Hey guys! Thanks for your support of the story, and for also reading it. Sorry, but I'm not one to have a schedule for when I should post new chapters to keep it consistent, hence why it takes a long time for another release of a chapter. One thing too, I decided to change my character from having three katanas to just one sword. My Zoro-inspired thought just doesn't sit well with Nox. Now, to address some matters in the "Review" department, I would discuss some things:
TheMightyPurpleshirt (Ch. 1 Review Feb. 18, 2022): "Hmm, Might be interesting. I am going to warn you that the Overlord community tends to not like overpowered OC's. Which is kind of a vibe from your character of course I might be wrong. I find Hekkeran's reasoning is strange in letting Nox into the group but I understand the difficulties of writing scenes with already established characters and introducing new characters. But of course, this is just the first chapter and I don't even know what the story is going to be about. I don't want to discourage you, I just want you to give me your opinion. Those are my thoughts, and keep writing my friend."
Thanks for being the first to review my story. Your encouraging words persuades me to continue writing for the sake of enjoyment and to improve myself better. I understand that overpowered OCs are pretty much disregarded due to some factors mentioned by Onxy Walker21, so I'll take that into consideration. Hekkeran's reasoning was indeed off point, but like you said, writing a scene with established characters and introducing new ones are pretty hard, annoying, and brain-tiring.
DwiAAziz18 (Ch. 1 Review Feb. 18, 2022): "Apa Nox salah satu Supreme Being" Translated: "Is Nox one of the Supreme Being"
Ah, well yes but no. You'll have to wait for some upcoming chapters. So please continue to stick around for the story. c:
A Guy (Ch. 1 Review Feb. 18, 2022): "First, about the cover, tittle and summary, uh... in a store, will you see on the packing of a product "sorry we didn't found a name for this yet". And... the DB cover for an Overlord story really show how much you... don't give a shit? God I'm vulgar, and I apologize for , something I H.A.T.E is when characters from the original story do NOT act like their original counterparts. I hate even more when they act dumber than their're supposed to be (for a character dumb from the beginning, ok, but Foresight? they are far, far from acting like that, I HATE how you change their character for plot) Welp, I admit I don't like this story very much, good day still, stay healthy."
Thanks for your honest opinion. Allow me to clarify though, at the time of posting this story was around midnight. I wanted to get it out there so I can get some reviews about it and see if the story had any potential going forward. I did promise to change the title and give it a summary, and about the DB cover, that's actually my pfp that I've had since the day I joined Fanfiction. Now, considering Hekkeran's abnormal behavior in chapter one, I understand your reasoning. But I didn't made all of Foresight's members dumb, nor did I made Hekkeran any dumber (well, sort of). I wanted to introduce a fun spin to Hekkeran's side but not to the point that it would seem he's really acting out of character. I guess I failed on that part, but all good. I'll be sure not to ruin any more characters (unless I can't be bothered to think up of a scene). If you see this, thank you for your thoughts and continue to read the story if you feel like it. c:
To eveyone else, thanks once again for sticking around, to those who reviewed and to the readers who enjoy reading. Continue to review my story. Without delay, please read below. Happy reading!

A MEETING PLACE FOR THIEVES
The next day had come. In an old, run-down, brick-and-mortar apartment, Nox woke up feeling hazy. He made sure to get all the rest he could because things were about to get messy for him. Skipping breakfast, he took his time to refresh himself, dressing up in the same attire as yesterday's, albeit a second clean pair, as he wore the same mysterious white mask, before meeting at the rendezvous point he made with Hekkeran, the leader of Foresight. Leaving his accomodation, he strolled forward through the usual active streets. While passing by along the way, he thought he might as well grab some snacks to fuel himself up. After all, it's not right to start a day on an empty stomach.
