I still own nothing but the plot and my ocs

Apple pov

If you were to ask any student at ever after how their new lives were going most would say it was going well. The benders were now sparing with each other and there was talk of a tournament from their teachers. Regular classes were going ok, no new strain on any friendships and those who were in a relationship were all pretty happy. Well almost all the relationships seemed to be happy anyway. The relationship between one Apple White and Rotbart Von Schwarz was another story.

It seems that everyone else's relationship was going fairy well except mine! Raven and Dexter go out every other weekend. Cerise and Daring are always running around competing with each other in some sport or game though they never fight about it. Ashlynn and Hunter can't even separate from each other for longer than a few hours. But Rotbart and I can't seem agree to do anything together.

That's how it had been for the princess and villain for weeks, anything Apple wanted to do made Rotbart unhappy and anything Rotbart suggested was either met with outrage or disgust by Apple. She didn't want to go to bars for dinner, they were underage and she refused to believe it was really as nice as Rotbart claimed if the place was willing to serve minors. He didn't want to watch romantic comedies at the movies because according to Rotbart they were 'too cliché and spread lies about what love is' he'd rather watch a horror movie anyway.

Apple sometimes finds herself wanting to kick whoever decided that Rotbart was her perfect match when they couldn't agree on anything! But things were good when they were with a group well…groups where his sister was around to keep him in line anyway. But Apple was determined to be able to get along better with Rotbart without a group having to be there to force it and for that she had to work on a special project. A project she was currently working on in one of the school's kitchen with her roommate.

"I still can't believe that you're doing this for Rotbart." Raven said from where she was sitting shaking her head at her roommate and friend. "Still even I can't think of a reason why he wouldn't love this."

"I really just hope everything is good enough." Apple said nervously, and she had every right to be nervous Apple may be good at many things but she was terrible at cooking. In fact she'd only taken one cooking class at Ever After and just barely passed it. But Apple was a firm believer that if you really wanted something to work out you have to make it happen yourself. Sometimes that belief got her into trouble but this time it could help her out.

"You know Apple I wasn't so sure at first about you guys dating but this gesture is pretty big." Raven explained as Apple continued to cook. Raven hadn't been sure it was a good idea for those two to get together especially since they barely got along before and during their relationship. But Raven soon learned how much Apple was committed when she asked what Rotbart's favorite foods were so that she could cook it for him. "You know he hasn't had this food since his dad died."

It was no surprise to Apple that traditional Russian meals where Rotbart's favorites when she asked Raven. Everything about him had always screamed Russian even when he wasn't screaming at her in Russian so again not surprising what was surprising was the fact that he hadn't had any in years. According to Raven, Rotbart wasn't usually a picky eater but it was hard to please him when it came to Russian cuisine, something about the way his father made it which no one else seemed to be able to get close to made him very critical whenever others tried.

So, Apple as his girlfriend decided to try her best to make him something herself; she worked hard for two weeks finding the best ingredients looking for the best cooking teachers so that she wouldn't mess this meal up. The end result was according to both herself and Raven the best meal she ever made which included Pelmeni a dish that was made up of minced beef wrapped in thin dough, Vinegret Salad which was a salad made from boiled beets, potatoes, carrots, pickles, onions and sauerkraut and for dessert Varenye made from different fruits and berries.

"This was really hard but I'm glad I did this." Apple said excitedly once it was all done. She and Rotbart had a picnic date later that day which was lucky because Rotbart didn't even fight the idea of a picnic date which he has done in the past.

Rotbart pov

Rotbart hated to admit it but his plan might not work after all. Everything he did to turn Apple from him only caused her to work harder. Sure she got mad, hell there were even times were she wouldn't speak to him but she always came back later with a smile on her face and a promise to try harder. Even after arguments that Rotbart knew were irrational she still stayed. And now Rotbart really…liked her because of that determination sometimes he even thought of just giving in to her. It was why he easily agreed to a picnic date for later that day. I need to talk to Andrea maybe she can talk me out of it.

It was nearly lunch time anyways so Rotbart wasn't surprise to see no other students near Andrea's office. He was surprised however to see her about to pack up and leave though.

