Raven pov
With everything that was changing at Ever After it should not have taken long for Raven to go in to see Andrea. Especially since she was the one to first openly rebel against her own story. But Raven Queen now heir to the Good Kingdom just didn't know what to make of everything that was currently happening. Her roommate would not speak of what had been spoken between herself and Andrea; and for some strange reason her brother would always try to change the subject whenever the topic of Andrea came up in conversation. But the other students that dared to go speak with Andrea all seemed happier after a session with her.
You would think that things would be better for her now that her fate had changed but she was still unsure of herself. Even though now she knew the vision that she saw was a trick that fear was still there that what she was doing was wrong. But while speaking to Cerise in the common room that today finally made her consider going to speak with Andrea.
"I just don't know Cerise, I mean out of everyone I should be glad that she's here and that she is helping but...with everything going on I just don't want to get my hopes up." Raven explained and that in its self was one of the biggest problems after years of not having any, hope was right in front of her and she was afraid to reach out and hold it.
"Well Raven, Ashlynn and Cedar seem a lot happier now and they were already rebels. Even Daring went to see Andrea earlier today and he seems to be a lot happier and he was like King of the Royals before he left Apple's story." Cerise said trying to reassure her friend.
"Really?! Daring went to see her, did he tell you anything about what they talked about?" Raven asked.
"He won't tell me yet, I have to beat him in a game of basketball first! But he did say that he felt a lot better and then he-" Cerise paused as a blush began to cover her cheeks. "Anyways you should go see Andrea if you really want too. You never know what could come from it."
That was all the motivation she needed to finally go see Andrea, after all if someone like Daring Charming who has always seemed to have the perfect story can admit that he needed help then why couldn't she do the same thing.
Andrea Pov
After Daring left the my office two things were now on my mind one I really need to start working on that bending test, which I guess I could do tomorrow since I most likely will not be seeing anyone since Spring something is happening soon. And two I really need to find a way to get the students' parents to agree with me performing the test. If I can get this done without the Headmaster finding out that would be hexcellent! Wait when did I start using hexcellent? Oh look the office is changing again into a Gothic looking place, hmm reminds me of home.
Normal Pov
Even though from what she already heard Raven had no reason to be nervous she couldn't help but to feel that way at first. But when she finally entered the office she felt a little better as she looked around the space.
"Hi, Andrea? I'm Raven Queen." Raven says as she approaches Andrea's desks. "Nice office it looks wicked."
"Thanks, but I'm not the reason for it looking this way right now. I casted a spell when I got here to make the office take the form of whatever would make the student the most comfortable!" Andrea pauses to take a curious look at Raven for a second. "Raven you wouldn't happen to be relate to a Rotbart would you?"
Raven looks at Andrea in shock, "Yea, he's my brother but no one really talk about it. In fact I think you're the first person to have ever asked if I'm related to him. Most people would never guess it because we look so different." So Rotty came to see Andrea I don't remember him mentioning it. But it does explain why he changes the subject whenever I bring anything up about Andrea.
"Oh, well I wasn't judging based on looks you two have very similar magical signatures, that usually only happens when people are related to each other. Trust me I could never guess if someone is related to someone else based off of looks especially when you come from a family like mine." Andrea explained. "But enough of that I'm sure you came here today to talk about something, so whenever you're ready we can begin."
Raven took a deep breathe. "It all started when I refused to sign the Story Book of Legends on Legacy, you see I'm the daughter of the Evil Queen and pretty much my whole everyone expected me to follow in my mother's footsteps but I never wanted too. All my life people have seen me as evil when that's not true…at least a lot more people use to think I was evil, not so much now. Even though everyone found out that the Story Book of Legends was a fake; and I'm now officially heir to the Good Kingdom I can't help feeling like maybe I'm wrong for what I'm doing."
"Well, Raven not to sound cliché but I know how you feel, been there my whole life everyone sees me as trouble because of who my father is. I know it's hard having to always prove yourself but I've learned that you can either let that bother you for the rest of your life or you can enjoy proving everyone wrong." Andrea proclaims.
"I don't know Andrea, it's kind of hard to prove people wrong when even my magic can't seem to agree with me half the time. Whenever I try to do something positive something negative always happens instead. I don't know maybe the only thing I can do is be evil." Raven says with a sigh.
"Don't they have classes in this school to teach you how to control your powers?" Andrea asked as she shook her head.
"Yes, but none of the other classes will let me in only the ones for villains, it's just as well the only magic I can do is dark magic anyways." Raven says in a hopeless tone.
"Raven, if there is one thing I've learned is that the is no such thing as good, bad, light or dark magic is magic what someone chooses to do with it is what makes it good or evil. If you seriously don't want to cause harm but it ends up happening instead then that's just lack of control and nothing else." Andrea explains while putting a hand on Raven's shoulder.
"Then I guess I wish that I could have something or someone to teach me better control." Raven said while looking at Andrea.