Enjoying the food he had, he soaked in all the flavors, causing him to casually fix his eyes above. Perhaps it was this feeling that Nox felt like he was living in heavenly bliss, which gives the reason why he decided to gaze upwards. As he looked up towards the sky, he noticed something odd, "The sky's red? Why is that?" After pausing for a brief moment within the noisy streets, he brushed aside this unimportant matter and continued onward. Calmly walking the side path, as he finished eating whatever he had, he finally reached the Singing Apple Pavilion. He opened the door only to be met with frustrating eyes. Each of Foresight's members were at a table together, two were drinking beer while the other two were eating. The old man who runs the inn was at the counter, wiping clean what seemed to be countless beer jugs with a piece of cloth. He simply said "Welcome." as Nox entered.
Ignoring the said old man, Nox was thinking, "Why are they all looking at me like that… Hmm?"
The half-elf lady known as Imina stomped her way towards Nox, although she was swaying side to side while carefully maintaining her footing, before pointing a finger up close to his face, as she said in a bitter tone, "What took you so long! We've been waiting for you!"
"Uh, what do you mean?" The person replied genuinely. Taking a closer look at Imina, he perceived her face was flushed with red. She also gave subtle hiccups every few heart beats or so. Was it because she was drunk? That much was plainly clear as shown by her current state and most of the beer jugs left at the counter.
"'What do you mean'?!" She repeated in clear disappointment, "It's literally late in the afternoon, and it's almost about sunset!"
Not focusing on the angry temper in front of him, Nox reflected back just moments ago as he placed a finger beneath his plain expression, "Oh, so that's how it is…"
Imina, having enough of Nox's behavior, could only fold her arms in annoyance, "Huh!? What are you thinking now? Planning on ditching us already?"
"Ah- no, not really. That isn't the whole reason why I'm here, of course. By the way, didn't you guys do anything else besides hanging out in this tavern? Like, you had the whole day to yourselves, so you probably just wasted a lot of your time."
"Since our leader forgot to tell you something important, we decided to wait here until you show up, which right now I'm regretting that we could've been doing much better things than waiting for a slow poke like you." Though she has a hobby of doing literally nothing, it still bothered her in an odd way.
"Hey, don't blame me for being late! It's not my fault in the first place." Now, as to why Nox was late for the meeting, despite not being told yesterday at what time he should come, it is because he is a deep sleeper. Or maybe it was because of that hidden stash of classic old wine which lay secretly in his apartment upon recent discovery when he moved in. Whoever it belonged to, he felt thankful for such a person to cater for his needs.
Before Imina could spout any more words, Arche, who had already walked up to her side, took hold of the elf woman. She probably knew that if the purple-haired lady stood up much longer, she would soon pass out due to her intoxicating attitude or her clumsiness to trip over. "Imina, come and sit down. You're already at the point of collapsing." The blonde girl then looked at Nox, "You too."
As she gently walked the drunkard back to her seat, Nox heeded to her words and followed behind Arche as he took a seat at an empty chair which was reserved for him only. Nox signaled the old man to bring him one of his finest brews, to which he did. Lifting up his mask to the point where only his mouth was exposed, he drank the fine beverage while the members were still staring at him. He thought that maybe he should speak up first so as to break up the awkward presence. Nox said, "It's a pleasure to see you all again."
"So to you as well." Hekkeran replied in kind on behalf of his team. "Sorry, but you're right. It was my fault that I forgot to give a time in which we should meet." He then bowed his head in an apologetic manner.
Nox dismissed the formal behavior, prompting Hekkeran to raise his head. He said, "Don't worry about it. I'm sorry as well for wasting your guy's day. If I were to be honest with you, even if we did make a proper rendezvous, I would be more of a drag. I'm not a morning person, that is."
Setting their small problems to the side, Hekkeran continued speaking, "The fact of the matter is, you came right on time. In a couple of minutes, we'll be meeting with the other worker groups, so before that I'd like to quickly catch you up on who we're working with on this joint operation."
