pursuit of the ice user. His face unlike the leaders was filled with rage and determination, just like any person aiming for the top should have. "That's a face more like what I wanna see!"

"That?" Ryukyu questioned as she stared at the glaring kid baring his teeth like a rabid dog. "You would be lucky to not scare kids away looking like that."

"Shut it scaly, no one asked you." Miruko shot out much to the others annoyance. "I'm actually getting a kick out of him."

The rest of the obstacles seemed to not even affect Bakugo, the explosion user flying over the tightrope chasm and catching the young Todoroki at the mine field. Not only did he want to pass the leader, Miruko watched in amazement as he even tried to hit him with a blast of his own. "Ha, now that's more of a race that I'm liking!"

Then, both the racers and the audience were caught off guard by the massive explosion at the back of the mine field. Through the large smoke cloud came flying the plain looking green haired boy over the entire crowd and overtaking the lead from everyone else. Miruko like all the others were shocked and amazed by the sudden change of events, even laughing more when she saw the exploding blonde scream out in anger and chase after him now. "He is like an angry dog, one thing to the next."

The race ended as her new favorite contestant placed third in the groups. "Hmm, not bad kid, but if you're gonna run that trap of yours you better back it up." Miruko chuckled to herself and leaned back in her seat. The dragon hero next to her raised an eyebrow as she listened to her companion.

"For someone who doesn't care about this, you seem to be talking a lot about that one." Ryuko said.

"Hey, the little bastard is kinda funny. He caught my eye." Miruko laughed and popped her neck to the side. "Just curious to see what this punk can do later."

the tanned rabbit watched as the second event was announced, making Miruko groan in annoyance. "Shit, a cavalry battle?"

Ryukyu rubbed her head as she felt Miruko start tapping her foot in frustration. "I don't even have to ask why you are annoyed."

"Damn right. The hell is with this teaming up shit anyway? This is supposed to find out who is the best student, not students."

Miruko tapped her foot slightly harder, having to control her temper as she could split this entire section of the coliseum if she wanted to. "Whatever, just get through this crap and show me what you got kid."

As the students began picking members for their teams, Miruko's ears twitched as she picked up the chatter from the group of students crowded around Bakugo trying to get onto his team. To her amusement it seemed he didn't even know a single one of their names, and even less excited to have them join him.

'Shit, the twerp is more like me than I thought. He doesn't even want to do a team up either.' she snickered to herself as she watched him shove through what he called "extras." 'Damn, he really is like me.' Her grin grew wider now.

Once the fifteen minute setup passed, the top forty students now bundled up in their teams on the large centered arena. The red eyes of Miruko sat locked on to Bakugo as he sat on top his other members ready to go to work. His hands sparked out in anticipation and yelled out to no one but himself, making her laugh again. "Spunky little bastard, ain't he?"

The match started, and to no ones surprise they all rushed the number one team. To Miruko's amusement she watched Team Bakugo join in as well, the angry teen screaming and hitting his red head companions skull like a drum telling him to go faster. She laughed as her ears picked up the names he called his teammates beneath him.

"Spiky hair, don't you dare stop going after Deku! Run that nerd down!"

"Raccoon eyes, melt that dumbass to your right!"

"Elbow guy, you're going to slow! Hurry up!"

Ryukyu glared and looked to the woman to her right laughing her head off to something, choosing to slide herself to the empty seat on her left. "No idea what's got her going now… but I'll just stay over here."

The cat and mouse tactics of the match went on for a few minutes, the rabbit hero actually impressed how that plain green haired kids team was holding on to the lead despite everyone after them. Just as she thought of that, she was surprised as his team launched up into the sky above everyone else. Her eyes caught sight of the odd gear they were wearing, realizing what it was.

"So they got some support class nerd to give them shit to use during the match. Psh… pathetic." she grunted and leaned on her hand.

"They are allowed to use gear since they are lower ranked than the hero course…" Ryukyu stated, "It's to balance out the advantage the higher ranked classes have."

"Tsk… yeah, means the little bitches need a handicap." Miruko retorted as she eyed the gear using team. "If you need gear that bad just to keep up with kids using just their quirks, good luck out on the streets. If any hero chooses a chump like that they- HOLY SHIT!"

Miruko jumped out of her seat as she watched Bakugo blast his way off the ground and chase down the flying team. He literally just dipped out on his own group and took off alone. Miruko couldn't contain herself anymore.

"HAHAHA! Now that's the guts I like in someone!" She yelled out in glee as the exploding teen tried taking down the others on his own but was blocked by the bird kids weird power. She felt a small bit of worry as he began falling back towards the ground and risked being disqualified, but got caught last minute by the others. While the others in the crowd were whispering how reckless that was of him, Miruko couldn't be more impressed. He was willing to risk everything in one go and took on an entire team alone. Not a single other kid on the field had that kind of guts.