"Hmm, I might have just thing back at home. It's a book I used when I was learning about different ways I could use my magic. I can get it to you tomorrow...wait no that Spring holiday is tomorrow and there is something else I need to get done. How about the next day I'll get you the book then and if you need any help or have any questions then I'll be happy to help you out with it." Andrea suggested.
"Really, you would do that for me?! But you don't even know me how can you trust me so easily?" Raven asked.
"It's like I said before Raven, I know how you feel plus if you even tried to double cross me I can end you in a second. I am way more powerful then both you and your brother combined. Hell my uncle Zeus is afraid of me and he rules well everything, so yeah not worried about anything right now." Andrea says in a deadpanned voice.
"Speaking of my brother, you wouldn't happened to be able to tell me what you two spoke about would you?" Raven says trying to change the subject. "He's often hard to read and its always been even harder to get him to open up about things going on with him."
"Sorry, Raven I stick to my rule about not talking about what goes on in this office even though technically Rotbart didn't have a session and he is your brother only said person in question can answer that for you." Andrea explained.
"But! He's never going to open up about it willing though." Raven says annoyed." He'll probably pretend that it never happened if I asked."
"If you're really that concern Raven, I have no rule about you pretending that you know what I spoke to your brother about, and if it will get him to talk then you should go for it." Andrea says with a smirk.
"But Andrea isn't that kind of you know...bad?" Raven questioned. "After all I would be tricking him into giving me answers."
"Key word there being BAD Raven but not evil there is a difference." Andrea states. "Besides something tells me that it would just impress him if you do managed to pull this little trick."
"Thanks for the advice but why are you encouraging me to do this to my own brother?" Raven asked.
"Because I too have a brother, actually I have brothers and the only way you can get them to talk sometimes is if you already know their secrets." Andrea explained. "If that makes any sense at all!"
"That doesn't really make any sense to me Andrea, no offense." Raven states still confused.
"None taken, and besides brothers never make any sense all the time anyway only sometimes."Andrea says with a laugh as she watches Raven leave the room. Besides if you act like you know what's going on Rotbart will get upset and come back to see me sooner.
Andrea Pov
After my talk with Raven I hadn't gotten any more students coming to see me, so I decided to go mediate near a lake that's kind of away from the school. Mostly because I just realized that I never felt any spiritual connections in this realm it's as if they didn't have any at all. Which can't be possible after all how could this world stay in balance if there is not a spirit world within here somewhere.
Rotbart Pov
After that day in Andrea's office I wanted nothing to do with her, it really was a that shame she couldn't have been the evil monster everyone believed she was going to be. At least then it would have made the so called Royals and Rebels uncomfortable, then I might have found something enjoyable about her presence here. But alas it was just the opposite everyone but Apple White which was begrudgingly the only silver lining I had seemed to be slowly warming up to her. At least I know that there was nothing she could do to force me to have to deal with her again.
At least so he had thought until he had spoken with his sister during lunchtime. He wasn't surprised when she told him she had went to see Andrea after all she had brought her up in conversation a few times already he was surprised though when he learned that Andrea was going to give Raven a book that would help her gain better control of her powers.
"So just like that after one session she's just going to give you this book no questions asked?" Rotbart asked suspiciously.
"Well of course she did warn me that I could never get away with double crossing her, not that I would but she does seem very powerful. And I'm not just saying that because of what she did for Cedar, did you know our magical signatures are so similar that Andrea knew we were related in some way?! Of course another reason why I'm glad I saw her is because we got to talk about you, I can't believe you went in after Apple!" Raven proclaimed not realizing how her last sentence might have sounded to Rotbart.
"Oh really, and did you guys have a nice long discussion about how I'm Apple's prince? Huh because for some strange reason Andrea thinks that I was flirting with Apple in the hallway the first day she arrived. And since I was the only one to come into the office right after Apple, it must be because I'm some 'noble prince' and not a villain. Or did you guys get a kick out of how Andrea believes that I would actually be willing to go see her again!" Rotbart questioned clearly pissed off.
Raven at first was so completely shocked during her brother's rant. But after a while she couldn't help but to start laughing. "Oh my godmother, she was right I can't believe that it really worked that easily!"
"What are you on about?" Rotbart asked still pissed.
"First off Rotbart, the only thing that I talked about with Andrea besides us being siblings was how she wouldn't go into detail about what you two discussed." Raven begins explaining while still laughing.
"Wait but you said-" Rotbart was now confused.
"All I said was 'why didn't you tell me that you went after Apple?' as in went to see Andrea after Apple finished talking to her not 'why didn't you tell me you went to rescue Apple?'" Raven explains while still laughing. "I really have to remember what she said about pretending to know what's going on with you to get answers out of you because it works!"