Without further ado, Hekkeran began explaining to Nox all about the other group of workers. Though, what Nox thought to be a quick catch up was actually a fifteen minute talk. Maybe he thought the blonde leader was cunningly trying to get back at him for wasting his time. But anyways, while Hekkeran was talking, Nox sat there with what seemed to be an attentive face, but he could only process some of the information given. He was internally fatigued, not bothering with it at all. "Please, somebody toss me a pain killer. I don't care who the leaders are, just tell me how many people there's gonna be at the job and that's it."
After what seemed like an eternity to him, Hekkeran finally ended his talk with, "Did you get all that?" To which Nox, calmly recollecting himself, said, "Yeah, I understand."
Two of Hekkeran's companions sensed lies behind those words. As for Imina, she minded her own business as she proceeded to drink. "Why was he even telling me about those guys? They just want to get the rewards, right? So there's no need for me to know anything more about them… Who cares, through one ear and out the other..." Hekkeran accepted Nox's response, "Great. We got fifteen more minutes before we set off to the ancient tomb of ruins. Let's hurry to the gathering place where the other workers are so we won't be late for the ride."
"Alright." Chugging down the remainder of his drink before slamming the jug on the table, Nox covered his face with his mask and got up with the rest of the group as they were about to make their way out. Before leaving, they made sure to pay up their bills to the old man, leaving at the counter their sum of money.
Arche and Rober wrapped their arms around Imina as they struggled to carry her. "Couldn't she just wait until after the job is done?" the young arcane magic caster asked. Imina was throwing a small tantrum, trying to wriggle free from her friends, "Come on you guys, let me drink a little bit more…"
Roberdyck replied, "It can't be helped. We were waiting here for a long time, so to cope with her boredom she decided to do what she does best."
Even though this was a natural thing to deal with, the two didn't mind it at all. Imina was their friend, and they understood her since they've all been together for a long time. The group reached the door and exited. The old man watched them leave as he said, "Please come again." After the group of regular customers left, he then gave a tired impression, "Looks like I gotta clean up this mess as usual."
The evening sky was still putting on a blazing display. Thanks to the little daylight available, the group of five were able to reach their destination, but not without their troubles. Along the way before arriving, Foresight had to deal with slight issues due to one of their obvious companions. Nox, on the other hand, watched from the sidelines laughing at the poor state the team were in, though he was careful enough not to be heard. Thanks to his mask, the possibility of seeing a wide grin on his face was zero. But luckily, somehow, the once drunkard woman was able to recover herself and became totally sober. Maybe it was one of her own unique perks? Anyways, that was one problem gone. The place where they were currently at was a large yard, and a huge mansion stood out to them. This was the property of the nobleman, Count Femel. In their line of sight, they saw all of the people who would embark on the epic quest. Distinguishing them separately, Hekkeran saw the leaders of different parties, whom he knew, grouped together while talking amongst themselves.
After being lightly shoved forward by his girlfriend, a signal to join in on the conversation, Foresight's boss made his way to meet up with them. "Hey, if it isn't you guys again."
Turning their individual heads, Hekkeran was met with friendly gazes. Well, most of them. One of those "friendly" looks belonged to a savage. "Oh, I had anticipated that you'd be here." The man who first greeted the blonde with a warm welcome was short in stature, basked in a silver-white armor which defined his large body shape, and carried a large two-handed battle ax which laid comfortably within his grip.
"Gringham!" Hekkeran replied in an enthusiastic tone, finally joining in the circle, "It's great to see that you're joining us." The man known as Gringham was a good person and easy-going with his comrades. He became leader of a group called Heavy Masher, effortlessly leading them forward to victory. He said, "Of course. This is an opportunity that neither of us can pass up, am I right?"
