I tried to write this before, years ago, but I have gotten miles better as a writer so I am attempting to make it once more.

Telma's bar

"There you go." Priam said, the white light of healing magic dimming from his shaking hands. "All better. See you next week for your treatment." He moved away from the stool he was sitting on, needing to get some energy back to his weary form.

His patient stood, smiling warmly at him before handing him a small token. "For your troubles."

He shook his head. "I get paid well enough working for Telma and Fanandi, I do the healing for people who cannot afford the Doctors price gouging. Keep your money."

The woman's face was bright, warm and comforting. "Telma may not be your mother, but she has done right by you." The friendly woman kissed his cheek then walked away, almost skipping as her gout had been healed by his potent magic leaving him with a feeling of success and pride.

Telma, a heavy and curvaceous woman with swarthy skin and dreadlocks, waltzed on over with a confident smile. "You always do such good work. Why don't you take the day off, it's been rather slow today as it is. That and you look rather exhausted, hun."

Sighing, Priam nodded. "I am...six people, healing all those injuries and whatnot... it gets to you. Anyway, I'll head over to Fanandi, I have this bad feeling in my chest. Today was ridiculous, outside of one patient with Gout everyone has gotten hurt collecting herbs or just existing outside of the Town. Five different monster attacks... All of these injuries, the increase in monsters, the darkness filling so many dreams. I cannot shake that something is coming."

"I would never ask you to ignore your intuition... just be careful, you know the knights still don't like you using your magic so freely."

Letting out a long suffering sigh, Priam nodded. "I remember... they would never let me forget..." he shivered, remembering the beatings he got as a child, before Telma took him in. The knights of Hyrule were many things, noble was never one of them. They were close minded, cowardly and useless in a real fight, something Telma ensured Priam knew from the moment he came into her care. That he, a civilian, could overpower most of the Knights without much issue was a sign of their incompetence.

Leaving Telma's bar, he moved up the stairs and then down the busy street into Fanandi's place. The air of mysticism, though mostly for show to attract money from gullible morons, belied the raw skill and power Fanandi truly had. A competent witch and power seer, she was a highly undervalued resource among those in Hyrule. Working under her, again through Telma's aid, had allowed him to means to become a skilled sorcerer in his own right.

She was sitting behind her table, smiling at him with her rosy cheeks and odd garb. "Hello, my dear... I foresee that you have a question for me."

"I do... why are the monsters increasing in number and why do I feel so... wrong." he looked down at his hands. "I feel a distant cold, a darkness in the air."

Fanandi sighed. "I foresaw this, not your question but the events in question. Great power is rising, but I cannot detect where. You are to play a role in this, that much is known to me." She focused her powers into her orb. "I cannot tell where this power originates from but I can tell you where to look into it... to gain the answers you see, go to the Eldin Province, to Kakariko village. There is where you will find all you need to know... bring your blade, the one you've enchanted, for things will not be easy on your journey."

Nodding, Priam turned. "Very well... I will prepare and leave at sunset. Thank you, Fanandi."

"Never a problem child... be safe and be careful."

"Always."

Chapter end, tell me what you think in the reviews.

This was a lot of fun, small though it was.
