Lukas was on his laptop viewing the multitude of files from the drive he had obtained a few nights ago. It was a lot cozier in his room too. 2 nights ago, he had left his original hideout and taken up residence in a decent motel. He typically kept his weapons hidden in locked cases under the beds. He had spoken to the front office clerk and gave her $4000 up front to stay for as long as he needed to. The clerk agreed without question and handed him the key to the room he was currently in. As a precaution, he gave the clerk the fake name of Klaus Rammstein. He also purchased a used sport bike that he used for transportation. Hy typically did a lot of BKA-ASE security detail on a motorcycle back in Germany. A high brow diplomat was once photographed on the bike clutching Lukas's chest. So far, he again was unfollowed and the motel staff left him alone during the day. Unfortunately, Ela and Monika would not leave him alone. Along with the constant text messages, they both had left voicemails.
"Lukas, please. Answer me. We haven't heard from you in almost a week," was Monika's message to him which, admittedly, was a lot less angry than Ela's which was
"LUKAS WEISS! WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU?! I HAVE BEEN WORRIED SICK! YOU BARELY SAID ANYTHING TO ME AFTER THE MEMORIAL SERVICE AND THEN I FIND OUT YOU'RE MISSING?! YOU BETTER HAVE AN IRONCLAD REASON FOR DOING THIS TO ME...AND MONIKA!" Lukas had regretfully put his phone on silent and do not disturb following that...but it had just dinged as if he had a message.
"Blasted fuckin'..." Lukas muttered and turned the screen towards him. A reminder had popped up and said "Tina's Birthday. Make sure Derrick remembers." He bowed his head. Tina's birthday. Something Derrick had been looking forward to back in early April before his mission. His favorite part was that Tina's birthday happened to be Star Wars Day. Lukas grinned to himself when he remembered how happy Derrick was at this information but quickly shook his head.
"No, not now. Focus. You've got a lead," he said to himself and put the phone back down. The other night, following yet another White Mask killing spree (resulting in the brutal death of Havoc), he had gotten a lead on Dread. 1 of the other men behind the attack in Washington State. Apparently, he was going to be at a meeting in a few days and "Those Rainbow fucks will have no idea." They'd have to deal with him however. Much to his satisfaction, the "Fenrir" moniker had begun to make its rounds among the White Masks. Lukas recalled how great it had felt when a White Mask saw him 2 nights ago and simply shouted "IT'S THAT FENRIR GUY! WE'RE DEAD!" The TV happened to be on in the motel room with the evening news. Lukas mainly kept it on for noise and as a distraction from his phone and the constant messages.
"In other news, the terrorist group known as the White Masks has been silent for a few days due to the apparent interference of a masked vigilante," Lukas looked up from the computer and turned the volume up.
"The vigilante is described as a 6 foot tall man wearing all black and gray armor and wearing a wolf-like helmet with glowing red eyes. Citizens are advised to keep their distance from him if they spot him. We actually spoke to a young citizen who was apparently saved by this vigilante. She had this to say," Lukas smiled slightly when the young woman from the other night appeared on screen. She still looked as scared as she was when Lukas saved her from being sexually assaulted by Havoc. Apparently, this Havoc guy was a convicted rapist along with being part of an international terrorist group.
"I was being attacked by a group of those monsters. One of them seemed like he was the leader and kept saying 'I get her first!' I thought I was going to be gang-raped and then murdered before he showed up. This tall guy. Spoke with a European accent...or was it American. I don't know. Either way, he just...he just absolutely murdered these men. It was like 5 against 1 but the wolf dude easily beat them all without breaking a sweat. Then the wolf guy said something like 'Havoc. You orchestrated the Washington Attack. Time to pay.' and then...then he broke the guy's arm...viciously. And then he used the exposed bone to stab him in the eye...I think...That's what it looked like from the back. I didn't watch. The wolf guy led me away from the area and to a safe place. I asked him what he's doing it for and he said like 2 words. I think it was like 'For Larry' or 'For Maverick' or something. I don't know. I thought it was just the name of his father or something. He says he only wants to harm the White Masks. They must have wronged him in the past," the young woman explained. Lukas nodded as he listened to her story. She got most of it right. That was how he dispatched Havoc. These men deserved no mercy.