He smiled in return, "Yeah." The blonde then motioned his head to an old man who was advanced in age, and, while seemingly keeping a good head on his shoulders, had a discreet personality. He wore brown and green colored armor, wielding a spear made from the tusks of a green dragon. Around the age of 80, he should've been taken care of in a rest home, but such a thing was not necessary since he had peak body physique for someone his age. He might've sometimes been mistaken by amatuer thugs as weak and useless. But behind his age is a whole lifetime of success, errors, and hard-earned experience. It only makes sense that he's the figurehead of Dragon Hunt, another fellow group of workers. Hekkeran said to him, "I thought you would've kicked the bucket by now, but I guess age does slow down for some who are still willing to risk their lives for the cost of money, right, Parpatra?"
Parpatra Ogrion snickered at the youngster's words, "Oi, oi, didn't anyone teach you to respect your elders? Well, you're correct. Perhaps the day I truly retire from being a worker is probably when I die, either a natural death or when some powerful enemy tears my old limbs apart. So, in the meantime, I'll keep doing my job."
Hekkeran chuckled at the words of his elder. He then directed his friendly intentions towards a person who claimed to rival Gazef Stronoff, the Warrior Captain of the Re-Estize Kingdom, in terms of swordsmanship. While he did possess a charming appearance of near-perfectness, behind that facade lies a wolf in sheep's clothing. He wore a black and white samurai armor, a katana blade to the side of his waist, accompanied with an arrogant, disgusting, and cocky attitude. "To think that even Erya Uzruth, who is said to match Gazef Stronoff, is taking part in this quest is a relief."
Wearing a grin that implemented his own superiority over others, Erya replied, "Thanks for the flattery. But, by all means, do understand that it will be the Warrior Captain who will be compared to me instead."
"Ah, yes. No doubt about that… Is this guy always so full of himself?" Looking over Hekkeran's shoulder, Erya narrowed his perverted eyes on Imina, "Oh? A half-elf I see? She looks pretty nice."
Before he could say anything more, Hekkeran had to cut him off there. "Oi, no need to eye on my comrade." Whatever that savage was thinking in his head, Hekkeran had to make sure to lay him off from the woman he loved. Erya pleaded with a voice of subtle poison, "Forgive me for my nonsense. Now that we're all here, I'll leave you leaders to lay out the ground works for us. As for me, I'll be making my way back to my team."
Said 'team' was called Tenmu, which consisted of himself and three slaved elves whom he had purchased from the Slane Theocracy. These three elves were all trained magic casters and provided support for their master. Sadly, their master exploits them for his corrupted desires and only thinks of them as nothing more than useless dog bones to play fetch with. That's because Erya Uzruth upholds the notion that human beings are superior to all other races, but it is this belief that will prove how wrong he would soon be.
As Erya was about to leave the trio behind, he stopped in his place. He took a good look again at Foresight, and noticed the stranger who stood beside them. "Hekkeran, I didn't know you recruited another member?"
Parpatra and Gringham frowned upon that question. They too cast their eyes on Foresight and took hold of the person behind the mask. "Oh? How interesting…" the old man said as he stroked his long white beard.
Gringham added, "I didn't notice him until now. I see that you got yourself an extra pair of hands, huh?" Hekkeran smiled bitterly as he waved off what the dwarf said, "No, it's not like that. He's a worker that does jobs on his own. He's not a part of my group. Although, I wish he could be."
"Whatever do you mean by that?" Erya interjected. His eyes seemed more narrow and his smile more mischievous. Perhaps he was determined to recruit the man to work under him, maybe to cover up for the useless slaves he had. Hekkeran understood the evil in those eyes, "I asked him if he wanted to join, but he refused. From what I heard, he likes to work alone."
This was a chance for Erya. "Whether he likes it or not, I want him to work for me. After all, I've been looking for an extra slave to cover for my losses. Those three just can't get the job done properly." Hearing this, Hekkeran stood his ground, "I don't know about that. He's not the type to take orders from others. Even from someone like you."
