Quiet and Caring
You let out a sigh of relief as you see Vax safe, beat up, but safe. The Briarwoods did a number on everyone in the party, including you. You put more pressure on your bleeding shoulder as you're escorted by the guards back to the Keep.
But you didn't care about your shoulder right now, your focus was on Vax who was in the roughest shape of all by far.
Pike herself was exhausted so you told her to take care of Vax's injuries before yours, "You sure? That shoulder isn't looking that well." Pike narrowed her eyes in worry.
"It's fine." You shrug with your good shoulder, "I'll take care of it. You take care of Vax." You glace at your boyfriend who was currently sitting with his back against the wall, eyes shut in pain.
"Wait..." Vax groans, "Everyone needs help. Not just me." Vax tries to stand up but his legs can't quite hold him up just yet.
You shake your head at the rouge, "You're by far the worst off." Everyone nodded their heads in agreement, "Let Pike heal you up and get some rest ok?" You look at him softly, a small but slightly painful smile on your face. Vax sighs and nods begrudgingly.
You leave to your own room, very much in pain as you remove your armor and shirt to clean up your stab wound. You don't have much practice with healing but you feel like you did a good enough job.
However you are proven wrong when you wake up in the very, very early hours of the morning with a burning, throbbing pain.
You groan painfully as you sit up, the bandage covered in blood. "Shit." You curse to yourself.
"Shit is right." You let out a startled scream as you turn to the door and see Vax standing there, a very disapproving look on his face, his arms crossed over his chest, "As in you did a shitty job at fixing yourself up. I could hear you whimpering from the other side of the wall." Now granted the walls aren't that good. The Keep needs a lot of fixing up. Much like you.
Vax walks over to a drawer where you keep your healing kit. He lets out a heavy sigh, walks out the room and comes back with arms full of med supplies.
"Alright, shirt off." There's a slight teasing hint to his voice, but then again Vax always likes to lighten the mood with such a tone. At least with you. "I'll patch you up, love."
"Because you're so good at it right?" You quirk an eyebrow at the half-elf.
"Better than you. My sister and I picked up a lot of skills on the road. Now stop being so stubborn." Vax sits at the foot of the bed and waits.
You smile and shake your head. Damn he can be so stubborn at times. Knowing that you decide to oblige him.
True enough he did seem to know what he was doing. He was so careful not to hurt your further and when he did he warned you before hand. You feel him kiss your bare shoulder with such care and warmth you almost think he's casting a healing spell of his own.
When he's done he waists no time cleaning up the mess on the bed and helping you put your shirt back on. He pulls up a chair at the foot of the bed and sits down.
"You're not gonna go back to sleep. You can sleep in my bed if you..." Vax shakes his head.
"Not sleeping until I know you're ok. I'm all healed up don't worry." He smiles your way, his hands gently gliding you back down by your shoulders. Your eyes flutter close as you feel a gentle kiss on your lips, your cheek and your forehead, "I'll be your guardian angel." He winks at you before giving a final goodnight kiss.