"We also spoke with a special forces soldier stationed in the area who had this to say about the vigilante," Lukas dropped the remote.
"Oh fuck me running…" Lukas said as he saw Meghan appear on the screen identified as her codename of Valkyrie rather than her real name.
"The vigilante is operating outside the US Army and their allies. We have no leads on who it could be or why he is doing this. Rest assured, we are monitoring his activities and will close in once we have his location. The White Masks are our responsibility. Not this so-called vigilante's. Oh and we are still looking for one of our members who has gone missing. If anyone has seen a man dressed in combat fatigues and speaks with a German accent, please let the police know his location immediately. They know to call us. His sister is beyond worried. We already lost one of our own recently and we can't lose another so fast," Meghan said. Lukas saw that she was barely able to finish the last sentence without sounding upset. She still was taking the loss of Derrick pretty hard and since Lukas was the younger brother of the woman she liked, she must be doing all she can to keep Monika from going crazy.
"Dammit…" Lukas said and grabbed his phone. Thankfully, no new messages but he felt like he needed to tell someone that he was ok. But who? Jordan? No, he'd go right to Eliza. Craig? Nah. Zofia? Absolutely not. She was Ela's sister and most likely knew about himself and Ela by now. Elena? Maybe. Or maybe...Tina? Yeah, that might be ok. Lukas hovered over Tina's conversation on his phone. Should he do this? He thought for 30 more seconds before he made his choice. Ela was going to kill him later.
"Hey Tina, relax. I'm alright. I just wanted to say Happy Birthday." he texted. Within 10 seconds a reply came in.
"I figured. Luke...Monika is like...frantic. Ela is PISSED. Eliza has no idea what to do. She was threatening expulsion before Monika and I stepped in. What are you doing?" her message said. Lukas's stomach dropped. Expulsion? Shit.
"I'm hunting for him."
"Who?"
"The one who caused you and Meghan to cry yourselves to sleep every night."
"...Kill him." Lukas raised his eyebrows upon reading this. Wow. She must really want Lukas to do this.
"Look what he sent me. I miss him so much. That White Mask fuck took him away from me. I want him dead." Another message came through followed by a photo of a bouquet of flowers and a note written in Derrick's handwriting. It said "The Jedi Masters tell me that attachment is forbidden...but I'm willing to break that rule for you. Happy Birthday Tina, I love you. From Derrick" Lukas smiled and nodded at the photo.
"Nice one buddy," he said to himself. Derrick must have set that delivery up before he was killed.
"Are you at the condo?"
"Yes. I got the night off."
"I need to stay off the grid until I find that guy alright? I've got a lead on one of his allies. Tell Mon and Ela I'm fine but don't tell them about this. For Derrick."
"Alright. For Derrick."

Turns out that the conversation with Tina didn't go as smoothly as Lukas hoped for. Not that Tina would go right to Ash with it, but Monika and Ela now knew that he had spoken with her rather than them. The messages that followed were BRUTAL.
"YOU TALKED TO HER OVER ME?! ARE YOU SEEING HER NOW THAT DERRICK'S GONE?! I SWEAR TO GOD WHEN I FIND YOU..."
"LUKAS. ANSWER ME RIGHT FUCKING NOW. WHERE. ARE. YOU." That time he had answered his sister and...girlfriend? Yeah...at least for now she was.
"Tracking those responsible. I will face my punishment." was the message that was sent to both women. The bad news was that his phone was later destroyed one evening when it took a stray bullet during a shoot out with a White Mask squad.
Great...now they're definitely going to kill me, Lukas thought to himself as he executed the White Mask squad leader with Derrick's Deagle. Thankfully, his main objective was all that he was focused on the following evening. Kill the man known as Dread. The intel he got from the flash drive had contained information about a meeting this evening in this abandoned parking lot in the middle of fuck all no where. Lukas kept to the shadows and waited with the M240 LMG in his hands. He had 300 rounds to unleash upon his new targets. Normally, this weapon was fired either on a bipod or with 2 hands but Lukas was so bulky that he normally fired this weapon like he was John Rambo or Arnold Schwartzenegger in Commando. One handed while using his other hand to feed the belt into the weapon. He had been standing there for about 45 minutes and began to second guess himself as to whether or not this meeting was even going to happen when a small group of cars pulled into the lot. Lukas could see the men's masks from his hiding place and made himself more hidden. 12 men left the cars along with a man dressed in a black overcoat...and one dressed in white with an RPG-7 on his back. Lukas's eyes widened with anger under his helmet upon seeing the guy in white. He had found him. This was the man who shot Derrick out of the sky. This was the man who had made Meghan, Tina and Lukas's life less fun. He nearly went in guns blazing but decided not to for the time being. He had to be sure. A lot of these guys dressed in similar outfits. This dude needed to talk. He'll know then. The man in black started speaking.