"Guess we're not having tea today?" Rotbart asked darkly as he watched Andrea pack her bag.

"No sorry! Antonio has a new lesson plan for his fire benders that he didn't tell me about so that I could hand it over to Ginger and Poppy earlier for their tutoring session. Now I've got to go back home get it come back find Ginger and Poppy so that they could have it." Andrea said sarcastically. "Sorry darkest but you've got your date with Apple right?"

"You could make it up to me by taking me with you to the Underworld." Rotbart stated plainly but Andrea knew he was really excited about the idea of going. He'd ask about being taken before and with his reputation being wishy washy with the other villains a trip to the Underworld would be a good evil boost for him. "Besides I've got a good twenty minutes before I have to meet Apple."

"Fine but only because this is a quick errand. And again, I'm telling you it's not going to be the way you think." Andrea warned him.

"It's still something to talk about the next time I see mother. Instead of her going on about how she now hopes that I'm dating Apple as a part of some evil master plan." Rotbart says with a shrug as they walk out the room.

"She'll be disappointed when she finds out that instead it's just a romantic comedy in the making." Andrea teased.

"Do not compare my life to one of those stupid movies!" Rotbart says darkly narrowing his eyes at her.

"Stop making your life one then!" Andrea countered back. This argument continued until the two made their way to through the mirror portal that brought them to a dining hall in the Underworld. "Stay here I just have to go in my brother's room real quick. Don't touch anything! I don't know what it would do to a full-mortal." With that Andrea disappeared no doubt towards her brother's room.

I should have listened to Andrea when she said that the Underworld would not be what I had hoped. She was right at best there was just some rooms with gothic furniture but that's about it. Rotbart had been looking around not really touching anything because this place was disappointingly similar to a few castles that he'd seen already even with Andrea's warning it still looked boring.

"Who are you?" A deep male voice said out of nowhere breaking his thoughts. There standing at the doorway was a very tale man broad looking at Rotbart with suspicion. If Rotbart didn't have so much practice he would have fell to his knees from that look alone it was so dark, so looming. He could feel the dark power pouring out from the man, Rotbart sensed that this man could end him fairly easily. "Well?"

"I'm Rotbart…Andrea needed to get something here and I've always wanted to see the Underworld, so I came with her." His voice was calm but for the first time in a long time he was scared this man had to be Andrea's father he was not only speaking to a God but he was speaking to Hades himself.

Hades stared him down for a few more seconds then finally stopped to laugh. The moment he started laughing the whole demeanor of the room changed; before it had been cold like death was around the corner ready to grab you where you stood. Now everything was more relaxed. "I had thought so, Andrea mentioned that you'd wanted to see this place for a long time?"

"It wasn't what I expected." Rotbart told the God plainly hoping to not offend him.

"I hope that meeting me makes up for that." Hades said playfully, in that moment the man reminded Rotbart of the God's children intimidating but still kind. It was interesting he didn't and did feel like them in particular you could tell that he raised them.

"Would it be too much to ask to see what's outside the palace?" Rotbart asked bravely, he knew even Andrea hadn't seen it but it couldn't hurt to ask.

"You can see it if you agree to join them?" Hades answered darkly glaring at the boy.

"Can I ask something else then?" Rotbart asked rather quickly.

"You'd dare make a deal with the devil?" Hades asked in amusement.

"Just hoping to have stories to tell my mother back home." Rotbart answered truthfully.

"Right villains." Hades plainly states with mild amusement. " In any given situation you all are an interesting group but a world where the right thing for certain people to do is be a villain takes the act into a noteworthy path."

"What do you mean?" Rotbart asked wondering where the dark god was going with his thoughts.

"Well from what I've come to understand most places want to live in a world without any evil where all they have is peace. Though what is even peace without evil?" Hades began to explain looking thoughtful. "Anyway, in your world people want villains they need them or else their life is meaningless but after the 'heroes' gain whatever it is they were promised they turn around and punish the villains for being villains essentially punishing them for giving their life meaning."

"I suppose that is true." Rotbart stated after letting Hades words truly sink in. "But I enjoy what I do just like I'm sure you-"

"No one not even the darkest of souls could handle what I do." Hades interrupted darkly. "It's not even a job that my oh so powerful brothers could even deal with for one day. But I wasn't looking to compare our lives to each other, here's the thing that makes your world so interesting who are the ones to punish in death for harming the innocent when the innocent asked to be harmed in the first place?"

