A Witch Made

This is my remake of Heir to Order, I have so many ideas to fix what I screwed up on.

July 8th, 2010

Soft glowing purple hands danced around the body of a seven year old boy, whose sobs slowly subsided into silence. The gash on his inner arm slowly fading away into nothing, and even the blood on his clothes started to evaporate under the flow of magic. "There, that's better, isn't it?"

The boy in question nodded, a smile slowly creeping onto his face. "Thank you, Mister Arcana!"

Arcana nodded, pleased. "You are most welcome. Now, here is a lollipop. Stay safe, alright?" As the boy walked away, Arcana turned to his mentor, a tired expression behind his mask. " That was my last patient, I think it is time I go home."

"You do that, Arcana, and know you did an excellent job."

The boy shook hands with Melione, his mentor, and walked out of the building, before channeling power into a runic talisman on his wrist. A purple light exploded from the talisman, taking him away several towns over, to Salem where he lived. He appeared in his room, filled with bookcases on magics of all types, sealing his uniform in a set of runic tattoos on his chest. After getting dressed into a set of shorts and a t-shirt, he stretched big and long.

Satisfied, he moved out of his room and down the stairs.

"Dad, I'm home."

"Ahh Nas, I wondered when your shift would be over." His father said, and within a second he saw the man in question. Kent Nelson, dressed to the nines, looking handsome as always with his suit and cane and grey hair. "How was your shift?"

"Not too bad, I am really getting the hang of this nurse stuff, and the ER loves having me around. Unlike the other sidekicks, I really do make a better rescue hero and nurse. He smiled warmly, plopping down on to their couch where his dad was sitting. It was true, what he said, he had been working at the ER, several towns over mastering his healing magic to take care of and saved hundreds of people over the last two years while also being trained to be an RN, specifically a trauma and med surge nurse. "I saved sixteen kids from bus accident and twelve adults."

Kent laughed. "Inza would be proud of you kid... oh did I tell you, the Sidekicks are getting their own team. They broke into Cadmus and rescued Superman's clone, destroyed the building entirely."

"Wait, clone?"

"Yup, a clone of Superman though he seems to lack his full powers. Anyway, they were so determined to make their own team the League allowed it. Batman is giving them missions and Canary is training them. Covert missions only."

"Sounds epic." Nas turned to his father fully. "You want me to join, don't you?"

"You're a skilled fighter in both boxing and judo, you are adept at magic and moderately powerful, you can sense magic and auras, are a fantastic medic and an experienced nurse, you have a near mastery of runes and potions... you are a remarkable kid and I think you are wasting your full talents."

Sighing, he leaned into his father. "Tell you what, give the team a few months. If they are still alive and with it by September, I will join on a preliminary basis."

"Alive? You are expecting them to die?"

"They are kids trying to do the job of extremely well-trained adults... still, they are powerful. Pity I haven't met them."

"Yes, pity... we can fix that if you wish?"

"No, let's wait until the need is present... don't want to get my hopes up... I am going to go spar. Is that dummy in the basement still enchanted to fight back?"

Kent laughed. "Yes, my son, it is. Just be careful, it is developing quite the right hook."

Chuckling himself, Nas hurried away, to the basement, eager to get some training done. He had worked a hard shift, a twelve hour shift, he needed some release before he went to sleep.

Chapter end, tell me what you think in the reviews.

I set things up so much better and gave him a better skill set... and time to practice.

Love, your Ninja Overlord,

Mika.