"Were you followed Flak?"
"Don't think so Dread. What are we talking about again? HEY, DID YOU JUST LAUGH AT ME?!" Flak answered. Lukas's finger twitched on the trigger of the M240. He recognized that voice. But was it? He needed him to say a specific phrase. A gunshot rang throughout the parking lot.
"What'd you do that for?!" a man yelled angrily.
"Oops, did I do that?" Flak answered. Lukas stifled a yell of rage. Yes. Flak was definitely the guy who taunted him about Derrick. He had done it. It took about a week but he knew who it was now. Lukas, with shaking hands, took out one of his enhanced sonic grenades and began to prime it to full charge. His helmet also protected his own ears from the ultra damaging soundwaves but these guys were in for a world of hurt.
"Have you heard of this Fenrir character? He took out Havoc a few days ago. Honestly, I hated that guy. He was a bit of a creep," Dread said.
"You haven't figured it out dumbass? Rainbow was there in Washington. I saw them before I blasted their evac dude out of the air. Remind me, what was the description of Fenrir again," Flak responded.
"Big tall guy, blonde hair I think. Special Forces...German maybe?" Dread rattled off.
"Ok, did you or did you not see the 3 person Rainbow Team they sent in to 'take care' of us?" Flak asked.
"I think I did. One was a woman, a redhead. There was another guy with a long beard and the third one was….oh my fucking god…" Dread said.
"Yes? Would you like to explain your findings to the class?" Flak asked excitedly.
"It's the other guy! Fenrir's part of Rainbow!" Dread exclaimed to general astonishment from the crowd.
"You could have found that out earlier by taking a dee you aech test," Flak responded as Lukas got ready to make his move. This Flak guy was going to die first.
"A what test?"
"A DUUUUUUHHHH! Come on man, the guy is hunting the people responsible for the fun we had in Washington! He must be a friend of that Air Force guy or something, my br-" Flak said before Lukas heard the sound of a phone ringing. "Gotta take this Big D. It's the Big Bro. Yeeeeello!...right….ok...Talkin with Dread why?...Oh...Oh I see. Right...right yes, I'll hold up there. Thanks bro. Bye. Welp, this has been funsies Big D but I gots to jet and YOUUUU get to riddle Fenrir with bullets," Flak said and it sounded like he got into one of the cars. Lukas cocked an eyebrow to no one in particular. How did they know he was here?
"Pardon?" Dread asked.
"The guy is right over behind that tree. Saw him from the road. Consider it an early Christmas present from Uncle Flak! Toodles!" Flak said and drove off. Lukas looked behind him. Sure enough there was a street behind him and he realized that he was easily visible from it.
"Fuck it," Lukas said before adressing the group at large "FACE THE UNBOUND! FACE FENRIR!"
Immediately after Flak left, bullets flew all around Lukas. At least the sonic grenade was primed to full. This bad boy was about to rupture some eardrums. Lukas waited for the White Masks to reload and he hurled his sonic grenade in their direction. Upon making contact with the ground, the grenade exploded and released the most ear splitting scream ever heard by humans. Lukas himself didn't get the full blast of it. What he heard sounded like he played "Painkiller" at around 70% volume in some headphones. Uncomfortable yes, but his ears weren't currently bleeding. Unlike the 12 or so men in the area who had gotten full blast of it. As Lukas cocked the M240 and stepped out from behind the tree he was using as cover, he saw the carnage his sonic grenades could do now. Every single White Mask was clutching their ears in sheer agony and he could see blood running down each of their necks. Lukas began to unload on the White Masks and their vehicles. Rounds pierced bodies and metal alike. Bodies fell to the ground with multiple bullet wounds and the vehicles smoked and burst into flames. Lukas fired all 500 rounds into the area but left one of them alive. The man dressed in the black overcoat. Dread tried to shoot Lukas but he was still in pain from the sonic attack on his ears. Lukas batted the pistol out of Dread's hands and picked him up by the lapels
"WHERE IS HE!" he growled into Dread's face. Did no good. There was no way in hell Dread could hear him.
