He is going to find Nick's house and tell her what happened while at hospital...

"Ew! Gross! He's dripping wet. Is he too poor to own a towel? Don't poor people ever bathe?"

"Looks like he went fishing in the Pontchartrain and came up with that hideous shirt instead of a real fish."

"That's 'cause he couldn't miss it. I'll bet it even glows in the dark."

"I bet there's a naked hobo somewhere wanting to know who stole his clothes while he was sleeping on a bench. Gah, how long has he owned those shoes, anyway? I think my dad wore a pair like that in the eighties."

Markos frowned for a moment before looking hatefully at the idiots surrounding him as they mocked the poor sweaty boy marching solemnly into the school. He was handsome in his own way, tall and lanky, but with great facial features and the most startling blue eyes he had ever seen. His luscious black hair looked soft and sweet. The only ugly part of his anything was his ugly shirt, a salmon colored neon Hawaiian shirt. Other then that the kid was perfect.

So, naturally, Markos kept his eye on him as he walked by. He was a touch nervous, this was his first day after all, and he wanted to make friends. He wasn't sure if he wanted to make friends with the jerks mocking the boy for looking poor and kind of sloppy, he hated bullies as it was.

'Come on Markos, you got this.' He said as he walked up to the boy, ready to make friends. He would have made it to the boy but a massive tool, grouped with a bunch of other tools, marched over looking ready to kick the poor boy's ass. 'Great, More violence.'

"Hey, Gautier? I saw your mom naked last night —shaking her butt in my dad's face so that he'd put a dollar in her G-string. He got a good feel of her too. Said she's got a nice set of—"

The kid Markos was trying to talk to, turned and swung his bag, smashing into the arrogant pissants face. The Pissant wailed on the poor boy until a teacher popped up and sent them both away... however Markos clearly got her hate filled glare when it was directed at the poor boy. Just like everyone else she seemed to loathe him for... some reason.

'What the hell did the kid do to be this hated? He was in the right with that confrontation. That douche waffle should have been punished for instigating!' Disgusted and wondering what hell hole he had just dumped himself into, Markos turned on heel and followed the poor kid, catching up with him. "Hey, I need to go to the Office too. I'm new, do you mind if I follow you?" The kid turned towards Markos, and nodded. "I'm Markos by the way, Markos Schmidt. I heard what he said, good on you for kicking his ass. Or well, trying too."

Somehow that was what brought a smile to the kid's face. "Nick Gautier."

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Nick. Who was the douche, he seems like someone to avoid."

"Stone Blackmore, his dad all but owns the school so he gets away with everything." Nick gave Markos a look around, taking in his thick pudgy frame and thin arms. "You'd be chewed up and spit out in minutes. Stay away from him, trust me."

Slowly they made their way to the Office, where Nick moved to the corner of the room and plopped down in the corner. So distracted was he that neither boy really noticed there was another person in the room until they heard her pretty voice.

Looking up, Markos saw one of the prettiest girls he had ever seen. 'Gay or not, she's hot.'

And she was, by every measurement that came with that expression. Dressed all in pink, she was gorgeous, with silky brown hair and green eyes that practically glowed.

He hated her just a little, watching Nick literally drool after her.

'Damn, he's cute so I was hoping he played for my team.'

She held her hand out to Nick, totally ignoring Markos' presence entirely. "I'm Nekoda Kennedy, but most people call me Kody. I'm new to the school and kind of nervous. They told me to wait here, then there was a fight and they haven't come back and ... I'm sorry, I babble when I'm nervous."

"Nick. Nick Gautier."

She laughed like an angel.

"So, have you been going here long?" Kody asked.

He finally choked an answer out. "Three years."

"You like it?"

Nick's gaze went to Stone and the others heading into the office. "Not today, I don't."

She opened her mouth to speak, but Stone and crew surrounded her.

"Hey, baby." Stone flashed her a cheesy grin. "You new meat?"

Kody grimaced and sidestepped them. "Get away from me, you animals. You smell." She raked a repugnant stare over Stone's body and curled her lip. "Aren't you a little old for your mom to be picking out your clothes for you? Really? Shopping at the Children's Place at your age? I'm sure there's some third-grader dying to know who bought the last navy I-sore shirt."

Markos didn't bother to hide his snort, ignoring the glare he got from stone. "You've got a point." It wasn't smart but he hated bullies with a passion.

She went to stand by Nick and put her back against the wall so that she could keep an eye on Stone. "Sorry we got interrupted."

Stone made a sound like he was about to vomit. "Why are you talking to the King Loser Dork? You want to talk about ugly? Look at what he's wearing."

Nick cringed as Kody examined the sleeve of his shirt.

"I like a man who takes fashion chances. It's the mark of someone who lives by his own code. A rebel." She cast a biting glare at Stone. "A real lone wolf is a lot sexier than a pack animal who follows orders and can't have an opinion unless someone else gives it to him."

"Oooo," Stone's friends said in unison as she got the better of him.

"Shut up!" Stone shoved at them. "No one asked you for your opinions."

"Nekoda? Markos?" the secretary called. "We need to finish with your schedules."

Kody gave Nick a last smile. "I'm in ninth grade."

"Me too."

Her smile widened. "Hope we have some classes together. Nice meeting you, Nick." She made sure to step on Stone's foot as she walked past him.

Stone yelped and mumbled an insult for her under his breath. Then he and his three friends sat down in the chairs that were opposite Nick's.

Markos sent a smile to Nick. " See you later Nick, I'm also in ninth grade. Hopefully we'll get to see each other around." He didn't step on Stone's toes, but he did send the boy a nasty glare as he followed Kody away to the secretary.

"Nice to meet you, Miss Kody. I'm Markos." He offered the girl a hand, even if he was annoyed she swooped in on Nick, she seemed nice enough. He could always use some friends, he currently had none.

Her smile was radiant. "Nice to meet you. Your new, too?"

"Yup. New to town too actually, I'm from New York, rural New York. This place is totally different then anything I am used too."

"Yeah, was a culture shock to me too."

He enjoyed her voice he realized, and decided that he wanted her to be his friend. "So, do you have any hobbies or special interests? Me personally I like to read and I just started volunteering at the hospital."

Her eyes went wide. " Same here actually, for both. What wing did they put you on?"

"Three through six, delivery mostly but also to hang out with the patients. I want to make my record look as good as possible. I passed the test to get in here on my first try, so I figured it was a food start but I wanted to really make myself stand out."

"Same, well not for the test but for college." She gave him an appraising look before marching into the securtaries office to complete her schedule. Before she went in she turned to him and said. "If I don't see you later in school I'll see you at work." She smiled once more then hurried in.

For once he felt satisfied that maybe he had made some friends.

Chapter end, tell me what you think in the reviews.

This is a hard series to write for as so much is so personal to Nick...