Those last words made the swordsman scoff, as if he was being looked down on. "Then," the samurai warrior said, "Why not call him over? I want to have a little chat with him."
Hekkeran refused, "No can do. Though he declined to join my team, we came to an agreement that he'll be accompanying my crew on this quest." Now this was irritating Eyra Uzruth. This dude was getting in his way.
While they were having a back-and-forth conversation, Nox was standing impatient with the group. "What's taking them so long? I wanna get going right now."
"Hold your horses, big guy." Imina replied. "You see those carriages over there? Everyone's stuff is being loaded on before we can begin setting out on our journey. So, while they're doing that, our leader is just busy getting along with the others. Although, that guy gives me the creeps." Referring to that "guy," Foresight understood who the man she was talking about.
"You mean Erya Uzruth?" Arche asked, as the half-elf nodded in response with an apparent disdain on her face. Roberdyck also said, "True. It seems that he's having an argument with Hekkeran right now, but why does he keep looking back towards us?"
"Maybe he sees someone of interest?" Nox inquired. A little pause occurred before Imina freaked out, "A-Are you saying that he's looking at me?... If anything, I don't want to be one of his slaves!"
"Slaves?" the masked man asked again. "Yes," Arche said before gesturing towards the three who stood quite a distance apart from them, "Those are the elven slaves that were purchased by that man," as she pointed to Erya, allowing Nox to capture the despicable person. He eyed the three, and saw how much of an uncared-for state they were in. The clothes which they wore gave them no defensive capabilities whatsoever, and they all walked barefooted. If he had to guess, he would be right to think that they were mistreated in every way, both mentally and physically.
Nox thought to himself, "If I remember, Hekkeran did say that one of them was a cocky guy and had owned several slaves." While he pondered these things, Hekkeran called out to him, breaking his chain of thinking, "Oi! Nox! Can you come here for a sec?"
Leaving his thoughts behind, without hesitation he walked towards the group of leaders. "What do you think our leader wants from him?" Arche wondered, to which Rober answered, "Maybe to discuss something?" Imina let out grateful breaths, "As long it's not me, then I'm doing just fine… Not like Hekkeran would give me up that easily… But, I think I now know why that creep kept staring back at us. It has to do with something about Nox, right?."
"Hmm… You think so too?" All of them agreed on that thought. Covering the gap between them, the individual finally reached the quartet. Nox examined the group and noticed the other trio. "A dwarf, an old geezer, and a perverted man. Yup, these are the guys he told me about… Yo, Hekkeran, you need somethin'?" He saw what looked like a tired face due to the fact that Hekkeran was caught in an endless argument.
The blonde man answered back, "Well, it has nothing to do with me, but with him." He pointed his thumb to Erya. "Hey there. So you must be Nox, huh? My name is Erya Uzruth. It's a pleasure to meet you." He extended his right hand, and Nox shook it, "Likewise to you."
"You sure got a grip there." After shaking hands for a span of two seconds, they let go. Being up close, Nox could already tell what this guy was plotting, thanks to that evil smirk plastered on his face. "Now, I don't want to waste our time, so allow me to be forward. I want you to join my team."
Nox glanced at Hekkeran, who stood at the side, and received a shrug along with an exhausted expression, indicating "I tried to tell him, but he wouldn't listen." The masked man then turned his attention back to Uzruth, "Sorry, but I would have to decline your offer."
Foreseeing this occurrence, the samurai warrior decided to assert his dominance. Placing his hand on the hilt of his katana which sat by his waist, he said in a commanding tone, "Who said it was an offer? It's an order!" His signature smirk which marked evil intent broadened even wider.
"It seems like you're not the type to respect other people's decisions." Nox gradually swayed his left hand beneath his coat before majestically flipping it over, revealing a magnificent sword of intricate design. He then folded his arms as his stoic being began to emanate a spine-chilling aura which gave goosebumps to those around him.