"YOU!" Dread yelled.
"Me." Lukas responded, drew his knife and jammed it into Dread's forehead through his mask. Lukas dropped Dread on the ground, removed his knife from Dread's now mushy brain, and began to rifle through his body for anything useful. Yet again, he found another flash drive. Why do these idiots always keep flash drive on th-
"HANDS UP, NOW!" A voice from behind him rang out in the night. Lukas knew who this was without having to turn around but he did so anyway. He turned to see Meghan Castellano, Ela Bosak and his sister standing there with guns pointing at him. That night he had tucked his hair under the collar of his shirt and jacket so Monika didn't notice him immediately and upon hearing Meghan's voice for the first time, he held himself differently than usual but the darkness helped disguise him too. He was surprised that Monika didn't immediately scream his name. After all, he had just hurled a sonic grenade in the area and those things didn't exactly have a "silent" mode. She and the others must have been right outside of the sound's area of effect.
"On the ground," Meghan ordered, motioning to the ground with her own SMG. Lukas didn't move. He stood there with his hands up making lightning fast calculations on what to do. He had a flash grenade as well as a smoke grenade on his belt but he needed to reach at least one of them, pull the pin and throw it all within 5 seconds lest his sister commit fratricide. Lukas's mind landed on an idea. It was beyond stupid but it could potentially give him enough time to get the grenade out. He needed to do some kind of maneuver that was unexpected.
"Special Forces? I have been doing your job for you it seems," Lukas said, adding a lot more rasp to his voice so none of them could recognize it. It seemed to work.
"On the ground," Meghan repeated and leveled her SMG at Lukas's chest.
"You won't shoot me...Navy Seal? Most impressive. I do not recommend trying that, my left side is dominant," Lukas said and turned his head to Ela who had been attempting to flank him. It wasn't but Ela hesitated regardless and turned to Meghan for orders.
"I won't say it again. On the ground, with hands on your head or I will shoot," Meghan said. Lukas compiled this time and slowly got to the ground while keeping his hands in the air. As soon as his knees touched the ground, Lukas performed a commando roll and at the same time grabbed the flash grenade, pulled the pin and slammed it in the ground. The 3 women, while well trained, weren't quite prepared for this move. All 3 of them didn't cover their eyes in time and were blinded by the grenade. Lukas himself was immune to the grenade's effects due to his helmet's specialized lenses. Monika had helped develop a special pair of glasses for Warden and she had told him how she had done it one day. He had decided to use the same type of lenses for his own helmet. He ran back into the shadows of the treeline and waited for the 3 women to leave. He even threw a smoke grenade in the complete opposite direction while the Rainbow Ops recovered from the flashbang. They fell for it and Ela ran into the smoke before he heard her say "fuck" in Polish.
"He got away!" Ela's voice shouted in English.
"Fucking Christ, we had him. This guy is clearly ex-military or something. The hell accent was that by the way?" Meghan's voice asked.
"No idea. But he seems to be taking the wolf persona a little too serious," Monika's voice said. Lukas had peeked out from behind the tree to watch and he could see Meghan smile slightly whenever Monika said a word with an "r" sound in it. At any other time, Lukas would have found that really sweet but he needed to amscray, and fast.
"Any word from Luke?" Meghan asked tentatively. Lukas heard the sound of someone punching metal.
"I'm taking that as a no…" Meghan said.
"He'll talk to Tina over me. When I find him...I'll...I'll…" Ela's voice answered before Lukas saw her falter and wipe her eyes. Monika walked over and held onto her shoulder. To his surprise, she let Monika do so.
"We know he's alive...unlike these guys. Goodness…the others weren't kidding when they said he was ruthless. Looks like he's a skilled marksman too. Most of his shots were on target. Oh my, look at that one..." Monika said and gestured around at the dead White Masks and Dread. Lukas decided that now was the time to leave. Afterall, he needed to find Flak's location.