"Damn it… I think I'm actually enjoying myself now!" Miruko chuckled out loud to herself, not caring if the dragon girl near her kept staring in shock.

"Where did all this come from?" Ryukyu asked herself. She had known Miruko for many years, and never once was she this excited about seeing up and comer heroes show their stuff. She looked back to the arena and looked to Bakugo with confusion. "So… what makes you so special to catch her attention?" She whispered with a smirk.

Miruko's smile vanished however when one of the class B teams slipped behind Bakugo's team and snatched his headband away. "Oh come on, you dumbass! Watch your back!" She yelled out to the arena as if she were his coach. Her ears twitched again as she focused on the chatter between the teams below, listening in as the new kid jeered her favorite.

"All we had to do was stay within the group that would advance, letting us fully observe your quirks as we ran. Only a fool would obsess with winning the preliminary rounds, don't you agree?"

Miruko's eye twitched as she listened to this kid ramble on. "Great, he's one of those kids who just coast by."

People that didn't try their best irked Miruko probably more than anything. If you were to be a hero, you are supposed to give it your all every moment you are awake. Any person that chooses the easy way in life is a slacker in her eyes and doesn't deserve to go further in her mind.

"Kirishima… we have a change of plans."

Her large ears picked up Bakugo's voice, the hero focusing them in again. "Before we take down Deku… We're gonna kill every last one of the B-list idiots!"

"Come on, bomb boy…" Miruko grinned and gave her lips a quick lick, "… Let's see you back that claim up."

As if he heard her, his team charged forward and he swung to shoot a blast to the other kids face. He was blocked however as the other kid… Shot a blast back at him?

"Huh… didn't see that coming." She muttered to herself as Bakugo attempted another blast with this one landing square. Her eyebrow raised as the smoke cleared and the opposing kid was now seemingly hardened like the kid on Bakugo's team. "Ah, I see now. That little shit head can copy quirks." Miruko sat amused wondering what would happen next.

Before Bakugo's team could go in again, another one of the class B teams interfered and blocked their path and locking them to the ground. Miruko gritted her teeth as she hated the way this event was set up. "Oh come on! What kind of shit is this!? Teaming up with other teams? This doesn't determine who is-

"RAH!" Bakugo screamed out as he launched through the air again straight towards his target. "Come here you copycat bastard!"

"Better?" Miruko stuttered as she sat open mouth as he hit this strange air barrier before he landed… only to punch straight through it and rip off two headbands from the kids neck! He didn't even check to see if his team was going to catch him as they did, he just went for it!

"God damn, this kid doesn't give a fuck!" Miruko screamed in amazement and laughed out loud. "Who the hell is this punk!?"

Her ears picked up his teammates saying they were safe now and should back off, but to her glee he refused and ordered them forward.

"We aren't done yet! We are gonna get every last point back, and then we go for the big one!"

Almost like an excited puppy, Miruko shook her hips in anticipation as she watched his team spring forward like a slingshot and his sparking hand snatching the last headband through another air shield.

"That son of bitch pulled another good one off!" she yelled out loud and clutched the rail. "There's no end to this kids drive!"

Even now that he was in second place, Bakugo wasn't satisfied with what he got. He wanted more… no, he wanted it all. He wanted to keep going until he was shown to be the top student there.

And then time ran out.

"Ah shit…" she sighed and tapped the railing in front of her, "… I was hoping to see what he would go for next."

She glanced over to the scoreboard and saw he still managed second place. Not too shabby since he was at zero moments earlier. At least she was continuing on to the final event and what made her most excited; One on one matches.

She couldn't help but grin again at what was to come. "Damn, this is getting good today."

The sudden growl in her stomach caught her attention. She groaned and rubbed her abs. "Well, time to feed the beast. Hey scaly, I'm gonna grab something to eat, you want something?"

Ryukyu groaned to the annoying nickname but shook her head. "Thank you, I'm fine."

"Alright, suit yourself." Not one to walk to the stairs, Miruko gripped the rails and hopped over the edge, falling twenty feet and landing silently on the level beneath her. Some people gasped in shock and awe as the pro hero suddenly appeared out of nowhere, but she was too deep in her thoughts to noticed as she smirked to herself.

Walking into the main cafe room, the excited pro hero took several breaths to calm her nerves. It had been a long time since watching any kind of match that Miruko could remember being this excited for. Normally she was for drawn to combat fighters like herself, since most people would simply show off flashy quirks that did shit for actual combat. This kid however was something else. He had a quirk that most pros would be jealous of, and he had a drive that she hadn't seen in anyone but probably that dick Endeavor.