Cut to later that day
After hearing his sister's explanation he couldn't help but think back to the day he meet Andrea and remembered how pissed off she made him feel that day. And now a few days later she managed to find another way to piss him off again this time using his own sister. Times like this he liked to go for a swim to calm his nerves, a part of him just wanted to find a way to get back at Andrea for causing him all this trouble, but the other more reasonable part of himself didn't want to dare mess with the child of Hades. So going swimming was going to have to be the next best thing to do for now. Well it was going to be until he found Andrea near one of his favorite lakes. She appeared to be in a deep state of mediation, curious now Rotbart turned himself into an owl and flew up to a tree branch close by Andrea and began to watch her.
Andrea Pov
This lake was so calm and peaceful which is very important thing for me when I'm trying to mediate. But there is nothing here at all which doesn't make any sense. I've always known that I would never be able to sense spiritual things as strongly as other air benders but making a connection shouldn't be this hard!
My mediation was interrupted when I sensed a presence near the lake which at first put me on edge until I realized that I already knew this person's magical signature. Although I do find it amusing that he would think that turning into an owl would throw me off.
Andrea decided it would be fun to return the favor by throwing him off as well. So before Rotbart had time to react Andrea had hit him with an air blast that cause the owl to fly out of the tree and into the lake.
In his shock Rotbart and turned back in to his human form before falling head first into the water. When he resurfaced he found Andrea laughing at him from where she was mediating.
"WHAT THE HEX?!" Rotbart yelled while standing up and walking towards her.
"YOU! Tried to throw me off with your spying by turning into an owl so I decided to return the favor!" Andrea explained as she continued to laugh.
"I was not spying...I wanted to go for a swim and you just so happen to be here so I decided to wait until you were done!" Rotbart says while moving his arm up in down little did he notice the water behind him going up and down in his fit.
"So why did you need to turn into a bird?" Andrea asked with a smirk acting as if she didn't see the water moving during his rant, on top of that his hair looked like it was flaming which brought her much confusion since he was clearly a water bender.
Rotbart said nothing as he stood on the lake in front of her godmother did he really hated her damn smirk so much!
"Exactly! So Rotbart it's been a few days now besides the fact that you were spying on me what have you been up too?! Are you going to the Spring Fairest thing tomorrow?" Andrea asked.
"You mean besides the fact that you got my sister to trick me into talking about our last meeting?" Rotbart begins sarcastically. "Oh well things have been just peachy! And the Spring Fairest really why would I even go to that?!"
"Well I'm so glad to hear it Rotbart, you know for a second there I thought you might have been pissed but alas you are not!" Andrea replied back clearly mocking him. "As for the Spring Fairest it could be fun you know rides some rides, play some games, enjoy covering Apple in caramel!"
"Excuse me what was that last part?!" Rotbart questions darkly.
"I said have a caramel cover apple or you know whatever other fair foods they have!" Andrea continues on with her smirk they both know that sentence was a lie.
"You know what I'm really getting sick and tired of your presence! Why can't you just focus on the simple minded other students at the school and leave me be!" Rotbart ranted.
"Ok first off your sister is one of those as you put it 'simple minded students' and so your princess, secondly besides said sister who else around here do you have that you're able to talk to freely with, and lastly the reason why I'm focusing on you right now is because-" Andrea trailed off.
"Well because of what?" Rotbart asked demandingly.
"You know what I'm not gonna tell you the answer to this right now you're just not ready." Andrea says while shaking her head at him.
"Ready for what exactly? You can't just not tell me, I have to know the answer!" Rotbart shouted.
"Oh Rotbart, if only I could but alas once again I say I cannot you're just not ready to hear it yet but I'm sure if we give it some time you will be ready soon." Andrea explained.
"If this is some kind of trick to get me to pour my feelings out to you then you will be sadly mistaken because it won't work on me." Rotbart counters back.
"Oh Rotbart, really how blind do you think I am of course you won't be pouring your feelings out to me at least not right now, no this is about something else completely different." Andrea said confidently.
"Then what is this about?" Rotbart was now curious, everything he was learning about this demi-goddess only seemed to confuse and annoy him.
"It's like I said before Rotbart who in this school besides your sister you can really talk too freely, without you wanting to hit something afterwards...besides Apple White anyways. You need someone for whom you can talk to and I've decided that it will be me because as much as you think you can hide yourself from me sadly you really cannot, so why don't you just humor me and play nicely...well as much as you can anyways. You don't even have to talk about your feelings we can just have intelligent conversations together." Andrea explained.
Rotbart paused for a second to think he really hated this girl but he had to admit she was right about him not having someone to talk to that was up to his level and he was curious to find out what she thought she had on him. "You really are full of yourself you know that! Alright then I'll humor you for now only until I get bored of you of course." Rotbart says with a glare.
"Good I need to be on my way home, see you later Rotbart!" Andrea says with glee as she heads back towards the school. "And do reconsider going to the Spring Fairest you never know what could happen!" I can't believe what I just saw of this just proves everything that Matthew told me is true! There really are benders here and if the sessions weren't already a reason to do this test then seeing Rotbart bend the water in his anger was definitely the push I needed to get moving.
Well that's it for today next chapter should be a mix of adding new characters and Spring Unsprung until next time please read and review.