Very few things shocked the would be villain anymore but Hades words were something to think about. He spent his whole life planning to follow in his parent's footsteps he knew the end results would never be in his favor no matter what story he was in. He didn't like the system but he still went along with it never thinking about what people on the outside of this system must think of it.

"Alright I got the lesson plan let's go." Andrea stated walking back into the dining hall breaking Rotbart out of his thoughts he turned to look at her.

"Ok then goodbye Mr.-" Rotbart turned back to where he thought Hades was standing only to see that the God was gone. "Hades?"

"My dad's not here darkest." Andrea stated looking at him in confusion.

"But he was just talking to me?" Rotbart insisted. "He was right there!"

"Oh, then he most likely said something profound and eye opening only to walk away." Andrea said with a shrug. "He does that a lot."

Ten minutes later found Rotbart back at the school he was going to head over to have that picnic with Apple he just needed to get a book from his locker first. Image his second surprise when he saw a few of his fellow villains standing at his locker.

"Well, well, well if it isn't the darkest so called villain of them all." Faybelle said mockingly. "Don't you have to go be some princess's lap dog right now?"

"Says the girl who betrays the Evil Queen because she never told her thank you." Rotbart mocked back. "Did it hurt knowing that no matter what you'd never be as good as a villain as my goody two shoes sister?"

"Big talk Mr. Apple White's new prince charming!" Faybelle yelled back, it still stung that she had done all that work and gained no respect from her idol. "Why are you even in villain classes anymore you don't belong there?!"

Apple pov

Rotbart was late really, really late. At first when five minutes passed Apple didn't make a big deal of it; ten minutes had Apple pacing the front of the school where they agreed to meet. But she wasn't going to call him yet besides it was more likely that he wouldn't pick it up. Twenty minutes later and now Apple was looking at him and getting madder the longer it took to located him. I worked on this meal for weeks I can't believe he couldn't just be bother to show up!

She wasn't happy when she found him especially with the other villains arguing about who even knows what. But she did calm down a bit because she knew that the other villains had been giving Rotbart a hard time since they started dating.

"Faybelle you have no idea what you speak of so I suggest you learn to keep your mouth shut!" Rotbart yelled darkly as Apple came on to the scene.

"Please any self-respecting villain knows that this is true!" Faybelle yelled back at the dark villain.

"What is going on?" Apple asked making herself known to the crowd that had gathered.

"Stay out of this Apple!" Rotbart stated not even turning around to look at her as he continues to glare at Faybelle. "I'm warning you Faybelle Thorn you do not want to cross me." His hands were glowing with dark magic at this point just to show how serious he was much to Apple's shock.

"Rotbart just because Faybelle is annoying you doesn't mean you should attack her!" Apple scolded.

"Yeah Rotbart you're not being a very good prince charming." Faybelle said mockingly. "You should just leave with the fairest of them all."

"Apple I told you to stay out of this!" Rotbart at this point was really starting to lose his temper. "You have no idea what's going here and your opinion is not needed."

"My opinion is very important especially when you don't show up for our date because you can't handle Faybelle's stupid comments." Apple yells losing her on temper she can't help but to argue back at him. "I swear it's like spending time with me isn't important to you at all!"

"It isn't." Rotbart replied darkly causing the crowd to gasp in shock.

"W-what?" Apple asked sheepishly hoping that she heard wrong. "You can't mean-"

"That you're not important." Rotbart proclaims interrupting her. "Of course but it's not like you even have a clue on what would be or is not important to me." He finished saying coolly not even a hint of remorse in his voice as he watched the tears fall down her cheeks as she turns and walks away.

I spent two weeks working on this meal because I thought that maybe deep down I was important enough to him. That even though we fought he was still making an effort but in the end I really wasn't important at all. Apple thinks to herself as she walks back to her room in tears.

Was gonna end it here should I?