"Bakugo, Bakugo…" She said to herself in amusement, "… what do you have in store next?"

Once the final event began, Miruko sat back in her seat and munched annoyingly on a bag of fruit she picked up at the snack bar. "The hell kind of place doesn't sell carrots?" She growled out and chomped on an apple.

Unfortunately for her, the other matches didn't concern her in the least, and Bakugo's wasn't until the final match in the first bracket. She would be an idiot however if she wasn't impressed with Endeavor's kid in his battle. The ice kid launched what looked like a damn glacier off the ground that reached up passed where she was sitting. This kid definitely had the power to be a top pro, but once again Miruko stared at his emotionless face.

"Jeez kid... this is high school, not a funeral." she mumbled out loud.

She grinded through the rest of the first round matches (the stupid support girls selling show nearly bored her to death) until finally she reached the match she was excited for. He was faced up against some round face girl who Miruko didn't remember at all from the previous matches. The girl didn't seem like much, but she knew better than anyone looks can be deceiving.

"Now don't disappoint me now…" She whispered to herself as the combatants reached the stage. "… I'd hate to be wrong now."

As soon as the match started, the opposing girl rushed straight at him, but to no ones surprise she was blown backwards by the overpowering explosions being released. Time and time again this brown haired girl kept getting up and charging, but every time she was pushed back again. Miruko had to give the girl some credit, she refused to simply turn over and give up. She had heart as well, but her determination would only go so far.

Soon there was so much smoke the match was getting hard to see. Miruko's ears could pinpoint the action below though, the girls steps as she tried getting closer every time, but no matter how close she came Bakugo was just a few seconds faster. The rabbit hero licked her teeth clean and sat back in her chair. "Sorry kid… you are trying hard, but seems like you hit your limit."

A sudden crackling sound high above the arena reached her long white ears, making her look to the sky. Miruko's eyes widened in shock as there now seemingly hundreds of concrete chunks floating in the air above the stage. Her smile spread ear to ear as she realized what was happening. "Well I'll be damned. That girl did have something up her sleeve."

After several minutes of punishment, she was surprised as the crowd began booing the match in frustration to what they were witnessing. Even some of the heroes here were whining. Miruko tilted her head in confusion, but then felt her eye twitch in frustration when some began complaining about the one thing that always pissed her off.

"Hey you, what kind of a hero beats on a girl like that!?"

"Yeah, quit toying with her, throw her out of the ring and end it!"

"You are no hero!"

"Boo! You're a jerk!"

"HEY!"

Most of the arena fell silent from the booming yell from above, their heads all turning to see the rabbit hero sitting on the edge of the hand rails above them.

"All you little pansies down there whining about him going hard on a girl? Grow a pair and shut up!"

It took quite the restraint not to say what was really on her mind, but she knew she was at a school and had to hold back a little bit.

"You want him to hold back against a female villain, then? Well tough crap! Either you win or lose, that's the story of life! Now the next pro that opens their mouth about crap like that, I'm coming over and kicking your ass out of here!"

Bakugo stared up in shock to the sudden voice coming to his defense. From his position, he could barely make out the white outfit over her body. He then said the one thing that came to his mind to what she said about himself.

"Who the hell is that bimbo?" he grunted out in annoyance. "I don't need some chick helping me."

"Uhhh…" Present Mic's voice echoed over the intercom, "Looks like we got a loud rabbit speaking her mind! Although... I would say he is going a bit- OW!"

"She's right…" Aizawa's voice cut him off. "All you pros that think that way, you should pack up your capes and find a different career. Bakugo respects his opponents strength, that is why he chooses not to hold back against her. Any of you who don't think that way should be ashamed of being called pros."

Miruko smirked and leaned back on the railing she was on, proud of her call out to the crowd. "Those idiots don't know the first thing of real fighting it seems…" Her eyes drifted up and locked onto the cluster of debris hovering above. "You have to always mind your surroundings."

The crowd now gasped in realization to the stones as they started falling like a meteor shower. But when even Miruko was impressed by the move, she was blown away by what came next.

Literally.

What seemed like a nuke going off from the ground nearly pushed her off the rail in shock. She gripped the edge and watched open mouth in amazement as the entire sky of concrete was obliterated in a single blast from Bakugo's outstretched hand.

"Holy shit." Miruko muttered as she brushed the loose hair out of her face. If her smile could grow any bigger it would have torn her cheeks. When she thought she was impressed before, she for sure was now. "The little bastard did it again."

Notes: Alrighty people! here is the prologue to the story! after seeing so many Izuku x Miruko stories I had to do this one. Now how will these two end up working together? I guess you will have to wait and see! Follows and reviews greatly appreciated!