A short welcome turned tense. Though both sides did not draw their swords, it was obvious that deadly intentions were felt in the atmosphere. Everyone within the courtyard drew their focus on the two who were releasing such ominous feelings.
Watching the duo at a safe distance out of everyone's sight and hearing, a stunning woman of beauty said with a cold voice, "It seems the insects are starting to cause a commotion among themselves. It would be great to watch some trash take each other out."
"Nabe." said a dignified knight. "It'll be better if they don't. After all, we need them to be necessary sacrifices for the Great Tomb of Nazarick... At first, I never intended for this to happen. But if what Demiurge says is true, then this will definitely be the best course of action to make Nazarick known to the world..."
The female warrior responded with a humble bow and a tone of reverence, "Yes, Lord Ainz. Then, would you like me to stop the insects from-"
"No, there's no need." Ainz interrupted, cutting her off. "The situation doesn't look to be that dangerous. In any case, I can sense that the air around them is de-escalating quickly. But, for a brief moment…" The Overlord cast a red-sparkling glare through his helmet towards the masked individual, prying Nabe to turn her eyes to the man whom her master was observing, "I could've sworn the aura which I felt just then is all too familiar. Especially from that certain individual."
A momentary pause before Nabe spoke up, "I believe so too, Lord Ainz." She sharpened her eyes at the stranger in sight, "That trash, whom we've met the other day, released a pressure which my memory can't vaguely remember. If I must say, I was quite a bit intimidated… and it pisses me off."
Seeing the clear disgust on her face, as Narberal clenched her fists tightly and grinded her teeth, Ainz could understand her anger. Feeling intimidated by a human, or in the language of Nazarick, a mere lower life-form, was embarrassing for her. But this was information for Ainz, "If that's how Nabe feels, then that person is someone to be wary of."
Cleverly discerning Ainz was watching her, she remembered her lord's words not to get angry at the specks. Elegantly, she calmed herself down. Letting out a composed breath, she respectfully bowed before the magic caster, "Forgive me, Lord Ainz, for rudely letting my emotions get the better of me before your superb being."
Ainz dismissed her with a hand, "No need for apologies. I understand how you feel."
Back to Nox and Uzurth, the stingy condition had finally subsided thanks to Gringham, Parpatra, and Hekkeran being present. "Now," said Eyra, "Hurry up and join my team. I'm sick of people getting in my way, so don't be a stubborn dog and get on my leash." His eyes widened due to frustration, as he gave a sinister chuckle, mocking the person before him.
Hekkeran couldn't help refraining himself from hearing such a detestable choice of words, "Oi, Eyra! Enough is enough! You heard him already! So just leave it be-"
"Fine."
Quietness dwelled for a short moment. Gingham and Parpatra stared in confusion at the fellow who agreed. Much less could be said for Hekkeran who was clearly seen as speechless. Still standing tall with his arms folded, Nox clarified himself again, "I'll join your team, just like you wanted me to do. Right?"
All nuisances and vexation which was displayed on Uzruth's face finally disappeared. He was overcome with triumph, but Hekkeran couldn't accept that. "Wait, hold on a minute! Nox! What are you doing? You never agreed to join my team, so what made you think to accept joining hands with him? Did you even hear what he said?"
"Yeah, I heard him." When Nox said that, Hekkeran froze in place. He felt like there was something in those words that gave the masked warrior a reason to take on a deal with the abhorrent evil, Eyra Uzruth. "Don't worry, Hekkeran. I still remember our conversation yesterday, so I'll be back soon."
Nothing more was said, except for Uzruth's clear irritation, "'I'll be back soon,' you say?! Oi, you work for me now. So don't think you can have your own way." Clearing his throat, he continued, "Come now, let me introduce you to the others. You slaves will be able to get along pretty well." Nox followed the leader from behind. Now separated from the group, the three leaders standing on the sidelines only grumbled at the person's distasteful mannerisms.