Rotbart Pov

After that fight by the lockers I couldn't wait to call it a day. Word had spread like wildfire and Heroes and Villains alike would glare at me for the rest of the day. Not that they tried anything for all that bravado that they had, but a part of me knew I was wrong and should apologize for it. But the other part of me reminded myself that this was what I wanted to get Apple to see that we were not right for each other. In a week when this has pass I might just apologize so that we can move on with our lives.

"YOU BASTARD!" Raven yelled breaking through Rotbart thoughts he had been alone in the dorm room he shared with Sparrow when she barged in. "I can't believe my own brother would have the nerve to do something like this!"

Rotbart turned to look at his younger sister she was very angry; he knew she would be she was Apple's friend but it had to be done it wasn't the way he planned it but it worked none the less. "I get that you're upset but in a week when this thing blows over-"

"You broke Apple's heart after all the things she did for you!" Raven interrupted still very angry. "I would think you of all people would know better than to treat someone that way! You have no idea what you've done, how upset she is right now!" Raven finishes tossing a basket onto his bed.

"What's this?" Rotbart question raising an eyebrow at the basket in question.

"Apple wanted me to give it to you since she made it for YOU herself!" Raven barked back at him.

Rotbart checked inside the basket only to be surprise at what he saw. "You're lying there is no way she made this by herself. You're just trying to make me feel guilty." Rotbart stated darkly glaring back at his sister.

"You should because Apple spent two whole weeks trying to get everything perfect to make that for you. From tracking down the best ingredients to begging her mother for the best tutors so that she could make that for you!" At this point Raven's hands were glowing with magic which was worrying she hadn't lost control of her magic in a long time.

Rotbart stood there standing in shock he really wanted to believe that his sister was lying but he knew deep down she wasn't. Rotbart hadn't had Pelmeni, Vinegret salad and Varenye for years not since he ordered his stepfather's servants to no longer bother trying; they could never get it perfect like his father somehow managed to do. "I need to go." Rotbart stated coolly but his sister blocked the door.

"No way you've cause enough damage to Apple for a life time stay away-" Raven didn't get to finished because Rotbart was out the window having turned himself into a hawk since his sister clearly forgot that he could turn himself into a bird.

It didn't take him long to find her, but it was heartbreaking to watch as she cried over someone who didn't deserve her tears after what he had done. Raven's right I really am a bastard! Rotbart still in hawk form thinks to himself as he flew into the window that Apple was sitting near though because she was facing away from it she didn't realize that he was there until she felt his arms wrap around her. "I'm sorry." He states as he pulls her closer to his chest. "I'm really sorry."

Apple pulls away from him so that they could be sitting face to face. "Did you mean it?" Apple asked in all seriousness and for once Rotbart didn't have the heart to lie.

"Yes, I did but-" Rotbart answers honestly but before he can continue Apple interrupts.

"Then why did you even…you're the one that said that we should date!" Apple was completely confused now she had been prepared for him to reject her the first time which was why it was so surprising when he did the opposite.

"I thought that it would be a good idea to prove you were wrong by dating you so that you wouldn't bother me with that idea anymore." Rotbart explained slowly cringing at his own stupid explanation.

"Get out." Apple said darkly standing up to glare down at him.

"Apple I-" Rotbart begins to explain getting up himself to face her only for her to talk over him.

"I don't want to hear it! Get out! GET OUT!" Apple cries tears falling down her cheeks, Rotbart tries to move to comfort her but she backs away from him. "LEAVE!"

Normally he would have listen, he really would have but seeing Apple in tears heartbroken over him. He just couldn't leave not her there crying she was so sad and angry and…beautiful. Shit no, no, no! But no matter what he screamed in his head he still found himself moving closer to her.

"I said to leave Rotbart!" Apple was still crying and angry and she just wanted him gone. "Just leave me alone!"

"No." Rotbart stated simply, he wasn't going to leave right now no matter how much she yelled or how much his head yelled at him to walk away before he made it worse.

"I HATE YOU!" Apple shouted helplessly she just wanted to be alone now far away from this heartbreak.

Rotbart own heart clenched painfully at her words but he still move closer until they were standing face to face once again. "I love you too." He said and before Apple could snap out of the shock from hearing those words, he had pulled her into their first deep passionate kiss.

Hate it? Love it? Tell me!