That wasn't the only time Lukas encountered his old teammates while out on the prowl. He barely evaded Zofia one evening and had to use another flashbang on Elena about 2 nights later.
"YOU! LOBO! ON THE AHH!" was what Elena said before getting blinded. The past week he had been scouring buildings for any trace of Flak. On that flash drive he obtained from Dread, he had found a list of White Mask safehouses. There were about 4 of them. He'd already checked 3 of them and promptly left a right mess while taking any supplies/food he needed from them. Hopefully this last safehouse was the one where Flak was in. He was so close. So fucking close. This would be the night he would avenge Derrick. He could feel it in his bones. If he died too, so be it. That night, he approached the address of the building. It was a tall building, roughly 6 or 7 stories with a helicopter on the roof, a guard tower nearby and 2 guards outside. Idiots. The guy in the guard tower ate a sniper bullet to the head and the other 2 got to see how sharp Lukas's knife was. Lukas entered the building and began to clear the floors one by one as stealthily as he could. He didn't want Flak to find out that he was here just yet. Plus he needed to confirm if Flak was even here. He came across a security room on one of the floors and after eliminating the guard, began to look at the cameras. He located his target at once. He was on the top floor playing cards with a few others.
"This is it, asshole. You don't leave here alive," Lukas said to himself and took out the M240 again and cocked the bolt back. He estimated that he had about 5 minutes at most to get to Flak's location. Potentially less. Fuck it. The time was now. He had spent 2 weeks away from Ela and Monika to do this. Lukas kicked open the opposite door and unleashed Ragnarok.
Oh they knew he was here. Basically an entire squadron of around 25 men were waiting for him on the upper floors along with an attack chopper. Lukas dove for cover as bullets began flying all over the place and people shouting orders. He kept his ears peeled for one voice. He heard it as he mowed down 4 White Masks with a burst of LMG fire.
"THERE HE IS! Come to take out little old me?! Are you all mad that I shot your friend out of the sky, little Fenrir?" Flak's voice taunted over a speaker system. Lukas yelled in rage and threw 2 sonic grenades at once. The reverberating scream shook the room and men screamed in pain. Lukas popped out from behind cover and held the trigger on the LMG down until it clicked empty and every White Mask was on the ground filled with lead. Lukas threw the LMG aside and drew Derrick's Deagle. He sprinted to the stairs but was cut off by machine gun fire from an attack helicopter which was a few hundred centimeters from the window. Lukas dove for cover and unloaded a few shots in its direction. 2 went wide but the 3rd caused a splatter of red and pink to appear on the chopper's windshield and it crashed into the building and exploded. The building shook from the impact while Lukas ran full speed up the stairs. He could hear laughter coming from the roof access door. The door slammed as Lukas rounded the corner but not before he caught a glimpse of a white overcoat. Lukas ran full speed at the door and kicked it clear off its hinges. He spotted Flak climbing into a chopper about 10 meters away. Lukas ran like an angry bull at the chopper but it began to lift off. A spotlight hit him as he ran but his eyes were focused on the chopper. Flak was closing the door as the chopper rose off the roof of the building. Lukas had one shot. One. He jumped and managed to grab hold of the chopper's landing skids. Lukas used his upper body strength to climb up onto the skid and open the pilot door. The pilot tried to kick him off but Lukas's body absorbed the kick. Lukas punched him in the face and yanked him out of the cockpit and he fell to the ground screaming. The other guy attempted to draw a gun but Lukas batted it aside and used his knife to stab him in the throat. The gun had fired though, right into the chopper's controls. Lukas attempted to stop the chopper from spinning out of control but he wasn't a trained pilot and the chopper crashed onto the roof and Lukas blacked out.
After what felt like an eternity, Lukas came to. He was lying on the roof and bathed in white light. The lenses on his helmet were cracked and he could no longer see out of them so he ripped it off his head as his vision blurred. Again, he kept the lower half of his face obscured so the entire world wouldn't recognize him as Weiss-enheimer from Time Warp. The chopper he had crashed was in flames. Lukas got to his feet weakly and saw that Flak had stumbled his way out of the chopper. He turned towards Lukas and laughed. Even though half of his face was obscured, Flak could recognize him. Lukas had been wearing a mask similar to this one that day in Washington as well.