"I don't know what that man is thinking, but I believe he has a reason for making such a decision, right Hekkeran?" Gringham asked.
The blonde responded, "Yeah, I think so too. I just hope he doesn't have a hard time having to deal with Eyra's selfishness."
"What an intriguing figure." Parpatra added, gaining questionable looks from his companions. "He's the type of person who wouldn't let anyone downplay him, and if push comes to shove, he'll probably make rational decisions. You found a dependable person, Hekkeran."
He only smiled in appreciation. "Whatever reason it is, just be safe."
After discussing their plans, each leader went back to their individual groups. Hekkeran explained the situation about Nox with his teammates. "Huh?! That bastard, Eyra!" Imina said. "I guess we were right about him."
"If one thing, I feel sorry for Nox. What was he even thinking?" Arche commented.
Roberdyck uttered, "We barely know who Nox is, but I know for certainty no person would want to work for someone like Uzruth. He's up to something."
Agreeing on those words, each member of Foresight left it at that. It wasn't long after when everyone's luggage was loaded on the caravans that each group was called together as they presented themselves before Count Femel. "Thank you, ladies and gentleman, for participating in this quest."
Standing there, Eyra gave a devious smile towards Hekkeran causing him to scoff in return. But Uzruth paid it no heed. The nobleman spoke onwards, "To assure you all on your journey, I have requested an Adamantite of renown status from the Re-Estize Kingdom to accompany you. Please, welcome Momon and his companion, Nabe."
Revealing themselves, Ainz and Narberal stood before the workers. Everyone was shocked and whispered to each other, discussing many things about the two well-known Adventurers. But amidst them, Nox, who was with Tenmu, remembered the duo he bumped into. "Oh, it's those two… Momon and Nabe? I'm starting to remember something now."
"Seems like we caught his attention…" Ainz pondered. "Thank you, Count Femel, for having us. Before we set off, let me ask you all a question." As he said that, everyone muffled their talking and listened. "What is your purpose for doing this?"
A simple quiz for anyone to answer. But, without delay, it was Gringham who answered his question, "We do this for the money, of course."
Ainz, after getting the answer to his query, quietly exhaled in disappointment. "Hmm… I see. I guess I've asked such a worthless question." The emphasis on the word "worthless" sounded odd to Nox.
After making their final preparations, everyone was ready to begin their mission. Hopping on the caravans, they all began to ride out away from the sunset. "Momon… Nabe… Momon.. Nabe.. Momon? Nabe? Wait!" A reality shock hit Nox really hard, causing him to quickly grasp for air. "Are you telling me, it's them!? The place where we're going is a tomb, and learning those two names… It all connects."
Nox sat next to the three slaves in the caravan reserved for team Tenmu. Eyra Uzruth, picking up on the puzzled demeanor of his newly recruited slave, asked mockingly, "What's wrong? Are you feeling afraid? Or scared? Perhaps you want to abandon me after realizing your stupid blunder of a choice? Well, too bad for you, but I won't allow that. I may not look like it, but I have a keen eye for someone strong, not as though you're any match for me that is."
Ignoring him, Nox replied, "No, nothing of the sort. I'm just… trying to wrap my head around things."
"Hmph. You better get your act right. Don't try and make a fool out of me for taking you under my supervision. I already have a handful of useless fledglings to deal with… Now that I thought about it, I wonder what that face of yours looks like behind that mask?"
"Sorry, but it stays on." Receiving this stern reply, Tenmu's leader was annoyed, "Guess I have to teach you some manners later. Well, whatever."
Realizing his curiosity was in vain, he ignored the idea of who was under the mask and just looked outside to watch the sun setting with every second ticking by. But for Nox, while looking down at the wagon's wooden planks as it squeaked with every bump on the rough road they traveled, his interest was heightened for some other reason, "I can't wait." Without anyone seeing, he smiled bitterly, "Do expect me, Momonga."