"I was right! You are the giant dude from Washington!" He said gleefully before singing "I shot your friend! I shot the Air Force guy!"
"That, was the worst thing you could possibly say to me," Lukas said.
"Oh no! You're going to attack me? What for?" Flak said sarcastically.
"For the man you murdered. For my best friend. For Derrick," Lukas said and lunged at Flak. Lukas's fist connected with the side of Flak's head and he stumbled backwards.
"Ooh, so Fenrir's got some claws then? FINE!" Flak said and the 2 men began to fight fiercely. Lukas, despite his bulk, was actually very fast and that surprised Flak. He was also fueled by vengeance. Lukas mercilessly pummeled Flak with punches and kicks. Flak attempted to fight back but the only exposed part of Lukas's body was his head and that was a relatively small target compared to the rest of him. Flak was able to draw his pistol and actually managed to get under Lukas's armor and graze his calf with a shot. Flak had been aiming for his head but Lukas's fist had other plans. Lukas fell to his knees in pain and Flak took the time to fire another shot into Lukas's shoulder. Why did he always get blasted in the shoulder. Flak took aim at his exposed head next and pulled the hammer back.
"Down boy," Flak said. Unfortunately for Flak, he was not paying attention to Lukas's hands. Lukas had quickly drawn his back up knife which was sheathed in his boot and sliced it upwards. It lodged itself in Flak's hand. Clean through it. Blood dripped all over the roof from Flak's mangled hand. The gun fell to the ground as Flak yelled in pain and Lukas rugby tackled him to the ground. Lukas punched Flak in the face over and over until his mask also had streaks of red on it. Lukas reached over and grabbed a nearby steel cable and wrapped it around the dazed Flak's neck. Lukas made him get to his feet and he took out a piece of folded card stock and a heavy duty stapler from his belt. It was a makeshift sign with an arrow pointing upward and the text under it read "This man killed Derrick Castellano."
"The...the Air Force guy….he's alive…The Butcher has him," Flak choked. Lukas punched him in the face again
"YOU LIAR!" Lukas roared. "YOU KILLED HIM!" Lukas placed the card stock against Flak's chest and punched the stapler into it 4 times. Flak screamed in pain as 4 heavy duty staples were lodged into his chest and abdomen. Lukas threw the staple gun aside and drew Derrick's Deagle again.
"I'll tell you where...my broth...my brother knows…." Flak said again, grasping at Lukas's fingers and at his chest. Brother? That's right. This fucker had a brother. Ironic.
"You know who ELSE had a brother? Meghan Castellano. YOU TOOK HIM FROM HER! THE TIME HAS COME FLAK!" Lukas pistol whipped Flak in the face.
"NO! PLEASE! HE'S ALIVE! I SWEAR HE IS! PLEASE!" Flak begged as Lukas held onto his neck with one hand. He smashed his boot into Flak's kneecap which broke immediately. Lukas let go of Flak's neck and raised the pistol to firing height.
"For Derrick. For Meghan...and for me," Lukas said.
"BROTHER HELP MEEEEE!" Flak screamed as Lukas pulled the trigger three times. Once in each shoulder and one to the head. The Mozambique Drill. The impact of the shots caused Flak to fall backwards off the roof. Within seconds, the steel cable tightened around his neck and Lukas heard the breaking of bones, ensuring that the man who killed Derrick Castellano was 100% dead. He looked over the side of the building to see Flak's now lifeless body hanging about 4 stories off the ground and bathed in spotlights. News crews were everywhere. Lining the streets and there were choppers in the sky. One of which had been shining over him the entire time. The jig was up now. His helmet was off. Everyone tuning in must have seen the now unmasked vigilante Fenrir murder a White Mask lieutenant on live television. Lukas looked to the sky before he began to ponder what Flak had said. Was Derrick really alive, or was he bluffing? There was no way to tell now. His calf was killing him and he needed to apply some first aid and fast. Plus now he needed to find out how he was going to return to Rainbow...that is, if they even let him at this point. Desertion is a very serious offence. Especially when it comes to high clearance and top secret counterterrorism units. Plus, there was going to be someone waiting for him. And according to his sources, she is PISSED.
Mission Report:
Lukas killed Flak, the White Mask that shot down Derrick's chopper in Washington.
